Wow. Just wow. I didn’t think places like this existed. Prices were absolutely fantastic.. I felt like we were going back in time with how affordable this place is! Chips, salsa AND queso are complimentary. We HAD to try the All You Can Eat menu. $8.99 per person for as many rounds as you want, first order comes with rice & beans, then it is optional after that. The tacos were sooo good. Tamales awesome. Sangria swirl & top shelf margarita was a steal & super tasty. We will DEFINITELY be back. Our waiter Pablo was exceptional- very efficient and courteous. I really hope this place stays in business because I think it’s now our new favorite restaurant in McKinney, and we have lived here 2 years now! Thanks so much!

Older Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. Parking is adequate but might be an issue at busy times. This Jalapeno's has two other restaurant locations. It is not part of the national chain of restaurants with the same name. The large margaritas are huge (27oz) and were very good. The chips, salsa and queso we great. We really enjoyed our entrees. Staff was attentive and polite. Prices are surprisingly inexpensive. Highly recommend.

Fast and friendly service. I definitely want to go back, and try it again. A little disappointed with the jalapeno shrimp. It was pretty bland, and kinda greasy. I love that they give you free queso. The fajita chicken and steak was great.

I'm glad we went here for dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful. They bring chips and salsa and cheese to get you started. They were able to make a custom Chimichanga without any hassle. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

A quaint mom & pop restaurant with a decent selection and fair pricing. We ordered two entrées, an appetizer, and dessert, all for $40 and some change--and my portion was enough for two meals. I personally found the rice to be a bit bland, but adding some salsa helped a lot. We did get complementary chips & salsa (and queso, though maybe that was included with the nachos we ordered) with our takeout order, which was nice; and the flan seemed to be homemade, which is always a plus--but you have to eat it quite promptly or it'll dry out. I read they have extra-spicy salsa available upon request and am excited to try it! Service was quick. Overall, a nice place to have right down the street for when we're hankering for some tacos or rellenos!

This place is great!!! The food was delicious when we went and the service was great! It was packed in there on a Saturday night. Even though it was a mad house our server was smiling and helpful. They also give you this delicious cheese dip with the free tortilla chips. My only complaint is that my kid and I went both given straws with holes in them and the walls could use a wipe down.

Overall I'll rate it 3.5 out of five. Unfortunately we can't do it with a point system. The room today was pretty warm and the fans were off despite outside being 95 degrees. The place was dead but our food was about a 9-12 minute wait. The fajita nachos were odd. The cheese was as if they slapped cheese squares and melted them. When I think of nachos, I prefer liquid cheese. The queso was a little odd too, a little lumpy. Also, when my boyfriend got his plate, the server didn't IMMEDIATELY let him know the plate was scorching hot, so he grabbed for it and burned himself. I've eaten here other times too. The beans are okay the rice is okay. But that's it. I don't think the price for the nachos are worth it. It's dry and kinda bland . The fajita meat was also dry. There's plenty of other places around here to eat.

I guess this place is an institution in East McKinney. This place is an older establishment that is very dark inside. Large families were being served. I got the three amigos which is three different enchiladas. It was okay, but too greasy for my taste. The rice was a dirty rice and no alternatives. House margaritas where good tasting but not much to them. Service was okay. Waitress was busy with the large families.

I was in town on business and decided to give this place a try. It’s definitely what we call a “dive.” But sometimes some of the best food ever is hidden away. It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall, with plenty of parking. The inside is quite outdated. I was seated immediately in a booth that had a very old, musty smell. The salsa tasted fresh out of a jar and the chips straight out of a bag. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which is really hard to mess up. They came out sizzling, which was good. The chicken was bland and had no seasoning. There were lots of onions but no bell peppers. The rice and beans were just ok. I would not return here and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Been driving by this place for years. Finally decided to try it. The Carne Asada seemed like it was once frozen. Shape is unnatural, square. The biggest red flag was they didn't ask me how I wanted it done(medium, rare, medium rare etc) There's no indication when you cut into it, if it ever was at one point, a slice of meat. Gave off cat food vibes. I bet if I shredded it and placed it next to wet cat food you wouldn't tell the difference. Thawed out, mass produced piece of meat, placed on a grill for a sear and slapped on a plate. The taste was just as bad. No seasoning. Honestly the cheese on top did not have any taste either, 1 molecule away from being plastic. The cheese and salsa that came with the chips 100% came from a can. I might give this place another try in a few years. 2/5 stars. The food is edible. I've had worse. And the price was *fair* for what I got. Just don't expect real food here.

Seamless Vacays

Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. We were charged for extras without being asked or even informed, which already set the tone for how dishonest this place is. The food was disgusting. The rice tasted like dirty water, and the meat seemed expired—the only thing masking it was an excessive amount of pepper, which felt like an attempt to cover up spoiled food. Shortly after eating, we became very sick, which is unacceptable and honestly alarming. The chimichanga was a joke. It wasn’t fried at all—just a soggy burrito, nothing like what a chimichanga is supposed to be. Zero care, zero quality, zero pride in the food they serve. Between the surprise charges, inedible food, and getting sick afterward, this place is not just bad—it’s unsafe. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.
