The food here is amazing!! My friend brought me here and it’s the main place I go to whenever I want Mexican food. I love how flavorful their food is reminds me of home back in California. Even the vegetarian options are great. The ingredients were well thought out and tasted just as amazing as the meat ones do. I’ve been there multiple times already and they have served fresh and hot every time.
Jacalito is the best always I had Dine in many times like a year or 2 I was close by so I got takeout and the customer service is amazing. The food is always amazing all the time it’s nothing never wrong. They are so kind they treat you with respect and care. The food is always fresh if you’re looking for real Mexican food this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed loves.Mucho Gracias To everyone at jacalito loves.
Westcoast guy here. I'm loving all the Cuban food but craved a taste of home. These tacos are as good as any I've had anywhere! 🙏🏻🔥🙌🏼 The queso dip with chorizo was also great. Thanks! 😋
Delicious food, great collection of Mexican varieties. We had Enchiladas (beans) and Jacalito Street Bowl with 🐔 in Lunch. They also have some Mexican beers. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Happy Hours are from 3-7 PM weekdays and extended Happy Hours on Thursday from 3-10 PM. Nice little cozy place, highly recommend weather you're looking for a small bite or lunch/dinner.
This place is great for authentic Mexican food. We had the Shrimp Ceviche appetizer (only available on weekends) and it was excellent. The place does not look like much but the food does not disappoint.
I ordered two different sets of tacos and I had some queso fundido. One pork and one steak. They also have corn tortilla so I can fully partake. I will need to make another trip as the food was good. The queso was really filling and had 2 sets of chips. There are traditional mexican dishes on the menu. I like the tacos because they are quick and no utensils needed. The food was good. I do recommend
Great service! Food was amazing and fast but well cooked, ordered Barbacoa (lamb tacos), Combination #2 and Oaxacan beef with its sides, Horchata and Maracuya for drinks; needless to say my husband and I tried Not to down them in seconds 😍 Very nice setting, good Mexican music (lively). Will definitely be going back.
Tried this restaurant on a whim and it was delicious. It has a small, hole-in-the-wall feel with delicious food. No one at the restaurant spoke English, but were willing to help you order. Everything we had was very tasty, but the Carne Asada was probably the best dish.
THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND PREPARED WITH CARE THE SERVICE WAS GREAT! FIRST TIME IN FLORDA. THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD!

Reasonably-priced breakfast specials with friendly, attentive service. The Huevos rancheros with beans was phenomenal. Salsa and chips were delicious, too - the salsa packs some heat!
Great little spot for a mojito and taco. The salsa is a perfect blend of spice and flavor. So much so that I asked for more. The Sopas were amazing. The steak fajitas were also great. I highly recommend stopping if you're in the area.
Home style mexican food! The server was polite and food arrived hot and quick. Portion sizes are pretty good and i was shocked to see the low prices of beer. Recommeneed. We visited on the afternoon of Christmas and they were open and busy.
I ordered three Tacos, all beef. They were served in soft corn tortillas with onions, cilantro and lime. The Tacos were delicious, the best I've had in I must say the food was absolutely amazing as a visitor from Pennsylvania I have to say I recommend this place for a fast friendly service. With delightful food.
My wife and I love their tacos, we have tried several other places and this is our favorite!
Was looking for a place to kill some time before the train ride back to Deerfield. Had 2 hours to spare so I walked around till I stumbled upon this gem. Food was totally Mexican, hot, spicy and fast. I could tell be the salsa they give you with the chips. I walked in and seated myself within 3 minutes I had a menu, water and chips and salsa. Wish I had asked the servers name whoever you are young lady you were phenomenal. The manager was on point busy as a bee but checked on me 2 time within my 40 minute dinner session. I am a beverage consultant so I spend 60 hours a week in restaurant. This was truly refreshing, all I had was my mead and water but nothing beats good service.
We took a Lyft here on our first night in Miami waiting to leave on a cruise the next day. It's the food and friendly service and live music is what make it awesome. The location is so-so, but sitting out side in a colorful cute dining area was a lot of fun. Our group of 4 all had Margaritas and shrimp tacos. Very good! Prices were also decent. Would go here again
Really authentic, delicious food, good portions! Friendly service and family atmosphere, everything is fairly priced and they have a variety of choices, surely to please every palate!
We sat outside. It's on Flagler St Just south of the approaches and departures at MIA. Very basic, excellent food and service. I was surprised to pay a $.75 charge for my takehome leftovers.
Walter and his wife own this little homestyle place. They have great authentic food. My sister introduced me to the place a few years ago. I have eaten here many times over the years. Everytime I go the food is fresh, tastes amazing, great service and feel like I got quality for my $$$. I would go back and I highly recommend this place! Ask for Walter and he will make sure you are treated with care and love!
I read the great reviews and decided to try it out. It was crowded inside so I sat outside. The waitress was very nice. I ordered three Tacos, one chicken, one pork and one beef. They were served in soft corn tortillas with onions, cilantro and lime. The Tacos were delicious, the best I've had in Miami. Usually I dump a lot of hot sauce on my Tacos, so when I say these were so full of flavor, they didn't need sauce, that's saying something. I will definitely be back.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! From the very first time that I ordered until tonight which is been probably a total of about 35 orders, I can say firsthand that this Spanish cuisine has been spot on every single time I had ordered from them! I’m allergic to pork and they always make my substitutions for steak and chicken beautifully! I love this place. If you were in the mood for some great Mexican food please try this restaurant!
We were looking for a place to eat dinner, and we weren't familiar with the area around the hotel. We decided to try it, at first impression we were concerned because it was small and looked like a dive. BUT IT IS NOT. Our waitress was awesome and we cleaned our plates. Food was GREAT, atmosphere was GREAT. If back in that area of Miami, we will be back and if we spend more than one day I will eat dinner there every night!
Absolutely loved this place. Food was well priced and delicious. The carnitas tacos are awesome and the queso fundido was great too. Came back a different day and got the combination #2 which was a lot of food and I got the guacamole as well. The spicy sauce/salsa they give you with the chips is also great and actually spicy Fair warning it helps to know some Spanish if you're coming here as none of the waitresses I talked to knew much English, but food speaks all languages 😉
The tacos, flautas and enchiladas are great here. We order out about once a month here.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Flagami area (Jacalito #2 is nearby @ 27th Ave, on the NE corner of Flagler). Service is outstanding, complementing the authentic gastronomic offerings at fair prices. Been coming here for years! Pictured is my Jacalito salad with beef.
A happy place with vibrant colors; was passing by on a Friday night and decided to go in. Loved the Virgen de Guadalupe altar 🇲🇽 ♥️ As soon as we sat down a friendly server brought chips , salsa and the menu. Ordered a Margarita but… it is not their forte 👎 Beer was good though 👍🏼 Ordered steak flautas , comes with beans, pico de gallo and guacamole, good portion and taste 👍🏼 Rice is extra $3.25 Ordered Burrito and wao, huge and tasty 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Have to come back for the 🌮. There was karaoke and there is this guy from 🇬🇹 Guatemala that keeps the vibe going on all night. Excellent! 🎵
Wow, definitely don’t judge this place by the exterior. It’s quite nice and authentic very traditional . they pack a punch on flavor. The nachos they bring the table the sauce. The lady told me it was hot but it’s more peppery hot but very tasty, I poured it on everything. The service was excellent, nice and polite. And the espresso was perfect.
We ordered Veg Nachos, Veg Enchiladas and Veg Quesadilla. The nachos were okay-ish coz they lacked guacamole. My friends said Quesadilla was good, but enchilada wasn't so much on point. Service was good. Parking provided.
The food is always good and the prices are usually cheap. Expect to have to flag down or call out to staff for the check though. I recommend the quesadilla chilanga, it's seriously delicious.
This was our first stop in Miami and we really enjoyed it. The food was authentic and fresh. Great customer service and the fruit punch margarita was really good!

As hard as it is to find a real good mexican place in Miami, this place actually surpassed my expectations. It is a little hard to find since it kind of hidden by all the lovely plants, but once you find it you will be surprise of how nice it is. They have their own parking so you won't have to worry about it. Staff was extremely friendly, they gladly went over their specials and the menu and answered all of our questions. We decided to sit outside and they had a nice selection of music playing. As for their food that's when I wasn't able to give them five stars, their menu did not amazed me it was really hard for me to decide what to get, since they pretty much had variations of the same and whatever looked appetizing was wayyyy over priced. We got the platter and it was delicious!
Pretty good and clean food. I loved the way my tacos were prepared. My wife's enchilada was amazing. Has a little something for everyone. Not very best place to eat outside though, you can hear the airplanes fly by and the loud street cars. Inside seating is pretty hard to get once it hits night time and it's small. Highly recommend for foodies.
Prices are reasonable. Very small establishment, tables fill up fast especial big parties of 4+. Staff is attentive. Food tastes good. Enough parking available for the size. Clean bathrooms. Management/owner very hospitable.
To give this place a proper rating i would have to visit again. Northern restaurants fault i went with preexisting stomach issues. Took my mother there for mothers day along with my wife and daughter. They all loved the food. The 2 to 3 bites i managed to take were delicious. The Botana Borracha or something like that? Highly Recommend it as an appetizer. The prices are fair the waitresses are nice and the whole scan the qr code for the menu is a nice modern touch.
I love this place! The food is amazing. The service is quick and friendly. Not too expensive for the quality food they offer. Although sometimes their meat is a bit on the rare side but they offer solutions on the spot and the parrillada is AMAZING.
Food was good. Had the chilaquiles and the sauce had a good flavor. Tortilla chips too thin or not crispy enough, though, so they get soggy very quickly. Totopos would've been good to use. Beans were good too.
My partner and I came her to try new authentic Mexican food it was not a disappointment how ever the margarita is smaller than you would expect but good.. definitely a Come back spot
Great little find. We went after Miami Marlins game & glad we did. Charming little family Mexican restaurant. Food was very good, service was friendly & attentive. Clean authentic flavors in their dishes & nicely presented. So glad we went & look forward to our return with family.
I am a super picky eater. With that being said, this place is AMAZING. I'm from out of town, I asked around from the locals what thier favorite places are and this was high on the list. After reading some of the reviews I decided to go, a decision I do not regret. The parking/entrance is tricky and the setting area is small but the food is well worth it. Almost no one speaks English, which made it difficult to ask question but they tried their best. The cook lady was very nice and did a great job. Side Note : the "salsa" that comes with the chips, NOT GREAT. Ask for the green sauce. I highly recommend the enchiladas with green sauce. Given the chance , I'll be back!
Good breakfast burritos, but very priced
Came here twice in one day cause the tacos were soo good I had the Al pastor and the cochenita taco the only thing that takes away from this place is that most of the servers don’t speak English and looked at me crazy when I tried to order but other than that the food is great. The guac is good as well 😊
Cozy stop for really good tacos in Miami. I would recommend this taco joint for anyone visiting the area or for a quick bite before heading to South Beach. It looks family owned which is a bonus in my books. The waitresses are friendly, service is fast and the tacos were delicious!! Try it out, I don't think you will be disappointed!
An average taco place with an average customer service. Honestly the food looked better than it actually tasted. We ordered nachos, but it seems like seasoning was missing or they forgot to add salt. The Michelada was really good.
Take advantage of the daily happy hour from 4 to 7 with reduced prices for drinks and food. Margarita is very small but quite tasty. The tacos did not have a lot of flavor. The guacamole is very good.
Fast and friendly service. Food was good, would def recommend the Al Pastor tacos and agua de Maracuya! The guac was good as well, however the burrito was a bit bland. Would def go back to try more tacos tho!

Food was good. I had a Margarita and it wasn’t good at all. But would go back for the food.
Great food and service , very delicious.- leaving 3 stars because of the environment, too loud. Atmosphere was very noisy and not pleasant. There was a group of people drinking beer buckets next to us and they were making a lot of noise and were clearly drunk. Nobody did anything about it. Next time I’ll order for delivery.
The food is really good and I love the chips and salsa. The prices are a little high but that’s pretty much everywhere nowadays. Be sure to read the bill closely. The gratuity is already included however at the bottom it gives you a suggested tip amount to leave and I didn’t catch that the first time I was there so I think I ended up tipping twice . They also charge for to-go boxes which really bugs me. I didn’t realize that and I put all my food in one box and was charged for two boxes. It’s not so much the .50 cents it’s just the concept .
It says it is Mexican but it is catered by Cuban. The food was a so so, and I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants that are catered by none mexican. The meat was ok but the rice I did not like it. I ended up eating just the meat, the guac, pico de gallo, and a little bit of the salad. The spicy salsa that was offered with the chips was kind of spicy and had a good taste. At least that I did enjoy more. The waiter was nice and welcomed my friend and I and was very curteous. It was around noon time and the place was empty. It is a small place like with about 8 to 10 small tables and has a small outer dining area under a small roof. I ordered the steak salad bowl which did not mention it had rice on the menu but when I got it, well as you can see on the pic, it had a lot of rice. My friend ordered the steak plate that came with rice and salad. I did not take a pic of her plate but pretty much she took everything home. She just ate like a 4th part of the steak and some rice. She said her steak was ok and the rice also but she rather take it home since she pretty much did not want to finish it. Did not tell me why but it looked like she did not like it much either. Hopefully my review does not keep any one from going there cause my taste for mexican food is different from other people since I am from Mexican parents but born and raised in the US but my food has always been Mexican or TexMex style.

The food is good and when we would go years ago, the service was also. Now, the food is still good; however, the lousy service ruins it. They apparently don't want to work and they give you ugly faces if you dare ask for anything outside of your first drink order and your food order. We will definitely not be returning. It's unfortunate because the food is actually really good and it's authentic Mexican which is not too common here in Miami.
The website says draft beer... There's no draft beer of any kind. Just bottled. The first Mexican restaurant I've been to where the queso dip could not be 'dipped' into. It would have needed to be cut into and placed on each chip. Plus, there is a massive language barrier. I do not expect everyone on the planet to speak english, but the website & menu is in english so I figured I'd be able to order from the menu. It was clear I would not even be able to point at a menu item to order it, so I paid almost $20 for 1 beer and dips I could not dip and chips that I did not eat. This is a hard pass unless you want a Cuban spin on Mexican food..?
The food is okay there. Been there a few times because close to my house. However, the reason I give it a two star is only because the table next to me kept smoking cigarettes and weed. What makes it even worse is the waitress was laughing with them about it instead of having them put it out. All the smoke was blowing towards me with the wind. This is unacceptable. Waitress should have had them put it out or leave to smoke. Instead I was the one who had to endure it until I finished and quickly paid and left.
In search of a family mexican restaurant. The food was good. The price and portions are not worth it. I've never stayed hungry after going to a Mexican restaurant. More plate than anything. We won't be coming back.
So overpriced and expensive! 30 for a chicken fajitas?!?!?!
Food was cold and cuality has diminished significantly. The waiter had to take back the food to reheat. NOT sure if there's a new chef but definitely doesn't taste the same as before. Chips were stale and cold not freshly made like in the past. Outside seating was dirty with trash on the floor. The only good thing was the waiter who was very attractive and apologetic and made all efforts to improve the visit. To make things worse the price has increased too much and the cuality has decreased tremendously... We will NOT dine here again...
For years this was one my fav Mexican spots but after yesterday experience we won’t be back. First we were not informed about taco Wednesday, for some reason the waitress did not provide us that menu so we ended up ordering more expensive items. Second on the menu they state they charge gratuity for parties 4+, we were two and they added a 18% gratuity and on top of that they were hoping I did not realize it so they handed me the receipt asking for more. Honestly $80 for one app, 4 soft drinks a torta and a soup is way too much. And don’t get me started with the cleaning of the outside dining area. I’m disappointed.
I went to the restaurant for dinner on monday and the place was emphty.the food was ok but small portion.i ordered a burrito with no side item and the margarita small.only one server doing everything.be careful the charge you fee for using the credit card. i am not comingback again...very disappoinment..

Be careful when ordering any food on Uber eats from this place. We ordered two seperate orders of Gorditas and Uber eats says you get three Gorditas. Upon food being delivered we only got two in each order. Called the restaurant to mention this and they say is “our chef said he put 3 Gorditas in each order.” Food is good but clearly the service is bad and they didn’t make any attempt to rectify things. Also, don’t order through uber eats app either because the pricing is significantly higher. For example, to order a Jarritos soda at most places is normally $3-$4. At Jacalito it’s over $7

I wrote this review in 2023 : So disappointed at this place. Just paid $13 for this to go and I haven’t eaten a bite . This is supposed to be a bowl. I came in to dine in couple days ago and the food quality and quantity was so much better that’s why I decided to come back. I called trying to get the food how’s supposed to be but instead I got a very unprofessional answer. Not recommended at all. A month later I came back: I decided to give this restaurant another chance after my previous experience, but I was met with some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. Upon sitting down, the waiter — a skinny guy — threw the menu onto the table and rudely asked, “Why did you come back if you don’t like this place?” His aggressive attitude was shocking, and he appeared visibly irritated, even sweaty, as if my presence alone offended him. It was clear that he had taken my previous review personally, even though I never mentioned him by name. He claimed that the owner had seen me on the cameras and told him that I wasn’t welcome due to my review. This seemed like a blatant lie, as no professional business would behave this way toward a customer, especially one who had returned to give them another chance. The woman behind the counter also supported his outrageous statement, saying I wasn’t allowed to be there just because I had written a negative review. It’s absolutely baffling that a place would treat its customers like this — holding grudges and going out of their way to make people feel unwelcome. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and basic decency in this restaurant. It’s hard to believe they let people like this represent their business in customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values being treated with respect.
Called and did a pick up order for sopes. When I went to pick up my order It was completely wrong. They gave me an order of flautas. Baldo Cuban guy who took my order is rude!!!!! After explaining to him my order was wrong and if he can accommodate me & change my order he said he couldn’t do anything. Basically telling me to leave with what was given to me. I let that go. I told him to call a manager or whoever is in charge and he said they weren’t available. After seeing that I wasn’t leaving he decided to make a phone call and told manager what happened and was told to exchange my order for what I had originally ordered. This man is rude and nasty. I am disgusted with the way he treated me. If you don’t like working with customers do not work at a restaurant. I will never come back here again. He deserves to get fired!!!!!! ASAP!!! NEVER IN MY LIFE WAS I EVER TREATED THIS WAY! I really want to talk to the owner of this business!
Food was ok, until you get the bill. I was with a party of 3 and they added an 18% gratuity. The check specifically said gratuity will be added to parties of 4+. When it was brought to their attention they said there is nothing they can do. And came up with excuses why they couldn't resolve the issue. The manager/owner would not honor the issue. She got defensive when asked about it. Then they also add 3.85% to use a credit card. Very disappointed after all of this. I do not recommend going here. If all this is required by law or their "policy" then it should be posted. Tips should be based upon customer service not forced on the customer based upon what the owners think it should be. Tips are earned not required.
I came here to have breakfast with my oldest daughter, the waitress was real nice and attentive, the food had a good taste, we both got full so asked to take the rest. Once we got home my youngest son decided to taste her plate and found a small nail in the beans. I was in complete shock. I was relieved that he both my children didn’t get to swallow this and god was there for us. I called the restaurant spoke to the waitress, I informed her of what we found, she did apologize continued to tell to her pictures which I did. After 30 mnts she calls back a bit more defensive tone expressing how this has never happened and she couldn’t do anything else because we didn’t find this while we were in the restaurant. I was beyond bothered by their response. I at least expected the owner to personally apologize to say the least, I myself being a business owner would have taken a different approach directly with the customer, I expressed the waitress how the owner should be the one taking responsibility not sending her to deal with something he should have. This was beyond scary and with owner action, I highly do not recommend anyone to come here, if so be very careful with your food while you eat it! 0 stars!
Ordered Fundto cheese dip and pico. Received no chips to eat it with. okay, maybe a mistake... Called the Flagler location and and spoke to a nice lady. Explained, no chips. She hung up the phone on me. Love the food, but that is terrible.
⸻ One of the Worst Mexican Dining Experiences in Miami This was easily one of the two worst Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to in Miami. The food was terrible — bland, soggy, and completely lacking freshness. The beef soup was absurdly large for one person, and when we asked to take it to go, we were handed a large styrofoam cup and told to pour it ourselves from the bowl. Completely impractical and unprofessional. Service was equally bad. A single waitress was responsible for everything, including mopping the floors while intermittently serving the only two tables in the restaurant. She was pushy, rushed us, and clearly just wanted to wrap up for the day. We later realized why — about 45 minutes before closing, four of her friends showed up to eat. That explained the urgency. The outside seating area is noisy and unpleasant, with constant car traffic, police sirens, and fire engines roaring by. Not a relaxing atmosphere at all. To top it off, there was no warning about an extra charge for using a credit card, and an automatic 18% gratuity added after tax, which is legally questionable and certainly unethical. The mandatory tip for such subpar service was insulting. This place was a complete disappointment in every way — food, service, transparency, and ambiance. I will never return, and I suggest others save their time and money. This place is a total rip-off. They have 3 outdoor fans, and the waitress turned 2 off them of on an extremely hot muggy Miami night to save electricity. This place falsely claims to be in Coral Gables when is actually in the hood.
I’m writing to share a traumatic experience I had at this restaurant. I came in to use the restroom and was told it was for customers only, which I respect. I offered to buy a bottle of water, and was initially told it cost $2. I paid, but was then told it was “$2 and change,” and after giving an extra dollar, the price jumped to $3.35 due to a $0.95 surcharge — which felt excessive for a small purchase in an empty restaurant. More troubling was the staff’s behavior. The man and woman at the front mocked me, called me cheap, made comments about my diamond ring, and insulted my outfit. I’ve never been treated so rudely by restaurant employees. Regardless of the food, I would never return after such disrespect. I hope this gets addressed so no one has to suffer what I went thru or get ripped off .
The food was decent, however the service is pathetic. The waitress there is so rude and annoying with her tone and she mocked me in Spanish. She doesn’t have minimum standards. And on top it they charged 7 dollars gratuity(tip) for a 25 dollar bill without even asking me. They need to learn some basic manners.
This is a terrible place to eat the torta didn't even taste good it had a weird taste and the tostada de ceviche almost $8.00 dollars for a little small tostada very expensive. And I asked for Horchata normally when you go to a Mexican place they give you a big cup and here They gave me the horchata in a kids cup and charge 2.55 8oz cup really I was mad not only that the Michelada taste only like Clamato and instead of them putting chilito on top of the cup they put salt no taste to it and over price total price was 43.15 . Theirs no way this is a Mexican restaurant Don't go eat there if you want to be over charged and food nasty
So absolutely disappointed. I just went and picked up birria tacos and a birria quesadilla. These tacos are soo dried out and burned. It’s like they threw meat on a tortilla and called it a day no cheese, no love. The sauce is ok. Nothing to get crazy about. Spent $40.. won’t be doing that again… Horchata was ok though
We got the most basic stuff you can get here and for three people came out to 150 🤣 I wouldn’t waste your money or time here. Chips and Salsa are mediocre small salsa and small thing of chips. Refills are not included. Asking to get cooked onion instead of raw onion is extra on top. Tortillas were just reheated old ones. Al pastor tacos tasted like fake meat pineapple chunks that were hard. The costillas that we ordered medium rare tasted like rubber, and mostly fat and 34.99 wasted🤮 receipt says gratuity for party of 4+ included and we were a party of three and it was already included. If you were here 3-4 months ago it’s not the same.
Food is not genuine tortillas are microwaved and stale ...chilaquiles are made with bagged tortilla chips salty expensive and customer service comes with attitude Not a good place maybe for beers
