Last minute decision but my friend and I are glad we went! Our server Tim was very friendly and recommended a good appetizer. I really liked creating my own pasta and was surprised by how much there was. Definitely going back at some point.
The food, wine and dessert were fantastic! The service was even better! It is very rare to EVER see the manager in any restaurant but here Russell, the manager, is on it. He is constantly observing and even tending customers. I've been to restaurants where you NEVER see the manager. This restaurant is top notch in my book. Everyone is great. They treat you like family!
We enjoyed our visit and our meal. They have good specials. Our server Nick was the best, making sure we had everything we needed and were happy with our order and even helped with suggestions, helping to make our overall experience excellent. We ate so good we didn't have room for the dessert he suggested at the end, so we will make sure to try next time.
Nice atmosphere. The server was great, and the food was amazing! We loved the stuffed mushrooms, by the way. We will definitely be back.
My lasagna was excellent and the stuff mushroom also.
For the first time here, our experience was great. After reading negative reviews, we were skeptical but we really enjoyed everything. The appetizers were delicious...especially the Mac & cheese balls. Our entrees were very flavorful as well. To top it off, we ended with cheesecake that was so creamy and delicious. We would definitely return in the future.
I came here looking to grab a quick salad to-go. I ordered inside the restaurant at the front desk, hostess was extremely polite. My food was packaged with care, they even packaged the grilled chicken so it would not welt the salad. Order came with a tasty focaccia and oil. I'll be sure to dine in next time and try some of their pasta!
The place is really comfy. The service was perfect 👌 ask For Ernie. He would take care of you 💯 percent recommend 👌 👏 👍 🙌 😀
Went here for a graduation dinner with our large extended family. Luckily we had a reservation and were able to be seated quickly. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The servers are always so warm and friendly. It doesn’t take a long time to wait for food.
We did a huge order for catering and we had a missunderstanding and they fix it right away and didn't charge it extra. I saw how the team was working to give us the best service. Thank you Russell for all your support. If you are doing catering give them a call and they make it easier for you...
I was actually very pleased with my recent experience here. It's got a great environment, awesome food and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It's the first time a restaurant actually let us sample some of their wines. My wife and I went on a Tuesday around 6-7pm, so the stress of a rush wasn't there much. As it was our first time there, the manager came up to us after our meals and asked if we enjoyed it. Huge plus for the customer service. They let us know about the $7 lunch specials for future reference. Although it's a bit pricey, we're sure to go back sometime soon when we feel deserving of another treat.
Food was great. But our server was AWESOME! He was fast, on top of everything for a party of 8! Handsome man as well! He was VERY polite and well mannered, his momma raised him right! Thanks Azarias for the amazing experience.
Food was the way I wanted it. The chef was able to provide my request. I ordered the pasta the way I wanted. Thin spaghetti pasta with Alfredo, fresh spinach, roasted garlic, roasted mushrooms, and grilled chicken. Ordered House Salad and the bread was just perfect. Our Server Albert was great. Awesome experience.
It is a nice place for some good Italian American food. The lamb chops are great and I had the chicken parmigiana with angle hair pasta. The portions are big, I ate all the chicken but touch none of pasta so took it for left overs.
We celebrated my wife's birthday. I had a wonderful salmon recipe. It was served quickly and our server was friendly and efficient. The complimentary bread was tasty and the olive oil dip was spiced just right. Very enjoyable evening.
Went to eat here with my bf. The server was very kind, helpful and patient with all of our questions. He recommended the brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were delicious! It was the bfs first time here and he keeps asking to go back ever since cause he loved the pizza and pasta. Also enjoy the atmosphere in here.
Everything was delicious! Service was fabulous! We thought it was going to be like olive garden when we pulled in, but it blows them out of the water! I'm a Caesar salad snob and that's the best one I've ever had at a restaurant!
Joe was our server and he was very professional and polite. I ordered a pizza and the kids sized Alfredo pasta with no protein. My husband loves the chicken parmesan and the spinach dip. The atmosphere is so chill and the lighting is perfect
The restaurant is fairly quiet for a lively, bustling space. The lighting is calm and cheerful. I would say this is a decent option for those with sensory sensitivities but should bring aids just in cause. The server Joe made our party feel welcome and provided above and beyond service. We were wowed by food and speed of service.
The hostess was able to seat us right away with no wait time. The server came to get our order for the drinks with in about 5 minutes of being seated. The women's restroom was lacking some service. The floor was mild dirty and the soap was watered down. After ordering our meal was ready in about 15 minutes at the most and the waiter was attentive to getting us refill on our drinks. Great service overall!!!
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the valley. Food is amazing and reminds me of some of my favorite places in San Antonio and Dallas. Waitress was extremely friendly and even provided cooking tips for us. Food is reasonably priced for what it is and the environment is clean, welcoming and proper. Will definitely be returning.
Friendly staff, service is excellent, a variety of menu selections and the wine list is decent.
Loved that It was very nice and quiet when we went for our 10 year anniversary
I had such a great experience at Macaroni Grill thanks to Joe! He was incredibly friendly from the moment we sat down and made us feel so welcome. He was easy to talk to, attentive, and genuinely kind. His customer service was outstanding — he made sure we had everything we needed and checked in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. It’s rare to come across someone who truly enjoys what they do, and you can tell Joe does. He made our visit even more enjoyable, and because of him, I would absolutely love to go back to Macaroni Grill and ask for him again. Thank you, Joe, for such a wonderful experience!
Wonderful experience. Every staff member was so polite. Lee the manager was ever so gracious. Danny and our personal server Joe made sure everything was on point. The timing of our appetizers and entrees was impeccable. And to top it all off the manager on shift Hannah made sure to come by and asked if everything was going well. The food was exquisite. Def recommend to anyone looking for fine Italian food.
love food, service, and manager came up to us and asked if we were good and how the could improve. they are so considerate and trying to improve their service which makes me want to go back now. most importantly food was SO GOOD
Love how all the employees are so kind and respectful especially with they have so much patience with ppl i love it bc I struggle making decisions/ describe what specific item I want and they take their time to show me the item on the menu and even explain what in come with. That itself is the best service for me and is the reason why I keep going to watch a show on my Phone and eat in peace bc its the best place to go.
We had not been at a macaroni grill in a while not because we didn't want to but because we don't live near one anymore. The managers and staff were very nice and we had great service! Thank again!
I can’t say enough good things about my experience last night at Mac G’s!!! I was hosting a baby shower for one of my dearest friends. Even making reservations for the event was a good experience. It’s hard to plan attendees and know how many people will come. Hannah, made me feel so comfortable over the phone. I planned for 20 guests but she didn’t make me feel pressured, if more or less came. She made me feel okay regardless of turnout, like it wouldn’t be a problem at all. It was to be held on a Thursday night and she said we could have the back of restaurant all to ourselves. I was so relieved. From the moment I arrived, everyone opened doors, offered to help me carry decorations and cake from my car. I was first to arrive, and started decorating by myself. A sweet lady came over and offered her assistance with anything and everything. Little did I know it was Hannah, the AM service manager. LOL. I had her helping me with tedious tasks…she busted out her own tape and scissors. She helped me decorate tables, place settings, backdrop, cake table, gift table, thank you table. LOL. She helped me with everything!! I would not have been able to have finished on time without her. I was so grateful. It was then, she told me who she was and entrusted the rest of the evening to PM manager, Mario. And same thing! Really good attention to our needs. Miranda and Christian were our servers. They were both amazing! Miranda, especially, seemed sweet and sincere in conversation. They provided excellent service and were very attentive, professional and friendly. They did not even make us feel uncomfortable about separate checks x20!!! They acted like it was no big deal but to me…. That’s a huge deal! They were super nice about it and said it would not be a problem. Everyone said good things about the food. Good portions, great flavors. And when it was all done, Mario and staff helped carry all of our things back to our vehicles and offered help with everything. Top notch customer service!!! Epitome of above and beyond. Thank you Mac G’s for making my friend’s day even more special!! Grateful, 🌻 Julia
Went in with family for a late lunch and it was great! The food was excellent. The portions were generous and deliciously fresh. Our server, Luis, was wonderful and so was the manager. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We have never had a bad experience or been disappointed with the food, service, or atmosphere. This Macaroni Grill is the best one I've been too. We shall return, soon. Thanks MG Team!
Absolutely loved our experience at Macarroni's in McAllen! The lamb was incredibly flavorful, the vegetables perfectly cooked, and the Caesar salad had a spectacular taste. Everything felt super gourmet. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service matched the quality of the food. We’re so glad we discovered this place — it’s definitely on our list for future visits!
I started my Sunday here...at the bar. I sampled their finest Cabernet and opted to purchase a bottle to enjoy with my meal. I was here attending a birthday lunch(on a sunday) and was pleased to discover this place has a brunch menu! I absolutely went for the brunch and enjoyed the wonderful rosemary bread and excellent service as well. I'll definitely go back again!
I absolutely loved this place and will always go back, starting off with food the food was very good the pasta is authentic and cooked perfectly. They also had a wide variety of veggies. The service was outstanding! Our waitress Linda was very nice to me and accommodating and even had some interesting conversations with us. The atmosphere was amazing and very Italian and it looked very cozy and modern. Overall this is my favorite review by far.
Absolutely loved the food, I personally ordered the Mom's Risotta Meatballs+Spaghetti, with some additional Parmesan put on top. The service was great and amazing, and they were all very nice. Lastly, the atmosphere was great, with it being family friendly and it was not to loud and not to quiet. I would absolutely recommend going here.
Came here for my partner’s 28th solar return. The server Christian was absolutely immaculate. He helped so much with every request possible. The energy was beautifully crafted for an intimate dinner. The lady who sang happy birthday in Italian was such a beautiful experience and I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion in the future!! Thank you so much. 🧿💓 I’m sending the highest energies to this establishment!!
Ist time here. Loved it!! Service was exceptional. Ernie was our server. He was awesome. He would always appear out of nowhere to see if we needed refills or to see if we needed anything at the perfect times. The bread was really good and my plate was fantastic. We will definitely make this a regular place to visit.
Excellent service excellent food every time we go. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip, the pepperoni pizza and a custom pasta plate. Its fresh and crisp ingredients. We got the truffle fries and those were every underwhelming. Joe was an excellent service and had the best up keep to our table. Easy to talk to and got us everything we asked for.
Group of eight. Dine in. Service was just ok. The food was mediocre, almost sent back my chicken scapalini. The chicken was so tough I could hardly cut it, much less chew it. It tasted old , like the meat had been laying around for a few days at room temperature. Nasty. I was going to take home my leftover food but decided to throw it away. Essentially, I spent $30 and got only a few edible bites. What a waste of money. Really not a good value. I should have gone elsewhere. Next time we have a family dinner party at a restaurant it won't be here. I use to love the Macaroni Grill in Kentucky. So much better than this one. Come on, Valley restaurant owners. Get off your duff and run a REAL business.
Had a great meal there when we were in town. Service was wonderful, and the food very tasty. However, I left my credit card behind after paying the bill, and didn't realize that until we were about 3 hours back towards home. So I called, and they acknowledged that they did have the card, and offered to either destroy it or mail it back. Since I put a hold on the card, it was simpler to mail it back to me, and they did just that. Great customer service!
I love there food. Especially their chicken and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo with onions and broccoli it is so delicious 😋.
The food was really good. I enjoyed their hot tea, didn't know they had hot tea so it was a nice surprise. Now the only thing I did not like was the seating. You'd think for the prices they charge the seating would be better. We were seated at a booth, but the back of the booth where I sat was the back of the booth for the other guest and they seemed to be enjoying themselves because they kept kicking the back of which was shared by both and it was not fun. Kinda like a kid kicking the back of a chair like in an airplane. I asked them to stop which they did , but every movement they made I could feel . It's like the back of the booth are hollow, they need cushions or something to separate them or make them more comfortable. Seriously Los Compadres has better booths then Macaroni Grill.
Who doesnt love italian? Really good chicken marsala, however there was only 2 small pieces of chicken. For $19 I would have hoped for more chicken. The lobster bisque soup was decent, but not great. (It was an extra few bucks). The server was very nice, however he wasnt super attentive. Granted, there was 7 of us...however we waited for drinks multiple times (just beer, nothing fancy). It also took a very long time to get the checks, and then get our cards back. So it ended kinda on a sour note. Would definitely go back though.
Romano's Macaroni Grill is my go-to spot for a hearty lasagna fix! Conveniently located near my place, it's a lifesaver when cravings strike. The lasagna is always on point, oozing with flavor and cheesy goodness. What truly sets this place apart is the stellar service - polite and attentive staff make every visit a pleasure. Highly recommend for a delicious Italian feast!
My husband and I went here for our Sunday dinner. The Shrimp Scampi and Shrimp Portofico (sounds like, coz I forgot 😅) was delish. The crunchy Brussels sprouts was a bit bland for my taste so we added a little salt and pepper to it and it was good. Along with the entrees we ordered was a choice of an unlimited soup or salad. So, my husband ordered the Lobster bisque for the soup and I ordered their signature ceasar salad for the salad (both for an additional $1 & $2 something respectively). The salad was delicious but the lobster bisque, not really. It tastes more like tomato soup and salt, which I didn’t expect. I told the server, Krystal that we didn’t like it. She was nice enough to acknowledge it and asked if I want it replaced. I said, no and it’s ok. Overall the food is good and the serving size is good for 2 people I would say. The ambience and vibe of the place is great. Though I gave it 4 stars (because of the lobster bisque) I still recommend this place. The price is not cheap but the food and serving is worth it. We paid about $80 I think for 2 entrees (Seafood), a soup and a salad, 1 appetizer, a sweet tea and a Jack Daniels with Diet Coke.
Suggested this restaurant to my group of 7 coworkers. Our server Ana was great. Food took a while, and when it arrived, 5 out of the 7 meals were barely warm. The main excuse was that they were short on staff.
Great food. Good pricing. Understaffed and our waiter was less attentive than we would have liked. Hardly checked up on us. My ex-wife had to go get our waiter so I could pay for the meal. We waited more than 5 minutes to get our refills. Other staff saw we needed help and no one took the time to check on what we needed. Not what we would expect from a restaurant like this.
Nothing bad about this place, we enjoyed our food, we went on Sunday to celebrate my daughter birthday, we order , unfortunately our server did not show any interest in our table, she got the wrong order, and we didn’t get refills, we had to flag a server to get more drinks and salad for my daughter.. this Restaurant is always been my favorite, I just hope this young server learn the menu and visit the tables more often.
I went here yesterday. The service was great, and the atmosphere also. We had lasagna. It was so salty that my mouth burned for 3 hours after I got home. I don't know if this was an accident or the way they make it. It put me off going back again.
Haven’t been to a Macaroni Grill in a few years so decided to give it a try. Regretted our decision to come here for pasta. Create your own pasta was $16 and included only 3 non-protein toppings. Portion was small, even for lunch, and the arabiatta sauce was not spicy at all. Lasagna had no texture; the noodles were overdone and not worth $19. To boot, the soup of the day, lobster bisque for $3 add on, tasted more like tomato basil with a strange, seafood-like aftertaste. After sending it back, the server discussed with the manager. And to their credit, they took it off the special menu because it was prepared incorrectly and credited our bill. We used to love this franchise, but the food quality has declined and prices have skyrocketed. We won’t be returning. Kids pepperoni pizza was “really good.”
Got here and was seated. The hostess seemed to have a bit of an attitude. The silverware I got was dirty which kinda set the tone for the rest of my experience. Their raspberry tea is delicious. The bread was alright. It was seasoned with some herb that really took over the taste of the bread. We ordered macaroni bites and fried mozerella as an appetizer. The fried macaroni bites were pretty good with the dipping sauce they came with. They were full of flavor. The fried mozerella felt pretty under seasoned and I consider it as some of the worst fried mozerella I've had, but it was still alright. I ordered pasta Milano which was pretty good, but it was made with rigatoni which felt just too thick, but I guess that's on me. It would have been substantially better if it was made with penne. The pasta was also kind've cold. The service was pretty good. Our waiter always had a refill for us before we even finished our current cup which is a huge plus. Overall the place was alright. I don't think I'd choose it again but just because there's better options for Italian food. The pizza did look good so maybe id go back to just try that.
Dated interior, tables too small for party of 4. Service was good. Food was disappointing Parmesan fish was overcooked and flavorless. Seafood and mushroom ravioli were just ok. Many better Italian options out there for the price
We have been going to the Macaroni Grill, McAllen, TX for about 10 years. It's my birthday. This year was the worst. We paid $50 for 2 entries and an ice tea. The bread was warm but hard as a rock, no salad came with the meal, we were told it was $6. Food was fair, I had the Lasagna, it wouldn't even melt the extra cheese on top. My husband had Chicken Alfredo, chicken was cold and dried out. I have received a dessert, we had to ask about it. Server said I get you something. I told him if there was a dessert put it in a togo box. This is the last time I will spend my birthday dinner there.
Our party got seated within 5 minutes, however, we had to wait around 30 mins to order and around 40 minutes of waiting for our meals. Its not too packed either. The teas are good got a pomegranate tea that was a good blend. The chicken parmesan was under salted and had very little flavor. Had to take home to add seasonings. The deserts faired better but not enough to gain a star. The waiters didn't really care about us, might have been because we were dressed casually. Overall bit over priced and it can be a really bad experience. We should have gone to Olive Garden or even Fazoli's. Positive: The atmosphere is nice.
I was disappointed with quality of food. Brussel sprouts were NOT GOOD. Try the ones at RED LOBSTER!! The lamb chops were tiny and just warm The vegetables were also warm. My plate is usually very hot. Today was not a good visit. My sister ordered chicken under brick. The chicken breast was cut up in pieces you can't even tell what piece I got! The bread they bring out before meal was also cold. This restaurant is loosing its quality food. We won't come back.
Went to celebrate my bday really bad service. It wasn't even pack our waiter never came for refills. We were going to order dessert but instead another waiter came back & gave us our check. Asked her for a box she was just laughing. All the employees were just standing around when we kept calling for anyone to help us.
The server was one of the worst I've had in a long time. The whole table had empty drinks at one point. Had to ask for my drink 3 times. Menu is not updated with prices and overall was a bad Father's day lunch
I ordered their $15.50 signature truffle mac & cheese dish (no meat included) , The food is so bland and doesn’t taste like a legitimate Italian dish. For the price, you are just paying for their environment you are being served in and for the 30-45 minute wait to actually get your food. Definitely would recommend any other Italian restaurants. Enjoy the cold leftover picture, that I probably won’t be eating.
Super dead any two others in there , atmosphere is stale playing Christmas music in February, olive oil to bred is rancid and the bread was hard , I got the trio and my chicken and my husband’s was super dry and hard , the lasagna was super wet in a bad way no flavor and cold in the middle the only thing that tasted good was the Alfredo and it was a super small portion, the meatballs appetizer was okay but the Mac and cheese bites tasted like fried fish . Service was ok she was trying her best, but the screaming baby didn’t help. So for the price I paid it was definitely not worth it would not recommend to any one else nor will I ever be coming back .
I took my mother to Macaroni's for Mother's Day, expecting a delightful Italian meal. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Despite several open tables, we waited about 30 minutes to get seated. Once seated, we waited another 30-45 minutes to get our food. The pasta dishes were bland and lacked the authentic Italian flavors we were hoping for. For the price, I felt we were only paying for the ambiance. However, I do have to admit that our waitress provided excellent service. To be honest, Jason's Deli offers much better and tastier pasta dishes than Macaroni's. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're looking for genuine Italian cuisine.
I was very excited to go here for the first time. After reading all the reviews I expected an amazing meal. Unfortunately that was not the case. For appetizers we had the max and cheese bits and the mozzarella triangles. The mac and xheese buts were amazing on their own and dipped in the alredo sauce with oul they were delicious. The mozzarella triangles on their own were bland the breading had no flavor but the marinara dip was amazing. I ordered the mac and cheese that had several different cheeses blended with an Alfredo sauce and I added breaded chicken. The breaded chicken was bland no real flavor from the breading or the chicken. The pasta and sauce that came with it was amazing plenty of flavor. The second order was shrimp Alfredo to add the shrimp it was a little over 5 dollars for 4 pieces of small shrimp. I asked my wife to stire the pasta that maybe there were more mixed in. We'll no there wasn't just 5 small pieces of shrimp. My wife said the shrimp had a seafood after taste so no seasoning on it or anything. Anyone who eats seafood knows what I'm talking about. She said the Alfredo sauce was bland and the pasta was dry (not enough sauce). The third order was grilled chicken Alfredo. The same comment about the sauce was made and the grilled chicken had no seasoning on it it tasted like bare chicken also if anyone who has had chicken with no flavor can understand the flavor. It's disgusting and will take away your hunger in an instance. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 noon time. There was 2 other family's there so nor rush in the kitchen to push out food or make bad food. This place is to expensive for garbage food. I will never return and this post is to remind me to never do so. I spent 110 dollars and we were very disappointed.
food was mid, atmosphere looked depressing and so quiet, absolutely terrible. Server didn’t bring the right drinks, forgot to bring us the bread, and was just straight up bad over all…. it was our first time here and literally will be the last.
Who would genuinely think “unlimited” refers to getting a side with your meal, rather than any literal unlimited amounts of something. $3.50 for a house salad on a $23 meal is absurd. Save your money and sanity, and go to Olive Garden. They also charge for refills of ginger ale of all things. The air of fine dining mixed with crayon covered table coverings and absurd charges. Food was fine for a chain restaurant but not good enough to redeem the experience.
