Unfortunately, I had to miss out on a birthday lunch here. However, my husband and his parents said it was an absolutely lovely experience, overall very cute restaurant, just difficulties with parking as we all know in Manhattan beach. He brought me back a mushroom pizza and the Italian sandwich. As with all Italian sandwiches, I wish it was just a little less bread, but it was so delicious and juicy. The pizza was quite delightful, such a delicious crust cause normally I leave the crust on my plate, but I ate it all this time. Can’t wait to go try it in person.
What a great find! Excellent food in a casual setting. Menu is not huge but they did everything perfect. Linguine with clams was delicious. Chopped salad was perfect. Foccia bread was heavenly. Had a glass of sparkling wine that arrived nice and cold!❤️. The tiramisu was delicious. We are new to the area and can't wait to try another Slay restaurant!
Wonderful service and atmosphere. Celebrated my mom’s birthday here and they take hospitality so seriously! It’s very good to see. The manager was truly amazing, he was so accommodating and caring that we genuinely had a wonderful night here. Thank you! Forgot to take pictures of other dishes we got, but it was great!
I recently dined at Slay and was thoroughly impressed! From the warm, inviting ambiance to the exceptional service, every detail was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying their Risotto —it was unforgettable! Lazaro and Jordan were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a night out with friends, Slay is a fantastic choice. Can't wait to return!
Equal parts fantastic food and fantastic service. Will did a lovely job explaining the menu and specials, and we truly enjoyed every plate. The fig and prosciutto pizza was delicious, and the gluten free menu accommodations were equally tasty. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu. The general manager was charming and it’s obvious that chef really enjoys creating works of art on every plate.
very good restraunt with beautiful seaside view! I enjoying a wonderful time with my familly .we choose to seat outside and see the sunset view.love the pizza and spanish salad, taste good!
I recently dined at Slay Italian Kitchen, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The lasagna and fettuccini pasta were nothing short of delicious; the flavors were exceptional, and the portions were just right. The tuna poke was a pleasant surprise, with its freshness and unique blend of flavors that left me wanting more. To top it off, the tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The ambiance and service added to the overall charm of the restaurant, making it a must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts.
On the eve of my Mom's wrist surgery, Slay was the pre-op meal choice. She broke it playing pickleball a few days prior as she is an absolute warrior. Just picture my peanut of a mother (5'1 on her best day) laying her body on the line for her Tuesday night pickleball group made up of Manhattan Beach moms. I, for one, am proud to be from this bloodline. We arrive at Slay with clear eyes and full hearts, ready to smash some Italian food. We are sat outside and the vibe is what I imagine people expect when they come to Southern California: 70 degrees and sunny while sitting at a restaurant a few blocks up from the sand with the vast Pacific bobbing up and down in the peripheral vision. Our family always orders a margherita pizza as an appetizer, so we couldnt break tradition. Pizza was ultra thinw with fluffy crust, just how I like it hehe. Calamari was a godsend as well and the meatballs also did their thing. Great team performance from the apps. They recently got their liquor license, so you already know I had to crack off on a Spritz. Their Italian Spritz was honestly one of the best I've had in a MINUTE, and that's saying a lot. I think I may be an Aperol Spritz sommelier at this point. The service was fantastic, and much to my chagrin my brother at one point commented to me on how the waitress doesn't break eye contact. I had to pull him aside and give him a little pep talk. "Novos NEVER break eye contact, LOCK IN MIKE!" The spaghetti and meatballs delivered like Pheidippides delivering the news to Athens that they had won the Battle of Marathon. Iconic. Slay is the best kept secret in Manhattan Beach. MANHATTAN BEACH STAND UP!!!!
First visit but not the last. Very enjoyable. Nice decor and layout. One of the few LA restaurants that does not blast loud music. Easy to carry on a conversation. Staff very friendly and helpful about menu items. Not a full bar but they do have a few specialty cocktails and a nice beer and wine selection. The garlic bread was a cheesy loaf with a good garlic taste that came with a spicy tomato dip. The Brussel Sprout appetizer was very good with a nice blend of flavors and sauce. The fresh fettuccine with shrimp was very nice and flavorful with a nice white cheese sauce. The pasta primavera was light and had a nice selection of vegetables. All in all a very nice experience. The pizza looked delicious but that will be for another visit!
So pleasant staff, don't be afraid of asking the advice about your order. Pasta and pizza were soooo delicious. And Americano, it's really hard to find a good one, but we made it. Like count minutes to visit this place again.
Food does not looks like presented on the pictures, but still it is delicious, made and served with love. It is a good place to eat, after long day on the beach. Photos attached
Toasted ravioli were excellent. Pork ragu was good. Service was good. They didn't cheap out on the pork, which is nice. Would have liked a piece or two of bread included with the pasta, without having to pay $10 for focaccia. Atmosphere ok. Prices are a little steep for the pizza and some of the pasta.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The service was hands down wonderful. Molly took great care of us, and was very accommodating with the wine options. The food was exceptional, we got the mushroom pizza, the fettuccine and the orecchiette. Definitely would come back.
What a gem! This was hands down the best Italian food I’ve had in a long time. Everything was excellent—the dishes were full of flavor, the ambiance was charming and inviting, and some tables even offer a beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurant itself is cozy and quaint, which made the experience even more special. Service was absolutely top-notch—thank you for a wonderful evening! I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Slay, who was kind enough to take our picture. Such a down-to-earth and genuine guy!

Good vibes decent food, great service. The food was okay, not superb. The garlic bread was yummy but had barely any garlic taste to it and the salad portion was very small. The fettuccine was good though! Pretty platings. Saturday dinner wasn’t too busy; we were able to be seated without a reservation for two. Our server was caring and nice.
Slay offers a charming atmosphere and a menu with great potential, though a few areas left room for improvement during my visit. • Appetizers: The calamari, while flavorful, was slightly overcooked, and the accompanying zucchini could have been less charred. The Brussel sprouts, though cooked with care, lacked a bit of seasoning to bring out their full flavor. • Atmosphere: While the ambiance was pleasant, the music and overall mood could use a bit more energy to enhance the dining experience. • Main Dishes: • The chicken piccata had a rich buttery flavor but leaned a little on the dry side. • The pasta with cream sauce was satisfying and well-prepared, though it didn’t stand out as much as I had hoped. • The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Osso Bucco. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it’s a dish worth returning for. Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ Slay shows promise with its menu and presentation. A few tweaks to execution could elevate the experience even further.

It was a pleasant experience however the food was overpriced. The penne without any protein as a vegetarian option was $28. Chicken piccata was served with red penne. The focaccia was great!! Enjoyed the burrata and jam. We probably will not go here again. For the price we are paying, the dishes need to be elevated.
Love sitting outdoors with a beautiful view of the ocean in front of me. Unfortunately, the food didn’t measure up. My orecchiette alla Norma was abysmal, and my friend’s chicken piccata was underwhelming. The kids’ pasta with pink sauce was honestly the best thing at the table. Sadly, we won’t be back.

When the garlic bread is the star of the show, then you know we were not happy with our meals. The service was great. Atmosphere fine. There were five of us. Everyone felt the dishes were mediocre. Did the marinara pasta sauce come from a jar?

Was good, not anymore Food average at best. Used to be good but now very bland. Service horrible, they just don’t care. We made reservation outside to celebrate birthday. Went personally to restaurant three times to confirm, when we arrived said ‘ sorry not available, others taking too long’. R u kidding g me? Too many other good spots in MB
We had a reservation for a party of 6 at 7:30 PM for a birthday dinner – and the restaurant was well aware of this when the reservation was made. What followed was nothing short of infuriating. When we arrived, we were told our table wasn’t ready. The staff then claimed the tables designated for us had been seated two hours earlier, which was clearly false. We could plainly see that those guests either had just received their food, were sipping wine with only menus in front of them, or were still actively dining. It felt like a blatant lie. What made it worse was the staff’s complete lack of professionalism or effort. No apology. No solution. No urgency. Just excuses and indifference. They made zero effort to rectify the situation or even acknowledge how unacceptable it was – especially considering this was supposed to be a special occasion. A reservation, especially for a celebration, should mean something. Slay Italian Kitchen failed completely – in both service and integrity. We left disappointed and frustrated, and we will not return.
