Small diner with big flavors on all their food!! Was randomly recommend this place tonight in my hotel lobby by a stranger and couldn't be more pleased. He said that he's been going here for about 3 years when he's in town and never had a bad meal. I see how that's possible because it was all great. I ordered the burrito of the week and my wife ordered the weekly special.
We stayed in the airport area and discovered this amazing hidden gem in the walking distance from us. This place is absolutely amazing! Wonderful and hardworking staff, big menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options, coffee and food out of this world! We visited twice in two days. We enjoyed steak and eggs, ham, Cuban bread, tamales, avocado toast was incredible, freshly brewed coffee and cortaditos, freshly squeezed juice (orange and carrot!❤️), grilled shrimp with plantains and salad. Everything was so good! They also sell a wide variety of liquors and cigars. This place was always busy and is clearly loved by locals. We will be back! Gracias!
What a little gem this place is! My travel agent found it for me and I'm so glad she did. It's not much to look at outside, but don't let that fool you-the atmosphere inside and the food are amazing. I had the huevos period with a side of sausage, a cortado, and a mamey shake. Everything was soo fresh and flavorful, and I could taste that it was made with love, as all the best food is known to be. Service was incredibly fast despite them being busy, I watched them turn around the entire place within 30-45 minutes of it being pretty much full. The sausage was probably the best and tastiest sausage I've ever had in my life-fair warning it was fried (not greasy though!) I had never heard of mamey so I had to try it, and my best description is sweet potato apple with a little bit of half-ripe cantaloupe that still has good flavor but isn't too sweet. It reminded me of a melted helado bar in the best way. The fresh squeezed orange juice is made to order on the counter by a fancy juicer, so you get to watch it come out! I was only passing thru the area, but you bet I will definitely be returning here next time I'm visiting Miami. Top notch, and reasonable prices! 😋😋😋
The moment we stepped into this Cafe, I knew we were going to experience something special! We share the chicken sandwich, which was fabulous👌 and a couple of drinks. The staff was friendly and attentive. What more can you ask for?
This is Coast Guard inspectors lunch spot when doing exams on the Miami River. The food is amazing with a great variety of choices. The burger of the month is always my go to. Cool spot that doubles as a liquor store. Parking is difficult at times though due to a small lot with limited spaces. Service has always been great.
Good and simple food. Well seasoned and the pricing was fair. Aldo they have a variety of beers
Well Am I biased cause I've been here while on training for the MD-11F at the Boeing facility?! Naaah the food is great AND the crew is just WONDERFUL. You happened to be around and hungry... well dont hesitate!!
Miami’s Best Hidden Diamond 💎place. This is the very first place I stop when in town. First the staff is wonderful from the ladies talking your orders or the person at the register for the Cold Beer and Liquor and Cigars 😎😝 The Food is top level with one of the Best Cuban and Bistec (steak) Sandwiches you will have while visiting. I have not had a bad meal here through out the years and I have been coming to this establishment for more than 20 years. They have variety Colombian Argentinian empanadas and even the Cuban croquettes are all delicious. The Breakfast special is Fantastic! Eggs house potatoes bacon and Cuban toast amazing! So so many options to choose from top tier burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salads. Make sure to make this your # 1 spot when you arrive to MIA. It’s a short quick 5-10 minute Uber or taxi ride, literally across from the airport runways. Start off right with Great Food Cold Beer & Liquor to make your stay in Miami Spectacular! 😎✈️🏝️
Came here with the goal to buy some wine before a cruise, but did not expect the food to be amazing. Everything is so flavorful, seasoned well and reasonable prices. My whole family was happy.
Food was delicious, big portions, great for lunch.
Truly homemade Cuban experience. Everything so fresh and flavorful. Real Mahi tacos, wonderful shrimp creole. If you want the biggest tastiest burger in town this is the place. A massive beer list too. Don't miss this little gem.
Finally checked this place out and was not disappointed (well, only one thing). Burger was amazing, and unique but tasted great. Wish they had better fries - they were just the run of the mill frozen variety. Add in fresh cut fries and I’d be here more often! Get here early to beat the lunch crowd and parking. Outside seating area was equipped with mister fans, but road traffic is loud even on top on the music. But you’re not coming here for the ambiance. Update: fries are much better now. 5+ stars. Best food and the Blue long island is the BEST ever. They use all top shelf in the Blue Long Island
Great service and prices are on par with everything we've ever bought. There's a great menu including local Cuban cuisine and sandwiches and interesting little cut out sitting. Super charming little spot to grab a drink and plan your trip. The attendant knew we were only allowed to bring wine 🍷 on our cruise tomorrow and was charming as well.
Love this spot! Chicken noodle soup is great! They give you so much food, and the options are plentiful! You'll find yourself, and EVERYTHING is fresh! The sandwich of the month is always something interesting!
Best food I’ve ever had everything is good especially the deserts!
Airport Cafe is a really charming and lively spot for everyone, to eat in or grab a drink at the bar or something to go. I had a perfect Cuban sandwich and a great dessert too. Staff was friendly and prices were fine. Highly Recommended!
This place is awesome! I follow chef Reuben on instagram to see weekly and monthly specials. We attend most of them and every time I’m amazed. The flavors he creates are insane. Service is always on point and it’s a cute liquor store too!
What a find! Recommended by a friend, this little restaurant is pure gold. From their fully-stocked bar/in-house liquor store to their amazing “burger of the month”, you will find something you love here. They have an extensive menu with inexpensive prices on everything, liquor included. Liked it so much for dinner that I came back for lunch the next day!
On every trip to Miami I find my way back to this spot for a solid meal that won’t take long. It’s your quintessential “hole-in-the-wall” joint that’s serves great sandwiches, especially their Cuban. About a mile from the airport entrance/exit, this spot has counter top seating and tables. It doubles as a liquor store as well… the staff are friendly and the food is legit. They also do breakfast as well. Along with the Cuban sandwich (no pics), I ordered myself a fresh squeezed OJ, which was awesome. They did serve it in a styrofoam cup, which is not ideal, but it is what it is. Anyways, if you’re looking for a casual spot for breakfast or lunch near the Miami airport, this place should be on the top of your list.
This place is a hidden gem! Been here for years and you may think it's a liquor store... Which it is... but what makes it unique is the exceptional food. Very high quality meals made to order. Great entrees and yummy sandwiches. The "Media Noche" Is amoung the best of Miami. The Latina Service Girls are always friendly and on point! The-house deserts are also to dies for including the Guava Flan and the Rice Pudding. Have a drink and a great meal all for a moderate price in a very relaxed environment. Easily FIVE STARS!
Wow incredible food. The service was very friendly and loved looking at all the different bottles from around the world.
Beautiful amazing spectacular food. Veronica is best waiter ever, but I’m more concerned over July’s burger of the month not being on the menu permanently. I live 40 minutes away and I come here every weekend for this food.
Very rarely do I give 5 stars, but this place was eclectic and delicious! The burgers are amazing and you would do yourself an injustice of you only ordered a standard burger. The tacos were outstanding and perfectly seasoned. The menu is not fancy...but really well layered with flavor and the atmosphere is different and fun.
Don't let the name of this place fool you - this is a FULL Cuban food menu and the food was excellent. We came in like an hour before closing with 10 people and the staff was all incredibly nice and accommodating. The food was outstanding. Everything everyone got was delicious.
We stop here every time we visit Miami. Its located 6min from the airport. So let me tell you if you don't wanna spend those high price South beach Miami liquor prices this is the spot. However some bottles are even cheaper than your home liquor store prices. Also try the wings and chicken wrap. Thank me later...
This place was such fun to experience! The lady who helped us was patient with all of our questions and gave us excellent recommendations. We tried the fried plantains with garlic dipping sauce and the chicken empanada to start. We enjoyed. The classic Cubano was very good. My Guava BBQ grilled shrimp was absolutely delicious!! I chose fresh veggies and the rice/bean mixture and was delighted by the flavors. I will definitely come back the next time we are in Miami!
Came in town for a cruise and wanted to try the local food. We brought several things on the menu and the Cuban Sandwich was the best! The burger was moist, the empanada were good, probably better with beef over chicken. Season fries were delicious and they monthly special Crunchwrap was huge, enough to share. The empanada are single order so you will need to say the number of how many you want. Don’t waste time order the Cuban.
Been going here for years. We drove thru a tropical storm labor day several years ago 90 miles rt just for lunch. Chef Reuben makes the most consistently unique and inventive combinations. You need to follow him to see the sandwich of the week. This week was these tacos. So tasty with cilantro crema. His burgers will require you to unhinge your jaw like a snake. It's not just size. Well executed, delicious taste profiles. And you can pick up a bottle to go. It is a liquor store. If it wasn't 45 miles away, I'd be 400lb
Delicious food at great prices. I had fried fish, black beans and rice, and plantain chips. Very friendly people working here. The portions were great, too!
Went here for an early dinner. I ordered the cesar chicken wrap and my friend ordered the doctor pepper burger. We got there during happy hour so of course we had to take advantage of that. All beers were $3. We also ordered some croquetas which were tasty and came to us right out of the fryer! My wrap was delicious with plenty of chicken and it had some croutons as well. The burger was juicy and we kind of thought it would be spicy because of the pepper jack cheese, but it was very tasty. All in all the place was not too crowded, we sat outside as some of the tables inside are for 3 or more guests. They do have tables inside for 2 people but they were all taken when we got there. The people there were friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Good place, good people, good food, and cold beers! What can beat that? We will return!
If you’re in the area and want a quick bite, definitely stop by. I had a medianoche sandwich that was SO good. The roast pork was so juicy, not dry like a lot of places. The bread was soft and sweet. The cafe con leche was great too. I would stick to Cuban dishes here for sure. Service was nice and felt home-y.
Accidentally stumbled upon this place tonight. From the outside doesn't look like much but looked really busy inside so I needed to go check it out. Unusual concept, a restaurant and a liquor store but what a find! There is so much to choose from on the menu..... breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, cuban, pasta , vegan. Steak sandwich was cooked to perfection. The bread and toppings were fresh. Staff were phenomenal. And if the Miami-Dade Police are eating there it's probably a good sign. Definitely my new go-to when I have to make an airport run to pick up friends and family and things are delayed. Might even purposely leave early as an excuse to visit again.
I ate lunch here for Valentine’s Day outside and I loved every bit of it. There was music playing, the breeze was nice, and everything was pretty relaxed. I ordered a smoothie made with water, strawberries, guava, and passionfruit, shrimp 🍤 tacos 🌮 (tastes good with cilantro sauce), guava and cheese Tequeños, and Colombian 🇨🇴 empanada 🥟 EVERYTHING TASTE SO GOOD 😊 Omg! I have visit again. Thanks again Airport Cafe!
I am really glad I had the chance to stop by today!! By random chance, I found the instagram account of the Chef Reuben Ruiz - @chefreuben and my stomach had to sample what he can dish out. The location was easy to find with GPS, parking a bit tricky and tight, but I was very thankful they had their own lot. The interior is cozy for a small space, well decorated with funny signs like "Life is short, Eat dessert first". Between watching the staff and ( I think) "The Chew" on tv, it was evident it is a well run ship with the staff members greeting customers promptly, quick service, and speedy "checkout" so you can move on with your day. I ordered the "Jameson Apricot Glazed Cheddar Cheese Burger". The photos I sent to family made them insanely jealous. There is something about a burger when it is crafted with the eating experience in mind that makes a great meal. There was a depth of flavor and texture that was moaning inducing. I look forward to returning and sampling other features of the menu.
I know Elizabeth and Ruben the owners very long time. It's a family business. All customers who go one time, they are hooked and they will come back, five star food ,service.
Fantastic food! The empanadas were delicious and the Mahi sandwich was so flavorful and delicious!!! A hidden gem that you must try. And get the rum cake!!! 🤤
The Airport Cafe is the best kept secret around Miami Airport. Been coming here since they first opened 11 years ago. Everyone I’ve taken here and sent here loves it. I’ve never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend the churrasco. Their Cuban sandwich is loaded with lechon asado made on the premises, and the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff and food that’s never short of delicious. Chef Ruben rocks!
We travel to Florida from Europe twice a year, and without fail, our first stop and our last stop before heading home is always Miami — and the Airport Cafe. Breakfast and lunch here are a must every single time. We love the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and especially the amazing staff. We still talk about this place even after we get back home. On our most recent visit in December 2025, the team surprised us with a bottle of wine and Christmas wishes, which truly made our day. Thank you again, guys! We highly recommend this place to everyone.
Every time we are in town we make our way to this spot. Amazing Cuban food at an unexpected place! Hands down one of the best places to get food in the area. In 2021, we experienced a little hostility in service, but our third visit in 2023, we experienced such hospitality and kindness from our waitress and other servers.
Two weeks in the Doral area and this place took the cake as my favorite restaurant. It’s in a great location next to the airport, but parking gets tight so you might have to get creative and use a neighboring lot. The Cuban sandwich…perfection. The Cuban breakfast…amazing way to start your day. If you’re a coffee lover - I highly recommend you try the traditional café Cubano (cafecito), it‘a guaranteed to keep you awake the rest of the day and it’s delicious.
Was skeptical at first but the food is off the hook amazing. Came here with 8 ppl. Refried beans are best I’ve ever had, the Jameson apricot glazed burger was the best combination on a burger I’ve ever had. Cuban was also best I’ve had. Shredded pork sandwich was the bomb. Pork Empanada. Everyone finished everything and even ordered more. If I lived here this would be my place!!!!!!
An absolute staple every time I come through Miami. The food is wonderful, they have a nice selection of bottled beer, the wait staff is fast, the coffee is strong, and did I mention the food is really good??? Best churrasco out of 4 different restaurants I tried that week! Perfectly cooked! The only things to be aware of is that is can get really busy during lunch and dinner hours, the inside is very small so limited seating (especially for large groups), and there’s no prices on the menu or online. I was never really surprised by the total of my check so I thought the prices were fair but it’s something to note. It’s also a liquor store and they sell lottery tickets too! It’s really a one stop shop for some good grub!
What a gem! If we lived in Miami, we'd be here all the time. We arrived with a group of 4 around 6:15 and got 2 tables to push together. We started with plantain chips and they were crispy and not soft or soggy. A few of us had grilled shrimp, tostones, black beans and a salad - all delicious. The tostones were also cooked just right and were not overly thick or soggy like they can be when not cooked well. One in our group had a burger and fries. The fries were crisp perfection. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bun held up and didn't have juice running down to your elbows. The folks leaving as we got there had chicken milanesa and recommended it. I'm shocked that this placed doesn't have a line out the door and around the block. By the time we left, there were no seats left and the place was full. The staff were all super friendly and seem to enjoy sharing the delicious food. Our bill, including tip and 5 drinks, an appetizer and 4 meals, was $150. It's a quirky little neighborhood bar that serves great food.
Wow que rico!!! Their sandwiches are out of this world, I love the pressed Cuban sandwich or a club sandwich plus their burgers are really good. You won’t go wrong anything on menu is delicious. They are open later than some of the places around here, great to have a yummy snack at end of long night!
One of my favorite spots to goto whenever im near miami airport. The food is absolutely delicious I have never had a bad meal here everything is good and there lemonade one of best I had. The service is very good but place is a bit tight and gets crowded. Highly recommend.
Love this place. Whenever I'm booking a hotel in Miami before or after a cruise, if I can book one that's within walking distance of this gem, that's typically my deciding factor. Excellent food, and some of the best prices you'll find in all of Miami. Also, for you cruisegoers, this is a great place to buy your bottles of wine that you can take onboard.
Great affordable latin food! Went right before the dinner rush and everything went great. Got the pork chunks, empanadas (Columbian/Argentinian), pork rinds and burger of the month. Everything was extremely tasty and we finished everything.
Good food and great coffee... consistently! Small place, but can be welcoming once you get there.
I went in there to get a bottle of wine for my cruise. The lady helped me by picking out a few that matched the description of what I was looking for. The cafe part was cute. I didn't take pictures because there were people dining there.
Small but pleasant place. Seems to specialize in burgers with a bit of a twist. Lots of South American foods. Both food and wine seemed reasonably priced . If staying near airport would go there again. On the wall by my table was a nice review praising the restaurant, fron the Miami Herald.
Lots of choice on the menu. Food is average and reasonably priced. Parking somewhat limited to around eight spaces. Classic push for tips at the end with the machine giving you four options starting from 18%!
Don't visit if you're on a 1hr lunch break. We arrived at 7:09pm, immediately ordered 3 burgers. We left at 7:51pm without eating. We were told 2 times, "your food is coming out next". Then the waitress was mad that we only paid for our drinks and left. Normally, food takes about 30-40 mins to come out. But yesterday was ridiculous.
Great burgers as long as you do not mind a grown man taking pictures up your dress and the staff could have cared less. LIKE I SAID THE WOMEN THAT WORKED THERE DID NOT CARE. Great burger but a nasty place. What a response 😂
I recently visited your restaurant and ordered the Egg Perico, which was listed on the menu for $9.99. However, when I received my bill, I was charged $11.99. I asked the waitress about the price difference, and she told me that the lower price is only valid until 11 AM. I reviewed the menu again and saw no mention of this time-based pricing. I found this misleading and disappointing. Clear pricing is essential, and I don’t feel I was treated with the level of respect or transparency a customer deserves. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests, and I’d appreciate it if you could clarify the correct pricing policy going forward.
Today I had the most horrible experience ordering takeout at this restaurant. I called about 6:30 am to order an omelette sandwich with cheese and bacon. The person who answered the phone ask me if I want it eggs in my sandwich. My immediate thought was that she was thinking of fry eggs and I told her that omelettes were made out of eggs. (By the way this conversation was in Spanish). The moment I said that, she started insulting me over the phone. I thought it could be a language barrier and I asked her if it was better in English. She went crazy with the insults. I drove to the restaurant to speak with a manager and as soon I showed up at the door she asked me in Spanish if that was me on the phone. I told her yes and that I wanted to speak with the manager. She told me she was the one in charge and started to insult me in front of everyone at the restaurant and when I tried to speak to her she claimed I was screaming to her. I turned around and left the restaurant. When I was about to get in a my car a person that witnessed everything in the restaurant stopped me and told me she was horrible like that and that her name is Adriana. He later continued telling me a couple of his stories she had done to other people. It is too bad I will never be coming back to this place. I really like it.
We came in for dinner after seeing all the great reviews it got but we were disappointed by how we got treated. We walked in with well over an hour before closing time. We saw a bunch of people that looked like they worked at the restaurant sitting on their phones outside the restaurant. When we walked inside a lady just looked at us from behind the counter and when we tried to sit down she said that the kitchen is closed. It doesn’t make sense that the kitchen closed over an hour before closing time. Also, we didn’t understand why the lady was rude to us. We really wanted to eat here, guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Ordered a beer, asked if the fan can be turned off since it was blowing fast, cold, lady told me no. When asked about the whereabouts of our order, she went to the kitchen, came back with food with a angry looking face, 4 orders, 3 food.., i decided to wait, when the rest was almost done eating, ive asked for my check, paid my beers and than they came and told me the fish is done. I told them to put the fish back in the ocean. Haha. The staff was sweet except for that old angry looking lady who limps a little. No offence.
Its very expensive and they give you small portions. Everytime I've ordered take-out, I have to come back because the order is missing something.
People said this restaurant serve good Cuban food. This is the second time they messed up my breakfast in the morning every time I order A omelette I order ham and cheese omelette. They put everything in it tomatoes green peppers, red peppers, ham cheese, not only that the prices are incredibly high a side of bacon seven dollars. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Today was the last time I went there
The food and is decent, but when it comes to customer service, there’s absolutely none. The three ladies working at the bar during the day 2 of them act like they own the place—rude, disrespectful, and constantly yelling across the hall restaurant . They even get upset if you simply ask about prices. That’s completely unacceptable. I truly hope the owner sees this and addresses the situation, especially with the lady with black hair who’s been there for a while—she is by far the rudest person I’ve ever encountered.reply and I’m actually glad that you brought that up $24 for a sandwich is outrageous and you guys look I mean life would discuss like poor guy doesn’t have enough to pay $24 for a sandwich now that’s extremely inappropriate. I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what kind of fine dinning you think this is !!! And you’re right I’m never coming back and I’m telling all my travel friends that come through the airport not to even show up there
