This was my first time trying LuNello’s in Cedar Grove, NJ, and I must say it exceeded my expectations! I’ve passed by this restaurant many times but never stopped in until now and I’m so glad I did. The ambiance and décor are beautiful, warm, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were spot on the Lychee Martini was made to perfection, and the Espresso Martini was just as good. The appetizers were fresh and flavorful, and the entrées came in generous portions. The risotto was absolutely outstanding hands down the best risotto I’ve ever had! We made sure to save room for dessert, and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding completely stole the show it left us speechless. What we ordered: • Calamari • Fresh Oysters • Risotto di LuNello • Chicken Martini • Pappardelle Porcini • White Chocolate Bread Pudding Drinks: • Lychee Martini • Espresso Martini Overall, an amazing dining experience from start to finish. I can’t wait to return!

Always great service and always fresh food! Prime bone in shell steak is better here than any other steakhouse around. A shot of hot chicken noodle broth starts your exceptional dinning experience in this fine family establishment.

My wife and I First time here. From start to finish top quality service. Food presentation was great the two Bartenders Were so polite and welcoming very knowledgeable of the Menu. Soft shell crab was delicious short rib was so tender. The ambiance is nice. We Highly recommend to everyone. Definitely coming back.

This place is amazing. Its atmosphere gives Hollywood of Cedar Grove, LuBar cranks out the best mezcal negroni's and oh my, the food. Everything is 11/10. Pork Chop, amazing. Filet Mignon, out of this world. Tuna Tartare, you joking me? Their seafood dishes are phenomenal, especially the weekly specials.

Had the pleasure of dining at Lu Nello’s for one of my best friends graduation dinner and the experience was unbelievable! Upon driving in you’re greeted by the valet driver which was perfect as it was raining. Was seated right away and greeted by our server who was super attentive the entire night making sure that we had everything we wanted. We all ordered appetizers, meals, drinks, and dessert, all of which were delicious. I specifically ordered the Insalata Giardino, Peachy Martini, Pollo al Forno, Spinaci, and Crème Brûlée. The salad had the perfect amount of oil and vinegar where you could taste it in every bite but wasn’t soggy. The chicken was super tender and well seasoned along with the veggies & mash. The peachy martini was super refreshing and not TOO strong which can happen with martinis. The creme brûlée was the best way to end the meal, extremely creamy with berries that were fully ripe. Overall, we definitely enjoyed dining at Lu Nello’s and would recommend it for anyone trying to celebrate a special occasion or person in their lives.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Lu Nello Restaurant tonight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The Italian food was nothing short of amazing—each dish was crafted with precision and full of authentic flavors that truly transported us to Italy. This restaurant is not only a great place to enjoy a delicious meal but also perfect for conversation. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between being lively and relaxed, allowing us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our waiter, Mario, was exceptional—his attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our evening even more enjoyable. Roberto, another member of the staff, was also very attentive and helpful, ensuring that everything was just right. Overall, Lu Nello exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch Italian cuisine and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be returning!

full disclosure; for the past 5 years I have never been a fan. I always felt it was over rated and over priced. I know people love this place but I never got it. Tonight I had the pork chop with a side of pasta with Bolognese sauce and it was excellent, really enjoyed the meal. The service is always the best and always good looking women. Had a really nice evening.

So many good things to say about this restaurant and the meal. Each dish was well prepared, and we had plenty of leftover to take home (though that was not the goal). It is a large menu, though I felt the wine choices were more limited than the menu. Our server was excellent. We will certainly dine here again.

Friends who had been there seven years ago spoke very highly of it. Unfortunately, last week we did not have that same experience. In general, it felt like the servers were doing us a favor. There was some attitude, certainly not responsiveness to things and the food was OK or a little bit better than OK but that was it. That was our first time there and we will not be going back.

Food was ok and people watching was elite. Cant for the life of me understand how this place of all places didn’t use espresso in their espresso martini?! You can get a nespresso for $70 at target yet they choose to use cold brew concentrate???? Service was kinda bizarre, forgot a bunch of things — why not just write stuff down if you’re forgetful.

Went here back in April for my birthday dinner. We all left disappointed due to the wait staff. The hostess was amazing and the food itself was very good. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. The wait time for food and drinks was unreasonably long, and the biggest issue was the wait staff on the first floor. We were essentially ignored the entire time It genuinely felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers especially at their price point. The servers were clearly attentive and friendly to tables that appeared to be regulars, while we struggled just to get eye contact. I couldn’t even get a server’s attention to order another drink, and eventually decided not to order more alcohol at all—why increase a tip for staff who are actively avoiding your table? To add to the confusion, there’s a strange makeshift “bar table” setup inside the dining room, despite the actual bar being directly across the entrance. It disrupted the atmosphere and made no sense layout-wise. Great food and a great hostess, but the service was inattentive, frustrating, and honestly unacceptable.

My wife and I walked into LuNello’s at 5:30pm hoping to enjoy a nice dinner date. The restaurant was completely empty, with many tables available. We were greeted by an older woman with glasses and a strong accent, who asked if we had a reservation. We politely said no. She looked me up and down, checked her computer, and then told us they had no tables because “people are coming,” despite the restaurant being empty at the time. We even asked if we could sit at one of the open tables and were told no. As first-time visitors, this felt unwelcoming and disappointing. We assumed 5:30pm would be early enough for a walk-in, especially given the number of open tables. Unfortunately, we left without dining.

We made our reservation specifically for Friday to celebrate my father’s birthday. However, we received a call confirming a Saturday reservation days later instead. We explained that this was a mistake as the reservation was never for Saturday since my father’s birthday is Friday. What made the situation disappointing wasn’t just the mix up, but the way it was handled. The woman we spoke with was dismissive and unwilling to acknowledge that an error had occurred. It took what should have been a special night for my father and turned it into a frustrating experience.

Disappointed Long-Time Customer We’ve been coming to Lu Nello for several years as part of a holiday tradition with close friends. It has always been a fun part of the season; a chance to enjoy a great meal and beautiful ambience. Unfortunately, this year was a disappointment. For the first time, we were seated upstairs instead of in the main dining room. Almost immediately after we started our meal the staff began setting up the rest of the upstairs for an event scheduled the next day. At first, it was unclear what was happening, but the disruption was impossible to ignore - linens in piles, uncovered tables, chairs everywhere, and numerous staff and others wandering around and talking while we were dining. When we finally asked our waiter what was going on, he explained that it was preparation for a future event. The food, as always, was very good. But at Lu Nello’s we also expect a great experience. The chaotic atmosphere and feeling that we were somehow intruding on someone else’s future event completely undermined what is typically a special evening for our group.
