Delicious burgers! I got the Classic and my friend ordered the Frida by Kush. Everything was fantastic. Norman was our server—he was cute and incredibly sweet, which made the experience even better. We were really happy with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. Sadly, they’ll be closing because the landlord is raising the rent. Such a shame to lose a great spot over something like that. I would definitely have been coming back
Good 👍🏼 burger spot. Coconut grove area has chill vibe. The service was good and attentive. The burgers were tasty and wait was not long. We sat outside on high chairs. The prices were reflected the area but did not disappoint. It's located on a corner so people watching is good for thos that enjoy that.
Fun place. Very friendly staff. Only stopped for a drink. If the burgers are as good as the beer selection they're probably great.
If you’re a true burger enthusiast, LoKal is an absolute must-visit. Their burgers — made with the famous Kush-style touch — are juicy, flavorful, and crafted to perfection. Each one brings something unique to the table, whether it’s a bold twist on a classic or a totally unexpected flavor combo that just works. You can really tell these are competition-level burgers — not your average patty-and-bun. They’re stacked with fresh ingredients, cooked exactly right, and bursting with taste in every bite. Every burger I’ve tried has had its own personality, and honestly, I’d come back just to keep exploring the menu. Pro tip: Come hungry. You’ll want to try more than one.
Food is excellent, try the alligator strips. It's a unique experience that everyone coming to coconut grove should go through in order to be inducted as a real grove afficionado. The restaurant has quirky vibes and they use mason jars and old dvd cases as their receipt folders. The food is great for mid-range fare including burgers and sandwiches, the fries are also pretty good. They have a decent beer selection and some outdoor seating. It's also a great price point compared to other restaurants around the grove that feel more like a tourist trap. The parking in the grove is atrocious in general and that is not the fault of this establishment, also the traffic is very hard entering into and out of the grove to get here but once you're in Lokal you feel like you're really settling into what the vibes of coconut grove are actually supposed to feel like. This is one of the kush hospitality restaurants and the owner/restauranteur is well known for his creative flair while maintaining balance. Just try not to overdo it here, this isn't a fine dining restaurant but rather a place to grab something nice to eat and a cold beer on a hot day.
Great vibe and great food. The Frita by Kush burger was super flavorful and the fries were perfect. Our server was super attentive and helpful and recommended us to the Titi Marie vermouth and Tripping Animals No Mames beer. Loved our drinks and will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!
Great place for a beer and good food. Bang bang shrimp was awesome and perfect paired with a beer
Always a good choice. They have definitely increased their prices since I was last here, but the food is always delicious and in good portions. I got the miami heat but replaced the burger with chicken. The jalapeños are fire! Always order the honey mustard with everything, but I love it eith the sweet potato fries. The Key Lime Pie is a staple as well. Burger, fries, and pie with water will run you just under $40 (with an automatic 20% gratuity built in).
If you're looking for a great burger and lots of draft beer selections, this is the place! We loved the atmosphere. This was our first time here, and they gave us a little treat for visiting. Thank you! If we are ever back in Miami, we will definitely be visiting again. I definitely recommend it. We ordered our burgers medium well and were cooked perfectly. Bar and table seating available.
LoKal Burguers at 3190 Commodore Plaza is a must-visit spot with a funky, laid-back vibe! Their unique burger preparations and standout crocodile nuggets are a delight—crispy, flavorful, and hard to resist. The decor is eclectic, featuring a cool cow head decal and a creative cork wall with the LoKal logo. They also offer “Meatless Mondays” with new weekly features for veggie lovers. The neon sign outside adds a lively touch, and the service is top-notch, making for a great dining experience. Perfect for a casual night out with friends! Highly recommend.
My Father and I had a fantastic experience at LoKal in Coconut Grove, especially with Cailyn as our server-she was absolutely perfect, attentive, and made the visit even better. I first came here in 2019 and tried their unique burger with a Krispy Kreme donut as the bun, which was a fun and delicious twist. Although they no longer serve that burger regularly, it occasionally appears on the menu by chance, so keep an eye out for it! The food was exceptional-fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The overall vibe is casual and welcoming, with great handcrafted burgers and a solid selection of craft beers. The food quality remains excellent, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely a must-visit spot in Coconut Grove for burger lovers.
We had the tuna, burger, alligator bites and grilled cheese with tomato soup. All of these dishes were excellent. The grilled cheese stole the show, it was amazing. The gator bites were also excellent. The staff were nice and friendly. They have great seating both indoors and out. They are also dog friendly and have great outdoor seating for them as well as free dog biscuits.

Been coming here since Matt first opened here in Coconut Grove. . Came back to see if it's still on poi t. And yes it us. But what's up with 50/50 no more? Had the Frita which is great. Had my Kaptain Kush, that I normally use to like from MIA Brewery. But not as good. But have to admit Dime Piece from Unbranded is a good beer. 2 blocks from my crib. This is a beer and burger man's heaven. Also Matt is old school like me. Go Musketeeers
Food was amazing! I had the Frita Burger by Kush and I didn't want it to end. We also had fried pickles which the sauce has just the right kick. Overall highly recommend trying this place out.
The burger was just amazing. Surely one of the bests that I have ever tasted. The LoKal and the Frita by Kush are delicious. My friend tried the Blues and hated it. Apparently the blue cheese flavor dominated over anything else. The neighborhood is sweet even so we also enjoyed the walk in the area.
We’ve been to Lokal a few times and it’s never disappointed. Everything is delicious - the burgers & fries are consistently good. Highly recommend The Frita burger, the fried pickles, and their new chili. The service is always quick & welcoming.
If I can give more than 5 star I would!! I have burger and alligators bite both fantastic my dog have brown rice and chicken since they have dogs menu too! The place is nice and good vibe I will be back with friends for sure! Bravissimi!
Delishish, one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, The Shroom. Sweet find, great atmosphere friendly service and amazing food. highly recommend this place!!
Four of us had dinner at LoKal recently. Two of our party were offered beer tasting to pick their beer of choice. We started with their guacamole appetizer which we all enjoyed. We each had the Classic burger individualized for our tastes. The burgers were fantastic. For dessert we shared a very generous slice of Key Lime pie which was the best we ever had and we eat Key Lime pie all the time. Our server Kati was friendly, informative and anticipated our needs. Other staff came by to make sure everything was OK. Even the manager Humberto came by to check in with us. We highly recommend LoKal. We will return !
Burger was delicious! 100% recommend. 20% gratuity included
My experience was lovely. Even on the weekend we were seated right away and the service was perfect. I love how servers share the story of their brand and commitment to locally-sourced products. I also appreciated how our server was honest about not having guac because of the high price of avocados and not wanting to pass that cost along to the customer. And as always, delicious beer and food!
I don't know why I've never eaten here until very recently. But glad I finally made my way here. They have quite a number of different burgers and sides on their menu and prices are reasonable considering the price point of other fancier burger joints in the city. I ordered the Hawaiian Burger with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was definitely good enough for two meals for me and the fries were great fresh as well. I saw all the burger patties on the tray as they were taking it out and they all looked hugeee, so come hungry.
So far the BEST BURGER in Miami - FL. Here is a real example of good customer service in a restaurant and how a staff member turned my innocent hospitality complaint into a loyal returning customer, while making me smile also the environment it’s amazing and unique, the music it’s perfect and, the waiter was fantastic and super friendly. Thank you LoKaL, for sure I will be back with friends and family even by myself.
Lokal exceeded my expectations. We where sat quickly in a communal table and the service was great. I had the fidyfidy burger and it was so flavorful! From now on I want all my burgers to be 50% bacon!!! My husband had the Miami Blues, he enjoyed it and says it's a must try for those who like blue cheese. Our pup ate too- chicken, rice, and veggie mix. Happiest dog on earth! We didn't have dessert but will try the famous keylime pie next time.
Amazing Food, Amazing Beer, Amazing Atmosphere. The staff here is amazing and was taken care of me. Norman and Richard were both great towards me and made sure that my experience at Lokal was exceptional. The manager, Humberto, also made sure that I was enjoying the food and answered questions that i had about the menu. The food overall is a 10/10 and definitely recommend anyone looking for some great burgers and beer!
I invited my brother to LoKal for his birthday, and he loved the experience! Cassandra, the manager, ensured that we felt extremely welcomed. The burgers were delicious, and my brother was very happy with his birthday song and tasty key lime pie!
Part of the Kush family of restaurants, LoKal hit every bulletin point. The Cubano was prepared with smoked pulled pork and was one of, if not THE best, Cuban sandwiches I've ever had. Great atmosphere and some euphoric twists are sure to leave both your mind and your stomach elevated!
Best Burger I have had in a long time. Super yummy with great service.
What isn't there to like? Great handcrafted, locally sourced food, a variety of cocktails, wines and locally crafted beers, a cozy, welcoming, chill atmosphere with a super friendly staff and all of the included at a fair price. This is a must at any time of day for those looking for a great restaurant in the Miami area.
I went with 3 friends this afternoon. We have all been to all 3 Kush restaurants several times, including this one. Lokal and Cafe Kush are the best IMHO. Three of us had the grassfed Frita with guava jelly, which is our favorite and we can't find it anywhere else. The 4th person had Chicken and Waffles. We all agreed our meals were Delicious! Our drink was Mexican Coke. The service was great and the 90s music was perfect, not too loud. This is a fun place and is casual. Parking is on the street. Wheelchair accessible but no handicapped parking around there. We were so full this time that we didn't order dessert..
Loved the vibe here... super chill place to cool off and their local beer was excellent. I tried the mango Captian Kush and I'd go back for another if I were were to go back to Miami. Staff was very nice and welcoming. The music was great. There's a "time machine booth" and if you go in there at a certain time, you are able to go thru the door to the other side and they make beer smoothies, or shakes, I believe. Very cool. I didn't try it but it sounded yummy! My friend and I hung out and sipped on our drinks and left happy and relaxed!
Low key, retro, old school feel. They had a old school television with the VCR and a bunch of cassettes. My son was intrigued by it, he was able to eject the tape and put it back in. It was nostalgic for me. The food was good, came out quick enough. The staff was attentive and very nice. They have a bar area to sit and enjoy cocktails with a low ambiance. Parking is the only mission, its the grove after all!

The food was good. I wouldn't say it is one of the best hamburgers I ever tried in my life, but they were okay. The service was very good. They were very nice. The day that we went, the weather was pretty nice and we sat outside. They also have a dog menu, which I think is pretty cool, so you can bring your dog and enjoy the atmosphere. It is a good option if you're around and you want a hamburger. It's not cheap.

I am revising my rating downward after my lunch today. I got all inspired as I posted a review earlier today catching up with a backlog of reviews and took myself to Lokal for a turkey burger and sweet potato fries. The server must be new and it was clear she’s still learning. The food was still good but what bothered me is that they now not only put water out and charge you for it without making that clear but they have added a built in 20% gratuity. I probably would have tipped that but I prefer it to be my choice. Lastly, they have moved away from bottomless soda to charging for each one without making customers aware of that change. So all in all, my little turkey burger and Diet Coke ended up costing $37. For a local informal watering hole, that’s ridiculous and I will think twice before returning. What a shame. Prior review: Lokal is my favorite local lunch spot! The burgers are tasty as are the sweet potato fries. My go-to on the menu is the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos. Delicious with a teeny bit of kick. The place is casual and friendly, dogs are welcome and there are bowls with water and dog biscuits always available. Service is great. And they have an excellent selection of craft beers!

Not bad came here with a friend and she ordered the chicken and waffles, she loved them and highly recommends it. I ordered the Frita Burger but it was only ok, the appetizer we had was alligator and that was good as far as the taste of the batter but could have used more meat. The staff is also very nice the environment is great!
Had an early dinner here yesterday. Arrived about 4:30pm. We chose to eat outside which was very nice. Our waitress was Sara. She's great! The ambiance was hip and cool. The music was 90's and early 2000's hip-hop, which we loved! The food was fresh and tasty. We had the BabaBooey Burger with mixed (sweet & white potatoes) truffle fries and the Farmstyle Chicken Sandwich. Delicious!
We came for a dinner with a friend who wanted something "American" so we decided burgers. Lokal has some of the best, we choose the "Frita by Kush" and "The Lokal", it was a great decision, my friend loved the guava and the other enjoyed the actual burger. We also ordered the "Florida Alligator Strips", we totally recommend it, my friend loved them. The service was a little slow to sit us, take the order, bring the utensils and the check. Maybe because it was Jan 2nd but the food and atmosphere totally compensated it.
This has been my go to burger spot in Miami for the last few years. They rank in my top 5. Lokal has a handful of surprisingly good options other than burgers on their menu that I’d recommend such as their Gator Bites, Mexican Chili, and Salmon BLT. They also have a good selection of beers both in the fridge and on tap! My go to is usually their 50/50 burger or the latest Addition to the menu, the bababooey burger which comes with caramelized onions, apple and Brie cheese. It’s sweet, delicious, and awesome! The most popular burger is the Guava Burger. The ambiance gives a 1990s dive bar/hangout spot. It’s a perfect spot to just kick back and enjoy a bite and brew. Service is for the most part, great! You occasionally run into an off day or just a very busy hour which can hinder any staff but overall the staff here is friendly and does a good job. If you’re there, ask for Daisy, she’s one of the managers and she always makes our stay feel very welcomed and taken cared for. She’s a bright spot to this place. The one ripe I have experienced over the past year or so, like most other establishments in Miami, has been the inclusion of an automatic 20% gratuity charges both for in person AND online orders. As much as I agree that the staff should be taken care of for their services, I do believe that this allows for service to not be as high sometimes knowing there is an automatic gratuity included. I’m also not the biggest fan for including auto gratuity on an online order that I physically am just simply going to pick up myself. This could lead to customers looking elsewhere. Overall, Lokal is a staple in the Grove and a very good spot for a very good burger and a beer. Still one of my favorites.
I've been here a few times and the burgers are always good and everyone that works in there is always friendly. My vegetarian friends also say the veggie burgers are excellent so it's great to hear they take care in all areas of their menu.
This place has indoor seating and outdoor seating and we sat outside. I enjoyed the atmosphere. However the burger was underwhelming. My sister ordered the Frita burger and she loved it but it was cold and so were the fries. I ordered the burger with the Brie, bacon and onion and it was meh! And also cold with cold fries. The burger looked like they made no effort when preparing. I really wanted to love this place but I just don’t. I do have to mention that our waiter was super friendly.
The burger was decent, but didn't wow me. The salad was also good. Unfortunately, they don't accept Apple Pay, so they'll have to take your credit card inside, which I'm not a fan of, especially since I've had issues with that in the past at a different place.
We came for a late lunch/early dinner. There was seating outside which was a nice vibe. Staff was really kind, we were served by a wonderful lady who was chatty and welcoming. They have plenty of options on the menu but I was slightly disappointed with the burgers. They were okay, neither amazing nor bad, just okay. The chips were a bit disappointing but the sweet potato chips were good. I do agree with the other reviews in that the 20% service charge/tip is pretty cheeky.

I have been a client for years. Today I went again. 4 Burgers, 3 beers and 1 desert. Plus tip. $163? They finally lost their minds. 10 other much nicer places where to eat for that kind of money in the Grove. Keeping names out not to cross the line, For an extra $1 I’ll have a much better burger at a very nice place on the water. Better everything! Please don’t turn the Grove into a tourist trap. The locals have always kept the Grove alive, and we don’t need tourists leaving with a negative impression of this unique place. I know this sounds very rough, but it’s intended as feed back.
This rating is being left due to the fact that I drove over a half hour to have lunch here as I really wanted a burger. It stated online they open at 12pm. I even called on the way to them and arrived 12:08pm, It’s now 1pm and they’re still not open (I know this because I ate across the street). I do hope everything is okay however I tried calling the main line and even reaching out on Instagram. Was sad to make the commute all the way here to not be able to dine in with them :(
The burger was good but it took about 30min to get the burger coming. Also when I arrived an open glass bottle of water was placed on the table and when about to pay the bill I realized that I was charged $1 for it. I personally didn't ask for this and didn't even drink it at all. The waiter said it was their way to do with everybody. I refused to pay for this and they agreed. I overall paid $35 for 1 burger + 1 beer. How is it possible to charge $1 for a maybe tap water which was not even asked for. Plus service was way too long.
We gave LoKal a second try while searching a great burger in town. After a long wait, our burgers came out overcooked. The manager was nice and offered to redo them, but after such a long wait l, it didn’t feel like a legitimate gesture of attention. Hopefully the experience improves next time.
The hype is NOT real. Im not saying this place is bad but its not that great either. The fish dip and chips were really good and came out quick but it stops there. My wife orders a burger and I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich. While the app came out quick the rest of our food came out like almost 50 minutes later. They also ran out of fries. The food over all was okay but imo not worth the price.
Was very exited to come back because burgers are delicious but they added 20% of gratuity for party of 2 and charged us $1 for water we never asked for. I had no problem paying that but I don’t think I’ll be coming back there.
Lokal is a great spot when you are in the mood for a proper, satisfying burger. The hamburgers are excellent, juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The fried chicken burger is also a standout, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of food that truly hits the spot when you want something indulgent and comforting. The place itself is very casual, relaxed, and unpretentious. It’s not trying to be fancy, and that works in its favor. The atmosphere feels laid-back and local, making it a good option for a chill meal with friends or a no-frills bite. The staff has an interesting attitude, informal, direct, and very much in line with the overall vibe of the place. It may not be classic polished service, but it feels authentic and fits the personality of Lokal. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a casual, tasty junk food meal done right. If you are craving a great burger in a relaxed setting, Lokal definitely delivers.

Staff was very inattentive, short, and unwelcoming. Wasn’t asked a single time how the food was and was left for long periods without being checked on. Finished the whole meal before our server (Nic) came back so we couldn’t even let him know that the food wasn’t great either. Started with the guacamole which tasted old and was an incredibly underwhelming portion size for $15. Fried pickles were alright, but nothing special at all. Burgers tasted decent enough but we ordered them medium rare and they were definitely over cooked. Fries were average. Never had the chance to ask for more napkins when we needed them because the servers were not around. When a lady brought our glass of wine, she just stared at the ground the whole time and responded with a cold sounding “yes” after we said thank you. Just an incredibly unwelcoming experience from all staff. Very disappointed since this place has such good reviews. My husband and I work in the service industry and try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but there really was no reason to go back here.

Although we didn’t have to wait to be seated, and the service was mediocre, the food was subpar. We ordered the alligator bites and the burgers. The alligator bites were just okay, and the burgers were a huge disappointment. At the price point, the burger meat should be high quality. There was no seasoning, the meat tasted like it was previously frozen, and the lettuce used on our burgers had brown parts. Also, I would’ve appreciated being informed that they were no fountain drinks because I was not expecting to pay premium for a bottled Sprite. To add insult to injury, we had to pay $12+ for parking for such an unpleasant meal—will not be back.
The burger was good. Not something amazing but good quality. The service was absolutely horrible. I had to wait for half an hour for my burger and ask three times to bring me a canned beer. On top of that they charge you a 20% tip without even asking.
The first thing you should know is that in Lokal they will charge you for the water they bring you without asking. My advice is to check the glasses before drinking. With the water, they brought me one that was still stained with someone else’s lipstick. The burgers are ok but a bit expensive for the size and quality. My friends ordered ‘My childhood dream’ and it turned out to be a very small burguer for the same price. The side fries were extremely salty. They don’t have regular sodas or beers. In addition to all of that, we paid (3 people) a gratuity of almost 20 dollars for a service that was not the best either.
I use to love this place. The burgués are really good but since the owner pretend that customer pay for the employees medical insurance and theirs salary charging extra fees, it’s really disrespectful and abusive.

The service was terrible. We ordered two beers, an app and two burgers. The burgers were dropped off and nobody checked on us. Mind you we sat at the bar. We had no beer or water while we ate and then they tagged us with 20% gratuity for service we didn’t receive. Our bill was $100… The fries were tasty but each one was like a 1/2 inch, clearly the scraps from the bottom of the bag Bummer I remember this place being good but we won’t go back.
The hype surrounding this burger spot is definitely overblown. The burgers themselves were disappointing—lacking flavor and definitely not worth the high price tag. That said, the service was good, and the terrace seating area was decent, providing a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the reputation or the cost. Wouldn’t go back.

LoKal in Coconut Grove is not what it use to be. DO NOT come here. Meat wasn't cooked to order. Childhood Dream burger was ordered and a depressingly thin burger was served. Took one bite and immediately chewed into a small rubbery piece what one would normally assume is cartilage. After eating one sweet potato fry and taking one bite of the burger, I returned my order to the waiter explaining the reason. My friend ordered a Miami Blues and the burger was not cooked to order either. Priced at $16, this is NOT a place to have a burger anymore. To quote my friend, "The burger was mighty shiity." 😆 And STILL they brought the tab charging for the burger I returned. Management at this establishment has gone to shii. DO NOT COME HERE. Other than not removing the Childhood Dream from the tab, to the waiter was understanding. We were really looking forward to a quality burger... We were both left saying to ourselves, "We should have gone to Flannigan's" 😐 Oh, and the indoor area smelled like the filthy floor rug of an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. It's as if they used a floor rag to wipe the counter tops of the bar. Aight, I'm done speaking truth ✌🏻
The food was so disappointing, fried pickles had barely any breading on them so it was pretty much just dipping pickles into sauce, the alligator strips had sooo much breading that was all you could taste. When I finally pulled the breading off and found the alligator it was this tiny little piece of meat. The burgers were severely different than the pictures and descriptions. Also, $10 for 2 cans of soda..? Why? Honestly it sounded so good and the only reason we ate it was because it was late and we weren’t trying to find another place. Based on the way our stomachs felt this morning… I wish we hadn’t. The only thing that was good about this place was the service when we picked up our order, the lady who helped us was very nice and helpful.
