Had breakfast here a few times now with the family! Food was excellent service was great and the food came out fast and hot!

First of all I should recuse myself because my name is Dave. We got the Dave's around 10:30 and it was packed as normal. The food was great and the lady on the table next to me allowed me to swap a strawberry and an apple jelly for two of her marmalades. So what's not to be happy. Dave Loftus

The staff is so friendly and it is great for children. The food is delicious and affordable. Such a cozy atmosphere and it has quick service. It is a definite five star!

My local. When asked which toast you'd like, try the muffin upgrade. Specials on the board are always fun, but the pecan Belgian waffle is perfect, straight up.

Dave's Diner is by far the best family owned restaurant (if not the best overall) in the Manlius region. During our remodel projects out here my crew and I have eaten here day after day. We're contractors and we eat big! To date I have never left Dave's dissatisfied with their food or their portions. Whether you're a local, or just passing through, don't miss a chance to try out the food here! Can't recommend them enough.

They have the absolute best coffee, hands down. The fretta is my all time favorite meal here. You will have to wait for a table if you get there after 9:30 Saturday and Sunday, but it’s worth the wait.

Highly recommended. Pleasantly greeted and super attentive service. The food was hot and prepared to perfection. Oh, and the price for portion is a one of the best I've seen. I will be back on my next visit thru Manlius. You should too!

Wonderful local diner with a great variety of food offered. The prices are unbeatable and the staff are friendly as can be. Every time we go the waiter remembers our names and even our order. Bottomless coffee or iced tea tops off the experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. Not fine dining by any means but a fantastic please to have a quick bite and catch up with friends. It's exactly what you would expect from a local diner.

Classic breakfast fare, New specials everyday, great service, and all at an affordable price. You get complimentary cookies with your check and the staff is always attentive and so far has never made a mistake with me. Just a heads up, if you order fruit with your waffles and pancakes it isn't fresh but was previously frozen. I don't have a problem with that myself but my girlfriend did.

Good place to eat. Menu is a bit small (no combo that includes pancakes and home fries) but still has decent choices. Upon my last visit, we were seated near a gentleman who obviously had some sort of a disability and was having trouble feeding himself. A waitress very politely sat next to him and helped him eat his oatmeal. She probably couldn't do that when it's busy, like on a Sunday morning, but it was a weekday a bit later than the lunch rush. It was nice to see that, as it's above and beyond what wait staff are normally expected to do. PS - don't try to order takeout on a Sunday morning; they're so busy with dine-in traffic, they don't even answer the phone.

Had a super breakfast with dear friends. No wait for a table and not rushed at all. Coffee was freshly brewed. Pancakes, eggs and sausage were outstanding!

If you haven't been, you're missing out. Went on a random Sunday morning. Hungry for breakfast, we found a line out the door. But it moved quickly and we were at a table in no time. Food came out quickly, and was delicious. All the staples of an American breakfast but the Belgian Waffles were the headline. Will be revisiting.

I love this diner. The food is comforting and delicious. Great variety for breakfast and lunch. The menu has accommodations for allergies and intolerance. The staff is always friendly, professional and works hard to accommodate any needs. I'm gluten free and enjoyed their freta with GF toast. It's clean, has delicious food and is wallet friendly!

It is located on Seneca street in Manlius, NY. A stand-alone building in a strip mall. This is a great local hangout! Many regular customers. Wait staff are very friendly, greeting you as you enter. They also don't rush through your meal. There's a chalkboard with the daily specials. Breakfast is very popular here on the weekend. You may have to wait for an available table. Most customers will give up their table if they are done and just chatting. Very friendly atmosphere. The menu is American. Nothing too fancy but all very tasty and good portions. Oh, bottomless coffee. Lunch has a good assortment of sandwiches, salads, and some hot dishes. Not open for dinner. Enjoy the hometown feel of the diner. Parking is ample.

Surprisingly impressed and loved!! Thought this was a greasy spoon kind of place and was in every way wrong. The blueberry pancakes!!! French toast with fresh strawberries!! What!?! Fresh Maple syrup?!?!?! Delicious. Western omelette with home fries that had veggies in it!! They make a homemade chai latte. Fabulous! The cold crew rich dark chocolate taste! Just order anything and everything here. It was all amazing.

I love this diner! Every time I visit, I make a point to eat here. The food is so fresh, delicious, served in a traditional diner atmosphere. It is clear it is a local hangout as everyone said good morning to each other as they enter. I recommend sitting at the counter to get an authentic experience. The coffee is served steaming hot, and was always topped off. $15 for coffee, two eggs, two pancakes, two sausage links, two bacon slices…a good value for a filling breakfast!

My wife and I try a lot of diners. This is our favorite. They are very consistent. Everything on the plate is delicious every time. There's never a time when we say things like "these parts were good, but this part was OK." Every time we've been, every part of the meal has been great. They are also pretty fast regardless of how busy they are. Waitresses are always friendly. It has a real old-school diner vibe, with great food and service. If you're on the fence between this place and the daily diner, try here first.

Our server wasn't the greatest but there was a man who was helping her and kept checking on our table, he was wonderful and patient! Food was delicious!

I loved my pancakes but my husband was not pleased with his ham omelet. It was a egg omelet with ham thrown in the middle and just followed over.

Great breakfast before leaving my home town in Manlius, N.Y. and flying back to Oregon. Oatmeal, egg beaters and patty sausage per waitress recommendation, wonderful plain jane eats served fast with vibe of loyal staff, customers and homey feel. Just what I needed before leaving! Than you Dave's Diner. I also enjoy the Dave's in Cazenovia..and the snobby town vibe is left at the door thank God!

Mom was disappointed they didn't have haddock on Friday but the shrimp were delicious. Sherry and her staff are very good.

I am a bell ringer for the salvation army. I have been working at Top's grocery store in Manlius. One of my church member came by and visit me. He told me that Dave's Dinner has a great Swiss and mushroom burger so the next day I went to try the burger was very good. The service was great because I was a volunteer for the salvation army they said the burger was free I left a nice tip before walking out.

Omg its a diner! Syracuse is sadly lacking in quality diner establishments. We have a few good ones but they are too small and to few. Dave's has delicious food a clean atmosphere and fast service. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed eating here when we get the chance to stop and see friends in the area. Great place. Very good food and prices are wonderful too. My kids want to go to this diner exclusively. I can’t get them to try any different place. I took one star off for cleanliness. The floors could be scrubbed a bit more and our bench was often oily from the previous (little?) customer. I also don’t like that it smells like chlorine while you’re eating. It’s hard for me to enjoy my food while smelling that. And lastly, they begin cleaning and putting chairs away way before the place actually closes (around 1:40). So you feel like in the wrong spot and the wrong place. Like they are trying to get rid of you as soon as possible. Plus all these banging in the background. So 4 stars are totally deserved. But could make it a 5 star place for sure (at least in my opinion) if a few things were changed.

Standard diner food. Pancakes don't taste like a homemade batter, probably a basic instant mix, also no real maple. Eggs Benny were good (according to my son). Standard toasts, eggs etc. Quick service, always a decent crowd even weekdays. Reasonable portions- not overloaded. Everything came out hot and correct!

Visited this diner on a Sunday around 11 am. There was a short wait. Service was quick, considering how busy they were, and the service was friendly. I got the eggs Benny with spinach. Very good. I asked for my potatoes to be crispy, but they weren't any different than the other potatoes coming out. Oh, well. Coffee was hot and plentiful.

We got the breakfast with the sausage gravy, bisquits and eggs. I think it was called countey benedict. We got very lil sausage gravy. The lil bit we had tasted good but we hardly got any. Maybe if u get just bisquits and gravy u would get more gravy.

We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a Kaiser Roll per the menu offering. It came on a hamburger bun. When questioned, our waitress said that they don't have Kaiser rolls. If so, why did she take the order, or not let us know it wasn't available? Would have ordered other option. Other food tasted fine.

Nice clean diner serving breakfast and lunch. It can get crouded at times. The prices are reasonable. The food is good, but limited to simple dishes. The staff is friendly and tend to be from the owner's family. I tried to give this restaurant a 3.5 star rating. It's clean, the. food is fresh, the service is quick. If all you're looking for is a diner, this is a good choice.

I had an omelette with home fries and white toast. The omelet was very good. The home fries and toast mediocre. Our server seemed as though she had been run over by a Mack truck. I felt sorry for her as it seemed that it's an endless line of folks wanting to sit down and eat in a very small Diner. She did not convey any pleasantries nor smiles. I later learned that she was one of the owners.

3.5 Stars. Food was good price was good. Busy the service is a little slow but not bad. Nothing spectacular though the staff seems very friendly especially if you're a regular I'm not a regular LOL not that they were rude to me but not very attentive either. Like I said they were busy. There are definitely better diners in the area. Like the Redwood over in East Syracuse

Service and food delivery were very fast. The food was just ok. Friendly environment.

Now a bad place but nor exceptional either. There was a line out the door when we arrived that I mostly attribute to disorganization. The food was ok at best. My wife ordered corn beef hash "well done and crispy though when it came that was far from the case. Eggs Benedict had more of a cheese sauce that hollandaise. Overall I wouldn't write this place off but I can't really recommend it either

Aggressively average in every aspect, from start to finish. The staff is fine; maybe not the most outgoing, but i don't go out to eat to have my rear end kissed and be treated like a special boy. The prices are decent. Food is okay. Can't recommend it, wouldn't recommend against it. If you're hungry and it's close by... ehhhh, why not?

Small diner so most likely you will have to wait. Wait time however wasnt to bad id say 15-20 minutes for a 2 top. Our order was modified by us and server became irritated. Once food was delivered we felt ignored n after stacking plates she dropped check n just continued with attitude towards us. I felt like we did something to offend her, she was the most unwarming server ive encountered in a long time! But the food tasted good, smaller portions but right amount to fill us up! Overall id still give it a second chance just pray i dont get the same server lol

Food was good. The waitress was great. The greeter was not very nice. There was a wait and she sat people out of list order. She claimed she called names, but she was never more than 6 feet away. It was obvious that she sat whom she wanted. It is okay. The next time I will not leave the Daily Diner, where the wait was longer, just to go to Dave's for unfair treatment. Food is good, service was fairly fast. You can't sit down and eat without touching elbows with a stranger, or people listening in to your conversations. No privacy at all.

Food was good but the owner and the cooks had been beckering back and forth the entire hour I was there eating breakfast while sitting at the counter. When I addressed it to the owner, her remark was rude. Never again will I eat at Dave's Diner!

I'm told unless you are one of their select 20 or so regulars, service is poor. They demonstrated the rumor is true. Caz Dave's Diner is sooooo much better. The ten minute drive from Manlius to Caz will reward you with getting your food 30 minutes quicker, fresher, tastier.

We’ve been going to Dave’s diner for years, but things have been going downhill. The food is still good, as expected, but this last time we visited we sat in the booth next to the bathroom, and the smell coming from the bathrooms was absolutely disgusting. They clearly have not been cleaned in a while, as the smell of the dirty bathrooms persisted throughout our meal. Really soured my experience.

Waited 35min, went to coffee shop next door for a coffee and to pass time while I waited. They would not allow the coffee to come inside. Ridiculous...

I was at Dave’s Diner this past Saturday and what I witnessed really turned my stomach. I watched the waitress pull her mask down at a minimum of three times and wipe her face with her hands. She did not wash them after. She got things for customers after she did this. I will never go there again!!!

Food was ok but service with Sharon not to great. I don't think she likes dealing with the public or it just appears that way.. I'll try it again and see if same service.

Terrible service and the food wasn't good either. Two of us went for breakfast, we sat down, our order was taken and drinks were brought, drinks were never refilled. The waitress never came back until she brought the bill. I order eggs and corned beef hash. My eggs were over hard, not easy, the corned beef hash that I specifically asked if it was homemade tasted worst than the can. I love all the signs about no outside drinks, but that's the only way to get a drink. The waitstaff were on their phones the WHOLE time. Won't be back.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! We thought we'd go out for breakfast since we are not from the area. My husband and I were met with attitude standing waiting to be seated. The waitress looked us up and down and said it was going to be awhile! It was a very uncomfortable greeting! Then she looked at my husband and asked what he had in his hand, it was an empty coffee flask. She said he could not bring that in! Then turned her BACK to us and WALKED AWAY......WOW. The customer behind us apologized and felt bad for how we were treated and followed us outside and said they were leaving as well. How uncomfortable is that. To be that petty and made us feel that uncomfortable, it had to be something else.

I would give worse stars if I could, we went and ordered food only to watch 2 other 4 top groups get their food when they first when they came in after us (we were a group of 2). The owner came over and told us our order got lost and was being rushed. We understood and continued to watch again only to watch 2 more groups of 4 who arrived significantly later than us get their food which consisted of things that take longer to make than the simple omelet and sunny side up eggs we ordered. I don’t appreciate being lied to by the owner since when we left without being fed that there was no sign of our food being made.

Terrible, absolutely terrible. Paid $7 for a meal that isn't even big enough to qualify as a kids meal. Can't even call 2 of 4 tenders actual tenders. Food tasted OK but will never go there again. See my posted picture to see what I mean.
