great spot for drinks and tapas- the baby squid toast and quail toast were awesome, and can't miss the boquerones en vinagre. staff also really nice and interactive (esp if you speak spanish). gets very crowded around 9 pm, so go earlier if you want a seat at the bar, it's a smaller place

Love their tapas but come early otherwise no seats! Get the langostinos al ajillo, the squid and foie gras pinchos, and revuelto de boletus. So yummy. Great wine selections.

This was our final stop for tapas for thr night. Food was great. We had the duck leg confit and some tasty free appertivos with cava. Everything was great. Place has a very chill slower vibe.

Nice little joint. Came for lunch and there was only 1 person serving, but he was quick and efficient. The duck magret was definitely the highlight. He accidentally gave us the duck confit, but swapped it out for no extra charge etc even tho we couldn't speak spanish (we definitely pointed at the magret!) Would recommend, the wine and beer prices around 2-3 euro.

Wonderful taberna with a cozy atmosphere, great service and food. They put a lot of thought into the food as well as the wine selection and you can definitely feel their dedication. We had a great time.

A great atmosphere is perfectly matched by the epic wine selection on the wall. The staff are friendly, and they pour some delicious wines by the glass or by the bottle. Do yourself a favour and book ahead. The steak looked and smelled absolutely amazing, definitely keen to give it a try next time!

A recommendation from another wine bar that was busy with a vermouth tasting. Came here on a Saturday afternoon in October 2023. It was packed. Found a place to stand at the bar. Oscar at the bar was great. They had almost 20 wines by the glass. I had 4. The food was good too. Had the mushrooms and the Iberian ham. All in all it was an afternoon well spent. One important point to note- they don't have wifi and the mobile data connection inside is non-existent.

Fui por segunda vez y fue mi entrada a Madrid. Muy rico. El Mozo que nos atendió un mal educado. Deberían poder echarlo con causa justa. Atenta contra el negocio con total impunidad. Un señor panzón del cual hablan en estas reseñas es un machirulo. A irrespetuoso. Me siento identificada con el dueño del lugar que puede hacer su mayor esfuerzo pero si su cara visible que interactúa con la gente es este señor… arruina todo su esfuerzo. Si lo despide con justa causa no debería ni recibir indemnización. Pensé que la primera vez era un mal día. No leí reseñas. The food was mediocre and our waiter ignored us. We spent a month in Spain and this was the only place that asked for a tip - and he made it awkward. Es increíble cómo se puede estropear una experiencia con el mal servicio. El tristemente célebre encargado de barra, Que ya es mundialmente reconocido, inclusive al tener fotos y comentarios innumerables en las opiniones divertidas en Google, Continúa haciendo de las suyas día tras día, noche tras noche, Dedicado a hacerte pasar un mal rato, O sea que le preguntes por de dónde viene el vino y te dejé en silencio sin Responder, O simplemente que pidas una recomendación acerca de un vino, Responderá de manera irónica, O pasivo agresiva. Sólo se me ocurre opción a que sea al dueño del local, Y ante eso no quedará más opción a esperar a que le llegue el último día (Que debería estar un poco cerca, considerando su colesterol) o O que sea familiar del dueño. Lo que es claro, Es que echa a perder los esfuerzos de todo un equipo, De cocina, por ejemplo, Ejecutando excelentes platos, Y asimismo de la persona que elige los vinos que tiene una excelente selección. Al dueño: tomar accion. Y si es el dueño el Sr, le envio un saludo cordial, que el no me dio.

Entramos sin nos saludaron, salimos, tal cual, en ningún momento se preocuparon de preguntarnos cuántas personas somos ni si nos apetecía algo de tomar hicimos contacto visual varias veces con los camareros, levantamos la mano y nos dijeron nada. We walked in and no one greeted us. We left just like that. At no point did they bother to ask how many people we were or whether we wanted something to drink. We made eye contact with the waiters several times, raised our hands, and they didn’t respond at all

La comida muy rica. Por otro lado, el mozo que nos atendió fue un total maleducado. Fue nuestra primer noche en Madrid y no sabiamos que pedir, por lo tanto tardamos en elegir, y el mozo no solo no nos asesoró sino que se burlaba haciendo ronquidos. Al preguntarle por la tortilla y las croquetas (plato tipico español), se nos rio en la cara, se dió media vuelta y se fué. Sus intentos de broma los consideramos una falta de respeto. Suponemos que no fue con mala intención, pero mas que atendernos sentiamos que molestabamos. No volveremos, una pena porque el ambiente y la comida si fueron buenos.

Mi experiencia en la Taberna Tempranillo fue decepcionante. El trato no me pareció correcto. Pedimos una botella de vino y, a diferencia de cuando pides una copa, no nos ofrecieron el aperitivo correspondiente. Cuando finalmente lo pedí, simplemente nos trajeron unas aceitunas, lo cual me pareció muy pobre. Además, pedimos una tabla de quesos con queso de untar y no incluyeron pan. Resulta difícil entender cómo pretenden que lo tomes sin pedir pan aparte… y, por supuesto, cobrándolo adicionalmente. Me pareció una práctica poco cuidada hacia el cliente. En conjunto, la experiencia no estuvo a la altura y, sinceramente, no tengo intención de volver.

Una muy mala experiencia. El camarero o dueño, Oscar, no nos quiso atender. Mi compañero le habló en un tono un poco déspota, y el camarero o dueño, Oscar, se puso a gritar como un energúmeno. Nos dijo que no nos servia. Le pedí las hojas de reclamaciones y no me las quiso dar. Me dijo que no las tenia, y que volviera mañana. Vamos un sitio que no recomiendo ni a mi peor enemigo.

Qué pena ver en lo que se está convirtiendo la Taberna Tempranillo —a la que he ido una docena de veces y siempre con cariño—. En esta ocasión me encontré con ese Madrid que ya no es Madrid, sino un decorado para turistas con euros y cámaras. Hice cola desde las 19:30, esperando el primer turno de las 20:00 porque no aceptan reservas. Pero cuando por fin crucé la puerta, no me dejaron sentarme hasta que llegaran mis acompañantes, qué llegaron 7 minutos después y nos tuvimos que quedar en la barra. Ni una mínima deferencia, ni una sonrisa, ni el recuerdo de que algunos llevamos años sosteniendo el alma de estos lugares cuando aún no eran templos de Instagram y cuando lo pasaron mal en la pandemia. Probablemente éramos de los pocos españoles en toda la sala. Todo el ambiente tenía ese aire de Madrid traducido al inglés, donde la autenticidad se sirve fría y la cortesía se ha cambiado por rotación de mesas calculando el euro por minuto. No éramos los únicos en notarlo: una pareja en la barra, también local, murmuraba con resignación la misma sensación de desarraigo. Qué lástima que lugares con tanta historia se hayan vendido al Madrid de los tumultos, al ruido del dólar y la propina fácil. No niego que los extranjeros tengan derecho a disfrutarlo, pero ojalá sus dueños recordaran que no hay nada más triste que un restaurante que olvida quién le dio su alma.

El personal parece disfrutar haciendo suposiciones descuidadas sobre sus clientes extranjeros. Para ser un restaurante en una zona turística, da la impresión de que ven a cualquiera que no hable español como alguien fácil de aprovechar. El servicio fue bastante lento, aunque la comida no estaba nada mal. Desafortunadamente, el personal empezó a hablar a nuestras espaldas. Bastante descarado, considerando que solo en Estados Unidos hay más personas que hablan español que toda la población de España. Sumamente poco profesional.

Desafortunadamente, nuestra primera hora en Madrid fue un poco desgarradora: fuimos al bar de tapas recomendado por los lugareños, nos encantó la comida, el ambiente, todo, pero al final del servicio, solo quedaba un hombre atendiéndonos a las 23:45. Le pedimos la cuenta; no estaba lleno, solo unas pocas parejas, pero nos hirió al ignorarnos e ir a hablar con otra pareja (¡que NO había pedido la cuenta, ya que la señora estaba en el baño!). Se puso a cantar canciones con ellos, a charlar con ellos, y cuando le pregunté: '¿Por qué nos ignoraste y fuiste a hablar con otras personas?', me dijo que no hablaba inglés (¡después de haberlo hablado toda la noche!) y que teníamos que esperar (¡¡)! ¿Por qué? ¿Querías decirle a la gente que acababa de llegar a Madrid que no los respetabas? ¡Lo hiciste! ¿Deberías trabajar en un lugar tan especial? ¡No deberías! Otra pareja me pidió disculpas y les di las gracias. Por favor, revisen las cámaras de seguridad de su restaurante: una pareja feliz disfrutando de su tiempo, agradeciendo al personal, ¡y luego siendo ignorada por una persona muy, muy desagradable! ¡Qué vergüenza!

Saben la diferencia entre sínvergüenza y sin vergüenza? El segundo es que se explaya y no se corta ante ninguna situación. Y el primero? Criticar de forma soez y soberbia a un consumidor por pedir un tinto de verano y a otros clientes por un refresco. El camarero, encargado o dueño de este sitio muestra las dos habilidades. Ahora entiendo las críticas a doquier hacia su persona Se puede ser un winelover y el grupo lo éramos o no y apetecerte un tinto de verano en un momento dado. Cada uno que beba cuando quiera como quiera y lo que quiera. Aprovecho para comentar que en la icónica Bodegas Rosell, su dueño (ex-nariz de oro de España) te sirve su tinto de verano con vinos como Colegiata Joven, Primero  de Fariña, Borsao...y están que te mueres.... Hasta nunca señor sin vergüenza y sinverguenza!. Será por tabernas!

Lo peor que te puede pasar en la vida es creerte algo . Y la actitud del Sr- chico de la barra es para no creérsela . El trato al cliente es el el peor de Madrid . Lo tendréis lleno , pero sois unos mal encarados y maleducados . Será por sitios y comida buena en Madrid . Para vosotros y vuestros amigos, la taberna .

As tourists we were pressured into tipping at this place at the end of a meal - beware if you are speaking in what can be perceived as American accented English! We actually visited this place more than once during our two-week stay in Spain. The food is excellent and adventurous, and the vibe is convivial. From the first visit we did notice service was incredibly slow for us and the Spaniards who arrived after us were getting served before us. We thought since we’re on vacation anyway and as foreigners we shouldn’t be too demanding. The food was great and a bit different from the standard tapas fare you get elsewhere. We had no issue otherwise in our first two visits (served by Oscar who was praised in a few reviews). However in our last visit we had a different server. The service was frankly ok, not atrocious but not great in any way. When he brought the bill over he wouldn’t punch in the number indicated (73€) and kept saying service is not included. My husband was confused at first as we thought tipping is not mandatory in Spain. Eventually he said the server can add 5€ to the bill, which he did. Really left a terrible taste in our mouth. The two tables next to us were Italian and German, respectively, and I am pretty sure they were not specifically asked to tip in this way. We were singled out likely because we were speaking in North American accent English (we are Canadian). I would caution anyone against this place.
