I was so excited to see that Pizza Buona was still open or should I say re opened a block down and across the street from the original location. The location might have changed but the menu and the level of quality hasn't. The food is outstanding, I had the veal cutlet that comes with spaghetti and choice of salad or soup. The salad was so good, classic Italian salad and big, the spaghetti was perfect with an amazing meat sauce that was an amazing compliment to the delicious breaded veal cutlet, the whole meal was large enough that I had half to take home which was just as good warmed up later as it was fresh. My daughter had the fettuccini alfredo with broccoli, wow, I'm actually planning a trip back tonight just to have that myself, it was probably the best tasting alfredo sauce I've ever tasted. I highly recommend Pizza Buona, please don't let this restaurant disappear again!!!
The pizza here is excellent. Really good fluffy, yet crispy, bottomed crust! They are not lying when they say the don’t skimp on toppings! There was definitely two layers of pepperoni on the pepperoni deluxe. We added mushrooms and black olives and they were really nicely blended in so you could tell the pie was made to order.
Pizza Buona is a very quaint but great place for Italian food from pastas to pizza! We carbo load here for the LA Marathon. The servings are plentiful and very tasty as is the pizza! :-) Highly recommend it. 👌 It is easy walking distance from the Lexmar Hotel.
This may be the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The chicken and bacon deluxe blew my mind away. It was so good. My girlfriend and I got into a big argument over who is going to have the last piece. She wrestled me to the ground and won. I'm still a little bitter. That pizza made me emotionally....erect.
First... don’t be fooled by going to the pizza place just down the block on the corner with the similar name... (seriously don’t). It’s easy to make the mistake, so letting you know now: just make sure you come to PIZZA BUONA. This is the original, family-owned, local LA spot in Echo Park for decades and they recently-ish moved from the corner to this spot! I ordered cheese with fresh basil. Sauce is flavorful, crust is delicious, cheese is perfectly browned and stringy. My friend got the fettuccine alla vodka that she graciously let me try...creamy and tomato-ey...yum! We both had leftovers, and saved room for the homemade tiramisu which was decadent and so satisfying. We left full, happy, and feeling good about supporting locally owned business! I’ll be coming back and bringing friends... I hear your delivery is great too. Pizza Buona, you’re the real deal!
Amazing and delicious artisan pizza, cheese is delicious and dough perfectly baked, there are other dishes besides pizza but you gotta try the rustic pizza their signature pizza a little pricey compared to other pizza joints by totally worth it
The best Italian food I ever had and felt it was homemade from your mother kitchen. We order house special pizza and lasagna. Omg the best. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something different. Enjoy! 😉
Best pizza in all of California!! Been eating here for almost 30 years. Beautiful people and excellent food. You know it’s a good pizza when the next day it’s just as good cold!!
Omg i had a taste for Italian this place was recommended by a taxi driver. I don’t even like pizza that much but I got to say they got my vote. The fresh ingredients and the love that was put into this pizza. Deserves a five star.

My favorite pizza in Los Angeles and I'm from NY. I've been dining in, getting take out and ordering delivery from here for 16 years since their old spot. I love the 4 cheese pizza. It's a family owned business and the staff is amazing. The pasta, salads, garlic knots and sandwiches are great too. They use the freshest and highest quality ingredients. I recommend everything on the menu. You really can't go wrong with this restaurant.
I’ve been coming to Pizza Buona since the old corner spot on Alvarado and Sunset, and I still miss that location. The new place is different, but having parking is a huge plus. The Margherita pizza is still my go-to—perfect crust and fresh basil. The meatball sub is exactly how I remember it, saucy and filling. And the lasagna still feels like the definition of comfort food. Glad they kept the classics right.
An old fav!!! I love their pizza and have been a patron since the early 2000's. I miss their Sunset location, but no one does pizza like Pizza Buona!

I had the baked rigatoni. Delicious Was my first time there. I went again and had the Lasagna. I knew better nobody could ever make it better than Mom.

It’s not terrible… but it’s not amazing either. It’s kind of that middle-ground pizza experience like the cinematic equivalent of a movie you watch on a plane and say, “Yeah, that was fine,” and then never think about again. The food’s solid. Classic pizza parlor stuff, no frills, no fireworks. Definitely not “best pizza in LA” territory, despite what the internet prophets may claim. But it gets the job done. The place itself is small, so if you’re walking in, expect to wait a bit.
The pizza rustica/rustic its so good. No tomato sauce fresh tomatoes on top 😋

I’m giving this a 2 star review because the pizza was good. However my experience here was not pleasant. We wanted to dine in but the place was small and it does not accommodate for couples. The lady that attended me assumed I wanted to order to go. There could have been a better and more professional way to let us know that they had the second table reserved and was asked to wait standing up. Definitely was not a pleasant or welcoming experience at all. Silverware, plates and napkins were not included.
The Pastrami pizza was terrible, it had so much mustard you have to lift the cheese and scrape the mustard it off to eat it. Imagine a tablespoon of mustard in one slice 🤮. If you want to know what a good pastrami pizza tastes like, check out Paisanos Pizza in Hermosa Beach. Not only are they amazingly good, you get an 18" pizza for the price of a 14" at this location. That's 66% more pizza for the same price
They said it’s wine and beer with your pizza but they didn’t have a alcohol license. We ordered their recommended Rustica with Shrimp for $32 and while it was a quiet evening, we still waited 30 minutes. We took 10 mins to get back and it was still hot. But the cheese just fell off the slice and the dough was soggy. Just awful

I don’t normally like to leave negative reviews but there wasn’t anything positive about my first experience with Pizza Buona. I ordered the house special online and arrived about 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Given that, i didn’t mind waiting a bit. However, It ended up taking an additional 15 minutes past the scheduled time to finally get my pizza. There was no “thanks for your patience” or “sorry for the wait”. Once I got home the pizza looked great in the box, but once i went to pull apart the slices, all the cheese and toppings separated from the slices. This was the case on nearly every slice. For a $28 pizza (after tax and tip) I was extremely disappointed.
Bad customer service. I ordered a medium pizza to-go and the box they used was too small for the pizza. Therefore when I opened it, the pizza was folded over and the cheese and toppings on the side where the pizza didn’t fit, slid off. When I called to explain (politely), the guy completey disregarded me and proceeded to tell me how he KNOWS it was my fault because he’s been working for 63+ years etc and so the reason why my pizza was messed up was due to how I carried the box. You could clearly see that the pizza didn’t fit in the box, but he didn’t want to hear that. Very unfortunate interaction to have as a first time customer.
