I’ve been here a few times now and had an amazing experience every time. The staff are super friendly and helpful with recommendations. I opted for the vegan chicken bites, salt & pepper chips, egg fried rice and curry sauce. Really generous portion sizes and super filling. Definitely a must if you’re in Manchester

We went for the lunchtime special. As a Coeliac I have been missing and have been craving a proper English style Chinese takeaway, this filled the gap. The full gluten free menu is brilliant and I was able to order all my comforting favourites, from sweetcorn soup to salt and pepper chips. I agree this isn’t exactly authentic Chinese food, but it brought back fab memories of Saturday night Chinese takeaway as a kid. The lunch special is great value for money, even including a small beer or wine for the price. The staff were welcoming and easy going, I will definitely be back.

OUTSTANDING! I came here last night with a friend. I'm very happy. The welcome at the reception was very warm. Waitress are friendly and helpful. Food is superb, very tasty and good portions. The best at the end, when the lady working at the reception, came asking if everything was all right, and she called me using my name. That is the 'go the extra mile'! Excellent job thank you!

We visited The Blue-Eyed Panda and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and everything arrived on time. The service was excellent—very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was calm, cozy, and beautifully set up. We’re really happy we decided to come here. Highly recommend!

Professional service, positive reception, delicious food! The spicy noodles was a good portion and the flavours were bold and so tasty, I had to order some rice to enjoy the sauce more! The waitress was delightful and I was comfortable in their high-back booth seats, creating some privacy and enjoying the plenty of light that comes from their large windows.

Always a great time at Blue Eyed Panda, the service is on point and I enjoy the food there. The place is not pretentious and has a nice vibe to it. Great place to go to share a few dishes. They also have a selection of Soju.

Well oh well Blue eyed panda! Absolutely blown out the water with how tasty the food was, we had the mock duck and mock chicken and wow, from the first bite pure flavour! Staff super friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for anymore, keep up the good wok, with performances like this the pandas will be fully populated in no time.

Really friendly staff, accommodating to allergies! I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing service, I came in recently and I had a really nice experience, we had a nice female server, who happened to have the same shellfish allergy as me, and she explained they were able to cook everything in separate oils/ what she eats here. This was really reassuring to hear as I have been anxious to order Chinese food for the past two years since developing my allergy but it was lovely! We will be returning, thank you again :) Emily

Food, atmosphere and customer service was excellent. We chose this place based on the reviews and location to St Peter's. The portions were great, me and my partner had a starter and main course each and there was more than enough. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and staff attentive and polite. Cleanliness was good in the bathroom. I really enjoyed our meal here and hope to come again.

The food and atmosphere was superb. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. There is usually a wait because of their exceptional Cantonese dishes so it's always advisable to call ahead of time before visiting. You would love it.

Had dinner here one evening with friends. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere, the staff member who took our order was very helpful with info about the menu items, and adjusted one dish to be less spicy. The food arrived quickly, although it wasn’t a very busy night. The food was delicious! The salt and pepper aubergine was so flavoursome. There are lots of veggie and vegan options, including mock duck pancakes. Overall I’m so glad to have found this place and will definitely go back!!

Probably my favourite Chinese restaurant. Lovely food, reasonably priced and generous portion sizes. The decor is beautiful, authentic and atmosphere in general is really relaxing. Service is always friendly and the staff are very attentive and welcoming. Lots of nice little touches like the menu presentation, crockery and cutlery. I could go on!

Visited for an early dinner on a Sunday, without a reservation. We’ve been here a few times before and really like the variety in the menu and how fresh everything is cooked/tastes. Would recommend our starters - the har gow, salt and pepper ribs. We share a mixed vegetable fried rice with our mains and to be honest, which was ok but not different/better enough that we’d do the same in the future rather than fried rice or noodles. My main was kind prawns in oyster sauce and it was amazing, with everything cooked well and my husband really enjoyed his mixed with black pepper sauce. Drinks are on the slightly pricier side but overall, prices are ok. Some of the serving staff are friendlier than others, but that’s often the way. Would definitely recommend.

Just The best Chinese food ever. Amazing quality, beautiful flavours and piping hot. Probably the best Chinese food that I have ever eaten. Thank you to our waitress Cathy.

We were fans of the take away predecessor of the Blue Eyed Panda so after our recommendation, we went with friends a few weeks after the opening of the new restaurant. We were unsure about how much to order, as it can be difficult to gauge portion sizes with new restaurants and, dare I say, especially with Chinese restaurants. Erring on the side of caution... we over ordered. Please see the photo attached to get an indication of how much we ate. However, this doesn't do it justice. The food was so good we ate to the point of not needing to eat again for 24 hours. Between the 4 of us, we polished off 5 starters, 6 mains and some sides. I forget how many sides due to the food coma. I really hope they don't misinterpret our weekend-ending gluttony as a reason to make the portions smaller; it's just their own fault for making it so tasty. Staff were very friendly and just attentive enough without being invasive (shout out to the Bolton lad who said his job was to guide us away from sweet & sour chicken). If you're in Manchester, it's definitely worth hopping off at New Islington tram stop and having the best Chinese I've had since to moving to Manchester years ago.

Pleasant restaurant, clean and lovely staff. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The restaurant provides dishes for vegetarians such as crispy mock beef which I had and it was amazingly tasty.

Lovely little Chinese restaurant in Ancoats. Had a great meal, the service was very good and very reasonably priced. The salt and pepper cod was especially good! Definitely recommend!

My all-time favourite Chinese restaurant in the whole of Manchester. Older review: Visited on a Saturday afternoon and there was lots of available seating. Food was really nice and the staff were friendly and efficient. It's very reasonably priced and serves draft Asahi.

Very tasty meal and super nice staff. Has some delicious chinese specialties and some other dishes more adjusted to the UK. The staff answered our questions and helped with suggestions when we were in doubt. Very pleasant and relaxed experience. Will return. The only thing I would suggest would be reduce the quantity of light to make environment more cosy.

Definitely worth to try! It has the authentic Chinese taste. Crispy duck is the best. It's very hard to find Chinese restaurant around this area and this is a good one.

This has to be the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester — and arguably one of the top 10 Chinese dining experiences in the UK. Every dish I tasted was absolutely out of this world. When I visit a Chinese restaurant, I always judge the quality by the egg fried rice — and here, it was so good it could be eaten entirely on its own. It genuinely felt like the chef was cooking at a Michelin star level. A big thank you to Lilly and Patricia for making the experience even more special.

The food was really good. The service was excellent. The portion sizes were slightly smaller than expected. The washroom area was clean. I would still recommend this place to friends.

For me it’s always a great experience when I go to the restaurant Food is always fresh , massive serving, staff is lovely However delivery via Uber always disappoints with smaller quantity and more pricy than restaurant Please look into it

So I’ll start with bad stuff and that is the meat sizes are very small and not adequate to the price you pay. Paid £15 for beef dish and got very small amount of beef. It’s a bit overpriced considering it just comes with veggies and sauce. Except of that everything was good. Also chicken is cooked very weirdly as I presume it’s boiled ? It looks almost raw. Service was very nice and a good place overall.

Blue eyed panda offers a wide selection of Asian cuisine that is delicious. 🤤 The staff were friendly and helpful. To give a more robust and honest opinion I need to visit again and try a few other dishes. I scored them a 4 ⭐ because I wasn’t blown away but I was impressed with their food.

Chinese restaurant on the edge of city centre. Restaurant isnt huge but it still fits a decent number of people. Menu has a wide variety of dishes such as a small selection of dim sum, rice or noodle dishes and normal main dishes. Tried the dim sum platter and there were only 4 dim sums so it's not really worth the price. The xiao pong bao filling was a bit weird as it was very mushy. Special fried rice: taste was good and had a lot of ingredients. slightly on the smaller side for portion size but still ok. Monk fish bowl: taste was good but portion size was quite small. The fish and onions was fragrant and juicy. Beef brisket in curry sauce: the beef brisket was tender and juicy. Portion size was also on the smaller side but not too bad. In general, the taste was decent (except for the xiao long bao) but portion sizes were a bit small for the price. I would probably advice ordering at least 3 dishes between 2 people. 10% Service charge added to the final bill.

Nice asian restaurant, that stays open until late during the week! It has variety of options and our waitress was very polite! If you are near Ancoats, it deserves a visit!

I ordered Deep fried crispy squid as a starter and the chef’s Special mixed grill Sirloin steak, chicken, fish and King prawns as the main course. I was given prawn crackers and they were lovely as for a change there was no hint of dirty oil. I loved them. I loved my starter and then the main course arrived. I have never eaten Chinese food with a knife and fork but I had to this time. The mixed grill was as it said steak, chicken and fish and these were large pieces that needed to be cut before been eaten. All very nice to eat and it was served with stir fried spaghetti and vegetables. I will come back and try some more traditional Chinese dishes. I am sure that once they have been open for a while that the next review will end up as a 5 star but at the moment the restaurant is all new but it does not take away from the quality of the food. Another very good restaurant in Ancoats.

We ordered delivery from Blue Eyed Panda. The food is very tasty and excellent quality of ingredients. The drawback is that it is a bit pricey for the quantity of food, there's not a huge range of options compared to other Chinese restaurants, and the dumplings didn't quite survive the delivery drivers bike ride from the restaurant.

This was a First Table deal so very hard to find fault when the prices were so reasonable. Great location, quick service and the food was well above average for a Chinese.

M

Overall, it was just an okay experience. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Service was kinda slow, especially since there were only a few people there. The vibe was nice though, if you just want a chill spot for a quick meal.

Nice place & friendly staff but food was just average at best. We had Gluten free mains so maybe that's why but even still for the price it was just bland. Special mention to how bad the chips were also.. pretty disappointing wouldn't go back.

A Mixed Experience at Blue Eyed Panda - Decent Food, but Some Room for Improvement Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My recent visit to Blue Eyed Panda left me with mixed feelings about the overall experience. While there were some positive aspects, there were also areas where improvement is needed. Here's my honest assessment: Upon entering Blue Eyed Panda, I was greeted by a charming ambiance that showcased a blend of modern and traditional elements. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff seemed friendly and attentive. However, my dining experience encountered a hiccup when we received two servings of the same dish instead of the two different dishes we had ordered. This mix-up resulted in some confusion and disappointment. Although we were hungry and didn't want to make a fuss, the lack of attention to detail in the kitchen was evident. Moving on to the food itself, while it was decent overall, it didn't leave a lasting impression. The flavors were satisfactory, but nothing stood out as exceptional or unique. The dishes lacked that extra touch that sets a dining experience apart from the rest. It felt like there was room for improvement in terms of creativity and presentation. Furthermore, the service was average at best. While the staff was polite, there were instances where attentiveness seemed lacking. It took a while for our orders to be taken, and we had to request refills for our drinks multiple times. These small lapses in service detracted from the overall experience. Blue Eyed Panda has potential, but there are areas that need attention in order to elevate the dining experience. Improving the attention to detail in the kitchen and refining the flavors to make them more memorable would greatly enhance the overall impression. Additionally, ensuring prompt and attentive service would contribute to a more satisfying visit. In conclusion, Blue Eyed Panda offers a pleasant ambiance, but there were noticeable shortcomings in the dining experience. While the food was decent, it didn't surpass expectations, and the mix-up in our order was disappointing. With some adjustments and improvements, Blue Eyed Panda has the potential to become a standout dining destination. If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs-up. Let's encourage Blue Eyed Panda to take feedback constructively and work towards providing a more exceptional dining experience in the future. 🐼🍽️👍

I honestly feel like a bit of a mug paying £15 per main item for something so underwhelming. We ordered a takeaway. The crispy beef tasted very bland and possibly burnt. The stir-fried vegetables were very soft and drenched in garlicky water. Sadly a case that cost isn’t necessarily an indicator of quality. My parents dined in here in 2023 and were very happy, so maybe we were just unlucky.

We got takeaways on deliveroo. The packaging was awful, and some of our food spilt. Food was okay (on average 6/10). However, I got an extremely upset stomach. I got the Singaporean vermicelli noodles which had prawns so I wonder if it could be that, because my fiance got the beef chow mein and was okay.

Mix up with booking as they gave us incorrect information on the phone before we booked. Got there but didn't stay so unable to score food, but they weren't very helpful so 0 for service. Check all details beforehand especially with regards to any discounts advertised. Restaurant was empty at 7.30pm on a Sunday night, not sure why. We went to A-plus in Chinatown instead, food was fantastic there and the place was packed!

So I’m actually attempting to find something good about this place if there was a -5 I would give it but unfortunately I’m stuck on 1, when I say poor that’s an understatement there’s a rip-off service in which they actually claim that you can get 50% off and you can’t I was wondering why the place was so empty especially with the new January deals out there and then I realised everything they serve is out of frozen bag and just put into fry and give them to us and I’ll prove it. I’ll send you a picture of the amount I paid against what I was served and you can work it out for yourself but if you wanna have a really bad night out, poor food and awful awful environment this is your place. Poor’ very poor Simply…overpriced, not value for money against the food served, much better alternatives out there. It’s hard to fathom what this place actually serves as foodI’ out experience today was poor’ the food was either over cooked or over flavoured with no consistency. I do like the light and airy environment’ it’s very refreshing.

B
Ben Baker

The chicken chow mein and garlic & chilli beef I had was plain and flavourless, and tasted very artificial. The garlic chilli beef was also very watery. For close to £15 each this is even more disappointing. Can't recommend it at all.
