The young Hispanic guy is very friendly😊🤗 and courteous in Chans he always polite and has a smile on his face and greets the customers. But the Hispanic girl is very rude no hospitality or common courtesy and has no respect for customers she act like she didn't want to serve me cause I was of color overall the food is good.
Haven't had Chineese food in awhile. Called Chan's and the lady who took my order was nothing but nice, kind and patient. I requested extra sauce. Our order arrived in an hour just as we were told. The food was wonderful and exactly as ordered. Great job Chan's and thank you for a wonderful dinner!
Chicken soup was delicious and plenty of it. Took a full container to go. Lomein combination perfect amount of flavor. Noodles were the exact way they should. Definitely coming back.
Honestly ive never had a problem or major issue with delivery. Sure my soda was forgotten but wasnt a big deal. An honest mistake and the driver always comes back with my soda if its forgotten lol. But the food is awesome. Flavorful and cooked all the way through. Portions are big. I ordered the linch portion today and i almost got halfway through eating it and im already full. Hey at least i will have an awesome lumch tomorrow!
Out of all the Chinese restaurants I've tried in mesquite, their food was the ultimate best. They were pretty busy when I called in for a delivery but I still received my order in 45 minutes. That was 15 minutes earlier than what I expected. The food is great! Literally great!!!!
This place had so much variety and everything made fresh when ordered. Great quality and quantity for the money. I love the place and wished I lived closer. I could eat there everyday.
I actually visited the benches outside this time. But I love to eat here! Great food, great service, fast. Somewhat sterile environment inside, not lucky about that as it worked, was efficient and the food is good!
You can tell a lot of these reviews are from people ordering take out expecting the freshest food they've ever been served. I sat down here and ordered sesame chicken and it is legit some if the best sesame chicken I've ever been served!
The combination fried rice is the best bang for your buck I've found in Mesquite. It is easily 2-3 meals for me and its always packed with flavor. It is a favorite for our household.
Got chicken lo mein and sesame chicken with fried rice yesterday on the drive through Dallas to see family. Did not expect to get roughly 10 pounds of some of the best food we've had in awhile. Great prices, great portions, great food.
I love Chan's. I've been eating here for years and not much has changed. Food is awesome and the portions are very large for a fairly cheap price. I myself always get the chicken lo mein and have never found its equal and I try every Chinese joint I can find. Everyone I take to this place loves it as well. I find it very discouraging to find that they are rated so low. First of all let me explain this place is not fast food. The food is not sitting under a heat lamp waiting for you to order it. They cook it. It usually takes 15 minutes or so when you're there so I can imagine driving around the traffic nest of mesquite it could take some time. But don't give them a 1 rating if you like their food and had a slow delivery. If you hate the food that's fine. But if you do like the food that is misleading. If you don't want a slow delivery, get off your lazy butt and go there. Again this is a resturaunt, not a fast food joint. I myself have never ordered a delivery. I have ordered to go and went and picked it up. I always show up 30 minutes after I order and it has always been waiting for me. Oh yeah service has always been great too.
Awesome service. Excellent food and HUGE plates and entrees. Highly recommended by far one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to ever
The cashier we spoke today was so kind. We were in the area for some farming business today. We stopped by Rio grande waiting on time to meet up for our pre-existing obligations. Drove through the parking lot and stopped so fast to take a chance for lunch. The food was so good and stayed hot. I got the cashew chicken and it was so good. Variety of flavors and the bamboo shoots in there are always welcome in my book. My only complaint was that there might need to be some sewage work done in the building. The smell went away after getting in the building, but it was pretty strong smelling in there.
I've been living in this area for years and have been going to Chan's since day one. The food has always been great, but I must say this business has only gotten better. The open environment is perfect for dining in. It is very clean, the staff is respectful and courteous. Customer service is exceptional. Carry out orders are executed in a timely manner. Highly recommended for great Chinese food!
Food is really good. Orange chicken is super good..service is Great
The food was great but the cashier cared more about her conversation with a coworker than taking our order.
General Tso's chicken is what I'm getting next. Fantastic service. So much food. It all was excellent. Chicken Lo Mein was just really good. The sweet and sour chicken, was sweet and sour. Will definitely be coming back! Had Pepsi.
Food was ok but definitely not enough flavor. I would choose another place to eat in the further
They helped us determine how much food would accommodate us. But most importantly the protein to rice/noodle ratio was perfect, lots of meat in it.
I ordered carry out from Chan’s on January 1, 2026 and didn’t get my sweet and sour sauce that I ordered with my food. I called and the lady took my order said she didn’t get my order correct because she was training someone and then ask me what did I want her to do about it because they didn’t charge me for the sweet and sour sauce. She kept saying they didn’t charge me for it as if that makes it okay. They don’t need her training anyone. She need to go back for a refreshing training course because she don’t listen to what the customer is ordering. But as for me I’m done with Chan’s because this is the second time they’ve gotten something wrong with my order and they don’t care when you call them about the inaccuracy in the order. There’s too many other places to spend my money at then Chan’s.
It’s a very good Chinese restaurant really great food. Good for delivery or takeout or eating in all of those are good options. Try the barbecue pork rib ribs so delicious.
Absolutely love Chan's! First time actually going in as we normally do take out. Environment was relaxing, service great, and the food has always been the best! Highly recommend!
The food portions are large, enough for 2 people to share. They don't give you much rice. I gave a 3 star fir service because I felt it was not good for business to have the cashier ladies in the front talking about another coworker who was upset about not getting hours and that it was her fault when they do give her hours she calls out saying her Mom is sick and she has to take care of her. I shouldn't have to hear that as a patron of the restaurant. It was 3 Hispanic ladies. And it was when the Asian owner man left the counter they were gossiping.
I was in the area saving the world when I decided to grab some lunch. Chan's large sign was inviting, so I went there. Upon entering, Wendy welcomed me and took my order. She also made a nice comment about my shirt and that made me happy. I was served the shrimp fried rice 👌 very bang for buck. I would like to come back with friends, if I had any.
Their charbroiled teriyaki was amazing (not overly sweet), husband's Mongolian was full of flavor and wasn't dominated by onions like a lot of places do. They definitely hand-make their eggrolls, but the chefs kiss was the bbq ribs appetizer. Portions were great and everything was offardable. Even the sides of fried rice were good. 10/10
I called my order in for pickup. It was ready in a timely manner and it was Hot! The Hot and sour soup was so good. We also had Mongolian beef, Sichuan chicken and Gen Tso. They were really good, too. My only complaint was the Gen Tso was soggy. But it had excellent flavor. It is definitely a pick up place. The dining room is clean, but not super nice place to hang out. I will be back. Especially for this soup.
I highly recommend this place for their amazing food! I got the Szechuan pork and it was amazing! Alot of food for what you pay! Ill definitely back! Adding this place to saved places on my google maps for sure! The only thing is, this is my first experience here at chans and the cashier had no common sense. As i was trying to pay i asked the kid whos like 24 maybe, " do you guys have Tap (showing him my phone) " and he asked the guy next to him " hey he wants to know if we have tap water" Like no guy ... Tap .. im trying to pay here hello? And them he makes my order To Go when i told him i wanted to eat in. 🤦🏽♂️
This place so far has been great! The front service is great. Welcoming, patient and respectful. Atmosphere is pretty quite and clean. It hasn't been too busy. Very large area to sit in. Tables and booths are spaced out well. Doesn't look or feel crowded at all! The food is excellent! Have not had a bad experience yet. We did have one issue with putting a certain food in the food ordered. But they replaced it with no hassle whatsoever! Food is hot, fresh and huge portions! Definitely will keep coming here. Thank y'all for all y'all do!
I ordered chicken lo mein and it was very good. I paid extra for an egg roll, it was dry, cold and I threw half of it away when I got home. I think they should fry them fresh if you order them extra from your meal
The food was pretty good. They use a lot of garlic but they serve huge portions. Enough for two people for two days. The young lady that took my order was very friendly and sweet. I will be back to try my other Chinese food favorites😊
During this pandemic, I decided to give this place another shot. The food has gotten better since my last visit, when I swore I'd never be back! 😂 Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and the portions are very generous. I do not like the egg rolls, however, overall my family and I are satisfied with the quality of the food.
Generally the place is pretty dependable. Not one of those greasy Chinese food places. Best not to order anything with chicken at the end of the lunch or dinner rush (tends to be overcooked). The owners are good about checking in periodically to make sure quality stays up. If you see one - and you'll know who they are - they are good about listening to complaints and fixing the problem. One thing though is that their portions are too big. Two meals will feed a family of four.
I ordered 3 things and they were ok. But, the bbq pork lomein was definitely 5 stars! The pork was tender and they gave quite a bit. The portion of noodles were huge and tasted amazing! I will be going back for those!
Food has always been good
The young Man at the front has no buisiness dealimg with customers. The food was OK but there was a funny smell to everthing. Prices just a few dollars to high. Every chinise place in Mesquite is better. I didn't ask for a refund because I think they are a small buisiness...but I wont be back.
We ordered the Orange chicken, General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken and the BBQ ribs. The sesame chicken was the best of all dishes, followed by the orange and the the General's. I have to say that the General Tso's chicken was very different but still good :) The BBQ ribs were tough and rubbery but the portion was nice. Not bad for our first time there.
Everything is made fresh and that's a key point to why the 3 stars however, of all things I felt the food was lacking in flavor. I don't use salt unless necessary but can tell you, the food was bland. A little Salt, Garlic, Ginger, and fish sauce or Hanoi sauce with garlic, ginger and salt would have made a big difference and scored them 5 stars. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired.
This is my 2nd time here. But my companies first time. Food was okay. 1st time was better. Fresh. But this time around, the chicken & veges I ordered was good, but never told it had mushrooms. I don't care for them, but it would have been nice to know this. I asked for spicy, since I was told by the cashier that they can make it spicy if requested, which I did. I really wanted the jalapeno chicken, but it is not made. I would have also been nice if ya'll had a kids menu. And she knew it was for a child. The veges that were ordered for him could have been steamed alot longer, eatable for a toddler. The veges were fresh looking, but hard to chew even for us adults. So imagine the toddler. Anyhow. We assumed the spicy that was requested went into the orange chicken that was ordered because that had a little spice to it. BUT the chicken for that was tough. Not tender at all as we normally find in other places. Didnt go and request anything from the front cashiers. It took long enough to get our order! Then too, the cashier that was "assisting" us, seemed bothered. Didnt care for her attitude at all! I would like to come back and try this one more time. The place is nice, simple, and not crazy crowded. The food is decent. Could be better, but not bad. But the tudes gotta go!
Ok. Went back for lunch. Not a lot of people. Figure good hot food. First those girls who run the register, sad just sad. The food low quality.
Wow, it has been awhile since ate there. Prices for lunch have went up 17%. I ate there today 9/16,Even though the food by the end of my visit was ok, what I went through to get it was not worth it. I requested the pepper steak be cooked 5X well done, watched the cook, total cook time was 20 seconds. I asked it too be cooked longer, girl at counter said you will have to wait for manager, the cook left the cooking station, girl said I am not the cook-??.Manager appeared not to be in building. Was waiting at counter for the longest time, I was ignored, had to raise my voice and complain to get any service. I was the only customer in the place. Three people were at counter the whole time. The worst customer service I have ever seen.
I gave this place 2 stars. 1st. My egg rolls were gross.. not fresh at all. 2nd because I read these reviews after I ordered so the entire time I was eating my food I was grossed out. Won't be eating here again. You guys need to learn word of mouth matters and if role read these reviews they won't be eating here and it's a big reason I won't be eating here again. You guys need to get your business in order. Plus the woman over the phone was pretty rude, sounded like she didn't really care. Work is work people! Suck it up people and do your job.
I only ordered from here because my favorite place is closed. Used to love this place. But yesterday the sweet and sour chicken was tough and soggy (I guess from the steaming vegetables in the box) , my white rice was sticky and didn’t look fresh. The only good was the noodles! Would give it 3 stars at least but I spent a lot of money and main course (chicken) was unappetizing unfortunately.
The quality has gone drastically down, I order the sesame chicken and over time it's less meat and more crums covered in sauce. I hope they see this and improve the quality of chicken they use. I'm a huge fan of their food but I have not been satisfied lately. Huge portions though.
Ordered Orange Chicken for delivery to my office. When the food arrived it was not Orange Chicken. It had so much Garlic on top it made my whole office smell like Garlic Bread. Delivery driver was extremely rude and complaints that the tip that was left was not enough. This isnt the first issue Ive had with him either. Many years ago he did the same thing. Doubt i will be ordering from here again.
I ordered from Chan's from time to time but always for delivery. It normaly takes close to 1 hour but I ordered yesterday and it took 2 hours to get my food. I called 15 times and all I got was a busy signal. I will not longer order from Chan's.
I've been a customer here for a long time, I LOVE the food nothing wrong with the service until recently. I order food on a Friday and as soon as my order was completed she told me it was going to be an hour and a half because the driver was on lunch break. (I wish I could get and hour and a half for lunch). I've already paid no so point in backing out now, I waited for TWO hours for my food. The guys strolls on in and gives me my food. When I start to leave he says HEY! you have to write down the total. I know the guy is asking for a tip..... I'm not dumb but if your gonna be on lunch and then take an additional 30 mins to deliver my food, Your not getting a tip. Sorry. I do tip but only when i fell like the service was worth it. The customer is always right. So I call again a couple days later, Turns out the driver put me on a do not deliver notice. HORRIBLE SERVICE. China First makes the same quality food with better customer service.
The last two times sesame chicken was dry. I went march 21 2024 both meals orange and sesame chicken dry. Very few edible pieces of meat. I went at noon.
I have been ordering food for more than 4 years and I just got harass by the Delivery Guy for Tip. Be careful, he was really mad and they have remove me for getting food delivered ever again. Really bad service.
This used to be the best in Mesquite. Today the restaurant is filthy. Mesquite Health Department please visit soon. The drink machine didn't work as well and they are still selling drinks. Then a man went to fix the CO2 came out said it was fixed and it wasn't. What a waste of 2 dollars. They didn't care. Mesquite is revitalizing and improving and Chan's is not on the wagon. Sad day with a once great restaurant that now cares absolute zero!
EEWWWWW! If you have NO taste buds this is the place for you! From their delivery driver harassing for a tip, to the rude manager on duty who speaks over you and won't let you express your complaint, stay away! I was warned and didn't listen. I hope you do. Ps...i have no clue what meat was used for my "sesame chicken"..i eat a lot of chicken, cook chicken, fillet chicken, mince chicken in my kitchen and what they served was definitely not chicken! No apologies given, no reimbursement offered! I literally threw away $12.00..because I threw the food straight in the trash can. Take my advice and save your money!
I normally don't listen to reviews but this time I should have. I ordered General Tso's chicken and fried rice. What I received was a clumpy mess which I assume was old chicken that they covered in some sort of sweet sauce. It was not sweet and spicy it was all sweet and disgusting. My fried rice was just reheated steam rice with no eggs or vegetables. I will not go back. Disappointed
I love the food here, I come here a lot to eat but today I came to eat in and they have no drinks, apparently their fountain machine is not working that is not good business!! I'm an entrepreneur and have had my own convenient stores, gas stations, and restaurants and I never had that problem in my stores. Running a business requires to make sure that the customers are happy but today I am not happy coming here to eat in. The manager needs to fix the problem! Also the employee said " Oh I forgot to mention that the fountain machine is not working" when she was charging me for the food. Plus a customer came in and she's going to check him out while checking me out for the food seriously! That's just ridiculous! I'm first she needs to take care of me first than the other customer.
This place went from "heroes to zeros" overnight. My wife and I were loyal regulars. We always prepared for the wait, it was worth it. A few botched orders, we can live with. Forgotten sides, or egg rolls, whichever. Now the final straw was, when they royally messed up our order. The dishes had shrimp in them. We're allergic to shellfish. Called to inform them of their screw up, they tried placing fault on us. I did get to speak to a manager, which she acted like, yet again, it was our fault. That we ordered shrimp dishes. I have never in my life seen an operation turn to crap that fast. No matter what they may do in the future to turn things around, we will never be dining there again.
Be careful with this restaurant when you are ordering food because the Asian delivery guy harasses me for tip then when you say you don’t have it, they remove you from getting any food delivered for no reason at all. I’ve been eating there for 2 years! And after trying to complain to the manager she act with such disregard and no care in the world.
If I could give them zero stars and add a review, i would have. I ordered white meat chicken teriyaki, i got chicken thighs, which i don't eat. They also forgot to send the rice and egg roll i ordered. $15.00 thrown away. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. When i called them all they could say is that i could pick up my rice and egg roll tomorrow. I'm on social security and order out very rarely. I will never choose this place again!!!!!
We hadn't been here in many years because the last time we went it was bad, we gave it another try today and it was horrible. The sesame and orange chicken looked like it had been refried several times, almost black in color and so hard. The filling in the wonton soup didn't even resemble meat, it had some pink and white rubber pieces inside the dumpling. Very poor quality ingredients. The rice was old. It's unbelievable that people put their name on such horrible food, I would be embarrassed to serve the food I received. A waste of $60 and we will never be back.
We decided along time ago not to order from Chan's. It is usual burnt and old tasting. I accidentally ordered from them instead of the other place we order from. We went ahead and didn't cancel the order. We got the food the orange chicken was burnt and old tasting. The egg rolls were old too. I called back to have them send a fresh order of orange chicken. Hopefully this one will be better. We are giving the first order back to them. I have deleted their number from my phone. We will never order from Chan's again . Big waste of money.
I have been a customer here for over 3 years. I understand sometimes this place gets busy and the delivery's take a little bit longer than expected. However, from a consumer stand point, if you only have 1 delivery driver, wouldn't it be smart to have them eat before work? Or at the very least, let them eat on site? How can I recommend this establishment when I get told, "Your order will be delivered in a hour and a half because our delivery driver is on lunch" (Wait a minute, I am a paying customer who must wait a hour and half because that's a lunch break now?) ... Maybe have a 2nd driver on duty who can fill in during this period??? Just a thought. Then finally get my food two hours after the call. On top of that, the delivery driving basically demanding a tip. TWO HOURS FOR FAST FOOD CHINESE DELIVERY!!!! And to put the icing on the cake, block delivery services to repeat customers.
Doing business with this restaurant was the WORST experience I have ever had. I have never ordered from a Chinese restaurant that was so inconsiderate of customers in the realm of customer service. I placed my delivery order with them at exactly 8:50 pm, the guy that took my order didn't quite understand English at all, therefore while retrieving my card information he put in the wrong number which made him call me back to get the correct information. My order came 2 hours late! I kept calling to see if my order was on the way and someone answered stating that the delivery car was having trouble. A business that had KNOWLEDGE about GOOD customer service would have at least given the customer something for free just for having to wait longer. When the delivery guy finally came to my house, he gave me the wrong order. After opening it and seeing that this was not what I ordered, the delivery guy came back to my door and gave me the correct order. I asked him if he was going to give the food that I opened to the person who ordered it and he nonchalantly said yes, and that he didn't see anything wrong with it. At that point I was very disgusted and I told him that I would be calling to speak to a manager the next day. My food was cold and stale, I could not eat it at all. I called multiple times the next day and finally the manager called me back around 5 pm. I expressed to him my experience and he basically told me that he could not issue me a refund or anything unless I returned the food to the facility. My question is why would I have kept the food in the first place and what difference would it make if I had kept the food or not when I had my receipt? I wouldn't be surprised if they would have given that food to another customer of choice. I was so disgusted and dissatisfied with this restaurant and it's way of doing "business" I will never in a million years refer this place to anyone.
I have been ordering food from this restaurant for over 5 years now. Today they just told me they can no longer deliver to my home anymore. I asked why is that, their response was because I canceled an order. Not once have I ever canceled an order with this restaurant. I even asked to speak to the manager who said that he can't change what's in the system. I then asked if I could speak to the owner and turns out the owner is the manager. I am very upset because I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant and they act like they can't help me. So if they can't help a loyal customer they sure can't help a new one. My family eats here very often and they have defiantly lost a loyal customer and could care less how they treat their customers.
Something has changed in the quality of food being made at this restaurant. The Kung Pao beef use to be a favorite of mine, but the last two times I ordered it, the flavor and amount of chilies was way off. Last night I ordered the Mongolian beef. The flavor was bad and it was way too salty.
This place is absolute trash. One day I ordered and the containers had cigarette ash on them. A second time they forgot an item on my order. A third time they not only messed up the order, but they put my address on a ban list to not deliver because apparently the driver has an issue with me when I didn't have an issue. It the restaurant. The cashiers have attitudes and they are completely unprossional. This place needs to be shut down or the manager needs replacing. Total waste of a good day. I tried ordering today and the cashier gave a severe attitude and placed my address on the block list. So don't order from them at all.
This had been one of my favorite Chinese Restaurant until this week. My husband and I ordered Lo Mein noodles with Shrimp on Sunday and our food had 2 small stones in the noodles. My husband almost chipped his tooth when he confidently chewed on his noodles. Our disappointment came when my husband went into the restaurant to try to respectfully tell them about our bad experience and instead of apologizing and trying to comfort us that they would do better, the owner/manager not only did not believe us but treated my husband like we were trying to take advantage of the situation to benefit from it. Not only was that disappointing but not to mention insulting. I also called and asked to speak to the owner and I have yet to receive a call back.
If I could give this no stars I would. It used to be so good. I ordered 3 plates to go and my sesame chicken and my husband's dish was just bathed in this dark brown gunk. I took it back and they wouldn't even return all of my money even though I had to drive all of the way back up there. I kept asking to speak to the manager and he wouldn't even come out. Horrible customer service I'll NEVER be back. I'll just go to Kings buffet
I WILL NEVER BUY FOOD FROM HERE AGAIN. My family and I used to pick up from the Garland Location for years, but they closed that location and decided to give this one a try. The first 3 times the food was fine, this fourth time it wasn't edible. The Combination Fried Rice had about 8 big pieces of meat, the rice was hard and tasted like it was either cooked old oil or was fried Twice. the Combination Lo Mein had no pork or shrimp and the noodles were hard and also had this weird taste. We ordered egg rolls and all tasted old and like the refried them in order for them to be hot. I called and spoke with the "manager" and he wanted me to take the food back so he can check it to see if the food was bad. I love about 35min away from that location. 35mins there and 35mins back. I already drove to pick up the food and came back home. That already about an hour of our time. I would have been fine if he just wanted to give us a credit for next time, but he refused to do anything. When we asked if next time the food is bad will he refund it and he said no.
Bad service if you order takeout they don't get your order you sit around for an hour waiting on your food that never comes I will never order from them again
I really do wish I could give this place less than 1 star. I have never had orange chicken that was so rubbery, over fried, awkwardly cut and quite possibly left over from the previous day. It was absolutely disgusting and when returning the entire plate back to the counter with it untouched, there was no assumption something might be wrong with the food, only that I might want a to-go box. No thanks, Chans, you can keep your to-go box along with your orange chicken jerky. Glad to happily add this to my restaurant blacklist. P.S. your restaurant smells like a backed up toilet, please, for you customer's sake, get the plumbing checked out at the very least.
Tables were sticky not clean, we went there at 11am for lunch. Ordered Beef Lo Mein lady told me it had veggies like carrots onion cabbage. So when we get our meal No Carrots No Onion oh there was 1 Onion Chive very small No Cabbage . Told the girl that took our order and she sent it back but reheated it with veggies. Wasn't good. Oh you use to get the fried noodles & fortune Cookie but not anymore you have to pay for it.
This once was a great Restaurant, but service and value for the money has deteriorated. I've been satisfied with portion sizes until now. I ordered Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, and the shrimp was hardly larger than pop-corn shrimp, and there weren't many of them. This dish once had huge shrimp! We've had them deliver, but such things as Terreki chicken arriving.with NO Terreki sause?! I can no longer recommend them!
I have been coming here for years. Even make special trips now that I have moved to Emory, Texas. But not anymore. The last two times has been awful. Flavoring has changed, less chicken and different noodles in the lo mein. And they gave me the wrong order this time. I didn't notice until I got home (should have checked I guess) which means I paid for a special dish and got rice instead. The quality has just plummeted down hill. Sadness because I've been coming here for over 10 years and it was my favorite place to get lo mein.
I remember this place was a big hit when it first opened back in December of '98. I was a senior in high school at the time and I can remember teachers and other students raving about this place before winter break. When my mom and I went for the first time to order, there was a line out the door, and I remembered the smell was so wonderful while standing outside. And we were impressed. I remembered the manager at the time, he was a good man. Then by the early 2000s, I remember hearing rumors that people are finding bugs in their meals. I never had such a problem. About 2002 or 03, that excellently rich attracting flavor reduced to average, but still loved their shrimp lo mein and hot & sour soup. Until 2005, I went to order for my parents and myself and then found myself waiting and waiting. Over thirty minutes later, I noticed customers who ordered after me were getting their meals. I went to ask about my order, and the girl running the register was like "oh.. the kitchen ran out of receipt tape. What did you want again?" Fearing it was going to be undercooked, if they were going to make it in a hurry, and remembering the rumors, I just got my money back and haven't been back since.
Check your order before leaving the restaurant, if you call them for carryout. I've only been here 3 times, and the order I placed over the phone was incorrect at pick-up 2 of those 3 times. Also, the guy who took my order quoted me the wrong prices over the phone and he didn't give me my credit card back after swiping it. His coworker saw my card behind their register and asked if it was mine. Seemed shady to me, plus food wasn't the best. I won't be back.
Come on. For a china's restaurant This place needs to be shut down ASAP!!! I couldn't believe the food that was being served. First, you can only get rice with all your orders except for lo Maine dishes. The rice was undercooked very crunchy. The season was from another country, something out of this world. The egg roll should not be sold here in my 60 years of living. I NEVER HAD an EGGROLL taste sour. and NO MEAT, this was my first and last time coming to this place. When my granddaughter wouldn't eat it and she eats almost anything, it's bad
I ordered food at 9pm last night. They close at 930. When yo got home food tasted so burned. I threw it away. So I called the next day and informed the manager. She said I had to round the food back. I threw the food away and went and got more food somewhere else. I have a receipt. Basically there is nothing she can do. Never going back. Listen to the reviews. First and last time.
Chans has been one of the restaurants I've always enjoyed because they cook all the food in front of you fresh but now they don't. I watched the man grab the vegetables for my plate with his bare hands no gloves on precooked vegetable, when I brought the issue up to the front the women argued with me that I didn't see him Prepare my vegetables and that they weren't precooked there service in this restaurant has gone down tremendously, no more customers Always right. I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Oh yeah I didn't eat i got a refund
Please your food needs major attention we got the orange chicken and we threw it away the chicken fried rice was greasy and flavorless the egg rolls inedible and they forgot my cream cheese appetizer I’m very disappointed I will not be returning
I ordered Orange Chicken last night with white meat. Awful! The food was in a Styrofoam container which leaked through the bottom all over my car. The servers were nice and polite but not sure of the menu. My first bad experience will be the last. Don't get the orange chicken with white meat.
Went there on Christmas night and it was super crowded. I ordered shrimp fried rice. I watched it being cooked and noticed after the cook put it in a styrofoam container another worker came along and transferred it to another container. When I get home it was a greasy mess! The entire bottom of the container was nothing but oil. Now between the two of them handling my food I know they saw that too and still served it. I usually take pictures as proof but didn’t get the chance to. Just disgusting 🤢 🤮
Their webpage states we deliver within 5 miles. I am only 2 miles away but they said they dont deliver there. Update your damm website then
What happened to the food quality and great tasting food this restaurant once had?? We walked in last Saturday night and another couple was headed out from dining in and as we crossed paths the gentleman said to my husband that they drove an hour to eat there at their favorite Chinese food place and they were disappointed, the food was not good and that Chan's was off their game that night. My husband and I were looking forward to eating there and looked at each other and said nope, not wasting money and time if its not going to be good, so we went for pizza. Well tonight for dinner (take out), we decided to give it a try. Please note, we have been long time customers of Chan's and its our number 1 Chinese food place of choice and that we have never had an issue with the food here. This $40 mistake resulted in overall bland food, dry pork in the pork fried rice, sweet tasting (not Spicy) oily Sczechuan beef, fried rice that tasted burnt with toasted shredded carrots, overcooked/dried out egg and even a black burnt piece of i don't know what in the fried rice. We were so disappointed and couldn't believe the bad quality and taste of the food. We didn't finish any of our dishes, we should of just took it back and complained (that's what most people would do and thats what you are prob thinking as you read this), but we didn't have the energy to do so, time to waste driving up there/time there to complain and time to drive back home, so we decided it was a waste of money and that it is what it is - No longer any good, in our opinion. I have just read similar reviews so I feel better knowing I am not alone in thinking this. We should have just got pizza for dinner or for the $40 I could have made some stir fry for alot cheaper and better tasting. Sorry Chan's you lost a loyal customer. We will now stick to China Imperial.
I used to really love this Chinese spot back when I lived in the area. I usually hit up the Rockwall location, but I'd swing by this one every now and then. My go-to order was fried rice without pork and extra steamed broccoli. Last Thursday, I was nearby and didn’t feel like cooking, so I decided to grab a quick meal. It only took about twelve minutes for them to whip it up. But when I got home and opened it up, the rice smelled off, sort of burnt. And it tasted just as bad—really dry and lacking flavor. I was pretty let down with the meal. Not wanting to waste it, I packed up the leftovers and gave them to the homeless guy I see on my way to work.
I ordered chicken fried rice for my kids but it definitely was NOT CHICKEN & it had my whole house smelling like old tuna fish. This place used to be good my family & I have been going here for years but NEVER AGAIN 🤮🤮🤮🤮
What they served me as orange chicken was absolute garbage. The meat was burnt, bitter, and full of tough, inedible pieces. It didn't taste like orange chicken at all-just an overpowering mess of seasoning that was disgusting. The rice was dry and tasteless, drowned in that awful sauce. I couldn't even finish the meal. Total waste of money. I'm never ordering from here again. If this is what they call "orange chicken," they should just shut down the kitchen
Called to place an order before their listed 9:30PM close time, the gentleman who answered placed me on hold and then returned to ask pick up or delivery. He then paused and switched gears and refused to take my order at all — he said the cooks were telling him they didn’t feel like cooking more and had already started to clean. He told me they like to close a little early so they won’t be taking my order because they were ready to clean up and go home, even if that meant closing the shop 20mins early. Be mindful — They will refuse to take any orders starting around 9PM, despite listing their close time as 9:30PM. I’ve been coming here for years and this seems like a new rule. Won’t be back
To start with the overfilled the Togo containers with sauce and it leaked out of the styrofoam containers and then through the paper bags and onto my freshly reupholstered seats. Second the order wasn’t right and the food was of poor quality. Upon calling to discuss the issues they only asked I bring back the incorrect food to be replaced when that was only part of the issue. This is the horrendous excuse for their fried rice and I had ordered ORANGE CHICKEN and clearly was given GARLIC CHICKEN.
I feel so disappointed about chan's restaurant. I found two bug legs on my meal. I called them and explained what happened and tell them i was on my way so they can check it. But BIG mistakes called them ahead , they prepared and told me it was bean sprouts and that they don't have bugs there. Lol. I had a bean sprout and the bug leg in one of the picture and doesn't look the same. And when i touched it on my finger it was just a different one from the other. They charged me anyway. 👎🏼👎🏼 I hope the health department will visit them soon to double check they don't have bugs in the restaurant and at least clean the place.
