A tiny restaurant across from the Palace of Music; delicious traditional Oaxacan food and excellent service from Nico, the waiter... the prices are fair...
My husband and I loved the food. My husband is from Oaxaca and he was thrilled with his pork taco in green salsa. The tlayuda was also incredibly delicious. We ordered a mixed one to share and it was more than enough; we were very full. I loved the lemonade—so refreshing and delicious. The service is excellent; the staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you're happy and satisfied. They're always attentive to your needs. You can really feel the warmth of Oaxaca. 10/10. Thank you so much.
A good example of Oaxacan flavor, the taste is outstanding, and the service is excellent. One of my favorite places in the sprawling city of Mérida. Their traditional cuisine adds a special touch to the already distinguished flavors. They offer a wide variety of dishes full of flavor and tradition. Their fresh waters have a distinctive spark. The cold chocolate is simply delicious. Highly recommended.
Walking through the streets of Mérida, we stumbled upon this lovely, colorful, and quaint restaurant. It has very affordable prices, and the food is good quality. Their salsas are spicy 😅 We ordered tacos 🤤 and they were delicious. The service is also good; they're attentive to your needs. You can pay by bank transfer or cash. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that the restrooms are upstairs 😅 and since it's like a big house, it was a little scary 😱😨😅 but it's understandable. They also have a wall where you can leave a comment. I would definitely go back to try more of their food.
The food was excellent, and everyone was very attentive and friendly. The horchata was also quite delicious. We ordered the Oaxacan platter, which included a bit of everything: beef jerky, enchilada beef, quesadillas with epazote, grasshoppers, chorizo, quesillo, and handmade tortillas. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.
Delicious traditional Mexican food, the portions are very large, delicious and filling. They also have a small shop with Oaxacan products. The Chapulín taco is a must-see, as is the Tlayuda. I dare say that not even in Oaxaca are there tlayudas as delicious as those in Mérida. The best Tlayudas. ❤️🇲🇽
The tlayudas are delicious, the best I've had in Mérida. I liked the mole enchiladas, but a little more cream and cheese would have been great. The place is nice, we always come back for the tlayudas.
The Oaxacan community shares with the Yucatecan community and visitors the classic tlayuda, a "30 cm corn tortilla," which is spread with beans, then quesillo (also known as Oaxaca cheese), lettuce, grilled tasajo (beef jerky) or beef jerky, and spicy salsa made in a molcajete (a type of sauce made with a molcajete). Finally, the tlayuda is placed on the brazier (an anafre) to toast and become crispy.
They're losing a lot of ground. It's getting worse and worse. The food is okay, but this is the third time it's disappointed me. The previous two times there was no mole. Unbelievable. This time there was mole, but no chicken. We ordered rice for the enchiladas. The cook said, "Enchiladas don't come with rice." "I want rice," I replied, furious. It took forever... Mole with tasajo (dried beef)... since they didn't have chicken, they offered me that. I love black mole and tasajo, but NEVER order them together. Seriously. I don't know if I'll be back.
Overpriced for what they offer, and not even that good. I ordered a tlayuda with a protein and they gave me crumbs; it wasn't even worth half the price. Completely different from the picture on the menu, which looked well-presented.
We visited this Oaxacan restaurant and had a mediocre experience. We were offered a typical cacao drink, which was delicious, and at the end, they gave us complimentary ice cream, a nice touch. However, the food was somewhat simple and lacked ingredients for the rather high price. Overall, everything was good, but nothing special.
Ever since I discovered this place, I fell in love with the ice cream. It was reasonably priced, there were so many delicious flavors, and I liked the man who served me. Whenever I went out with friends, I recommended this place. I came back a few days ago and noticed they had moved; they weren't on the corner anymore. Anyway, I went in and was disappointed. Now they only had three flavors, none of those delicious ones. They only had coconut, lemon, and one other. They were 10 pesos more expensive, and the man who used to serve me wasn't even there anymore. I'm going to miss the ice cream; I really loved it, but it's not worth it anymore...
The first time I went, we ordered a 10-taco stew promotion. There were five different courses of stew, and all were delicious and good-sized. The second time we went, they didn't have any stews, so we ordered chorizo, beef jerky, grasshoppers, and enchilada tacos. However, the tacos were too small (like the tortillas for al pastor tacos) with very little meat. The flavor was very good, but the price seemed high since each taco cost $45 pesos and had very little meat. We also ordered hot chocolate. It was very good, but it had quite a bit of sugar (I estimate it was 30% cacao and 70% sugar), so we had to dilute it with half a liter of water, and it was still sweet (the cacao flavor was never lost).
Terrible taste, I left disappointed. I ordered enfrijoladas and the beans were tasteless, the tortilla was cold and hard, and the mole was also tasteless. It was nothing like the Oaxacan flavor, and it took them almost 30 minutes to bring our food.
