Brooklyn Organic Kitchen is highly praised for its delicious food, especially the vegan options, and generous portions. Customers rave about the friendly staff, particularly Garrett. The only consistent downside mentioned is the acoustics, as it can get loud.

Excellent service, clean ingredients, fresh taste, definitely will keep coming here.
Red Rocket Salad was AMAZING. ORGANIC VEGAN RASPBERRY COFFEE CAKE WOW... Great food selection, smoothie, juices and more. Friendly owner and staff. Nice outside seating looking over lake. I highly recommend this place. ,👍😋
Excellent food. Huge portions. Pricey but you get two meals out of one order. Great baked goods. Fantastic service. Lovely family who owns the business. Only down size is the acoustics… it’s loud in there. VEGAN CHEF!!!
I have come here a few times, enjoyed myself with family. The beverages are amazing, I especially love the hot chocolate. The food is vegan focused but still tasty (most things). Its a cute place for a casual outing or a date!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is so friendly and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely fantastic—delicious and well-prepared. The service was top-notch, and we never felt rushed at any point during our visit. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and a pleasant dining experience.
The food is amazing! Vegan, gluten free and tastes better than what you consider "regular" food. Our waitress was helpful, attentive and fun. It's our first time coming and we loved it. Right across from the lake, great spot. The atmosphere is more like a friends house, family room more than a restaurant. Sandra came out to greet us. Made us feel like we're more than just customers. The iconic cinnamon roll was definitely worth the trip. Hot agave chicken and waffles were delicious! This may very well be our new Saturday or Sunday spot. Portion sizes are huge!!!
This is such an incredible place to get delicious yet healthy food. The ambience, staff, and food are all top notch and I can't wait to eat here again. I especially love all the vegan options! I had the vegan cinnamon roll, vegan brosti, and vegan reuben and can say that all of them were incredibly delicious. If you are looking for a great lunch, brunch or breakfast restaurant to enjoy high quality food, this is your spot.
We love BOK - all Mother’s Days, lunches with friends and family, or just casual cups of coffee or matcha happen there. In the summer we love to sit outside, and we also love the vibes of their interior - really feels like Brooklyn. What my family loves the most is their extensive gourmet vegan/plant based menu. They even serve Chunk (that vegan steak that many people don’t even know about)! We also love their pastries - some vegan, some gluten-free, some both. When we take out non-vegan friends there, they can choose from the “regular” menu, but they often check the plant based options as well and they can’t believe how tasty everything is. Just yesterday, my friends and I had a late lunch there, and as always, everything was scrumptious, and the vibes great! Thank you for bringing the best part of Brooklyn to Mahopac!
Oh my goodness- I was not expecting this gem to be here while I was adventuring on a close by bike trail. This spot has regular and vegan options and they went above and beyond with having a whole different section of the menu for vegan options. They have vegan drinks, deserts, appetizers, and meals that are so delicious and the portion sizes are huge. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The space is well decorated, clean, spacious, and so charming.
Love this place! I try to go there at least once a month or so as I do not live close (or else I'd go every day LOL). Love all the dairy free (vegan) options they offer especially the desserts! The staff is amazing, so kind and so attentive. Can't wait for my next time! See you soon, BOK! 💖
We had a great meal. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the vegan and traditional menus since our party of three had two vegans. We’ll definitely be back. The vegan Ruben sandwich and the mushroom calamari plate to share are worth the drive across the county!
My family and I absolutely LOVE it! The food is delicious and large servings. Everything on the menu is well thought out to satisfy any craving. The fresh baked muffins are amazing! Everything is prepared fresh daily and its organic. Enjoy!
Y’all!!! This place is so good. The fluffiest French toast I’ve had in a long time. The flavors all complemented each other deliciously. I needed y’all to see the middle of that toast so I took a picture haha! It was perfect. I added the fruit on top and it was just wonderful. The staff are attentive, sweet and kind. 10/10!! Also, great music at a great volume.
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience the staff was all friendly and the food was amazing! There were so many great vegan food options! But even better than the food was our server Garett! He was so friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The only downside is we live so far away. Will definitely make the journey to come again!
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food is outstanding, with top-notch quality that truly shines through. They don’t just focus on premium ingredients; the portions are generous as well! My kids and husband were absolutely thrilled with every dish. The gluten-free and dairy-free options were among the best we've encountered anywhere. The owner and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, enhancing our visit even more. We only wish there was a location closer to home! Highly recommend!
Had an opportunity to come to Peekskill to try this amazing restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had a classic chicken parm with a mix of regular and sweet potato fries and an all vegan Cesar salad. Afterwards we enjoyed a vanilla gelato and a vegan cinnamon roll sized to be shared. Absolutely quaint place with outside dining. Thank you Garett and the rest of the staff for the warm welcome and great food.
UNBELIEVABLE vegetarian and vegan eats with a creative menu and portions sized like if they were Super Mario after he ate the super mushroom. This place serves up organic, traditional, vegan (but also vegetarian and can basically turn almost anything into gluten free upon request). You want it, just say it. They can mix and match and adapt to your dietary needs which is so awesome especially when sitting down with a group of dietary alternative friends. It makes it easy and anyone can order what they want without feeling bad (physically and emotionally haha). Where do I even BEGIN with the food, the true star of the show. Came here with a dear friend that wanted to treat us to lunch and I was convinced I wanted to go the bowl route but when I saw chicken and waffles with fried oyster (I think) mushrooms instead of chicken, I was SOLD. This is such a hard one to ever be able to order since the only substitution they’ll ever give you is fruit, or simply just a Belgian waffle. Not at Brooklyn Organic Kitchen. You order, they DELIVER. And my deliver I mean SLAY. Wow wow wow. Please look at my mushroom chicken and waffles, a work of art drizzled in this hot agave syrup with a kick. Just a touch. I told you the portions were super Mario size and just take a look at it, double “chicken” double waffle. You can order and share because the sizing here is huge. Yes, the prices are a little bit more elevated but you’re also paying to eat organic food, with (almost) any dietary restriction possible. I also tried the vegan Philly cheese steak and my brain isn’t doing well at comprehending HOW that mushrooms cut looked like meat. My brain is unwell at how they got it just RIGHT. From the flavors, to the portions to the presentation BOK is an incredible gem that I’m so glad we got to discover thanks to our friend. We left full, satisfied and with to go boxes but my belly was happy the next day getting to enjoy waffles (with fruit this time) right from home. It probably won’t be possible for you to leave room for dessert since they kind of don’t even let you leave with any room for even breathing after enjoying delicious homemade food BUT, if you so were inclined to or even managed to masterfully leave room for dessert (super Mario size), they do have muffins, cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, cupcakes - all kinds of things. Can’t wait to give those a try next time. We will try to think ahead and share so we can actually leave room for dessert **challenge accepted**.
I had an early lunch here yesterday and it blew all my expectations out of the water. The food was absolutely incredible in both quality and taste. I had the oyster mushroom "chicken" sandwich and it was heavenly. The entire vegan menu was very unique and scrumptious sounding. My server, Garrett, took hospitality to the next level. And the beautiful ambiance made it very difficult to leave.
I came here for brunch with a group of friends on a Sunday and had a great time. The place is clean and very straight forward, relaxed dining area. We had the mushroom calamari which was good but the breading was a little salty. I had the steak panini with arugula and goat cheese which was good but very heavy. The staff were really nice and friendly. It's nice that they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options for both their sweet and savory foods. The price is a bit steep even by NYC prices.
So I want to start by saying the flavors are the only reason why I'm even giving them 3 stars. All the flavors were fantastic. Everything else, not so great. In fact, just bad. We sat down and waited less than ten minutes for a drink order. Not horrible. Then twenty before food order was taken. Insane. We sat down at 1130 for brunch and didn't get our food until 1244 and it all came out sporadically. The $5 cup of coffee was coffee water and had no flavor. Oh, and they charged us a dollar for cream... at a brunch spot. The kids ordered the pancakes and they were the driest pancakes I've ever received eating out. So bad that my son who doesn't eat syrup couldn't handle it and barely ate. I ordered the Ruben. Again, flavor was great. It was the toughest pastrami I've ever eaten. I had to bite it and then rip it apart with my fingers to eat it. Then I thought to just use a knife and fork but the plate they give it to you on is barely big enough to hold the sandwich and fries leaving no choice but to make a mess. I also don't mind "natural" ketchup but theirs is not good and no one told me that's what I was going to get when I just asked for ketchup. My wife's food was soggy including their idea of a house salad which is soggy vegetables and arugula. No lettuce of any kind. The place is insanely expensive for all the issues even considering the better ingredients. I never mind spending money as long as the product justifies the cost. Especially timing issues when they were no busier than your average diner Sunday morning. Not a place I'll run back to. Oh but whoever played the Grinch did a great job.
