Great buffet, quiet and comfortable, friendly staff
Nice place, small seating area. Fresh and hot food, nice food and dessert selection. Will definitely be back.
Great deal at $12.95/person for lunch. Appreciate that they asked us if we wanted to upgrade for dinner instead of charging it automatically (my dad and I arrived close to the cutoff). Unlimited hot tea was $1.50. No complaints at all, go here if you're in the mood for Chinese in the Pike County area.
A nice variety but the buffet needs more than one beef ( beef pepper steak only beef ). One pork . Almost all chicken but had fish and shrimp, clams. The food was tasty and well prepared.
Amazing food choices great quality and amazing taste, servers were alittle rude but jsut jsut seemed tired is all it was very busy
Our experience was good over all though you could tell we came within an hr and a half of closing. No new food was brought out everything left was tough or over cooked but we were able to find eatable items and had a good time overall. Next time will come earlier to avoid this.
August 12, 2024 - Context is important , when reviewing a “ Buffet “ ! My wife and I go out to restaurants of all shapes , cuisines, and countries. Understanding the nature & operation of a Buffet helps when passing judgement. 1. A buffet is not a restaurant in reality. 2. Buffets are for serving clients quickly! 3. Buffets offer many entrees & sides 4. Tough to keep hot entrees hot & fresh 5. Food consistency changes as it sits 6. Goal, offer quantity fast, quality suffers * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * My advice is to avoid the breaded entrees! Sitting under heat lamps ruins the dish such as sesame chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef, breaded Shrimp is a NO ! Stay with entree meats that were cooked in hot oil & veggies. Try to watch as the staff adds a fresh tray , and run for that option! It’s fresh and the consistency is perfect out of the kitchen! Fried rice is generally fine the 1st hour or so under a heat lamp. The soups are OK, ingredients don’t include dairy /milk . . . Prefer not to let sit long! I like a hot & sour soup. . . then I add mushrooms, bits of pork, or chunks of chicken, or shrimp 🍤 to kick up that choice with hot sauce! Veggies are suppose to be crunchy in most Chinese entrees! Usually cooked or steamed quickly. Folks in the U.S. over cook veggies to mush! I guess it’s tradition or poor dental health. As veggies sit under heat lamps the crunchy crispness in veggies are lost. To wrap up, a Chinese Buffet will NOT give you the freshness , crispness , and quality of a true cuisine of a top Chinese Restaurant. So . . . our experience was reasonable to my expectations of a buffet. Quick , with lots of choices. Go into a buffet . . . Knowing the parameters. Thanks to our server, and cashier at the front desk, Diane! Her family has owned & operated this China Buffet for 12 years! Maybe your family might transform this into a top notch Chinese Restaurant! Customers would have to wait 15 to 30 minutes for a chef prepared meal in one of the eight true Chinese Regional Cuisines! 😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
A while back I reviewed this and gave it 3 stars. I am changing it to 4 stars, since I believe it has improved as far as the food. I am however basing the 4 stars as to how it compares to similar buffets. I don't compare fast food places to high end restaurants. Same goes here So 4 stars in the Asian buffet category. It's still in need of some repairs and maintenance but the food area is kept clean, and it's good. Smallish but better than most Chinese buffets I've been to as far as taste. Good hibachi and Sushi, while limited, is very good. In fact I will say this. If you like sushi, this place for $10 gives you waaaaay more value than what you pay in Shop Rite for a tray of sushi. As of 9/5/2021 they require disposable gloves at the buffet, and the sign says masks. The staff all wear both. I saw a mix of patrons wearing and not wearing masks, but the staff didn't seem to be forcing them. I go every month or so, so I guess I can say I like it.
We stopped in last night and we left soon afterwards. The food was old and had been out for hours judging by the appearance of it. We normally enjoy a meal here but last night, I just couldn't do it. It would have been a waste of money and I didn't want to risk getting sick.
I went there with my friend about a week ago, since we were up in the area. We love going to Chinese buffets and have never really been to a bad one. The place looks really nice when you go inside, but a pervasive fishy smell permeated the entirety of the dining area. The customer service is pretty good, but the food was terrible. Anything that had vegetables tasted like dirt. By that I mean it tasted as if they had gotten the vegetables straight from the ground, but they didn't rinse them off before cooking - it was really gross! Something was off with the taste of most of the meat too, kinda had a strange fishy taste (and the only meats I was eating were beef and chicken). The only thing that tasted okay - and my guess it's because of how it was cooked - was the bourbon chicken. Overall, all the things that I usually like to have that a Chinese buffet, all tasted kind of gross; and for the money, was an insult. It really sucked, because it was the only place out there to go for that sort of thing. I feel bad for the residents that they're limited to this for a buffet
I have eaten here about twenty times over the past ten years or so. The food is generally very good and hot. The service has always been good. Not this time. There was a young lady working. I have rarely encountered anyone less interested in doing their job. There are many types of experiences with servers, this was an example of extreme apathy. Shortly after beginning to eat, the bill and fortune cookie was already presented, and by presented I mean slammed on the table. Seemingly, if you slam things down hard enough, customers disappear, or at least I believe that she might think so. Then I had the audacity to ask for a beverage refill, after she had unceremoniously presented the check, imagine. Now there are times when the customer is on their sixth soda and is cutting into the profit margin. Well, this wasn't the case, again the audacity to ask for a refill on a glass of water. Of course when she returned with the water, it too got slammed on the table, across the table from where I was seated and barely in arms reach. Not to mention a quarter of its content splashed all over the table, something she ignored and turned and walked away. The food was still pretty good, the sushi was excellent considering. The service left a great deal to be desired. Maybe in a few years I will return after the teenage angst ends. Peace
We tried to go back several times. Spending more than a hundred dollars each time as we have a large family. The food is always left sit out and is most of the time dried out. The pizza is always raw. I normally wouldn't have left a review. Except this time 2 of my family members became very sick. It is not clean neither. By any means. I think it may be time for the health department to come in.
Food was disgusting 🤮 broccoli tasted extremely bitter like chemicals everything looked watered down . I spit a lot of food into my napkin it was just too disgusting to swallow🤢. Literally no service never came around to pick up plates or offer refills not once. Bathrooms were disgusting and smelled with a sign that said do not flush toilet paper absolutely disgusting. Will never ever ever go back there and they wanted a tip I got a tip for them shut you doors immediately before you kill someone. They need a visit from the health department.
First month this place was in business the buffet food was as good as good take out. I try once every couple of years to see if they have gone back to that but this recent trip was the new norm. Crappy food almost to the point of inedible. Standard go to dishes mushy, flavorless and even visually disgusting.
Don't eat here. The rest room is always filthy!!!!! Although we have enjoyed the sushi, we have gotten very ill 🤢. My husband got botchalisum and was sick for two weeks.
Don't go there to eat. There was hair in the rice and feathers still on the chicken. It made my wife's stomach turn. The only thing the employee did was shrug her shoulders. And they had enough nerve to charge full price. The whole experience was a gut wrenching experience. I wonder if they have ever heard of the better business bureau?
While I was there I asked for hot tea!!! This is the very first place that charges you for the cup $1.50 and not the pot. Some food was made fresh and some food you can definitely tell was leftovers from last night. What exactly am I paying for? I would definitely post pictures if I knew how to attach them here
I was excited to try a Chinese place in Milford. I was craving chow mein noodles. Website lacks photos or description. I ordered chow mein for pick up, drove all the way back home to eat and opened this bowl of vegetables. Chow mein in Chinese means stir-fried NOODLES. I called to get my money back thinking they made a mistake with my order just for the manager to tell me that this bowl of vegetables is chow mein and she believed that’s what chow mein is and wouldn’t refund me telling me how I should have ordered lo mein. This lady clearly doesn’t understand the word mein means noodles in Chinese. She false advertised and is selling something that is not true to its description. So just for those that love chow mein over lo mein, Do NOT order the chow mein it’s a bowl of vegetables. The dumplings, wonton soup, were fairly good and the spring rolls so so.
terrible customer service, light fixtures have water dripping out of them and when i mentioned it to the waitress she laughed about it and brushed it off. half way through eating the lady brought us our check without asking if we were getting anything els. there is also black mold seeping through the grout and crease on the ceiling above the food as seen in the pictures below. there was barely any food options in buffet and the food seemed old and sparse. bathrooms were absolutely vile and not clean and i also saw a child with no mask or gloves playing behind the sushi bar. also the food is listed as 14.95 in the restaurant but 11.99 online. would recommend HIGHLY not going to this place they call a buffet. would give negative stars if i could. waste of money.
