Love italian food? Then come here, seriously its the best around town. Fancy nice atmosphere but without the fancy overpriced menu. Very affordable and on par with normal restaurants but much better quality food and service. This is how all places should be. Their bread is awesome everyone needs to try it, all the food is perfect. Great experience everytime.
I absolutely loved this place. I was hoping for a fine dining experience walking in blind and it did not dissapoint! Walton at the bar made my experience amazing! Walton gave me amazing recommendations that were delicious. He also was very accommodating with my allergies and made me feel like I was in safe hands (which I was!) thank you to Walton and staff for a top notch experience! Have the artichokes and have the pasta of the season! These folks really take care of their customers. Seriously one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time!
Our family stopped by Amerigo for dinner after our visit to Graceland. It was a great experience. The food was very good. The drinks were well made. The service was great. All the ingredients needed for a nice culinary experience with family. I ordered the rideye which was nice and juicy. My wife ordered the tortellini with crab which she really enjoyed. My father-in-law ordered the crab cakes which he enjoyed as well. My teen daughter ordered her favorite dish, pepperoni pizza which did not disappoint her.
Very nice restaurant. I come in to get something simple to eat. Service was really nice. Got a small fettuccine alfredo to go it was $13 which is not a bad price. Definitely will be back to sit down to eat.
Came here for my office Christmas party, we made a reservation because it was 8 people. We didn't wait long, our server Natasha greeted us and we immediately were served waters. We ordered appetizers and I had the salmon special. I received blackened salmon and shrimp with the potatoes and brazed greens. Everything was delicious and we received the best service. We'll definitely return
First time here. Was looking for an Early Bird menu with special pricing from 4 pm - 6 pm. Upscale experience. No tank tops/sleeveless shirts allowed. Can make reservations online, which I did. Excellent service. Highly satisfied. Receipt indicated one can sign up for a Rewards program earning points. Signed up and requested the points to be added via website. Waiting for reply. Covers other locations & restaurants for more earning opportunities.
Our waiter V was awesome. Service was top tier 💯 food was great. This is a very clean, upscale place with amazing food choices.
Joy was outstanding as our host and waitress ! Amazing recommendations! The goat cheese pasta and cedar roasted pork chop — out of this world! Try the bruschetta and shrimp bisque, too!!! WHOA!
We were seated quickly with our reservation. The hostess and waitress were very friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I ordered three cheese tortellini with blackened chicken. It was a generous portion. The tortellini was delicate and tasty in the cream sauce.. which wasn’t too heavy. I halved the portion and took some home. The bread that came before the entree was tasty, especially with the olive oil drizzle provided.
Solid local Italian restaurant. We went as a large group and enjoyed the food. We ordered: 1. Free bread - this was delicious. (5/5 🌟) 2. Calamari - this was prepped well and was cooked perfectly. The side dipping sauces were also very tasty. (5/5 🌟) 3. Cheese fritters - these were like a delicious extra cheesy biscuit. (5/5 🌟) 4. Chicken Piccata - a little heavy on the salt, but overall, it's a good dish. (4.5/5 🌟) If I lived locally, I would return and try other dishes.
We dined for lunch on a Sunday, after the lunch peak. The server was honest about some of the dishes and recommended some excellent options. The red wine by the glass selection is good. The dining area is spacious and could be considered informal or formal which is why I enjoyed the dining experience. Recommend if you’re in the Germantown area of Memphis.
Amerigo has long been one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing and not crazy expensive. The service is always great and they are happy to provide as much of their amazing focaccia bread as you can eat. Don't forget the tiramisu either
So happy with my 14th wedding anniversary here. I had concerns about the experience happening in the middle of all the quarantine efforts but the restaurant came through with distancing, masked waitstaff and per usual the great food my wife and I remember them for. This is great Italian food in a nice warm cozy environment. Great for date nights. Servers were attentive but not bothersome. Not a loud atmosphere at all. Children were present but I wouldn't necessarily consider this a family restaurant unless it's our dress up and go out night. Highly recommend all around.
I had a great experience at Amerigo and believe it is safe to say it deserves its spot amongst the top Italian restaurants in the Memphis area. The restaurant itself is clean, calm, and elegant from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. The staff members are all beyond friendly and welcoming, and the servers especially are attentive and caring. The food, of course, was outstanding not only in taste but also in presentation. Everyone was satisfied with their beautiful and delectable dishes, and the dessert was as phenomenal as the entree. I will definitely be returning and would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to others!
Food was quick bar food but good. Panini Pizza was really great. Pizza was good and large. Line Music was great. Definitely will be back. Staff not that quick but friendly enough.
First visit..... Loved it!!!!! The best pork chop I have ever eaten. Thick, juicy and tender.... I cut into 3 more pieces after I got home to have later .... delicious!!!Flavorful. Our server was very attentive and funny
My best friend invited me to celebrate the birthday of her amazing mother, who is also a Mom to me too. We met at Amerigo's. It was the first time I had ever been. From the ambiance to our amazing waitress, Emily (from New Orleans, I believe), everything was absolutely phenomenal! I expected the food would probably be good, but I didn't anticipate that everything would be so delicious!! If I could give Amerigo's 10 stars, I would. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time!
The cheese fritters will make you weep tears of joy. My husband and I argue every single time we go here whose food is better; he gets the seafood pasta and I get the three cheese tortellini. We both leave very happy but I know the tortellini is so much better than the seafood pasta. Both are marvelous. But the fritters. Seriously. Indescribable. The service is always umatched. Very accommodating, knowledgeable, and perfect. The bathrooms are very clean, as is the rest of the restaurant. We go here any chance we get. Perfect for a date night or casual outing. It’s a nice establishment but you don’t get weird looks when you’re dressed casually (we went after a UofM game one time). We love amerigos!! (Get the tortellini!!)
Exceptional food and service we had tonight…We had cheese fritters to start as a great appetizer… sausage & bow ties had excellent flavor / texture and the chicken margarité was also just delicious. To top it all off, the prices are quite fair for such good food and portions. We can’t wait to go back!
This place never disappoints! Great food, exquisitely professional service, and just the right moody ambiance to make you feel relaxed yet elegant. Add this to your list of must try!
Andrew, the GM, was super nice and helpful and our waitress was wonderful! We have been to this “chain” in other cities, but each city has a unique and fun atmosphere. Will 100% be back.
I have visited for both lunch and dinner. The food is always wonderful. The flavor, the temperature, and the presentation are always fantastic. The servers are so friendly and fast. They are attentive without being annoying. The atmosphere is more executive, from the layout, seating, and lighting. It's great for a business meeting and anniversary dinner. However, the prices are very fair and affordable. I highly recommend Amerigo!
This restaurant is fantastic. We walked in at lunchtime and waited less than 30 seconds when the hostess came up an apologized for our wait. We were seated immediately at a table of our choice. Natasha was a very pleasant waitress. She went above and beyond. Even the sous chef came to our table to double check my special order (an item not listed as a side, but I wanted it added to my meal). The food was fantastic; served hot an delicious (and huge portions)! Definitely coming back!
Amerigo's is outstanding! Even when the restaurant is super-busy, the restaurant is still a top-tier level with their food, professionalism, and service. The manager named Constance was amazing.
Can’t rate this place high enough! Food was great! Last minute dinner decision and we didn’t wait long before being seated and receiving our food. Our waiter, Scotty, was FANTASTIC! He was seriously the best! He brought refills continuously, offered extra bread, and entertained us in casual conversation. Once again, can’t say anything bad. Make sure you ask for Scotty and tiramisu for dessert!
The food was amazing, I don't usually eat everything on my plate but I couldn't stop eating, it was sooooo good. The service was great too! We are going to do our next birthday dinner here.
My First visit in 10 years and it was amazing! Seated timely with reservations, food came out on time and was hot! Our server, Makayla, was exceptional and extremely attentive and cordial. The Plank Pork Chops are outstanding!!! I didn't get to eat much of my order, because once my wife tasted it she ate most of it! However we both agreed it was amazing. Will visit more frequently going forward. Great Meal for a more than reasonable price! One last thing - the bread and olive oil and herbs are great starters too!!!
First time coming to this location after visiting the Nashville location. I had an amazing experience. The food, drinks and service were all A1. If he's available, ask for Marcus. He was very professional and there was never a time I felt I was neglected. 10/10 would dine there again.
Some of the best steak Ive had in Memphis. The server was polite and really knew the menu. Cheese fritters where a nice way to start the date night. Would recommend going here.
Amerigo catered our holiday party, in Cooper Young, for our group of 25 guests. Aimee Davidson made the process seamless, thank you Aimee! Her suggestions during the ordering process were helpful. Our group was elated with the delicious spread of quality dishes. Aimee and her team think of every detail and made feeding our group the best possible experience. Great communication throughout the process, delivery service was polite and helpful. 10/10 recommend!
The liquor costs more than the food, but everything was spectacular. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was seasoned well and I didn’t even need steak sauce. Pasta was delicious. Server was wonderful. I’m going back next week.
I had an absolutely awesome meal at Amerigo! First visit at this location. I made a reservation and waited only about five minutes before being seated. The Italian bread with herbs was delicious, and every appetizer we tried — from the cheese fritters to the calamari — was excellent. I chose the smoked chicken ravioli for my entrée, and it was truly delectable. We finished dinner with key lime pie for dessert, and it was mmm good. Overall, the meal was fabulous. My only complaint was the air-conditioning, which felt brutally cold at times. Thankfully it wasn’t on continuously, but I couldn’t help wondering — why is the AC blasting on a cold January night? Our server was excellent as well. A+!
I ordered the fish of the day, Chilean sea bass, it was delicious! The service, however, could have been better. I'm not sure if the server was new, but she needed more support. She was a nice young lady, but it was just a little too slow for the prices, and not what I'm accustomed to when I visit restaurants that are similar.
Veal was OK. The PB Blondie was incredible and worth the visit.
The environment is nice and cozy. Great service; they're willing to make accommodations for your needs. Although, I wasn't asked how I would like my salmon cooked, my filet was on the dry side. The brownie was hard on the outside; the rest of it tasted good paired with the caramel and pecan toppings and ice cream.
Food was ok! Salmon and vegetables were great. The blueberry lemon drop hit the spot. The lovely greeter at the door welcoming customers was super sweet and inviting. The server was ok but a little busy...with 3 tables! The soup.. nahhhh to thick and looked as if the cheese or milk curdled. Overall I would go back for drinks. Forgot to get pics!
Overall really liked the place. Service was great, we had a reservation for 8 people, and everything came out correctly. I did enjoy the bread and olive oil. For appetizers we got the calamari, crab cakes, and cheese fritters. Everyone enjoyed the calamari, crab cakes, and cheese fritters. For the main course, I got the chicken parm which I had really enjoyed. I did find the tomato sauce a little soupy, but the chicken was very juicy and everything tasted good. The others I was with enjoyed their lasagna, Alfredo dishes, and eggplant parm. We did not get dessert because we were all so full from all the food we had ordered. Overall never had to wait for drinks either, was an enjoyable experience.
Very nice place for a quiet evening. Food is ok. Calamari appetizer was ok. Veal piccata was ok. Lack more Italian flavor. My daughter ravioli lacked salt. But the place very busy. I'll give it another chance.
Had the steak Gorgonzola, over salted noodles... Couldn't eat the noodles.. hubby got the Salmon..it was perfect.. I feel chief over salts here, been here a few times it's always salty.
We were greeted by the sweetest host and the food came.out fast and it tasted really good. We loved the warm bread served with oil. Our server was not very friendly, we felt forgotten at times, and felt like we irritated him with our simple, small, requests. We would return but with a different server.
Came to this establishment last night and orders the shrimp bisque soup!AMAZING then I ordered my entree lake catfish with smoked Gouda Mac n cheese and braised greens. My greens were sweet didn’t like it and my mac n cheese didn’t taste like nothing but my catfish was great . I be back to try other dishes
I had the Turkey panini for lunch. It was delicious, but super rich. I believe the caramelized onions should take some richness out and provide sweetness. Therefore sweet and savory. My sandwich was lacking on the caramelized onions, so maybe a helpful tip- add maple bacon and it would be the bomb of a panini. Both so savory and sweet. Just a suggestion.
I was extremely uncomfortable when I entered this establishment and left so disappointed! I had to sit myself at the bar because there was no one to greet me upon entering and when I asked the waiter who was by the kitchen area they said go to the bar. I did not want to dine in but order to go which was why it became uncomfortable not to say I haven't had to place my to-go order at the bar before but the whole point was to go not to have to sit & wait where clearly the staff was looking at you weird because you just left the gym and were in your gym attire at this so-called fancy restaurant lol... I waited a little over 10 minutes before I was even approached on a slow weekday when there were about less than 10 others total in the whole restaurant (see actual timer)... When I was finally approached by someone it was quite obvious that they were so irritated like they were forced to take my order, guessing I didn't appear to fit the mold of what their patrons should look like. I still wanted to give this place a try! When I placed my order it was slightly shunned upon as if maybe I couldn't afford it... since when do restaurants not put utensils in the bag? Since when you don't get bread here with your pasta order? To say the least, when I got my food I was so disappointed I could have received a decent size salmon for the ratio of bland pasta I received and paid for. Nothing was impressive, the service, the food, the restaurant oh well maybe the parking but that's it! I love pasta and I ended up throwing my whole dish in the garbage where it belongs after a few bites. I do not recommend it, try Grisanti and you will see exactly what I mean!
Disappointing food. We got the 5-layer lasagne and the bowtie & sausage pasta. The lasagne was barely hotter than room temperature - there were visible pieces of unmelted shredded cheese. It was also very salty. The bowtie and sausage smelled like good vodka sauce but was somehow bland. Also, there's no mention of the cheese crust that covers the whole dish when you look at it on the menu. This wasn't horrible but it wasn't what I wanted either. This cheese crust also means that any pasta touching the edges of the bowl will be baked on, drying it out and ruining the texture. The bread and caesar salad were good. The atmosphere is great and so was the service, but given our issues with the food, we wouldn't return.
I don't usually leave negative reviews. And I've probably been here 5 times, and never had an issue until my most recent visit, this past Thursday 1/22/26. My wife asked for her filet medium rare and it came out like charred leather (not even slightly pink). She suggested we could take it home to feed to the dogs, as we don't like food waste, and the waiter--don't remember his name, but he had a nose piercing-- says "Well, you'll have to pay for it then" as if they're not just going to throw it away 🙄 And on top of that, the sea bass I ordered was not cooked. It was still glistening and fatty inside; not flaky, I couldn't cut through it. When I brought this to the waiter's attention, instead of apologizing and immediately replacing the dish, he says "Do you want me to put that back in the oven for you... Or do you want something else?" I was at a loss for words. Never had a waiter say something like that. Why would I want you to put a piece of fish that has already been cut up and dissected back into the oven? After our dishes were replaced, the waiter then said "I'm sorry about the kitchen staff, I think they're just eager to get home" even though this was 90 minutes before closing! It really wasn't a great experience at all and we won't be going back. Kitchen staff needs to be re-trained on food temperatures and waiter could use a lesson on basic server etiquette. Waiter made us feel like we were the problem, for being server charred steak and raw fish. Meals should have been comped.
I love this place up until yesterday. I visited this place celebrating a birthday. I ordered the blackened catfish with the macaroni and cheese, braised greens. As I took a fork of the greens. I noticed something feeling funny in my mouth as I proceeded to pull it out it was plastic cooked in my food either the macaroni or the greens. It had to be about 4 or 5 inches long. I've never had a bad experience at this place. My waiter handled the situation very unprofessionally.
I ordered strawberry tiramisu. They gave me plain tiramisu with a strawberry on top of it. ("He'll never know.")
I visit this place frequently on my lunch during the week on this day it’s not busy but my server at the bar Deanna was not it. Instead of her asking if I needed anything or is the food ok I had to advise her. Potatoes came out cold asked for fresh ones and she microwaved them and brought them back out. Service sucked on this day!!!
Please get pest control to go to this location. Sat next to the bar on the two top booth and saw 3 little roaches just crawling on the side. We saw it while eating our meal and we just packed the food and left. Didn’t even feel comfortable to let management know. Also the service was mid. Server didn’t see like he wanted to be there, understandable. But main concern was the roaches on the booth.
I want to start this review by saying I have eaten here maybe a dozen times before and the food and service have been excellent. We always sat in the actual restaurant, but this last time we sat at the bar. This experience was not good. It started with the draft beer I ordered was out. My wife and I then just had water. Never did the bar tender fill the water glass once ( never asked). I ordered a salad with my meal, it never came. Bartender said smoothing about not getting my salad as he brought out our food, but never went to get my salad. When I got my food it was cold. When done I asked for my check and put my credit card on top of bar. After a long time I received my check but bartender did not take the card I now was trying to hand him. After another long time where the bartender disappeared in the kitchen he came out and finally ran my card. It was not overly crowded. Maybe just having a bad night. I will return just won’t go back and sit in the bar.
