Franco di Roma is praised for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Customers highlight the enjoyable ambiance and delicious pizza. Some suggest improvements to the meat and salads.
Tip: Franco's is great for large events. The pizza is highly recommended.
If you are looking for amazing pizza and authentic Italian and you are near 357 NY-211, Middletown, NY 10940, you need to check this place out. Amazing is an understatement. Check them out ASAP.
Franco’s Pizza is a great spot with a lot of character! The place is huge, making it perfect for big events like weddings or sweet 16s. Franco himself is always welcoming and brings a fun, upbeat energy to the place. The best Italian pizza in town! Made with real Italian hands..The vibe and atmosphere are consistently great. I really appreciate the easy parking and was pleasantly surprised to find glass bottle sodas on the menu. Overall, it's a solid spot for a casual meal or a larger celebration! I brought my nephews from Philly and they said Franco Di Roma is the best in the Hudson valley! (FYI went to 3 different pizza spots so at this point we got 2 slices here and cut it in half) if you seen the video.. 5 out of 5 pizza
We really enjoyed having our dinner there. Good food, friendly owner, welcoming place and convenient location.
Excellent Service. The food was hot and delicious. Price was fair. Wine selection is amazing. I was invited to a wedding at this restaurant and I really recommend it.
Wonderful local place for a delicious dinner! When all the chain restaurants were packed and on a wait, we found a little gem and enjoyed our dinner. We will be back for sure!
Great family owned restaurant. Food is delicious service spot on, atmosphere is like going to a friend’s house….. please see the pictures they tell the story…. Delicious!!!!!
Simple Traditional Italian dishes with some American touches. A real comfort food with familiar menu like from an Italian ‘mama’ ‘s kitchen. The dinner main course served with a choice of soup or salad. I took pasta (spaghetti) with garlic and oil with added shrimps. The portion was generous. It might need some more salt and pepper but it was my personal taste. The waitress was very kind.
Authentic and great food, hard to find menu items. Staff is very friendly and helpful! John was above and beyond amazing. Kids are happy so I'm happy!
My first time visiting since the remodel was wonderful! The food and service were exceptional as always. I would 100% recommend to anyone in the area.
Best pizza in the area. Also had the fried calamari and chicken parmigiana, which were amazing. Super friendly staff, the owner is wonderful. A must go to place!
Great real Italian authentic food, friendly and quick service, great prices! The garlic parmesano wings are very tasty, crispy outside and juicy inside well seasoned!
Franco is the best. I eat here 5 days a week. Everything I try is always amazing
My favorite pizza and Italian food in the area. Franco’s is a jewel of a restaurant and Franco himself, along with his lovely wife, are terrific hosts. The Calzone is the best anywhere! His meatballs and sausage with pasta and red sauce fantastic.
Best pizza I've had in Orange County hands down. People are extremely friendly and service is quick. They treat you like family from the moment you walk in. Franco is a real Italian heart
Franco Di Roma has the best pizza and Italian dishes around hands down!!! Beautiful atmosphere and the friendliest staff. You will not be disappointed. Check them out! ❤️🍕
Great customer service and amazing delivery by Matthew. I was there Saturday for a holiday event and the food was amazing. I also ordered for a holiday department party and they were reliable and accommodating. Thank you so much.
Great place! Great slice, good sevice. Stop in sometime!
Great little Italian gem off the beaten path. Not a lot of people know of it. Pizza was excellent. Perfect service. Very reasonable prices. I will definitely be returning. Ottimo lavoro!
Catered a party from them. Trays had very generous portions. Delivery was on time during a snow storm!!! Franco was very helpful & kind. Will definitely recommend & use again!!!
I notice people always take the time to leave a bad review, but hardly any take the the time to leave a good review. Franco's staff is one of the nicest around. The ambience is better than any other italian restaurant. The place is always clean, and the italian music makes you feel like you've walked through a transport to Italy. The food is great and reasonably priced, and the pizza is one of the best north of the city. I highly recommend this place for a night out to dinner with the family, or if you just want to grab the best slice of pizza around. Most places nowadays cut their business costs by using cheaper ingredients which always makes a difference in the taste and quality, and for as long as Franco's has been around, I've never noticed the change in taste or quality. This is probably the reason he is still in business while most other places in Middletown are open for a few yrs and fail. His food is consistent and always hits the spot. If i could give it an extra star, I would.
The food was excellent i have met good staff but their staff was beyond believable it's like every time we needed something staff was right there. Prices were easy to bear during these times well worth it.
the pizza is incredible. I got the chicken pasta as well which was excellent. I will drive 30 min out of my way to get pizza here.
Absolutely the best fast food place I have ever eaten at. First time at any hardees. This hardees in particular is extremely clean very professional and courteous staff. I even thanked them before leaving for the great food and service. Food was EXCELLENT! all other food chains can learn from hardees and hardees staff. Thank you for a great experience , we will be back
Always the best quality pizza. If you love thin crust the best ingredients come here. Franco, the owner is one of the nicest and friendliest people.
We recently attended a birthday party here. There's a room in the back for a small gathering. The food was really fantastic. From the moment we walked in, until the time we left, we were treated like family. They served incredible salad, antipasto, baked ziti, penne with broccoli, chicken parm, eggplant parm, and, of course, Italian bread. The food was so good we decided to grab a pizza the next day to bring home.
Awesome slice! We ordered plain slices and they did not disappoint. Franco's makes a great NY style pizza. Big thin slices perfect for folding. Simple and delicious. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese on a nice crispy crust. Yum!
This is one of our favorite pizza places in town. The owner works hard and the pizza is thin crust, balanced sauce, and quality cheese. I think a regular cheese pie is a difficult food to get just right, and Franco Di Roma's is consistently excellent.
Franco Di Roma is my go to restaurant when my wife and I go out to dinner. Although all items on the menu are cooked to perfection, and I've tried them all, my go to is Chicken Francese with capers. If you're in the mood for a drink, Frank has you covered! Family and friends, if you're in Middletown NY and looking for fantastic pizza, meatball hero or anything good to eat, this is the place! ~ easily 5 stars
We had my MIL’s 70th at Franco’s and it was wonderful. The staff were so kind and helpful, the food was delicious (one of the best red sauces I’ve ever had!) and having a private room was perfect! Couldn’t have asked for a better venue!
Great pizza and amazing food. Had my father's 50th b-day catered here and it was amazing. Al makes a superb pizza and the owner is one of the most genuine guys you will ever meet. They treat you like family there, which is rare nowadays.
Came home all the way from Texas for the holidays, Franco's being the third pizza place we visited since we got here. Not only did he make my husband and I feel welcomed, but he didn't turn us away or rush us to order when we came in 15 minutes til closing. Great conversation, great pizza, great service! Franco is the real deal!
My family and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with a catered luncheon for my sister's baby shower! Franco, along with his staff, did an outstanding job catering to our needs both prior and during the event. From someone who works in the hospitality industry- the level of service, warm-heartedness, and overall demeanor that Franco DI Roma provided was exceptional. We arrived about 2 hours early to set-up, and was sincerely greeted by Franco and his staff. While placing our finishing touches around the room, we requested an additional table and for a couple of tables to be moved around. Franco dropped everything he was doing to assist! Not something you typically see from an owner. The staff allowed us to enjoy the time we had with the group, yet kept an open channel of communication which resulted in a flawless timeline of events. The food was amazing! I asked for a Vegan option, and Franco discussed the alternative meals the kitchen could prepare for me. He even offered to prepare a small dish for my 8 month old daughter! The group enjoyed a hot buffet meal, and all the leftovers (enough to feed an army!) were packaged up for us to take home. I cannot put into words how happy we are with the hospitable service Franco Di Roma had provided!
Fantastic pasta (including GF) and simple homemade marinara was delicious! We dropped in late and had family-like service from one of the owners. White tablecloths and an Italian soundtrack added to the overall experience. Don’t miss this place!
This place is great it has the old-school pizzeria vibes from when I was a kid. Pizza sauce is great! You already know if you can make a good sauce everything else is on point. Try the pizza for sure and try the garlic knots can't go wrong.
Best Italian Restaurant in the area! The food is always fresh, and well seasoned. I'm a huge fan of the eggplant parmagiana, baked ziti, and we can't forget about the garlic knots. What makes the food even better, is the cleanliness and hospitality for Mr. Franco. I've ordered close or past their closing time (I was unaware the hours changed) yet, Mr. Franco was accommodating and still made sure my meal was just as delicious. Thank you for the wonderful service and great meal selections.
Absolutely the best food and service we have had in a long time. My husband and I were treated like family. Thank you to the young man that served us, he truly made our dinner special.
No rush to eat and finish here! No in and out like chain restaurants. Relax, have another drink. Enjoy your great food. Everyone there will make you feel like family. Great homemade tasting food. Kids of all ages welcome here too. Franco used to send my mother food when she had terminal cancer. At one point, all she was able to eat was his chicken noodle soup. That made her so happy, and she really enjoyed it. Go, bring the kids, relax and enjoy!
Franco himself offers homemade traditional italian dishes with a warm smile for everyone that walks through his door. Fresh canoli, pasta and signature pizzas are hand crafted and served with attention to detail. From the soup to espresso, you will taste the love and care he puts in each menu item.
Our family celebrated my moms 93rd birthday at Franco di Romas & we had an absolutely lovely time. Meal was great. Service was wonderful. Thank you so much for providing us with a memorable evening. We will certainly pass on our recomendation & Hope to be back soon. Thank you again
What a hidden gem! This beautiful restaurant has amazing food and an incredibly friendly owner. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, particularly for out-of-towers…The locals already know. Thanks again for an awesome lunch, Franco!! See you again soon!!
Yesterday we celebrated my parent's anniversary party at Francos. The food was yummy and the service was great! They always checked in to make sure everything was going well. Tammy and Britney were beyond helpful and Karen was great! Definitely dont hesitate to book your next party there!
From California and visiting this place for the first time😀. I had a good experience at Franco’s restaurant 👏. Franco was great!! the services was just perfect, on time and delicious 😋 Franco was very flexible with each of our orders.. I will highly recommend this place🍕 🥗 💕.
Get the personal chicken parm. 🍕, Awesome service 😁😁
Best place in the area to get a great italian meal. From a pizza pie to any one of their wonderful dinners including soup or salad and fresh bread. The service is terrific. I've never had a server that didn't go above and beyond to make my families experience a great one.
Franco is one of the most personal business owners that I know. I go there just for him.
visiting through with the family and stopped by for some good food. everything was absolutely great all the way from customer service to the food. want a nice place to try make this your spot. we will be back.
Food was delicious and portions were big. The server was very friendly and accommodating to the kids in the group with food allergies. Excellent service!
We had our daughter’s baptism celebration here. The food was delicious the staff was wonderful and helpful. I would come back for any party in the future!
The food was fresh, not canned or frozen like you get at the chain restaurants. It was absolutely delicious. The service was great and I love the atmosphere. The owner Karen even sat down and chatted with us. Franco was very friendly. The wait staff was wonderful. I highly recommend this mom-and-pop restaurant. You will not be disappointed! EAT HERE!
Let me start by saying this was one of the more pleasant dining experiences I have ever had. I was returning from a trip with my girlfriend from Otsego County and we are both huge fans of "Restaurant Impossible" and wanted to check this place out along our way home to Long Island. It was the Monday after Easter and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. We both recognized the owner, Franco, immediately. He sat us right away in the beautiful dining area and brought out our entrees. I was very impressed that the owner was waiting on us, and he did an amazing job. Franco couldn't have been more friendly and personable. We asked him about his experience on "Restaurant Impossible" and he was very forthcoming and honest. It was fascinating to hear his side. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal, maybe the best penne garlic and oil with chicken I have ever had. My girlfriend also absolutely loved her meal. The place has an old school Italian restaurant vibe to it and Franco gives it added personality. We will absolutely return on our next trip through Orange County. Keep up the great work, Franco!!
We had Chicken Marcelas, Zupa de Pesce and baked Macaroni. Everything was delicious and the staff was warm and welcoming. It was our first time eating there and we plan to go back.
So, I stopped by what looked like a regular pizzeria to find that this place is a restaurant and pizzeria. The pizza was great and the garlic knots were soft and full of that wonderful garlic flavor. I would recommend stopping by this surprisingly good spot. Oh and they have a full bar and wine.
I have been coming here since I was 18 years old , I am now in my late 30's . I have never had a bad pizza or any food from here , ever. They have the best slices ! And Franco has always been so polite and just a warm individual to encounter. Very welcoming atmosphere, I've never felt uncomfortable going in and ordering and sitting down to eat. Love this place .
great food always, great service, BEST penne al a vodka i've ever had, any one that says any different is lying and doesn't know what food is let alone ITALIAN food
Have lived in area for 35 years & have never been. So glad we finally did. The food was great. Large portions & delicious. Our waiter, who I think was the owner, was fantastic . We had a not too happy baby w us & he was beyond accommodating. Will definitely go again.
The owner, Franco, has expressed gratitude to me each time I come to order lunch from him while I work with my Irish godfather Liam Byrne and John Brown who does landscaping.
Just had my son's graduation party at Franco's this afternoon. The process was easy and everything was taken care of from start to finish. The food on the buffet was cooked perfectly, service was amazing, and the staff was friendly. If I could give more than 5 stars I would for sure. Remember to support small family owned restaurants as they are part of the backbone of our community.
Everything was great. Portions were so generous. We had enough to save for lunch the next day. Had to have dessert and so happy we did. The tiramisu tasted homemade. All the staff was so nice and personable. Definitely our new favorite Italian spot.
We haven't been to Franco's in over six years, due to our move out of the area. It was redone inside and so nice! Franco's menu was concise and yet offered our favorites. Excellent food. Everything was tasty and fresh and plentiful. Good food. Good memories. Bon Appetit!
We had our wedding reception dinner there this weekend. Frank and his staff were absolutely wonderful! We had a small intimate event. Everything was wonderful. Food was fantastic. We enjoyed the the food and the atmosphere so very much. Thank you all!
Franco’ sauces are remarkable, his pasta dishes world class. Yesterday for dinner, K had stuffed shells. They exceeded expectation, subtly spiced and rich. Our salads were fresh and wonderful, accompanied by Franco’s balsamic house dressing (he also sells it by the bottle). But the best part was my simple sausage and pepper sub. I think it’s partly Franco’s sourcing- the sausage, like the balsamic vinegar and the fore-mentioned sauces, is definitely not your grocery store ordinary. And that’s what makes Franco’s extraordinary.
I had a lovely crispy chicken Cesar Salad today. It was fabulousThe waitress was fantastic. I would eat there again. The place was very clean. I was pleased with the entire experience.
This was our first time at this place. The atmosphere from the beginning, you get into the restaurant is amazing, a sir giving you a good welcome making you feel like home. Then a waitresses really kind and sweet. You don't have to wait so long, and the food and prices are simply spectacular. No doubt I will be back.
We always order take out from here when I am downstate visiting family and it never disappoints! Mussels appetizer is my absolute favorite, and they offer great gluten free options like pizza and pasta. Franco and staff are always very friendly when I go in to pickup order and it is always ready in quoted time.
I LOVED MICHELLE who was gracious enough to ask the chef if you could make me chicken piccata which was not on the menu to my surprise they were able to accommodate me and it was DELICIOUS! Salad was fresh, but was not a fan of the house balsamic dressing, thankfully, Michelle put it on the side aka had brought me the oil and vinegar I initially asked for. The decor is a bit dated but the food was very good.
A casual large place that can cater for events located on a mall car park. The food is simple and ample. The service is very nice.
My parents really like this place. It is very good with a friendly staff. I don't give it 5 stars because the term very good is what it is. I have never had anything that blows me away, but also never anything but a good experience.
It was my first time here. The food was good, although the wait was very long considering there weren't that many dine-ins. I would definitely try again.
Liked this place more than just pizza . Restaurant side is lovely the food is good Italian food with a nice variety. Perfect local place for a good family dinner. Waite staff attentive and have returned a few times! Priced reasonable !
Food was very good sauces little bit on the thin side and somewhat sweeter than I'm accustomed to an Italian restaurants but overall it was a very enjoyable meal. Pasta was cooked al dente and sausage was quite tasty. Prices were very reasonable. Great place to take a family
Nice pizzeria and restaurant. Service was good, food was good. Personal pizza was really good. Portions were large.
Since the makeover by Restaurant Impossible, their menu has been SIGNIFICANTLY cut back, and is all new. None of the old items are available. The new menu is delicious, just very small. The updated dining area is nice, but has no sound dampening, so it gets loud even if there aren't a lot of people. I still recommend it for the tasty unique menu though.
Muy bueno
I wanted see how this place was since remodel it wasn’t busy. Just walked in took seat. I wanted pizza and salad he said I have go in other room eat for pizza it not customers job to know wheee to seat and also there were no other customers the price seem high. I got pan pizza the taste was ok nothing write home about If you are looking for nice slice and food try another place
Great portion size for your money and the people are friendly. It's a good Italian restaurant in Middletown, the pizza was top notch 👌
UPDATE: returned today, 3/8/20, for dinner and a basically empty restaurant. The food was enjoyable, however it seems if you pay by card, you are charged an additional 03.25%. Not cool! Arrived at about 4:30pm, on a sunday and immediately surprised that there were not more customers. When we left, there were only three other tables. I can only attest this to the location, in a plaza off the main road. The place is somewhat dated and could definately use an interior facelift. In all fairness though, i have eaten in places with little ambiance and great food and places with terrific ambiance and poor food. Cheerfull traditional italian music lightly playing in the background for our enjoyment. We found ourselves singing softly to many songs. We ordered several appetizers. The mussels, i felt were small, but well prepared. The bruschetta very much to my liking. Garlic lovers should ask for more garlic when ordering. Clams were nice, soups tasty and the bread fresh. The veal picante was traditionally prepared like ive had in so many other places. Not to deter from the quality of the veal or the flavor. The penne ala vodka is the allstar and must be asked to be made properly with prosciutto or it will be prepared to accommodate a vegetarian diet. In my experiences, it is becoming more difficult to find an eatery that is making this correctly. Our waitress was polite , cheerful and shared the humor of the table with us. The service was fine but again, there was a limited amount of customers, i cant judge what the performance might be or the wait times for food, under more arduous circumstances. I look forward to going back for a second try, but would like to see more patrons when i do. For now , i would give a 3.5 and if the service and food shine on my next visit, hopefully when busy, i would raise to a 4.
Fairly standard pizzaria/Italian restaurant combination. The food was good but not spectacular, the facility clean and decently maintained. I'd have given 3.5 stars if I could but the table service was lackluster at best (4:15 P.M. and only one other table with 4 people) so they got rounded down to 3.
Very unhappy with new menu and a la carte style. Service has declined and if they were trying to improve quality they have fallen short will not be returning any time soon unless they go back to old menu and quality of food and service. This use to be my favorite place to go for quality old fashion Italian food served with a smile.
Staple to the area. Not in the best location but people go here because the food is good. They serve pizza as well as a full menu of Italian food. They do also have desserts, wine and I think a few beers on tap. Can get busy. They do have pick up if you want to take it to go. Service can be slow but the owner Franco is very nice. They also cater.
Great food- but service could’ve been better. Entrees were brought out 30 minutes apart which is odd to me. In addition server told me my card wasn’t working- upon calling my bank they informed me this establishment was typing in the wrong CVV number which is why it was declined. The card was perfectly fine and active. Again the food was great but they should work on entrees coming out closer together.
I’m so disappointed with the penne alla vodka. It doesn’t even have any sauce, no cheese, and worse no flavor!! Very watered down no fresh vegetables. I was hoping that this Italian restaurant would have a great vodka dish, but I was mistaken. Absolutely not worth $19! I ordered through door dash wish I would’ve ordered somewhere else.
Went there once. The food was alright but the service was horrible. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks alone. Even after complaining they made no attempt to improve the service. We spoke with Franco and he apologized saying he had a party going on. I'm not sure why that should affect my dining experience. He made no attempt to fix the evening or ensure our return so we never did.
Very small slice of pizza for the price. Embarrassing.
What a shame. Once a favorite spot, probably will not go back. I have never been to an Italian restaurant that didnt give you bread and a salad. I hope they undo the damage done. Reno was very nice. I am sad. Menu too limited, also.
Mucha harina, falta mejorar Las carnes y ensaladas
Very unfriendly, large dinning area that they would not let you sit in. The people working were very miserable. Not a place I would ever go again. They obviously didn’t take the good advice from the tv show Restaurant Impossible!!!! Such a disappointment:(
One and Done ! Stopped in to pick up a Sicilian pizza with sausage , I figured I would try a local establishment. I essentially received a pizza made the prior day as when I went to the counter to pick it up I observed as they were removing it from the oven that it was already pre sliced , you don’t have to go to Harvard to figure this one out ! It certainly tasted like a day old made pie and it did not have that crispy texture that you always get with a fresh made pie . No shortage of pizzerias around , this one will be promptly deleted from future choices .
Ordered dinner there last week with DoorDash. I got a 12 piece buffalo wings and was shocked when I opened the container and found them nearly completely dry. There was maybe half a teaspoon of watery sauce at the bottom and two soupy pieces of lettuce draped on top. The wings were plain fried wings and tasted overwhelmingly of peanut oil. Thinking it was maybe just a bad night, we gave them another shot this evening. I got a chicken parm sandwich and garlic knots. The knots were completely blackened, which rendered them inedible. The sandwich was incredibly sparsely filled. The chicken was paper thin, there was hardly any cheese, and as a result it was basically bread with sauce. Twice is too many wasted attempts for me. Not ordering again.
Ordered a large cheese pizza and a cheese calzone to go, husband got there about 5 mins prior to the time we were told it would be ready. He waited several minutes for anyone to even acknowledge he was even there. Not the most friendly people running the restaurant. Then found the order was already done and sitting on top of pizza oven. To our surprise, crust was burnt on pizza and calzone probably should have been baked a little longer (had to finish baking calzone in my oven) Will NOT ever go again!!!
I went in to Inquire about lunch after funeral service. The woman who was taking the order was just rude and disinterested so much in fact that I walked out and chose Tony Boffas to give my business of lunch for 60 people. Tony Boffas even opened up on their day off to accommodate us which I am super appreciative. That's the customers service that I expect and am use too. They have been in business much longer than Franco Di Roma and yet was very accommodating. The things that surprised me the most was after speaking to a few people I realized that the rude woman was not a staff but the owners wife. Lastly the few times that I ate there the food was inconsistent.
Nah fam! I went inside one day and the pizza behind the glass looked so old the crust was bending up at the corners of each slice like a G4 private luxury jet. Terrible, and I even said to myself let me order and see if he grabs the pizza I’m looking at or will he surprise me a grad one that was baked b4 9/11. Nope, he went for the private jet slices in front of me 🤢no thanks! If I want vintage pizza I will dig some out of my freezer.
First off, this place has zero atmosphere. It's like eating in someone's spare bedroom. Next, the food is terrible. I ordered a tossed salad that was not tossed at all. Everything was separate on its own quadrant of the plate. The house dressing tastes like honey mustard that somebody left out in the sun for 7 days. It was God awful. And the pizza was almost inedible. It was probably the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I'm not sure why this place is still open. Then again, I was there on a Saturday night, and there were only four other patrons. No wonder. If you're thinking of taking a chance on this place, don't. You'll thank me later.
DON’T BOOK AN EVENT HERE! Someone else posted a similar review here and I wish I would have read it before we did. We had our staff holiday party at this place this week. It was horrible and ruined every bit of holiday joy we were trying to experience. When we arrived at our scheduled time the room was dark, cold and there were some empty tables shoved in the corner for us. We were not welcomed and told “You're going to have to wait in the cafe, we’re not ready.” This was our greeting. We watched as the especially rude owner Karen, scowling through the entire experience, got linens and glasses and threw settings together. “You can come in now.” The heat was never turned on, the room was stark, and what continued was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Karen rushed in and out of the room to put things on the table and disappeared for long periods of time, there was no food on the buffet. No kind words were exchanged, just this surly woman coming into the room and throwing things down and leaving. Food finally came and Karen served it from the buffet and then disappeared again for a long time. No one knew what to do to get more so people got up to get it themselves, and Karen came running out of the kitchen, snapping at our staff “You can’t do that!” She ultimately explained that it’s against health code (?) OK, but there’s a way to talk to people. Especially to people who chose her restaurant to celebrate the holiday. At the end we sat there waiting to go and I had to go wandering around trying to find Karen so I could settle the bill. The dark-haired waitress serving the rest of the restaurant (only one or two tables filled) was equally as rude. “What do you want?” she yelled! Unbelievable. Karen showed up with the check, said nothing - just came up to me and shoved it toward me. Had the nerve to add an $80 tip to the bill. This review can’t even come close to conveying the terrible atmosphere and treatment we received. We were made to feel like a complete imposition into their day. And when I tried to discuss it later with Karen she made excuses, says she takes pride in her restaurant (really?) and did not even acknowledge their awful attitude and service. There’s clearly a problem there, and none of us will EVER go back.
Very, very disappointed. Had a friend order a family size ziti, salad, bread and brownies to the tune of $75 inc a $5 delivery charge for a death in our family. When delivered we were informed the tip wasn’t inc. when our girlfriend called to check on the food we were honest enough to tell her only a spoonful was taken out because the sauce tasted raw. When she called to complain the owner said the best they could do was deliver another tray but it would have to be baked ziti and they wanted the other tray back. No problem. When the deliver person came (9pm) he was extremely rude. We said nothing but the second tray was worse and still sits untouched. Very sad that what she thought would be a stress free meal during a stressful time turned into a bigger pain for my mom. Shame on them.
Trying to make a reservation was worst than getting teeth pulled at the dentist. Was transfer to ‘a higher-up’ to see if my reservation request could be accommodated and was greeted with an abrasive woman who was throughly annoyed by my call. I am beside myself with their lack of professionalism.
Smelled like urine as I approached the bathrooms. Also charges $2.50 for a small bottle of off brand water (Crystal Geyser)?!
Sat on the “dining” side and I was told you are not allowed to get a large pie, they only allow you to eat personal pies on that side of the restaurant. If you want to eat a large pie, you have to move your seat and go to the “cafe” side which is on the right with small tables. We said those tables don’t have enough space for us and our child. They told us they would make an exception, and we waited for an hour to receive a cold pie that was cut up with four slices on two different trays. It honestly looked like they heated up eight slices and just threw them on the trays instead of making a fresh pizza. Me and my fiance really tried giving this place the benefit of the doubt but we were let down
This once was a pretty good place to eat, and it could be much better with some care and motivation. Right now, it suffers from very slow service, average food, and a couple of waitresses who seem distracted, annoyed, or as if they have much better things to do than take your order. Menu prices are about what you might expect. Takeout people get prioritized, it seems, along with large parties in dining areas. If you enjoy often over-baked pizza, limp and warm salad, lukewarm and watery soup, cold and dry pasta, rock hard bread, off-tasting cheese and sauce, and being ignored for extended stretches while listening to a questionably eclectic blend of musical selections, I can very highly recommend this place. Otherwise, consider other dining options.
Never thought I would have gotten Food poisoning. What a terrible experience. Had the Pork Parmigiana. Waited 40 minutes for our dinner. For an Italian restaurant I expected at least bread on the table. Also the penne alla vodka was very bland. We had such high expectations especially since the new renovation and having Chef Gordon Ramsay assist with the establishment. As we try to support our local businesses in our area. It's unfortunate we will not return to this restaurant.
