Taqueria Yvette is a local favorite known for consistently great Mexican food, especially the wet burritos with amazing gravy and chicken tacos. Rudy, the owner, is friendly but can cause delays when taking orders. Some find it pricey, and portions may have decreased.

Tip: Be prepared to wait if Rudy is taking orders, as he is very friendly and talks to customers. Hot sauce is super hot, so be careful!

It's a nice hole in the wall taqueria. It looks pretty basic on the inside and outside, but the carne asada is absolutely delicious. Prices are pretty good considering the inflation going on currently. The guy at the counter was talking with another customer before I was able to order so I waited a little bit, but he gives a pretty good experience. My baby even loves the carne asada and she finished an entire taco. My new favorite taco place near home that's for sure.
Best Mexican food in town. Love the gravy/Mole sauce. All of the staff if very friendly and the place is clean
My husband was recommended this place by a coworker, and I am so glad for it. It's a hole-in-the-wall place that doesn't look like much, but more than makes up for its appearance with its warm, friendly service and amazing food. My husband got the carne asada and I got the quesadilla plate. Both plates were brimming with food. The carne asada was flavorful and tender, where it had been salty and dry at other places. And the quesadillas had these wonderfully fluffy tortillas and were packed with plenty of cheese and meat. Amazing food with friendly people! Would totally recommend!
Was craving Mexican food during a long rv trip and Taqueria Yvette delivered! We had chicken flautas and tacos, which were delicious, and the rice and beans were just as good. The owner packed us chile verde and sides to heat up during our overnight in Yosemite.Sooo good, hope you get to try it before the owner retires!
Love this place! The owner is a great guy and will always go the extra mile to make sure you are happy! Try the chile verde it is like no other. Had the flautas today and they were really good too.
The owner of this establishment is on of my best friends in Manteca, He has mentored me so much in business and in life. Rudy I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me and my wife when times were hard. As a restaurant in Manteca you cannot find one other with more tasty Mexican styled food. You may think your waiting a long time in line but once its your turn you will find out why. you are not just another pretty face in the crowd, you have just become another member of Rudy's Family. I would give them a hundred stars if they had that many.
The carne asada tacos are really good but the hot sauce is why i rated 5 stars. Very spicy hot sauce. Not too many restaurants offer that. Costumer service is also good.
Been coming here since 1986! Rudy and crew are awesome. The food is great, staff is friendly, worth the $$$
Under new ownership butt maintaining the good quality of food and service this restaurant is still a favorite. Their hours are better than before, they don't close during the day
This is a great place to eat. Good food. The owner always has a smile. The chili Colorado burrito is my favorite. Big enough to have dinner and lunch the next day. This restaurant has been in Manteca forever!! I love this place!!
Rudy the owner is awesome! The quality of the food is great. It's always hot! Love their tamales and the gravy/sauce is the best I've ever had and we have a lot of choices for Mexican food here in Manteca (Lard). Lol
My family I went for dinner the food was great the kids menu was one of our favorites things since we have a little one . The customer service was fantastic
Love their fresh salsa and chips. I have always ordered the same cheese enchilada and soft chicken taco...thick, red sauce has good flavor...beans and rice are very tasty too!!...always clean my plate!!!
Had chili verse burrito with hot sauce was very flavorful. Hot sauce was enough that u knew it was there but didnt have u running for a glass of milk. The place definately felt homey. Would 100% eat there again
The best Mexican I've had in years, literally. I tried the chile rellenos, carne asada, carnitas, and carne adovada. I have no complaints or suggestions. Explosions of flavor, good heat, perfectly cooked... It was a love making experience for sure. I'm only in town for two weeks but I will definitely be back to Taqueria Yvette before I leave. Also, I'm guessing he's the owner, but the man taking the orders was incredibly friendly with me and all the other patrons. Try this Taqueria before all others in the area. At the time of this review this joint had a 4.6 while everyone else in/around Manteca was 4.2 or less. This is definitely a step up from the ordinary and truly deserving of 1st place.
I've known Rudy for years on end his food is always been great. Customer service is extraordinary! His hot sauce is the best in town try it on your tacos or carne asada burrito the best.
Always good Food. Had the Super Asada Burrito.. flavor still there.. love it!
If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, this little gem is the place to be! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of charm, and the food is nothing short of amazing. Their molés negros are hands down the best in town—rich, deep, and bursting with flavor that tastes like it’s been perfected for generations. Every dish feels real and true to its roots, with fresh ingredients and the kind of love you can only find in family recipes. Its a mush stop in Manteca. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a full meal, you’ll leave satisfied and already planning your next visit. This restaurant isn’t just good—it’s the real deal. 🌮❤️😍🤩🫶🫶🫶🫶
Food is always on point! The carne asada has a great smokey vibrant flavor and the burritos are HUGE! Also had the BEST pico de gallo with my enchilada plate!
I drove far out of my way specifically to visit this hole-in-the-wall based on its glowing reviews — and I was not disappointed! Their menu is full of classic dishes that can’t go wrong. They are simple but hearty and filling. I tried out their burrito, enchilada, and tacos and they were all so delicious! The salsa tastes homemade and fresh. The best part is that the owner is so friendly and made me feel right at home. This place definitely has a welcoming and familial vibe. I would recommend Taqueria Yvette to anyone wanting to support a wonderful local Mexican restaurant.
Need to revisit since Mr Rudy & Ms Sally are no longer familiar faces there. Fingers crossed its still as amazing as it was. Mr Rudy is a Manteca icon!
It's a comfortable family Mexican restaurant. First time there, had tacos and taco salad. Although the taco salad looked small, it was packed with beans and carne asada and very tasty. Will definitely come back.
The beef enchiladas with red sauce, rice, beans. The salsa and chips were all delicious. The lady who took my order was friendly and helpful for a first time customer.
Always Great food well worth the wait!! We love Rudy's!! Best Chicken Tacos in town!!! Never disappointed
One of the best, longest lasting Mexican food spots in town!

8/28/25 - again Yvette's doesnt dispppint!! Had the Chili Colorado enchilada...I'm sorry it's my favorite, and it was delicious. I ate every...single....morssil.... Early 2025 Came for lunch after doing a search for mexican restaurants. I ordered the enchilada plate with one chile Colorado enchilada and one chile Verde enchilada. This was a wise choice because both were delicious! Beans were good, and rice was excellent. Make sure you get the cabbage slaw from the salsa bar for the cherry on top! Returning for sure!

Food is great! The owner Rudy does talk a lot so you may be standing in line for about 15-20 minutes while he talks to other people. if he is at the front counter taking orders, he will not answer the phone. But he is very friendly. Definitely the hours that are listed online are not correct. He is open 11 to 8 and closed between three and five. And he is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Food is always consistently great.
It is obvious why this place had such good reviews already. The food was fresh the owner took our order and has such a gracious manner. The food was delivered quickly and our large group of 9 people were all satisfied completely. We were just traveling through, but recommend Taqueria Yvette to everyone. You will not be disappointed!
So good. Hot sauce is super hot so be careful!! Diamond in the ruff. You will not be disappointed. My wife has tried 6 different items from the menu and has not been disappointed one time with her meal. The gravy they poor over the wet burritos is simply AMAZING.
I’ve been going to Yvette’s since I was 5 years old. I even worked for Rudy when I was 18. I’m 39 now and still go back and eat there every time I’m in Manteca. The food is always great. I love the rellanos and beans and rice and his Pepsi in the bottles from Mexico. Rudy is such a good man and business owner. I’m going to be very sad when the day comes and he has to close. I hope he give me his rellano sauce recipe some day.
Fabian, Imelda, Cristhal, Ampelia all meant all of my expectations. Was very impressed with all their food customer service and professionalism. And I highly recommend all customers to visit their location only and nowhere else.
It had been years since I’d been to this restaurant, but it was always one of my favorites in the area. I was pleased to see that they’ve kept the same amazing flavors in their food and sauces! It was my husband’s first time there and he was blown away, even had to buy another burrito for the road. The service was great, very friendly staff. Definitely recommend 💯!
Still just as good as it was 15 years ago when we lived here we came back for a one-week visit.
Not only is there food delicious, affordable and portioned well, but their cashier, Crystal, has the best customer service I've ever experienced in town. Shes friendly, communicates well, offers suggestions, and is overall a delightful person to interact with.

We have been going to this place for 30 years. The food is good and has an authentic taste.
The people are the absolute gem of this place. The food was really good but I did notice the price went up tremendously since the last I was in here (15 years ago though to be fair).
On the more expensive side for a taqueria but the dining area is nice and comfortable. Service was super friendly. Nothing amazing about the food but it wasn't bad either. An occasional stop there is worth your time.
Small hidden location. The staff was amazing, I'm assuming the man that was there was the owner? But he was so personable with everyone, super friendly. Food was good but it wasn't very hot, just warm. The plates were hotter than the food. Overall it was good.
I haven't been here for years. I had 2 Tacos de Carnitas. I was asked if I wanted spicy and I said yes. Absolutely fabulous. Yes my mouth had a good heat in it but a very good heat. The 2 salsas he gave me I saved for my lunch at work the next day. Wow. A very complex mixture that lit up my senses.
It's hit and miss with service. Sometimes amazingly friendly, other times... Just eh. Food is good, typical. Not bad. The pozole is top 3 in town though.
I've been here 3 times now over a 4 yr period of being in Manteca often. while it's actually a cut above some of the other Mexican spots here that's not saying much considering its population of Mexicans is high. the portions are big on the enchilada but the green sauce is thick and more of a brown color with a lot of meat and sparse cheese. the rice is suspiciously soft like instant. lettuce and toms are fresh. but the food lacks flavor despite the perfectly cooked chicken. the hot sauce is nice and spicy& salsa seems homemade. usually it's good friendly service. but I avoid it cuz of the very limited hours (11am - 8pm Tues - Sat don't work for me) & the gragarious and politically arrogant owner. this is my last visit with the non-traditional enchilada "gravy" and tasteless tacos.
Great flavors, food is very pricey though. example: price for (1) person after ordering a drink $ 25.00 X 3 more people = $ 75.00 + moving forward to today's prices. 5/2/2025 Ordered a (2) item combination plate with a drink. $41.00 choose wisely if your on a budget. if you got it like that, then enjoy their good food.
As much as I love this place and their food, the portions of rice and beans have gotten drastically smaller so we now order extra rice or beans just to get what used to be normal! The cheese on the top, barely if any. Disappointing.

The owner (Randel) was not cool. I simply asked for the kinds of meats they offered. His response was, why did I ask if I can see the menu behind him. Also food is really expensive. Not worth it and not returning.
I always go here .the owner is amazing. But the cook and waitress seem to be in a bad mood always.and now he has someone on cashier.that lets customers stand in line close to 30 mins while she figures out a mistake they made.she questions everything.wants to charge customers for extra enchilada sauce.plus a customer had to come back after they messed up an order and they would even give her complimentary chips.it was crazy.actually made another customer pay for them and was super rude the whole time. It was a disaster.we left the line after waiting so long people behind us were still waiting when we drove off .the cashier kept going back to kitchen to do other stuff and wouldnt even acknowledge we were there.moved the service bell..Rudy should give them a good talking to.love food there but something has to be done.didn't even get what I was craving.the cashier was yelling at the customer.really bad.
I purchased a burrito from this place for over $11.00 dollars, a very average size burrito mind you I thought it was high, but I gave it a chance and they ended up giving me a tortilla with meat and nothing else in it. I was really disappointed called up and complained. She then asked me where I worked so I told her then she goes on to say that she doesn't know where I am located so she could make this right, but then goes on to say. I don't know where that is at, I thought to say, No GPS?? Come on!
Went here to quickly get some food for the road before my long drive home after work, and they have a dinky little paper in the window that says they are closed EVERYDAY from 3-5pm. Which was the exact time frame i came at. That would be fine whatever, except their online hours do not reflect that, so they in effect wasted my time. Also, wth kind of time schedule is that? So im posting it here since they cant be bothered to update their availability online. Closed 3pm-5pm… EVERY DAY
Place is dirty! The lady who took our order was rude! The food was not good either! I had their carnita sope and it was so bland. The beans looked like they were microwaved! Wouldn't recommend eating there at all! Spent 28 dollars when I could've went to taco bell and spent less for tastier food and thats bad because taco bell isnt the greatest! Will never step foot in Taqueria Yevette's again!
This place is a joke. The taco meat was burnt and completely flavorless. The burrito? Same story—burnt, dry, and disgusting. On top of that, the prices are ridiculous for the garbage they serve. And don’t get me started on the drinks—the so-called “large” is smaller than a regular small at most places. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, look elsewhere. This ain’t it. Total waste of time and money.
