Beautiful space! We came here for a birthday dinner (in August) and really enjoyed it! The wine selection was delicious and the food were all so well made. The lamb chop, French beans and the ‘hash browns’ were the stars of the show!!

I couldn’t be more happier, me and my partner went there for our anniversary dinner, 10/10…all the food surprised us, especially the lamb!!!! So soft and doesn’t taste strong as you know some lamb has really syringe meaty flavour, but they make it so well, I was super happy that I came here. And the place is so nice, all tables are next to the window so you can have a lovely Manchester view with the lovely food. I enjoyed it so much, and defo come back again.

Outstanding food, gorgeous views over Manchester, and service that’s warm and genuinely friendly. Climat delivers on every front – can’t wait to come back!

One of best meals I have had in Manchester. Everything was incredible from start to finish. Good service, huge wine selection but the food is just amazing. Duck vol-au-vents, hash browns, beef tartare and monkfish were all fantastic but the leek and the lamb were the stars of the show for me. Love that the menu changes daily and enjoyed sitting at the kitchen counter and watching the food being cooked. Definitely recommend

Enjoyable experience all in all. The dishes are presented intricately and are nicely crafted. I had the hash brown, cured bream (tasted like perfume-marinated fish but in a good way! Refreshing herb pairing), and the hogget leg as the main. Meat is cooked nicely so that it is tender, medium rare with a beautiful pink on the middle. Haven't had this cut before it had a hint of the fl as flavour of lamb but not as strong. It's located on the 8th floor so you get panoramic view of the city as well though it doesn't seem you can head out (?) A nice find in Manchester and I'd love to come and try other fishes some more.

Wow, wow, wow. Climat was absolutely fantastic. Everything was brilliant, so much delicious food, an incredible wine list, and wonderful friendly service; oh and the view of the Manchester skyline isn't too bad either! Definitely one of my top foodie experiences of year, a must visit when you're in Manchester.

We had a really wonderful meal here a couple of weeks ago. We booked very last minute as my heavily pregnant wife still hadn’t given birth! We knew at the time of booking that the only availability were seats at the bar and my wife was happy to book knowing this. When we arrived the staff did absolutely everything they could to find a proper table for us despite us not asking them to. After initially trying without success they moved things around and found a table for us. We were so very grateful. This was indicative of the excellent and friendly service we received throughout the meal. Onto the food and it was all really excellent. Hash browns to die for, excellent produce and the best mash we had ever had. Price wise it does add up as you accumulate dishes but overall s great experience and highly recommend. The baby came the day after snd we hope to revisit soon!

Had an amazing lunch at Climat on 21st December. Interesting menu and great wine selection. All the food we ordered was delicious. Service was excellent - friendly, informal but still professional, knowledgable. All the dishes were great but the oysters, razor clams, venison and ice cream with coldpressed rapeseed & garibaldi biscuits were really outstanding. Comfortable setting with great views over Manchester city centre. Already looking forward to eating here again in the new year.

A fantastic dinner at small plates wine bar Climat. We the hash browns & taramasalata, gnudi, girolles & cavolo nero, jane's farm pork chop, suffolk lamb, broad beans & anchoïade, and yellow beans, wholegrain mustard & breadcrumbs, accompanied by a Vermentino. Loved our table next to the open kitchen, plus a view!

My son and his wife recently held their small, intimate wedding reception at Climat and everything was wonderful. From the gorgeous cocktails on arrival, the truly fantastic food, to the superb wines and brilliant, helpful staff, the whole event was exceptional. The views across Manchester City centre are amazing; the whole atmosphere was relaxed, yet professional. Thank you to everyone at Climat for looking after the bride and groom, and their guests so well. We will definitely return :)

Second visit, and Climat still delivers. Great vibe, great food, easily one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. Prices have crept up since last year, but the quality and finesse have definitely risen too. The scallop quenelles were outstanding. The trout was cooked to perfection, and the herb-fed chicken was incredibly tender, pairing beautifully with the Albufera sauce. Finished the evening with the beeswax ice cream and warm lemon madeleines

Outstanding. Great location with wonderful views across the city. The service was excellent - attentive without being fussy, and overall friendly. Food was outstanding, probably one of the best menus I’ve seen in Manchester and the quality and taste was perfect. Highly recommend and will be back.

The food was tasty, staff polite, and service good. However, I think the place needs some improvements in the interior — chairs, tables, overall design. At the moment, it feels more like a canteen rather than an upscale restaurant with a view. It lacks atmosphere and coziness.

Went here for dinner last night and everything was excellent. All the waiting staff were so helpful to us from moving our table to outside after we finished our food so we could watch the sunset, to going through the wine menu and helping us decide on our perfect bottle. The food was fantastic. We had hash browns, snails, steak tartare and pork belly and it was all perfect. Would definitely recommend the hash browns.

Had a lovely meal and evening here We had an evening meal on a Saturday. I was a little sceptical before going as the menu isn’t online and being veggie (🙄) I knew there was only going to be one dish on the menu. But I was pleasantly suprised. It was delicious. The service was excellent from the welcome at the door and all staff were chatty and friendly. Excellent wine menu and really knowledgeable staff Couldn’t fault any of the food. Four of us all had something different and everyone was satisfied from the starters to the deserts Would 💯 recommend to go here for a special occasion meal. Really happy we went and had a lovely evening

Climat gets everything right. Great city views, relaxed atmosphere, feels cool without trying. It’s a wine-led restaurant but not in a try-hard way. They serve everything at the right temperature, which I believe is where the name comes from. Food really is excellent. Sourdough, braised carrots, artichoke and beef were all amazing. Service is exceptional, but not over the top. Go for counter seating if you like watching the kitchen. One of the best in Manchester. Always good for something a bit more special.

Absolutely loved Climat for NYE. The food was unreal, we went for the 5-course set menu and every dish landed. Proper wow stuff. Cocktails were spot on, great balance and actually interesting, not just pretty glasses. The vibes were class all night, buzzy without feeling rammed, and the staff were brilliant, friendly, switched on, and made the night feel special. Add in the views over Manchester and it’s hard to fault. We’ll 100 percent be back. If you want a genuinely great meal in the centre of Manchester, this place delivers.

Came here for lunch for a friends birthday. We were in a rush (pre-theatre lunch)! The restaurant staff were super accommodating considering the time constraints. We ordered a selection of small dishes and mains to share with wines suggested by the restaurant sommelier. Our server was so lovely and she was very informative and knowledgeable of the dishes available. There wasn't much of an atmosphere, however, we did arrive just as the restaurant opened. I'm sure it would be much better with more diners. Accessibility wise, when you come through the main door, there is a lift up to the restaurant at the far end. This restaurant is definitely a luxury eat-out option taking into consideration the price per person. I would however recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing plate sharing restaurant. Everything was absolutely brilliant, all the dishes had great texture, interesting flavour combinations, cooked to perfection. Great cocktails too. Staff was nice and friendly, even had a great bar recommendation.

An excellent quality restaurant offering for Manchester. Have been twice & thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The food is really good, a few tweaks & refinements with deserts & meat mains away from excellent. The fish cookery is a standout plus they have a really good array of options for all diets. Personally blown away by the interior design details, it has been really well thought out & they must have spent an absolute fortune on quality fixtures & fittings. The roof top space is beautiful in all weather & either day/night time setting. The music is well curated for my taste & all round acoustics should be commended, you are able to clearly hear the music, still chat & listen to the team. The front of house staff are amazing, attentive & professional. The sommelier is personable & highly skilled. The wine list is good & Burgundy focused.

This is a fancier Manchester spot, but done properly. Nice enough that you don’t feel out of place putting a shirt on, without tipping into that boujee, trying-too-hard vibe (which I actively avoid). The staff and service were exceptional — knowledgeable, warm, and very much hipster-casual rather than stiff. Felt looked after without feeling watched. We went for the Carte Blanche option at £48 per head, giving the chefs free rein. Always a bit of a risk — but absolutely worth it. The hash browns with taramasalata were sublime, even the bread and butter was next level, and everything that landed felt thought-through and top notch. Plenty of food too. The wine list is huge and they’re clearly serious about their wines. It’s harder to find a cheap house option, which knocks value slightly for me — but that’s balanced by how well the team talk you through it without any snobbery. We did splash out a bit as it was our anniversary, and it felt spot on for the occasion. Views at night were a nice bonus, and I’ll definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the terrace and work through more of the food and wine. Verdict: Would go out of my way — ideal for a special occasion or a proper treat night. 🍽️ Paying customer | Honest review

What a great experience! We took my elderly father with us for an overdue birthday celebration and had such an evening with amazing wine. The staff were fantastic, really welcoming and we had such a good meal. We had so many faves throughout the meal. The dishes on the menu were really difficult to choose as wanted then all, from nibbles through to dessert (beeswax ice-cream & earl grey granita - awesome). Thanks everyone, it was brilliant, we will be back.

Absolutely delicious meal, wonderful and friendly service, beautiful setting. I had the pumpkin and pearl barley and it was incredible. I then had the Christmas pudding which was lovely. My friends ordered wine and the sommelier was super helpful, really knowledgeable and just amazingly friendly, not snooty or pretentious at all! I have put just 4 out of 5 for atmosphere as it was quite quiet for a Saturday night before Christmas. But overall, I would happily visit again.

Delicious food, friendly and attentive staff, great atmosphere. We had a selection of plates to share and although I must admit we over-ordered - I think generally you’d be fine with 2 plates per person, the food was delicious. There is a selection of drinks including non alcoholic cocktails. Atmosphere is nice with a lovely view. Would recommend.

Great atmosphere, delicious food. Loved hash brown 10/10, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Hogget leg was amazing, smoky flavour, loved it. The only let down for me was a risotto, tasted a bit sweet but that’s just my personal opinion. Wine recommended by staff( didn’t tell us his name) was fab!

Good place for enjoying the night city view of Manchester. I really loved the lighting stuff of the restaurant. Super nice atmosphere! Food is pretty, and fresh !

Climat is right up there with the best small plates restaurants in Manchester like Erst and Another Hand. The pork chop in particular was amazing - perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Everything else was also very nice, but the pork chop was definitely the highlight. The atmosphere is pretty cool too, with a nice view of Manchester.

The food was incredible, the hash brown tarmaslata and chicken dish were particularly yummy. The staff here are so approachable, genuine and friendly. The Interior is beautiful and has a very relaxed non-pretentious vibe. Staff are so knowledgeable about the menus. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Umd and ahd about visiting Climat for a long while and a pre Christmas treat seemed like a perfect time. Sat at the kitchen and watched 4 chefs at the very top of the game. Brilliant to see things come to life, the service was familiar and friendly and not over the top or overbearing, and made our order easy. All of the wine is available by the glass which is a huge bonus, and the food is simple but brilliant. The pork chop, the beef fat fudge and the hash browns will live long in the memory, will be back soon no doubt. Really recommend getting a counter seat when the view outside is grey and rainy.

Climat was ace. Situated on the top floor, once you leave the lift and enter the dining room you get a great view over the city towards the Town Hall (wrapped in a white cover). We sat opposite the kitchen pass so, could watch the chefs do their thing. The dishes arrived in ascending size order - starting with fresh anchovies. I almost asked for bread but was glad I didn’t. Then came the cuttlefish with squid ink risotto - dark, intense flavours offset by small burst of citrus. Next Jersey Royals with asparagus and Burford Brown eggs - spectacular! Up next, Cavattali with a lovely tomato sauce dressed with wild garlic pesto. The lemon sole in a light Champagne beurre blanc completed the run of dishes. All washed down with a bottle of Riesling. We concluded with a dessert of barbecued raspberries. It was fun watching the chefs produce really great food, so close to our table. And the service was great too - thanks Daisy! Overall, pricey but worth it as a treat.

Very professional cooking here. Simple ingredients and with lots of details, especially the sauces. Ordered 3 appetisers and 2 main courses, all are good (except tartar quite salty and better with beer) and with generous portion size. Totally changed my perception to Manchester restaurants standard. Relax atmosphere and very warm service. A really good place and worth visiting regularly.

We loved this, should definitely have more than 4.3 on Google, we even had a discount with it being January, but would have happily paid full price. We will be back once dry jan is over and we can try the endless list of wine too!

A thoughtful, tasty seasonal menu (we had the set lunch) with a good range of (well recommended) wines. Friendly and attentive service and a super calm open kitchen that worked hard to make a memorable meal. Not cheap by the time we'd paid the food and drinks bill; certainly worth the money we paid. Would return.

A lovely experience with an ever changing menu. Firstly, the location, easy to get to from Victoria Station and on the rooftop with excellent views of Manchester. The staff great you on arrival and the bar is excellent for a cocktail. The menu changes daily and is well thought out and rich with flavour. The staff are well versed with it and able to assist with choices. The setting is beautiful with great decor and plenty of space. A real gem for Manchester and guaranteed to be busy with a great atmosphere.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary in style at Climat following a friend’s recommendation. A warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and stunning food/drinks made for a very special evening. And the views! Even on a gloomy evening. The food was cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully and simply outstanding. The cod was the stand out dish for me, along with the crème brûlée which was light and delicate. We enjoyed meeting a few of the team including Emma and our Semelier who were totally amazing! So attentive, personable and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for making our evening a memorable one. We’ll be back.

Memorable and delicious food, served as small plates. The pork chop with spruce sauce was superb and hopefully will remain on the menu for the foreseeable! (Likewise the rhubarb and custard choux - one of the best deserts I've had in years) As a point to improve upon - as a restaurant which is positioned as 'wine led' Climat could do a lot more to emphasise this. Suggested wine pairings with courses, an in house sommelier to help inform you of your choices etc would all make the experience top notch. (currently the staff don't really know what they're serving and what it's like etc which takes away a touch from the experience. All in all though - wonderful food and we'll be back!

Good restaurant in central Manchester. I'd read about this, and booked it for a date as soon as I had the opportunity to try it after hearing good things, and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is vibrant but non judgemental, the menu concise but refined. We ordered a starter, three mains and an "extra" alongside a bottle of wine which came to £120 with the (arguably) optional service charge, which felt like the standard price for a meal for two, however you could easily spend much more. The wine selection is good, and the dishes, which are sharing plates are familiar while unique enough to be memorable (such as the Beef Tatar, which is served with prawn crackers). A standout for me was the Poussin which was delicious when paired with a side of potatoes. Slightly pink and tender, with a satisfyingly succulent taste. Eating that while viewing the Manchester skyline was a treat, especially given the restaurant is slightly above eye level with other buildings in Deansgate, such as St.Anne's church. I'd highly recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic The flavors were deep comforting and clearly made with love. Their short rib stew was tender enough to eat with a spoon. Warm friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

If you want amazing food, a brilliant view and incredible service, this is the place. Don't bother with the glam of something like Sexy Fish. Come here and have incredible food. We eat out a lot and this is now our favourite restaurant in Manchester.

An absolute gem, the food and service was amazing. Menu has been kept small but in doing so serve excellent food with outstanding flavour. With a large wine selection both by glass and bottle.

Another excellent meal in Manchester, this time at this chic roof top restaurant with panoramic views over the city. Climat is certainly among Manchester’s best restaurants and would highly recommend it after our meal there. We went for their Carte Blanche menu; meaning we were happy to let the chef choose our dishes without knowing them in advance. We were then excited to be served a perfectly balanced 7 course menu that’s clearly focused on the best and freshest seasonal ingredients the north west has to offer. We really enjoyed all dishes served, with the highlight being the perfectly cooked hogget (see photo) which is beautifully balanced with the Romanesco sauce and chickpeas. The restaurant itself is elegant and unpretentious. It was fun to be in the open kitchen & watching these competent chefs in action. Service was also very good with one bearded gentleman (didn’t catch his name) who was particularly knowledgeable and showed a real passion for food and drink. The 7-course Carte Blanche menu costs £55 per person, which is incredible value for money for the quality of food being served & look forward to trying their a la Carte menu sometime in the future.

Beautiful, trendy restaurant with a great vibe. Only 4 star because although the food is very good it needs a little tweaking. The rhubarb on one of the dishes was very overpowering and the steak tartare was overwhelmed by breadcrumbs. Our waiter also seemed weirdly disapproving of us, but the rest of the staff were lovely - and they have a great wine list and sommelier! Pretty sure we’ll be back :)

We celebrated our 8th anniversary in Climat this evening. The restaurant was quite full. This was our first time visiting Climat. The restaurant is located on the top of the building so the view to the city is stunning. We were sat at the top kitchen counter so we were able to see how the food was prepared. We ordered 3 small plates of food & 2 large sharing dishes. The quality of food was okay , it did’nt have any wow factor in our opinion. They have very good selections of wine. The last thing we wanted to mention is we had the same sets of cutlery throughout the dinner, we thought the waiters would replace some fresh plates after having finished a course, but they never did. And they charged 12.5% service.

D
David Farrar

The restaurant has great views over Manchester and our table was lovely. The service, whilst very polite, is slow and conducted at the staffs pace without regard to the customer. The first thing they should do after showing you to the table is ask what you want to drink but here it takes them 10 minutes to ask everyone what sort of water they want and then bring it . I like water but on a Saturday night I want an alcoholic drink. We had been there at least 20 minutes when the waitress told me the food wouldn’t be too much longer( we had pre ordered the food ) - I told her we were rather hoping to get a proper drink before then ! We eventually got a drink about 30 minutes after arriving. A few of us had the haddock starter which consisted of a piece of cold raw fish that tasted of absolutely nothing. The very small amount of sauce did nothing to elevate what tasted like solidified wallpaper paste . The fish main course was OK , nothing startling and the chips were obviously frozen but not as good as McDonalds . For this money - very , very expensive- we expected more . Nice view though.

TLDR: It's okay... Good concept, poorly executed, manager was enthusiastic, waitresses less so, not worth the price. As a restaurant manager myself, I have high standards when going elsewhere, especially when a restaurant has a price tag this high. My boyfriend and I went here for a quiet birthday meal (which was even noted on the booking) this was the first let down, not even a little "happy birthday" comment, I even mentioned to the staff it was my birthday and no fuss was made at all. The menu apparently changes often and I think we caught it on a bad day as most of the dishes were fish based, so as somone who doesn't like seafood I was left with little to pick from. This restaurant is a "tapas style" restaurant where you are recommended to order 4-5 small dishes. Each one is about £6/7. The wine was good, so this was nice. Main meals are at the bottom of the menu and start off at £36 and are told that you have to be prepared to wait up to an hour for these... so it was obvious we weren't going to order any of these. We ordered, and the first dish we got was the bread and olives, which were honestly the most flavoursome items we got. The rest of the food came out in dribs and drabs. the last dish they completely forgot about and had waited almost an hour for that. Table sat next to us with about 5 people on, got all of their food before us, I wasn't happy about this. They also messed up and gave the food meant for the table behind us. Bill came to £175 and left unsatisfied, asked for the 12.5% service charge to be taken off and left a cash tip instead, highly doubt we will come again.

The reviews were so positive, I expected better. The service, the view, the wine and the Comté Gougères were all 5 stars. But the overall vibe of the place and the rest of the food? Disappointing.

T
T K

Honestly really disappointed with the whole night. We booked for New Year’s Eve. We paid almost £200 each and nowhere on our reservation did it say we had a 1.5 hour seating. Who eats at a regular restaurant for that little, let alone with a 5-course meal? I would have expected better service etiquette considering the cost. The servers were really lovely however. I emailed with complaints (there were many) and nobody got back to me. Overall will not be returning.

L
Liv Ellis

We had such high hopes for this place, as we had seen and heard a lot of good things about it. We ordered 6 dishes between 2 of us including a dessert to share so we could get a good feel for the menu. We were so disappointed with the taste and quality of the food, not to mention finding a hair in the beef tartare! This was taken off the bill with an apology from our server, however the manager did not come over to the table to apologise. Aside from this, the service was great, and the venue is lovely, with fantastic views over the Manchester skyline. We enjoy eating out a lot, and personally feel this was one of the most disappointing menus we’ve tasted, with complete lack of flavour, which is absolutely not reflected in the price. Unfortunately we would not return and also would not recommend to our friends.

J
Juno Mir

A complete disappointment. We came to this restaurant with my husband to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was almost empty, which was surprising. However, what shocked me the most was the non-working ventilation system and the strong smell of burning that lingered throughout the entire dinner. We asked to move to a table further away from the kitchen, but the smell was everywhere. Throughout the evening we had to breathe in smoke, and after leaving the restaurant the smell was still everywhere in my hair, on my clothes, and it was impossible to ignore. As a result, when we decided to continue the evening elsewhere, the mood was completely ruined. No one apologised for the situation, and no one offered even a small birthday gesture. The food deserves 2 out of 5. The presentation was beautiful and unusual for England, but the taste was disappointing. The fish and steak were overly bland, while all the starters were extremely greasy. The atmosphere was dull. Later, when more guests arrived, the restaurant became slightly livelier, but overall it felt depressing rather than festive.

t
thecape

This used to be good but it appears lost. There is no atmosphere- it is half empty, the staff are bored, the chef has changed and the menu so limited and tiny. Portions are equally tiny but the prices are large. Like others we left hungry. Service is pretty cold. No vibe to dine in. Others looked keen to leave quick. It is not value for money and the dishes we had were sadly very average. Better places to go in Manchester than this- Stow, Another Hand.. This Restaurant used to be a favourite but now seems dead.
