I had a fantastic dining experience, and the food was absolutely delicious! However, what truly stood out was our exceptional waiter, Jack L. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome with his warm and friendly demeanor. Jack's attentiveness and professionalism were truly top-notch, making the entire evening unforgettable. His recommendations were spot-on, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to return, and our excitement to see Jack again is through the roof! Highly recommend this place for both the food and the incredible service!

It’s always a 10 out of 10 for us here! The food is delicious and the experience is always fun. My niece had the best time. Our chef David/Craig was so sweet and funny he kept us all laughing the whole time. He made the experience that much better and our waiter was also very nice. I would highly recommend this location and the view is beautiful of the ocean! We also always leave with leftovers for lunch since they serve generous portions.

Shariaka you were an excellent chef. You were very entertaining, friendly and funny. We all loved the food but serve the veg first next time. I love veg but I was full with the rice and meat but I took it home for my lunch yomorrow. Everyone were very friendly and courteous. I would definitely dine here again.

We had such a great time at Benihana thanks to Shereka! She was incredibly nice, attentive, and made the whole experience so much fun. The food was delicious and the atmosphere lively, but her friendly energy really made the night. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I had an absolutely amazing time firstly they changed our times with ease as our schedule had slightly changed. From entering the premises the staff were extremely welcoming. a I celebrated my birthday here and they were so nice they sung happy birthday Im Wnglishand Japanese, our chef Shereka was absolutely outstanding. She gave us top standard entertainment while cooking our food from fresh. You can tell this is a passion of Shereka and it’s amazing to see somebody doing a job that they love. Our waitress Alexis was also so welcoming and kind. She was totally professional with an extra touch and also organised everything for us. Eric, who was not actually our waiter still made sure we was okay in the interim and was so warm and kind to us. To top it off, Belle was such a superb soul to be around. She even took our pictures and printed them off for us instantly which we was not expecting. The food was amazing well cooked and the premises including the WC was clean. (I’m OCD). As an early birthday present, attending this restaurant, I cannot give a higher recommendation to anybody who would like to join the amazing staff here. Many thanks again and kind regards Ieyeasha and daughter

I would recommend this place for a beautiful Sunset view at dinner. Our server, Austin was very attentive and helpful and our drinks were the highlight of the night after the dazzling sunset. I highly recommend the Suntory Toki Old Fashioned. It was beautifully mixed and usually means they have a stable standard choice. The stunningly beautiful seasonal sweet heat Paloma was good, but a bit too sweet and light on the tequila. I'm TERRIBLE about not taking photos of the food before smashing, but I can absolutely recommend the FRIED RICE SUSHI ROLL. ***It's not what you think. I was fully expecting a regular fired tempura roll, but this was "fried rice" with yellowtail and tuna topped with a delicious black pepper sweet sauce. ...again too excited for photos, but I'll update next time. Smashed way too fast. It's a hidden gem at the bottom of the menu. The tofu was fairly good, but probably would have been better directly from the hibachi.

North Shore Library was Blessed to have for lunch Benihana. One of the manager’s Andia is awesome and a Blessing. We loved the service, the food and most of customer service. Attached is just 1 plate that couldn’t wait with sushi, 1 person is plain Jane, another person went all out. More Pictures would be from everyone else’s reviews. From North Shore staff we Thank you and can’t wait to come back. This has always been my go to Benihana over the rest.

I’m writing this review of my experience at Benihana Miami Beach. First, I want to say this is a Benihana that I frequent regularly with friends family, or just by myself. My experience today, at the bar with one of the waiters was less than pleasurable. It was actually a very unpleasurable and disgusting experience. However when I finally got up to go to the service area where they make the food I was able to speak with one of the cooks. Which in turn I was able to speak with a manager her name is Belle. She is amazing. She is absolutely the best manager that has been here at Benihana’s since I’ve been coming. She was able to assist me personally. She was able to get me my food out, hot and fresh and everything was delicious. She even came back over to me at the bar where I had issues to ask me if there was anything else that I needed. I just want to say that I am completely satisfied with the service of the Benihana Miami Beach. Recommend anyone to come to this Benihana, if she is still working here.

This place is a hit or miss with me. Some visits are pleasant and some are unfulfilling. The waiters and cooks sometimes not as welcoming and attentive as they should be. I did notice a change my last visit due to the young lady Natalie going out her way to make sure our experience was satisfactory. Hopefully she can take it back to top tier restaurant I remember.

The service at Benihana was fantastic! Our host was super friendly and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was also amazing, definitely some of the best I've had. Benihana's has a great atmosphere. I'm a regular customer. I come here all the time because I love the vibes and I like having the cook to cook in front of me, and even when I don't feel like it, I go sit out in the bar or the patio and enjoy this scenery and the ocean view. Most people have been to Benihana before, so no need to explain the food. But this location is wonderful because of the amazing scenery and vibes that it has. They also have a staff that is just amazing as the views. The manager Natalie was a perfect host in providing us a table when we wanted it. Jerson, the sushi chef was able to accommodate me with Hamachi jalapeño that is not even on the menu. Wesley, our chef at the table was superb and cooked the food to everyone’s taste. Just the way we wanted it. And lastly Claudia, Our server was even more amazing at Satisfying everyone. A truly amazing evening and would highly recommend this location in all of South Florida.

Cathrine, chef Scotty, chef Craig, chef Shereka, and bartender Reggie are so Amazing. They came to my gym to do a local promo with great enthusiasm. Shereka and Reggie explained the specials and promotions that Benihana offers. The rice was so delicious but the sushi was top tier. On my next visit to Benihana I want them to take care of me. I have experienced quality service like this before I will definitely be back.

I was there for lunch today the food was excellent our waiter was absolutely amazing. But what a horrible experience I had when I left and called and the hostess answered. I told her I left my jacket behind and her response was pick it up today or we will throw it out. Seriously. Everyone has a lost and found but this hostess was down right rude. I went from a great experience outside for lunch over looking the water our waiter was amazing to a horrible after experience from the hostess! Please train her she is horrible!

My dad drove and treated us to Benihana for my birthday on a Monday night (3/3). It's been well over 20 years since I visited a Benihana or any type of hibachi. The last time I went was in Alaska, which was also on my birthday back then. (Can you believe Benihana survived all these years?!?) Anyway, our party included four adults and a toddler (her birthday was a week earlier). We did not have a wait to be seated. We sat around a grill with a couple who was also there celebrating a birthday. As with most restaurants, there was a high chair available upon request, and the toddler was provided with a sheet and crayons to color. I don't remember if the menu had children meals/portions. Key takeaways: - The food was good and plentiful; we all had leftovers. However, when the lobster was cooked, the grill should have been scraped off early since the burned remnants gave the lobster a burnt grill taste. The steak, mushrooms, and onions were all very flavorful, though - Service was good. As always, the cook was quite the entertainer. - The atmosphere was okay, but I don't like how smoky it gets. You leave with your hair and clothes smelling smoky, although the vents suck most of the smoke during the cooking process. After our meals, the staff brought out sorbet with a candle for each of use that were celebrating. The sang to us and made us feel special. Mandatory (free) valet parking (I'm sure the workers get tips, though). As it was a weekday, the restaurant was not crowded, and there were a lot of empty parking spaces. However, the parking lot was blocked off, and drivers were directed to the valet area. Overall, in my experience, Benihana has remained a timeless restaurant, and I recommend it for special occasions.

I have always loved Benihana and the experience that comes with it, the food was definitely really good, I just didn’t like that when I ordered something for myself the chef went and gave everyone on the table the food I ordered and I genuinely wasn’t full .. I ordered a plate that was 45$ and when the food was put on my plate there was like 50% for me and the other half shared equally around the table. I didn’t really understand especially since I said I ordered that for myself, and the rest of the food everyone else ordered didn’t get shared with the table. the food was good but when that happened I was a bit confused. I also loved the green tea ice cream. I will complain that when I ordered a mocktail that was on the menu (alcohol free) it tasted like pure syrup. I was upset. And the waiter had dropped our drinks on the grill on accident before and when she brought back my friends drink it was so rushed and half of the fruits on it were missing. I was disappointed. But overall, other than that, it was a good experience and the food was good.

This place needs prior reservation, if you want a show on the griddle, but you can still ask for a regular table. The drinks in my experience were not the best. The food was very good. To share with the family it is a nice experience and the restaurant has a very nice sea view.

Nice atmosphere. Very busy as I assumed it being father's day and a Sunday. Good food. Pretty much the same hibachi I could get at a local restaurant in my home town. Paying for the experience though right. Waiter was very robotic and a quiet talker which was a little difficulty in a loud busy environment.

Great experience at this Benihana location. Very clean, and the service and food was excellent! Our bartender/waitress was AWESOME, our drinks were definitely made with love! Our server who was also our bartender was vibrant and made great recommendations, and she made excellent drinks! Will definitely be back.

The food was great. The atmosphere is nice. But check your bill before you pay! I ordered a combo that had filet mignon and colossal shrimp. But when the chef was reading the orders to the table, he only mentioned the filet for mine. I said to him my choice included shrimp. So he went back to the kitchen and brought out some shrimp, a couple large ones and a couple medium ones. When I looked at my bill, there was a $13.50 add-on for 10pcs of shrimp 🙄 The entrée I ordered also came with fried rice. But I was sharing the meal with my wife because this was a late meal. The chef said something about "do you want the rice split for each of you?" I said Yes. The serving of rice with these meals come with is ample. So if it was split between my wife and I, that would be great. Then we get served a full portion each, that also had grilled chicken in it - and charged accordingly with a "2 @ $7.50 - $15.00" add-on to my bill. I never once asked for chicken fried rice.

“Your yumyum sauce bowls sat empty. The best part of the meal—vanished before we even started!” Let’s start with the good stuff: If you’re looking for dinner with a view, Benihana North Bay Village has the location locked down. Waterfront seating, twinkling lights, and that breeze? Chef’s kiss. Now let’s talk about the food and experience—because while the views were five-star, the night came with a few hiccups (and I’m not just talking about the sizzle of the hibachi grill). We were a party of three and we all ordered the Deluxe Treat—filet mignon and a cold water lobster tail grilled with lemon. The filet? Incredibly tender and flavorful, but a touch too salty—like the chef might’ve had a breakup earlier that day and took it out on the seasoning. The lobster was nicely prepared , though I would’ve loved a bit more of that lemon to brighten it up. The fried rice was… fried rice. Not bad, not memorable. It did its job, but let’s just say it won’t be getting its own fan club anytime soon. Now, let’s talk about the real tragedy of the evening: Your yumyum sauce bowls sat empty. The best part of the meal—vanished before we even started! That sauce is practically a love language, and ours was missing in action. Not a drop to be found. It was like going to Disney and discovering Mickey took the night off. The service left a bit to be desired. We waited about 30 minutes for our table despite a reservation, and when we were seated at the hibachi table, it felt more “grab-and-go” than “dinner and a show.” Our drinks sat empty for a while, and the overall vibe from the staff was more “meh” than “welcome!”—a strange energy for a place that literally sets food on fire for fun. That said, the chef at our table was fun—classic tricks, a few jokes, and managed to entertain even when the service felt rushed. Overall? It’s a solid 3 stars for the ambiance and the filet alone. But next time, I’ll be calling ahead to reserve my yumyum sauce like it’s a VIP guest. Not rushing back—but if I do, I’ll bring my own sauce and a water pitcher. “Food that feeds the soul, beauty that speaks volumes, and travel that tells a story — always through the eyes of Italy Loves India.” Alyson Savino

Being a client for so long of this place, it was a surprise for me that the food was that bad, including the presentation and the service. Soup did not have any flavor, no salt at all, also cold. (We did not have a chef cooking in front of us, we sat at the entrance in a small table, our food was brought by the waitress). "The soup is like that" was the answer from the waitress.

The server, Andrea and chef (pictured) were great. The prices are outrageously high, even for Key West. Two adults, 2 kids, $200.00. The food was cooked well.

Reservations made, chef was okay but mumbling, appeared to be new, not a show man. The bathroom floors were dangerously slippery. Food was tasty. They offered 4 different options of ice cream on the menu, I wanted to try green tea but they only had chocolate or vanilla. Server was nice, helpful , but the front desk and additional staff dressed in all black had poor customer service. They were welcoming at the beginning then would stand at the front in a group and just stare our table down the WHOLE dining experience. Very awkward. They were also passive aggressive in rushing us out with no communication, but sending the person to clean the table while we still had our drinks. Server said no rush, but the other staff had other ideas. The man was literally cleaning under our drinks very pushy but they sent him to do that. Did not feel like a valued customer and will not return or recommend. Unnecessary, forced valet parking too.

Walked in wasn’t greeted properly hostess asked right away dine in or take out. I answer dine in she asked if I have a reservation I stated no she instantly told me an hour wait. Check the website it’s a reservation available at 515pm. It was currently 504 so I booked while standing in her face. I then advice her I have a reservation for 515 will the wait still be an hour she stated maybe I said with a reservation she laugh. I didn’t notice the joke so I told her I’ll wait at the bar. Proceeded to the bar say down 10 minutes later she said the table is ok cool. Headed to my table welcome very well by Ericka

Last evening, we went to Benihana to use our $30 birthday dinner coupon that we receive every year from them for our birthdays. The coupons are good for approx 3 weeks or so. We chose the Teppanyaki experience as always. Since we hadn't been there in a year, we were surprised that as we entered the parking lot, there was a big sign stating Mandatory Valet Parking. This was something new. Ok, times are tough. When we entered the place, there were 3 young ladies/employees/hostesses chatting and laughing at their cellphones. We waited for them to finish their business so we could give them our names. We also noticed that the place was pretty empty with maybe 10 people in the dining area and lots of empty tables. Nevertheless, we were shown over to the left area by the bar to sit for 25 minutes until we were escorted to one of the cooking tables. No one asked if we would like water or a drink while we waited. Eventually, we were shown to our table. My daughter and I ordered the Deluxe Treat, which is a Filet Mignon and Lobster, Veggies, Shrimp, salad, miso soup, and a dessert. Fried rice was extra for a small bowl at $12. There were 6 other people who were also celebrating birthdays. We met the nicest mother and daughter, who sat next to us and had a very enjoyable conversation with them. Everyone at our table was friendly. Our server was Carla, who stood in front of the table and asked if there were any birthday people, so several of us raised our hands. She wrote down the number and then asked each of us for our orders. However, she didn't ask for our birthday coupons to begin with. So at the end of the evening, when it was time to hand out the bill, a guest handed her the coupon, and Carla got a little upset and rolled her eyes because she needed to redo the bills from all of us birthday people. She was supposed to ask for the coupon at the beginning of the order. In the past years, the chefs at the Teppanyaki table performed tricks with their cooking tools, salt and pepper shakers, hat-tricks, and formed the food into various shapes. It was a big part of the Benihana attraction. But last night, everyone at the table was very disappointed that our chef did not perform any tricks or shout outs or whistles. He did slam his spatula on the stove to get our attention and made a very tiny volcano out of an onion that sputtered for a second and died out. That was it. However, he is a good cook, was nice and made a delicious meal for us! The service there is pretty weak. No one cleared our dirty dishes until at the end when we asked them to. The guests had to stack up their own dishes and glasses and push them to the sides because no one checked on us. We all had to ask for more water because everyone's glasses were empty. Our table area was left dirty with rice and sauces spilled. I have a photo of it posted. I'm very surprised about the lack of service. The place was not full, but a lot of employees were standing against the walls watching the rest of us eat. I don't know what that was about. We have noticed this type of service for several years, and that's why we only go once a year. I hope management takes notice.

Personally I don't see what the hype is about. Was it good , it was ok. I wouldn't call my mother and tell her about it in fact I didn't. To me it's just way overpriced I wouldn't say that the food was bad I wouldn't say that the service was bad because it wasn't bad it just wasn't worth it! We waited I don't know an hour if not more just to get food at our table and I'm not even talking about dinner. I didn't even get anything to drink. The waiter brought drinks for everybody else didn't even bother to ask me and didn't even bother to bring me water. So he had to go make a special trip for that and that took 20 minutes. The food was brought out individually in other words one person at a time and one had to be sent back in fact that one was given to us and placed as a to-go order it was that bad. So overall the dinner was okay as far as the food goes I ate mine but I certainly would not go there if I was not invited. I just think it's way too expensive way too hyped and if it were a say down under or out back or Chili's and had those kind of menu prices yeah I'd say by all means bring the family it's good fun it looked like everybody was having a good time. But $400 for dinner! Not my cup of tea. And the service holy crap the guy didn't even know where we were I asked him what bay we were on he couldn't tell me I mean we were literally on the most famous bay in Miami. I'm sure benihana paid a lot for that view and the guy didn't even know where we were. That's pretty bad anyways I'm not going to give him a horrible review if that's my way it comes out I'm sorry that's not it the restaurant was fine I mean I saw the liquor selection it just seemed like regular liquor I didn't see anything impressive you could buy it at any liquor store but it was well lit up I'll give them credit. I think it's an overpriced panda Express

I've been to a few Benihanas over the years and this one is a bit different (problematic). Nice view of the water, but not enough parking for how big the place is and be prepared to wait a while for everything. Usually fried rice is standard but this one charges $6.50 extra ($7.50 for chicken fried rice) or you just get steamed rice!? Also the mushrooms were kinda bad, but the rest of the food was ok.

Arrived at this place for lunch at 1:07p and our cook did not arrive to our table until 2:23p. No one bothered to let us know what was taking so long. I give the service a 2/5. The food on the other had was excellent!! Our chef didn't look like he was in a mood to entertain but his cooking skills were definitely on point! So was it worth the wait you may ask...no. Do I reccomend the food?...YES! Just come prepared to wait a REALLY long time.

Had a dinner reservation for 7pm and we didn't get service until past 9pm, we kept on hearing the cook is coming one times too many and our party had 2 kids. I'm an adult and I was fuming after 2hrs of wait but I remained calm until the 3hr mark hit I got up and went over to the waitress and asked to speak to the manager immediately informing him that 3hrs wait is absolutely ridiculous, that I have kids that haven't had dinner and had an early lunch and he needed to send over something to the table ASAP!!he sent over dumplings and juice for them and eventually the cook arrived and did his thing but this place is a zoo. Do not make reservations for 7pm because that seems to be their peak hours or just go someplace else. Too much competition in Miami to be waiting 3hrs for mediocre rice🤨

The chef was great and the hibachi was good. However the soup was not warm...the dishes that we ordered included green tea but it was never offered. I asked for ice cream and they only had one flavor and they charged $6.50 when previously was included. We waited close to an hour for the chef to start cooking.

Worst service i had in awhile. Had reservations at 8pm. Didn't get seated for an hour and half.(After complaining)While waiting and seeing a spot available, they set us at the same table that was available the whole time we were waiting at the bar. Only got seated because we (complained). Sat down and another 30 mins roll by, still know chef. Chef finally came and apologized and one couple at our table left. Going on 2hrs and 30 mins with Reservations? We asked to speak to the manager about it. We wasnt upset until she started questioning us and saying it like it was our fault. She said we'll was all your party here? We replied yes...She said well you wasnt on time? We replied yes we wasss....she said well when I looked in the computer it showed walk in. I said I have the reservation number and gave it to the host at the door I didn't even deal with you!!!! She said ok I'll see what I can do. But never came back and told us what she did or apologized. We get up to leave. And out comes our waitress with the bill. They took off 30 dollars. I paid my $200 dollar bill. Tip the chef $50 and the valet person $50 & told them it's not your fault your management sucks and didn't take accountability for being unprofessional and kind. If you every in ohio Hit me up and Make sure yall good because we own a bar. Whoever our waitress was and manager was. I wish I could and negative rating.

Went here with my wife on Wednesday early evening. Not busy at all. Actually was almost empty. First time here. At the entrance thought that we walked in at a Liquor Store. Every corner and spot was filled and stocked with alcohol product to the ceiling. So perhaps the description online of what is this restaurant about should be changed. Decided to have seating outside. View of water created the atmosphere. Food was good. Green tea was superb. We ordered ocean Treasure with Lobster tail, Hibachi Scallops and some appetizers. Miso soup was good with plenty of body and sea weed. Salad was OK. Wasn't counting the time as we were just enjoying conversation but felt like lots of time has passed between appetizers and main course. Maybe 20 mins, maybe more. I was ready to go and check on what's taking so long since restaurant wasn't busy at all when our waitress was back. I jokingly asked if she forgot about us. No she said with absolutely no other comments. At the end of the meal she had audacity to specifically mention to "please leave a tip".. I guess she was concerned in reference to my comment. To managers.. train your employees to at least pretend to show that they care about customer's experience. Your pricing is above average and while in this location its not considered overpriced it is up there. I don't mind paying for the view, but service and attention needs to be better. We left 20% tip. I know waiters rely completely on tips, but will not be returning here or recommend. You don't need to ask for a tip if you doing a great job. I can only imagine how it operates when they are busy.

Very Disappointing Start, but Excellent Recovery by Chef Wesley We’ve been long-time customers at this location, which is why this experience was so surprising and disappointing. We arrived in great spirits, looking forward to enjoying dinner by the water. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly with the valet, who had an unfriendly and dismissive attitude. It immediately made us feel unwelcome. We had reserved outdoor seating specifically to enjoy the waterfront view. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t sit outside because our entrées would come out one at a time, 20 minutes apart. While that was confusing, we accepted indoor seating without complaint. What was frustrating, however, was that another group who arrived after us was seated before us. When we asked about it, we were told we were “next.” After waiting even longer in a restaurant that wasn’t busy at all we had to follow up again. Eventually, we were seated in a private room. While that area is typically fine, we came specifically for the view. When we asked if we could be moved to a table with a view, we were told no. Overall, the service initially felt unfair and inhospitable, which was disappointing as loyal customers. We’ve had much better service at the Pembroke location. That said, I do want to highlight something positive. Even though the initial experience was rough, our chef Wesley was more than accommodating. He was engaging, warm, attentive to our concerns, and proactively made the moment right for us. His professionalism and hospitality truly turned the evening around. We would definitely recommend him.

Today I went to pick up a meal at that restaurant and the girl who serves, a fair-skinned woman with a somewhat damaged face, had a terrible attitude towards the people who were there to pick me up. She almost threw my bag at me. I think restaurants should be more attentive to the staff they have in their establishment since it is a food place.

Staff was pretty rude.We had a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes just to get seated. Then waited over 45 minutes and not a single person came by, not a glass of water . When talked to the host instead of take action and help she acted like no big deal, we left. The lack of professionalism is astounding.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The food arrived late and was already a bit cold, which really affected the overall quality. The service was poor and the staff did not seem particularly friendly or attentive. Parking was also inconvenient and added unnecessary frustration to the visit. Overall, the food was not as good as expected, especially considering the reputation of the restaurant. Sadly, this was not a pleasant experience.

The 4 stars it’s for the server name Melisa. Food was great but could enjoy the first time being here. There’s was a lot of smoke and I couldn’t breathe. We had to go outside to eat. I had asked the manager if the exhaust was working and he said yes. But the big blower they had was blowing smoke everywhere.

I had my birthday party yesterday at Benihana Miami beach . It was a desaster in term of timing and disappointing on food, more than 3 hours to eat there . The cook did its best but had to cook for 2 tables at same time so had difficulties to maintain proper cooking time , shrimps a bit burn and beef medium instead of medium rear. He had to call waiter to get the food to cook in time .The manager seems without control did not explain what happened, he gave a discount to soften our dissatisfaction but did not save our party. In addition the waitress was pushing us to particular tip in agressive way. It was myfirst bad experience at Benihana but i am very reluctant to go back to this restaurant in Miami.

I’m so glad I went to this Benihana. Now I can confidently tell people where the worst Benihana in the world is located. Slowest seating although the place was empty during lunch hours. Waited 15+ minutes before getting menus. Another 10 minutes or so before we could place the order. Waited 20+ minutes for the food and had no utensils. After waiting for at least 5 minutes walked to the host and asked for utensils. 15 minutes later I had to ask again. The food was not even seasoned properly. Had to basically beg for the bill to pay and leave. 10 minutes later or so, we were able to pay and leave. I love Benihana, so I was surprised how terrible this one was. I highly recommend NOT GOING to this one. I can’t even begin to imagine how it would have been if it was a busy day. We opted to not do the Hibachi so we could be quick in and out. Clearly, this one is not setup for normal table service. It was like they forgot we existed.

M
Mel Prear

I sat outside and asked for the fans to be turned on at least 5 times, they never did it. It took the server 15 min to show up at my table. When he did take my order, he didn’t ask me for any details. He looked high as hell; not sure he even knew he was at work. The service is slower than a melting glacier. I saw people who arrived almost 30 min before me and didn’t get their food until 30 min after I arrived. It took 1.5 hours to get my food!!! The place was EMPTY on a Thursday at ~2pm. I didn’t get any sauces, the “vegetables” that are part of the hibachi are just onions. The manager of whoever doesn’t call the attention of people who let their kids be nuisance, run around open flames, open doors and stand under it. I don’t have high expectations for a place like this but I’d probably choose McDonald’s instead of enduring this agony and then being asked to tip 20%!!!

For a restaurant that didn’t seem super busy on a Saturday night it took a very long time to receive our entrees and even when we received the proteins it took another quite a bit of time to receive the side of rice. The food itself tasted really good but the portions seems very small for the price and they didn’t even have actual silverware clean so they gave us the to-go plastic ware.

The food took forever more than 1 hr and I ended up getting half a burrito. Spent more on 1 beer than my food. Absolutely ridiculous

This the worse customer service in miami. I booked a reservation at 8pm for my family to celebrate my son graduation. We were told to wait in the waiting area. The host forgot about us and didn’t notify us about the table. 40 minutes later we were told that they find a table for us. Only reason l stayed with my family it was because of son graduation. This is my last time. Good luck

This is for the miami location..... We had a 9:00 PM reservation and arrived at 8:53 PM. As soon as we got there, the host walked away without acknowledging us. Another staff member eventually checked us in and told us to sit near the takeout area. Unfortunately, that area was completely dirty there was food on the floor and the table behind us hadn’t been cleaned. To make matters worse, the same person who told us to wait started eating while standing there talking with other employees instead of helping guests. We waited for 30 minutes without anyone coming over to greet us, take an order, or update us on our table. At that point, we decided to leave. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience — poor service, unclean environment, and lack of professionalism. Definitely not what we expected with a reservation.

We had an extremely disappointing experience at Benihana and will not be returning. We came as a family of five with three small children (ages 4, 5, and 6) and were seated at 5:00 PM at a shared hibachi table with three other guests. Knowing our kids were hungry, we ordered immediately. We ordered chicken nuggets for the kids—the only item on the menu that is prepared in the kitchen rather than in front of you—along with three hibachi dishes cooked tableside. By 6:15 PM, our kids still had not received their chicken nuggets. Meanwhile, the chef took an excessive amount of time preparing the hibachi dishes, moving very slowly and delaying the cooking process. It was obvious the kids were hungry, yet their food was left for last despite repeated requests. I asked multiple times about the nuggets and was repeatedly told that “the kitchen is busy.” It wasn’t until I finally raised my voice and spoke to a manager that the food arrived. When it did, the nuggets were dry, overcooked, and tasted terrible. Between the long wait, lack of urgency, poor communication, and low food quality, the entire experience was stressful and frustrating—especially with young children. This was far from the enjoyable family experience Benihana is supposed to be. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back.

I ordered through ubereats and though I didn’t expect a 5 star meal, what I got was offensive. I ordered a side salad not a bowl of lettuce with one tomato (which was actually delicious). The habachi chicken meal was old and not freshly cooked. I love habachi and I expected more.

We had a reservation for 6:30 and we were not dat until 7:45 and food didn't begin to get cooked until 8:30. Truly just a poor experience the food was good and what you expect for benihana, the chefs personality was beyond great these people do magic and can tell and are extremely understaffed and all overworked.

I would give zero stars if I could. First, they couldn't find our reservation. Then, after finally seating us, it took about minutes just to take our drink order and another 45 minutes for the food order, which still hasn't arrived. We got here at 7:10 PM, and it's now 9:58 PM — and we're still waiting. This is all due to poor management — the servers did the best they could with what they had. Why are we still here, you may ask? The company is footing the bill. P.S. Eduardo and West did a great job despite the circumstances.

Went on a quiet Wednesday around 8 PM with no reservation. We sat outside and waited over 15 minutes for our bartender to greet us. Soup and salad came out cold and soggy. After 45+ minutes, our food arrived cold, incomplete, and with the wrong rice. ( I ordered shrimp with veggies and chicken fried rice, and my friend ordered shrimp and steak well done) . When I requested a manager, the Haitian lady told me she would send a fresh, hot replacement. The “fresh” replacement was the same food but overcooked. Later, we found out our server and others were sent home without anyone telling us. That’s why the Service was poor, the food was cold, and overall disappointing. I won’t be back. Here is a photo of how many rice dishes we had because they kept bringing cold ones out.

We made a New Year’s Eve dinner reservation for 10 people. They only had 3 chefs for more than 6 tables, and everyone had to wait until a chef became available. We spent 3 hours there and almost missed the fireworks. And honestly, that was the least bad part. We placed our food order and the rice never arrived. We had to eat the meat by itself, and after asking multiple times, they finally told us they had run out of rice🤯 (keep in mind the dishes cost between $45 and $65). I didn’t think running out of rice at an Asian restaurant was possible, an even less in such an expensive one!!! The chef did his best to prepare each dish, but the system that allows every customer to choose a different protein makes it extremely difficult to manage, and some people ended up with incomplete plates. Overall, it was a TERRIBLE experience, and they only offered us a $50 discount ($5 per person???) after we were forced to eat our food with no sides at all.

The Manager (she didn’t mention her name, short Hispanic lady with curly hair) has a really bad I don’t care type of attitude…. Yikes. Ordered food to go on for my husband and I are the portion size was ridiculously downsized. 2 tiny containers for $100… absolutely laughable… and to add to that they even got my order wrong so then I had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to correct their mistake and nothing was offered for the inconvenience not even a simple apology. Definitely will not be ordering food to go from here ever again. They skimp out on portions when you order to go. The customer service was garbage. Well done and happy new years I guess! -10/10 don’t waste your time or energy here no one cares.

We waited for over an hour for our chef to come out. They booked several tables KNOWING they had a shortage of chefs. We spoke to the manager and he shrugged his shoulders, basically said "it is what it is" and walked off. The chef ruined my expensive wagyu steak by dumping a ton of salt on it. I told him and he said "I got you". He didn't saute the mushrooms with the meat so I ended up eating our meat and we got the mushrooms last. So now I have a giant pile of mushrooms... The veggies were cooked last so there's also a pile of onions. We never got a green tea we paid for. The ONLY thing that was good was the soda. This place SUCKS and management doesn't give a single crap. DON'T waste your money here

Very disappointing. We use to go to Benihana weekly, about 10 years ago and decided to return after missing their delicious rolls. First very annoyed that they only offer VALET parking - there is no self park option. We had made a reservation for any table except Teppanyaki - the misguided hostess offered us a Teppanyaki table. Much of the atmosphere has a very cafeteria feeling as we were seated by the parking lot windows. When the waitress appeared we asked for the more extensive sushi roll menu - she was confused, clueless and pointed to the few choices on the main menu. We had to read her the menu which indicated there was a separate roll menu. The main menu was very expensive and we weren't in the mood for expensive steak - we wanted rolls. We put in our drink orders (we are obviously over 60 years!) and were asked to show ID. That was the last straw - out the door we went, across the street to Sushi Siam and had a delicious meal for less than a Benihana steak! We won't be back to Benihana!

The only thing good about this place is the atmosphere. The manager Joseph tried to cover up a piece of hair in our food by saying it was ginger and that only black chefs worked in the kitchen. I spent well over 90& on my food and the fact that he insulted our intelligence was bizarre. Not only did they serve hair, but the food was cold when delivered. The server was kind and did a great job! Joseph need training because he came to the table with no knowledge or sense of awareness of what was going on in his establishment.

I understand it was Valentine’s Day and restaurants are busy, but our experience at Benihana - Miami Beach was terrible from start to finish. It began with parking. Their lot was full and valet told us to park across the street in a private property with towing signs posted. They assured us it was fine, but it was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Check-in was a mess. We waited over 30 minutes in a disorganized line with no staff managing it and people constantly cutting. Once seated outside (as per our reservation), we waited another 30 minutes before anyone took our order. I ordered a margarita and my boyfriend a Diet Coke, and we placed our food order immediately. Fifteen minutes later, only the Coke and one water arrived. Then we waited an entire hour with no updates and no margarita. Eventually, soup and salad came, but we were freezing. We were seated in a very windy corner, while four empty tables in the back sat dirty and unused for over an hour. When we asked to move, we were told they were “reserved,” which made no sense since no one had touched them. After another 30 minutes with no food, we were told they didn’t know how long it would take because they were too busy. By then, it was 11:30pm and we had wasted over two hours. We paid only for the margarita and left. Our Valentine’s dinner ended at McDonald’s. Busy or not, poor organization and lack of communication are unacceptable. We won’t be returning.

Such a sad and bad experience for my daughter’s birthday. We had a 8:00 pm reservation and when we arrived the table was there, but NO CHEF to cook for us. We waited 2 HOURS for the chef to arrive after asking for the supervisor I was told that she was busy preparing the food in the back. When I asked for explanation they told us on Mondays is ALWAYS THE SAME ! I felt really no one had ownership to run the place. So after 2 hours SHEREKA the chef arrived, and I must say, she made an amazing job both in attitude and in food cooking. She was really charm to my bday girl which I highly thank her after such a bad experience. At the end I was granted with a discount which I thank, but we all had a hard time and then more people coming to make more complaints. It’s defently a management problem and ownership on the employees.

Subject Formal Complaint and Request for Resolution – Benihana North Bay Village (April 22, 2025) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally document and escalate an unresolved issue stemming from my 48th birthday gathering at Benihana in North Bay Village on April 22, 2025. On that evening, my family and I experienced treatment that was both disrespectful and racially inappropriate from servers and members of management. This was particularly upsetting given that the occasion was a milestone birthday celebration shared with my twin sister—something we have celebrated together every year for the past 15 years. A total of 54 guests attended that evening. Following the incident, I contacted Benihana Corporate and spoke with the then–general manager, Joe. Joe acknowledged the situation and took responsibility, assuring me that Benihana would allow my family to return to properly celebrate my birthday at a later date. Based on that assurance, I believed the matter was being handled appropriately. When I followed up, I was informed that Joe was no longer with the company. I then spoke with a manager named Marlon, who stated he could not honor Joe’s commitment. However, Marlon assured me that Benihana would provide gift certificates for complimentary meals for my wife and me as a gesture of goodwill and accountability. Nearly eight to nine months have now passed, and I have received nothing. Marlon has stopped responding to my calls and text messages entirely. At one point, he directed me to contact someone named Raul, who was supposedly taking over the North Bay Village location. Despite repeated attempts, I have never been able to speak with Raul, and no one returns my calls. I have been consistently given the runaround. My family and I have been loyal Benihana patrons for many years—not just for birthdays, but year-round—because we genuinely enjoy the food and the experience. That is why this situation is especially disappointing. What occurred on my birthday was not only hurtful, but the lack of follow-through afterward shows a complete absence of accountability. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I am asking that Benihana honor what was promised, acknowledge the misconduct that occurred, and take responsibility for how this matter has been handled since April 2025. Customer loyalty should be met with respect, integrity, and follow-through. I respectfully request a response from corporate management to resolve this issue promptly. I can be reached at your convenience. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, Mr. KD JOHNSON

horrible service, i went there a few weeks ago with my friends and sat outside in the patio for happy hour. i was expecting a quick meal since we had only gotten their expertise food which was 2 fried rice and two other appetizers. we got our two appetizers and we were still waiting on the fried rice, so we ordered 2 more appetizers, they came out and again we were waiting on the fried rice, so we are trying to find our servers mind you, she would never come we’d have to find her, we didn’t get our waters until like 10-15 mins after sitting down even tho it wasn’t busy at all. so anyways we find our server and we ask how much longer on the fried rice, she said a couple more minutes, while it had already been 30 mins, then another 20 mins to by, we’re still waiting by this time we had asked the server like 3 times how long on the fried rice while 50 mins had passed. then after the 1 hour mark hit my friend goes outside to talk to someone about my fried rice because the server was nowhere to be found, turns out 5 mins later after we complained to someone about it we got our fried rice. after an hour. it was the most mediocre food ever for the amount of time we had to wait, nothing was taken off our checks, which i’m not expecting it to but after a horrible experience we didn’t even get the food that we were waiting an hour for off. horrible service i hope you guys do better next time because it wasn’t busy
