After being in Mammoth on and off for the last two months while my husband worked, we’ve tried so many places — and I can’t believe I only found Bar Sierra at the end of our stay! We came here two days in a row because the food was just that good. The ribeye was phenomenal — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Being from SoCal, we’re spoiled with tons of food options, but this place absolutely hit the mark. My daughter loved the ribs — the meat literally fell off the bone. Next time we’re in town, we’ll definitely be back!
Loved the food and the staff. It was a wonderful evening. Highly recommend the mussels and warm Brie, they’re delicious.
Cool spot, good service. I was in burger mood which was good, but they had quality fancier items - both daily specials and menu items. Healthy options too. Plenty of TVs. Lots of space. Clean.
I’ll be honest, I have hesitated before posting this review. I think Bar Sierra is one of the best kept secret in Mammoth lake for good food, atmosphere and tap beers. Located in a beautiful and large A-frame style house, this restaurant offers a short but great menu with a couple of vegetarian option such as the collard melt that has became one of my favorites when going to Mammoth. They do organize a few trivia night and host from time to time live music. The space besides being gorgeous also offer a side arcade game room that makes it an instant success for kids (and parents)
We got pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, fries, and Mac n cheese and brisket. The food was delicious. Waiter was amazing.
I forget what the double patty burger is called but wow. Definitely coming back here for that next time I’m in Mammoth.

My fav happy hour spot in Mammoth! Delicious food, great deals and kind waitstaff
Not sure why this place is rated just 3.8 right now. Service was great and the food was amazing. Much better than anything we had at other places around town. Would have eaten there again if there would have been time!
Not sure why it has such low reviews. Sometimes gruff service and no host means it’s jockeying for tables a bit. Food is fine, nothing super special but beats Mexican or pizza. Arcade games for the kids is a total win for a somewhat relaxing adults dinner!
The food is delicious! The happy hour prices are fantastic! Great service and I love the decor and vibe. The new menu was a great choice. A must go when you are in town!
This is an echo from my hotel review, but deserves to be shared here. Bar Sierra made my experience. After checking into Outbound after a long day on the road, I walked over to Bar Sierra for dinner and and was immediately impressed with the service - particularly Will, who greeted me from behind the bar and made excellent recommendations for both food and beverage. He is simply very good at what he does - detail oriented, knowledgeable, and takes great care. My dinner (kale salad with salmon) and mezcal cocktail were both fantastic. (I lived in NYC for 16 years; so trust me I am a food snob). The chef knows what he is doing. From my understanding, this place has changed hands a few times, but it’s finally found itself in good ones. Five stars all around.
I just love this undiscovered gem in Mammoth Lakes! We went two nights in a row and everything was great. Had a special 1/2 barbecued chicken that was wonderful. Second night had salmon that was wonderful. Will and Iaona provided very attentive service.

Good fresh food, diverse menu, and lively vibe. Have eaten here a few times and food did not disappoint. Friendly staff and good drinks and beer menu. Atmosphere is fun and welcoming with a mix of bar and table seating. There is a game room in the back.
Ordered Bombay chicken flatbread and though I was skeptical, it was amazing. It has a very subtle curry taste with great combination of crunch coming from onions. Service could be better. We weren’t served water for 15 min and order was also messed up slightly. But other that would highly recommend this place.
Nice place with love music and a nice fireplace 5/5 Pulled Pork Slider (would reorder) 2/5 Hot chicken sandwich - overfried and wasn't really spicy 3/5 Fries - the fries were cooked to perfection, the problem was that the seasoning was overdone and way too salty. Needed to dunk in ketchup to eat 3/5 Espresso Martini

Some dishes are pretty good like their salads. My steak was junk. I can make better steak in a toaster oven. Drinks were reasonably good. Staff is aloff. Overall this place is in the 3 to 4 out of 5 range.
Bartenders are super nice, servers are equally so. Food's not the healthiest, but it's darn good. The weekly soup is really excellent. So are the brisket nachos and the platters.
This review is for a server that felt she needed to make a presence not the actual GREAT server we had. I truly wish this review could be different, because Bar Sierra has a fun atmosphere and the food itself has always been decent. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was overshadowed by one staff member who made the experience genuinely unpleasant from start to finish. There is a particular waitress—older, very skinny, wearing obvious fake glasses—who never gives her name and seems to go out of her way to make guests feel unwelcome. The moment we were seated, she acted annoyed, and before we even had a chance to order, she came by and removed the menus from our table without a word. She never checked on us, never came around to take orders, and when we eventually had to go up to the bar to order our own drinks and food, she rolled her eyes at us as if we were inconveniencing her. It didn’t stop there. At one point, she openly talked negatively about our party within earshot of others—completely unprofessional and honestly shocking for any restaurant, let alone a place in Mammoth where hospitality is usually top-notch. This wasn’t a one-time moment of stress or a busy-night slip. Her attitude was consistently rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. It’s disappointing and honestly embarrassing behavior for a place that should be focused on creating a welcoming environment for visitors. I hope management takes this seriously, because Bar Sierra could be a great stop—but as long as this staff member continues treating customers this way, it’s impossible to recommend the experience.
We had dinner here on a weeknight (tonight, the night of my post). Service was fine, food was fine. Our annoyance was with the children running around everywhere. There was a table with a young child whose parents thought it was fine to let the child stomp on a wooden platform near us for 15 minutes. Thank God their food finally showed up, so the child stopped the stomping. Then there were some kids running in and out of the kitchen (owners/managers/workers kids? Don't know but can they stop running around screaming during business hours?) If you don't mind dining at a day care, then it's fine. Frankly we don't think we'll be back.

Service was great - staff were friendly and attentive. The room itself is very nice. Food not so much. Overcooked, took forever to come out, and wasn't hot. Maybe it was because they were about to switch over to their 'club night' but that's no excuse for mid food in a resort town. Tough go with so many good options around.
Food was overpriced for what we ordered. Service was good though. We ordered a burger (it was a little greasy), chicken salad was not very big and was $18. Chicken was a little dry and didn’t have much dressing. Churro dessert was tasty. Total bill was $70.
I ordered ribs , Mac and cheese, corn bread and chicken. The ribs were dry no sauce, the mac was dry looked old and I never got my corn bred that I paid for. $60 waste of money will not eat there again.

The staff was rude and we waited 45 minutes between someone taking our order and the food being made. I would excuse the wait if the food had at least been good, but it was terrible. Avoid at all costs.
Under staffed and an absolute gong show inside. Servers are either rude or simply over worked or both. I feel bad for them, management needs to do better.
