Celebrated a birthday here and although several of the items we wanted to try were not on the menu, the food we did order was absolutely delicious. We had the branzino, Mac and cheese, wings and rum cake for dessert. The service was great and drinks were good as well. On Saturdays they have a $20 cover charge and valet is $30.
Greeted and seated by the beautiful owner, Peter. So we expected exceptional standards and it qualified! Low staff that day so it was a bit slow getting our food. But it was a lazy Monday so we enjoyed the lovely skyline view and each other's company as we waited. Great service and delicious food to compliment the vibe. Definitely looking forward to our next trip there.
Went to Barone while in Miami celebrating hubby’s birthday!! Atmosphere was great- right on the water! He, along with me taking some bites, had the oxtails and grits - delicious!l!! I had the avocado toast and the sangria - so so yummy! Overall a great experience! We meet some lovely people while there who were also celebrating their birthdays! We will be back Peter!!!
No complaints. The customer service was great. The food was tasty and well seasoned ( yes Jamaican food). I enjoyed it and I will return with more people. Peter continue to represent your culture through your food and hospitality.
The food and service was outstanding! The outside “Peter’s Patio” gave just the right night vibe near the water. The music was perfect, drinks were yummy and our server was so professional and gave great recommendations. The calamari was perfectly seasoned and fried. The accompanying marinade tasted so fresh. The jerk red snapper fillet was decadent. Surf and Turf was out of this world and enough for 2 meals literally! Be prepared to spend a few dollars but if you’d spend it at Morton’s for a good meal than spend it at Bar One as well because the quality is worth it.
My dish was amazing and very tasty, "Grilled Jerk Snapper Filet." The mashed sweet potatoes was my favorite. Great vibes in the restaurant! Plenty of staff working! Atmosphere was great! Great outside waterfront view of the city from the balcony. No I didn't see Peter!!😃
The food, the service, and the atmosphere. I highly recommend going here. I celebrated my bf's 51st bday here. It was a great experience and they were so accommodating. Great, great job Peter Thomas. And that Oxtail Stew is soooooo freaking good....I enjoyed all my food, but that oxtail stew was so flavorful.....
The ambience was phenomenal, but the food is overrated. However, I will patronize again. The rum cake was good, the scallops 3 ways were delicious, I didn't care for the oxtail soup, the veggie lasagna was excellent, and the other dishes that I tasted were ok, but again, the food is overrated for the price. Don't misunderstand me, I don't mind spending money on good food, but the food must be worth my tastebuds time.
Went here for Sunday brunch for the first time. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews, but left pleasantly surprised! The food, drinks, and service was amazing! I had the pan seared branzino w/ lemon butter broccolini and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! My husband had the blackened shrimp - N - creamy grits which was equally DELICIOUS! We decided to share the Bahamian Mac & cheese which was so creamy, flavorful, and just AMAZING! We also tried the red velvet fried Oreos w/ vanilla ice cream. This was also very good. The drinks were also on point! I had the watermelon mule and my husband had the strawberry Hennessy lemonade, both great drinks! We sat outside and the view was very nice, the all white decor was very clean and elegant looking. Music was also on point…they were playing gospel when we first arrived and then 90’s-2000 R&B, very chill! Wasn’t overly crowded, which was actually very nice. We arrived for our reservation at 12:30pm and we were seated right away. When we left it was starting to get busier but I liked that it wasn’t crazy crowded when we got there. I attached some pics…we had already started digging into our food because once we tried it, it was so good we couldn’t stop eating it! To speak on the price, yes it was a bit pricey but honestly for a restaurant of this caliber where everything was on point on Miami Beach I would expect nothing less…you get what you pay for and this was well worth the price paid.
This was my first time going, we were seated outside were most tables were spread out nicely. We were Celebrating my sister's birthday, they allow us to bring a cake, (there's a surcharge but I would expect that). Everything was delicious from the cocktails to appetizers to our entrees. We definitely enjoyed the ambience of the place and the music was good, real good. We met the Chef! I'm glad we arrived early, as the late night diners definitely are more lively patrons. Thank you Bar One staff!
Best spot on the beach hands down. Peter really showed out with this location. Everything one could ask for. Great service, great music, outdoor was dope, inside was well decorated and clean. But most importantly the food was smack your momma good. And a huge special shout out to James the manager of the location. Top notch service. 👌
The ambiance is so sexy. This place has style and character, not to mention the presence of the owner. He makes himself visible and available to his customer's. Rather a simple hello or a photo op, Peter was quite the gentleman. I ordered the Oxtail and Dumplings and it was tasty, tender and mouthwatering. I loved it!

The website had hummus with tostones and vegan mac n cheese, but when we arrived I was advised that was no longer on the menu. There were no vegan options at all except for rice and fries which doesn't make a meal. My family ordered Chicken Curry and Oxtails. The was good and oxtails too sweet. They were out of champagne, a cocktail and several menu items on the menu, however service was still great and the atmosphere was pleasant. They have indoor/outdoor seating right on the water and valet parking available. Be ready to spend as it's an expensive restaurant.

I wanted to try this restaurant for a while. I went Friday afternoon. Maybe three tables outside. Our server was sweet. The drinks took time to come out. The food was not worth the listed price. Money is not a problem when the food is fantastic. For the appetizer, we order the jerk wings and the grilled oysters 🦪. My oysters were delicious. My date wings were ehhh. Entree, we order lamb chops and the T-bone steak Oscar-style. Sides: Bahamian mac and cheese, baked potatoes. The food is over seasoned. The lamb didn't taste like a lamb. Certain dishes shouldn't have too much seasoning because most meats have their natural flavor. I am Caribbean, so I know how to season my food, but this was too much. The T-bone taste like the lamb. The mac&cheese was horrible. Dessert: fried Oreos. Plus, the presentation of the dishes was awful. I think they need to evaluate the term Fine dining. The drinks were good. Maybe it was just a bad day. But sometimes less is more. Would I return? Maybe for drinks and light appetizers.
We chose this restaurant one because I love carribean food and 2nd because it's Peter's famous restaurant and he's Carribean. Well I was disappointed to say the least, the Cesar salad was made with iceberg lettuce not a bad of greens or even Romain as they listed, the jerk wings were intolerably hot to the point of not being able to consume, the oxtails and crab cake, were just ok. They also only give you a 2 hour limit at the table, for the prices and hype I expected more, I won't recommend or go back.
This a place for anyone that wants to experience a trendy place. It's expensive and the food is OK. They have so many fees and the parking is terrible ..nonexistent. $20 valet at the condo place next door. I like the outside that allows smoking cigars and hookah. I enjoyed the experience but never have to go back. I went on a Sunday brunch at noon. They don't split checks. Read ALL the rules!
Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff. The drinks were good and strong. The food was good however they were out of chicken on the evening we went(Wednesday) and were out of a certain cut of steak.....oh they were also out of take home bags and from what our server told us they were asked to bring their own plastic bags from home to give to customers(because we rcvd one). My only complaint would be the availability of items, seems like someone messed up on the inventory. I'd still recommend this restaurant.

Not sure where to even start with this place, let me describe the facts: Premium location, by the water. Parking cost $20 to park Popular menu items not available, such as the wings, lamb chops, and other favorites. Food was disappointing at best, lobster bisque tasted out of a can, the oxtail was good, however, the dumplings were hard and not edible, the best dish was the salmon bites. Calamari simply tasted processed and frozen, just missing the quality of ingredients I would expect for the location. It took 3 tries for my husbands old fashion to be done correctly. It's a maybe for me...
This was one of my favorite places to go for a nice upscale dinner, after last night I’m not so sure. I’ve gone multiple times, tried a big portion of the menu and always received good service. I had been craving their “Caribbean grilled lamb chops” so I set up a reservation for 9:15pm Sunday night. Upon entering the indoor dining was closed and we were only allowed outside (I hate eating outdoors - humid, flies, etc). We were assured that there are fans… only to be seated where the fan above us was broken and told no other table was available LOL. Our server took a while to come and didn’t give her name. We asked for sparkling water, received still. The “fresh squeezed lemonade” had about 8 limes in it and full of lime pulp and ice. When trying to order 1/2 of the menu was unavailable. The fried calamari was a bunch of crumbs. Not sure if they had a new/different chef, but NONE of the food was up to par. Especially the lamb chops I was craving so badly. I ordered medium, they came well done along with being dry, no flavor whatsoever, just thrown on the plate with some olive oil and extremely small for $60. (I’ve had them multiple times so I know how they should taste) Waitress did not seem to care, claimed to go speak to the manager, disappeared for and long time and when she came back acts as if she forgot. Manager never came to speak, but ended up offering a discount or to cook it again. Although it should’ve been removed, why charge me for something I did not eat due your inconsistency? It was cooked again and still horrible. Just a complete disappointment overall. My experience at Bar One sad to say I had a very bad experience with the food and the restroom ridiculous 1). The chicken was not done I had to send it back. 2). the oxtails was too salty 3). the bathroom was so nasty and disgusting. 4). Nice music nice vibe I don't think I will go again. I think it's too overrated they have very high prices for the food it wouldn't be so bad if it was good and they gave you more than a toddlers portion. oxtails for $45 you only getting what five bones it's not worth it to me on top of that I saw the Owner and he's very arrogant he act like he really didn't want to speak he spoke in such a low tone and hurry up and turn away he just got out of a cab, so not worth the money that's my opinion
