Excellent arepas and soup! So glad I stumbled upon this gem! Arepas were packed with meat and the soup was amazing!

This is a 100% authentic Venezuelan food: arepas, empanadas, cachitos, cachapas y hasta perros calientes Venezuelan style. The service is quick and very friendly (also Venezuelan style). I tested a cachitos de jamón and I went back about 30 years in memory. Very nice and humble place.

Food is always amazing. Chachapas, arepa con Carne mechada or arepa reina pepiada is amazing, can't go wrong with the Patacon. The empanadas are a family favorite !!

Having lived in Venezuela in 1990's, I fell in love with stuffed arepas & Venezuelan food in general. El Arepazo is THE reference for the Venezuelan community and deserves its notoriety. Food is delicious, served fast, clean place, parking is fine. Slightly over-priced, but hey, we are in Miami, not Maracaibo...

The service was really really good and the food was fresh and delicious. The parking is the problem. This location is inside a gas station and gets busy with cars in and out

I had to pull up a Thanksgiving breakfast for my office in less than 48h. This place saved my life. Not only the food was good (somebody else told me about this place) but the service. Alexis was so nice, so careful and kind that I cannot express how thankful I was. He made everything easy! So for sure I’ll be calling them again

I was watching a news reporter from Univision reporting on a Venezuelan topic in front of this restaurant and I then wanted to try it. I went on a Wednesday night. It was not crowded but not empty either. The staff was friendly and helped us choose some food and drink items. Everything was tasty. This is a casual and easy place to eat.

good place, good service. not as good as my mom's arepas.. but hey my mom makes the best ones. Lots of options for meat eaters and veggie ppl. hot sauce and garlic sauce were real tasty too. Overall, good dining experience, I'll be back here for some more stuff.

I can't say anything bad about this amazing restaurant! The staff are amazing, they treat you like family. The food is great and it's not a long wait at all! Have been coming here forever so this restaurant deserves this rating

I give 5 start because the moment I step in at that place they treat me like a princes, friendly, good service, fast and because they make good soups and great coffee. I do not like the decoration but Hey! this is in gas station I wont ask for anything fancy.

Omg, Delicious! I was starving & I was referred by a nearby customer. Don't get deceived by the gas station in front, this place is cheerful & pretty decent The Manager is super sweet & even prepared my patacon himself! ! :) highlyrics recommend for healthy fast food!

A gas station with Venezuelan food and goodies. You can buy cheese and other Venezuelan souvenirs. They have Venezuelan candy chocolate and anything you can think venezuelan. It has access for wheelchairs. It is a family place. Fast service except during peak times but worth waiting. They have restrooms and the staff is super nice

El arepazo is an authentic I repeat AUTHENTIC Venezuelan cuisine spot. Everything from breakfast lunch and dinner with a wide variety of dishes. For my day pass to and bananas to rice beans pork beef natural juices you name it they got it. The menu is very lengthy over 50 different items I honestly think about a hundred items to be honest. Only thing is that it is a little bit on the price your side of things but still affordable. A meal for three people and natural juices will easily run you about $30.

J
Juan Mendoza

The best place for an arepa. Just a bit pricey.

El Arepazo Doral is a delicious find the arepas are flavorful, generous, and remind me of authentic Venezuelan comfort food. I love how close it is to FIU, which makes it a perfect stop for a quick, hearty meal after class or work. Friendly service and great value too. I’ll definitely be back!

Authentic Venezuelan spot which offers traditional Venezuelan dishes. Today I had a pabellon and a tres leches everything was really good, the meat had that characteristic taste that differentiates our dish from the rest. The tres leches was also very good tasted like if it was home made. Overall great place to eat since the prices are also decent. Keep up the good work!

One of a few Venezuelan places I’ve eaten at in Doral. The first time I went during the day the younger ladies working were very friendly. The tequenos were very good. My friends liked the pabellon criollo as well. Everything was well seasoned. I went again at night and the service was sub-par. Mainly the older woman working the register being rude , but whatever.

M
Melida Sanchez

Food was good, the empanadas in the glass were stale. We ordered fresh empanadas which were great. Server was unhappy to be working there and it showed in her attitude.

E

The food Is great. Service is a bit lacking, hence the four stars. Place is a bit dated, but if you are there for the food, you won't be disappointed

F

This place had a great variety of food. Their menu takes up 2 walls. But great choices!!!! This is Venezuelan restaurant so be prepared to feel the political atmosphere here. If want to sit down and relax I won't recommend the place. From my 2 times eating here, you have TVs playing local news from Venezuela. Obviously, the state of the country is not the best right now so be ready to consume everything while eating. I feel like your not relaxed eating here. But the food once again AMAZING!!!

C
Cira

Fast pizza, not the best but acceptable. The pretzel crust one is one of the best items on the seasonal menu. But it satisfies, it's easy on the pocket and if you have a kid's party, or a teen-sleepover, it's the best solution to feeding the masses.

L

We bought some typical Colombian cheese to bring at home and an orange juice. We liked them. The restaurant inside is not so nice.

E
EDGARDO GARRIDO

Food is good, to my criteria a little more expensive than other places. The place is clean and never crowded unless they have a meeting against the Dictator from our country Venezuela! El arepazo is like Cafe Versailles to Cubans...

Got shredded beef and tastes amazing. The sweet plantains were a bit overcooked. The black beans were good too. The gentleman that took my order was very nice.

They staff was friendly and the food descent. But cachapa missing a bit of grated chesse and sauce on top.... taste was good still.

It is not easy to find a good Venezuelan restaurant in Florida with true Venezuelan flavors. In this restaurant, you can find the most common Venezuela dishes. Parking: The restaurant is located at a gas station, the parking lot is free but it is small. Service: The staff was attentive and cordial. It has no waiter, you order and wait for the food. Food quality: It is a true Venezuelan food (I know because I am Venezuelan). Portions are large. You will find the famous empanadas that can be stuffed with meat/chicken/cheese /cazon (type of fish), cachapas (it is a corn dough stuffed with cheese), arepas (Options: Yellow Cheese, Ham, Hand Cheese, Pernil or Grated White Cheese), tequeños, patacón, and pepitos (this is my boyfriend's favorite). Then you have different lunch options (a combination of meat, chicken, rice, pasta, and among others). We order cheese empanada (I love it), cachapa with guayanes cheese, and a pabellón criollo (one of the typical Venezuelan dishes. Rice, banana slices, meatloaf, and black beans). Price: Prices are standard (you have to consider the fact that you are in Miami and everything there is more expensive compared to another part of Florida). We ordered 3 courses for $22. Atmosphere: The restaurant is quite simple, it is large and spacious, it has enough tables and a bathroom, but do not expect something extraordinary. Recommendation: If you have never tried Venezuelan food, I recommend typical dishes such as pabellón, patacón, arepa, empanada, cachapa, and tequeños. Follow me. Ordered 2 empanadas- ( queso and carne mechada). Flavors ok, dough good but you can tell they were not freshly made. Maybe they were there an hour or so.

Really nothing to write home about. Don't expect great venezuelan gastronomy there but the every day garden variety like arepas. I don't think you are missing out if you don't come here.

Always reliable and good food. Not sure how it became so $$$ - $22 for two arepas de jamón y queso???

Good place for eating Venezuelan food, but we Just pass by for a couple of juices and they didn't have either of the Two options we ask for

Food was ok, recommended by a Venezuelan friend. The locals seemed to all be having the fo part of a dish called fafo.

They didn't give me the Arepa with my order. If the person had been less busy gossiping with customers, I would have gotten my full order

P

Nice staff. Quick service. Had the arepa sampler platter. Was a little greasy but overall good. Cafe con leche was mediocre. If you like sports they have a lot of TVs with sports on.

C

Forget the overpriced items they just take way. Way too long food I good but there is no control over customer's turn. Basically they serve you whenever so if you are pressed for time don't come here. 3 stars cause the food is good. FIRST AND LAST TIME FOR ME I asked for the daily special that was advertised and the lady said no daily specials. Lol. What a joke

A

Came here to use restroom while at car wash. Restroom was very clean, thank you. Browsed groceries while there found bread item with guava and all of the loaves were molded, so I passed on the purchase.

A
Alejandro Infante Vidal

The food here tates good but the place itself is not very inviting. Not the kind of place where I'd go again even when the food was fine and prices ok. You have to grab your own food, if there are several customers do a small line and then order and wait until your order is ready to go pick it up and take it to your own table..

D
Denis Tejedor

What a sad place has this joint turned into. Slowest service ever and the most mediocre food.

M

A good arepa MUST be hot or it is pointless. As a tourist of Venezuelan descent, here from the Bay area I was so jealous when I ordered thinking "I can't get this back home!" Now I can go home to California excited to have some good Mexican food where the prices are reasonable and restaurants under promise and over deliver. I would rather have had the food split into several rounds and have each item be hot than one set of multiple platters that were too cold to be enjoyable. Even if everything were perfect it would be almost too expensive. As it was (with the restaurant at less than 20% full Sunday AM) I had to make a special effort to finish my food because I would have preferred hot McDonald's to cool Arepazo. We all got cold Arepas! We got one hot empanada that was late to the table but was the only thing I enjoyed just because it was hot. Now I regret not complaining! The staff was SO confident that it was great a kid walked by and said "delicious right"? Next time I will speak up...

T
Tobias Barrios

This is one of the first cafe-casual restaurant that I tried few years ago when I moved to Fl. The food is good. The service is always nasty.... we know that this is America and everything has a value but they charge for all. Give me a dressing? Ok, 2.75 dollars.... I need small nata 2 Oz, can you give me? 3 dollars, lol. I know that they make money because the community is mostly Venezuelan over there.... but they could work a lot better for customer services. I don't like also juices in this places. Cachapas, tequenos and Empanadas highly recommended!

M
Moxyman

The reason I'm giving it 3 stars it's because I find their prices TOO HIGH, I order 2 pastaleitos de carne(which were saggy) and 4 mini tequeños and a colada for $11 dollars and some change, the food is not amazing but the staff was really nice

C
Carlos Martinelli

Year ago this place was good. Now it’s just another Latin food place. There’s better in Doral.

R

Sadly place is declining we use to come daily but lately Arepa where not up to former standards ..pork was overcooked and salty people super nice but food not what is was

G
Gian Barzellotti

Quality has dropped over the years! This once iconic Venezuelan restaurant has dropped in quality over the years. 20 years ago they would make you the cachapas and arepas from scratch, now they use pre made and prepackaged cachapas and arepas. About the only reason I give it a 2 star, is because the staff is always great!

S
Sean Alvarado

The service was horrible, they took forever to give me 4 of the worst empanadas that I've ever had. I mean the beef was bad but the chicken inside look terrible and there was very little of it while the breading was very soggy and greasy dripping of oil. I would highly recommend not trying their food.

R
Ramon Rodriguez

Is it too hard to smile and be welcoming? Not only did I feel mistreated, but also my Arepa was difficult to eat presentation wise. I think I over paid. Atmosphere is great but too cold.

H
Howard Leef

Bad food and bad service. I would not go back. Not worth the $40 spent at this place. I would rather drive 50 miles to Little Havana Restaurant in Deerflied Beach, Fl and spend $70 for four to enjoy food 20 times better. Not even worth posting photos.

D
Diego Ferrandiz

Pretty old Venezuelan reataurant in Doral. The food is not bad, but with better and newer options in the city this place would need a change. This is a typical Venezuelan place with poeple playing domino in tables outside and drinking beers.

C
Clara M JL

Well I give this place two starts just because the food was cold, and the rice uncooked. I was really disappointed.

A
Anthony Tapia

I'm not familiar with the food so I decided to ask for a hamburger that was on the menu. They kept offering me other dishes from the menu. If they don't have burgers that's ok just tell me. Then I'll consider an alternative product.

L
Luis Nino

“The most expensive arepas I have ever eaten”… Bought 2 arepas venezolanas which included meat , also ordered cheese, tomato, onions and lettuce to be included…these where pretty small amounts…but they charged dearly for each…$3.99 per each one which is outrageous for the amount they serve… We ended up paying $45 dollars for 2 small arepas with the meat, small amount of cheese and veggies…plus 2 juices (one pineapple, the other guanabana)…The price caused indigestion to say the least 😤

J
John Cortiella

Food is 5 stars and the only reason why my wife I will come back. The place is pretty dull and run down. The lighting makes you feel like you are in a high school cafeteria. The ceiling seriously needs replacement, no music but a million tv's but no sound neither. Our entertainment was killing all the ants we found on our table, come on seriously?!? To my understanding this was an over the counter type restaurant but to my surprise they sat us down and took our order like a dine in restaurant but instead of giving us glass cups and actual utensils it was just merely plastic cups, forks and knifes but the plate was glass, we were confused. I think they are in the process of crossing over from the McDonald's experience to a dine in have a waiter take down your order model however they are far from achieving this.

J
Javier Rodriguez

The food was good. My sons liked the arepas and I also liked my coffee with pan de bono. The thing I did not like is the huge amount of single use plastic and styrofoam they use. It would be good if some of that plastic was replaced by something more environmentally friendly to reduce waste.

E
Eugenia Siso

As a Venezuelan, I know this place it's very iconic, when it comes to our food in Miami. Way too expensive for the quality and sizes. Just around the corner you can find Pepitos Arepas Bar (which I'm not related in any way, but I love), where for the same price or less, arepas are almost double the size of Arepazos', not only the arepa itself but the filling. The cashier wasn't very familiar with the pricing (funny to say), she was going to charge us extra tomatoes, and when my mom re-asked surprised, the other girl corrected the cashier, telling her she wasn't supposed to do an extra charge for that. I'm still wondering where's the 'verde' of that attempt of 'salsa verde' they do. In addition, they charge $3 for a juice smaller than 12 ounces. 20 years ago maybe this was THE Venezuelan spot, but today I'm sure it's not. And I'm not expecting to be cheaper, but it needs to have a correlation price-size-quality, specially now when you can find Venezuelan awesome food in every corner. Service was pretty fast and people were very nice, I wouldn't say the problem is it's employees but the owners. They also have WiFi and the place was clean!

B
Blood-Rage

Questions were asked before purchase & was misled. 1 cook used gloves but the other cook coughed in his hand then handled food with no gloves. Some meat looked dry & old. Place did not feel clean.

I had the hope to eat a real Venezuelan “hallaca”,I pay $9.99 per unit and it was a major disappointment. The flavor is not good at all and they look big but is only because the use tons of plantain leaves to wrap them. When you open them surprise and on top of that they don’t taste good at all!

H
Hal HB

I was craving for an arepa and decided to come out of my way here and it was so disappointing. I decided on an arepa with white cheese and it was pricey, cold and not even that tasty. The small coffee was tiny and tasted good but boy it is a rip off.

J
James Bahamonde

Bad service, bad food, overpriced for the kind of stablishment. Not a clean place, I would have give this place a 0 stars if I could. Never coming back to this place. I don't recommend anyone to come to this place. You can find decent places for the same price.

J
Jeanette Castillo

The food is not fresh, they just heated up, the pork tasted bad and when we told the manager , he said “well to my opinion I don’t think is bad, just because I haven’t had any other complaints” that’s not the way to test customers, very bad customer service. Don’t go there to waste you money and time.

L
LeoneL Rivera

Way over priced food, I didn’t end up buying anything because the person who helped me seemed to be bothered by me asking him a simple question about the size of the arepas, kind of rude about it. Location is also unorganized and dirty.

T
Turk Turk

Not recommended. Food was ok service is super bad. Cashier took wrong order and they want us to pay more. If you dont speak English call someone who can help you on the register. Definitely not worth it. $6.75 1 Arepa super expensive.

J
Juan Lopez Montero

Overrated place by Venezuelans, fatty food without the taste of Venezuelan's food, the coffee burned, if you know what I mean, the cachapa con queso, I'm speechless how to describe it, and no in a good way, the outside tables OMG, is no excuse possible, the kind of tables( and I know is to play dominoes) inside the same the pastelitos overtoasted, probably because weren't sold early, and so go on......

H
Harry V

Went Tuesday (2/4/25) at around 8:30 and it was closed....while hours on Google says open until 10 pm...blatant customer service failure..oh well

J

Este lugar es demasiado caro. Over priced. Quality was mediocre to be generous. Not returning ever. For what you will spend here, you can eat better food at a nicer place. By the way the place was empty. Cleanliness 3 stars.

D
Daniela Cella

Hello! Be sure to be VERY specific about how you want your food because even if you have a specific request they will still add things to your meal you do not like! Pidan exactamente como quieran la comida xq ellos no te lo van a dar al gusto, sino como ellos lo quieran! #Venezolana

J
Jason Mena

Ran out of churrasco? More like didn't want to take the time to cook it. Ropa Vieja flavor was weak as a kitten and rough like leather. Black beans was like eating jelly beans from three halloweens ago.

M
Martha Maldonado

Who have rated this place with 4.1 stars??? I think the owners, their family and friends!!! Because I went there thinking I would be treated like venezuelan people are used to,but El Arepazo's staff have no idea how customers service means. We (venezuelan people) are friendly, kind and one of the most sweet people on the world, but the people that work there is completely opposite way. The prices are too high and the arepas are worse that I had never thought. So look for another place or make your own arepas at home!!!

A

Horrible Service Specially the guy who charge, 4 times been there 4 times they take the order wrong or overcharge or dont give me what I order. Great Fast Food place but Horrible service.

I don’t live near doral anymore, & when I’m around doral I always look for Venezuelan places to eat my favorites. Coming back to El Arepazo let me disappointed. This place used to be so good, I can’t believe their quality has lowered so much over the years. We ordered Pabellon, beans were tasteless, meat super greasy. But the worst part was the prepackaged Cachapa they are selling. Zero flavor, and to top it off I was told that Nata & Cheese on top is an additional charge. They should look all the competitive places they have around. $32 to the garbage.

K
Kris S.

Spent $35 for 3 to-go meals got home and the meat for 1 meal was missing. The black beans and rice were soooo bland and had zero flavor and no salt whatsoever. The meat was terrible and tasteless, save your money and go anywhere else but don't eat here.

L
Luka C

Don't eat here food is tasteles, overrated, overpriced waiting time is gaslin. Spent nearly 80 dollars just for the food to be tasteless. DON'T EAT HERE if you wish Venezuelan food of quality go somewhere else. One of the saddest thing is the owner don't take the rating of the people I seen many comments regarding this same thing and the owners haven't changed a single thing I'm really disgusted with myself the food was so greasy and expensive this is it for now I know I won't be able to change the owners mind but at least I can change the mind of people that want to eat here :).

L
Lp Lp

Venezuelan food is delicious but the food they sell in this place does not honor it at all. I ordered a plate of pabellón criollo; rice was super hard and tasteless, the meat was terrible, the beans looked like plastic and everything was cold! It is the first time I go to this place and I think there will be no second.

J
Jose Garrido

This place is over priced, I ordered a cachapa they charged me $9 (mini cachapa) didn’t have no taste whatsoever. My daughters wanted Tody I ordered 3 they charge $5 for large, it was the smallest cup and it had no taste. Never again going to this place again.

K
Kinsell Lambert

The heavy set blonde lady who works at the gas station side is just rude and now I popped in to the restaurant side and the dark haired older lady clearly is annoyed and bothered by having to tend to customers. If you DO NOT enjoy being treated like if your interest to make a purchase and consume as a paying customer is a nuisance and simply an inconvenience for them then this is definitely not the place for you. This is Doral you can't throw a stone without hitting a place to purchase an Arepa, these ladies need to get over themselves.

a
alejandra roa

Why does the owner/manager has to be such a disrespectful person. As a current customer of El Arepazo I am very disappointed on how he treats people. I would make sure that everyone I know doesn't eat there anymore. The only thing good are your tequeños.

M
Michelee Parsons

First time @ el arepazo …what a disappointment food was cold asked them to warm and they served again cold. Finally asked them to put food in microwave but I realized that the food is bad. And warming up doesn’t make it better, my friend had a Reina pepiada arepa and the chicken tasted funny. Bad quality not worth it

C

My arepas were retosted and burned, so I would not recommend this place. Don’t let the reviews fool you. The quality overall is not good.

At around 7:15 pm I took my two sons to this restaurant. I ordered 3 arepas with chicken, food was ok, but one of my sons found a sharp piece of plastic in his food. He showed it to me and then I proceeded to show the person at the register and gave the piece of plastic. After that my son refused to eat his food, they apologized for it but imagine if my son would have eaten the piece of plastic. He could’ve gotten cut very badly in his mouth and worse if he swallowed it. I was very upset. They didn’t offer a reimbursement.
