Went with a party of 7, seated immediately on a Thursday just before noon. I got the avocado toast with the salmon add ons. I asked for hollandaise and put a little over the top. Delicious and simple, and I always love a thin lemon slice for acid! Two of the party members got the Loco Moco which smelled amazing and tasted just as good. We had sangria to share which tasted a little on the sweeter side, but I like it that way!! Service was fabulous, our water and coffee was always topped up and our waiter brought us refill napkins as soon as we needed it. Prices are pretty usual for this area, but a little expensive for some.
I’ve been to Kitchen Sunnyside a few times. Love the atmosphere and the food is excellent quality. Unfortunately, the last time I was here, I requested something because I thought the waiter had forgotten and he dared rolled his eyes, a bit annoyed. Not a good feeling.
Doing the usual search for "something" near me for breakfast I found the Kitchen Sunnyside. And because I was hotel'ing it in Mill Valley it was close. The food was great, the potatoes were recommended over the typical hashbrowns and was the right choice/I can't speak intelligently about the hashbrowns. Eggs fresh and cooked to order, sausage was very good. However, when I return to this restaurant for breakfast, I'll definitely order an additional piece of their outstanding sourdough bread. Order was fast, I mean real fast and at first I thought, oh no everything was pre-cooked but, no. Everything was super fresh and I will definitely revisit this place again. If your in the area and needing a morning meal, I'd point you in the direction of Kitchen Sunnyside. My new breakfast place in Mill Valley.
We had an absolutely delightful brunch experience at this spot! The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the "Millionaire Bacon." It's not an exaggeration to say that this bacon is a game-changer! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing brunch with friends or family. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. If you're a bacon lover or simply someone who appreciates exceptional brunch offerings, this place is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!
First time in Mill Valley, and such a quaint place to eat nestled in the little downtown street! Found this place because of good reviews and ratings on Yelp! Though there place was busy for a Monday morning brunch, we were seated right away, served with beverages, and the food arrived within 15 or so of ordering. The Scrambles Primavera with Crispy Yukons were absolutely delicious, well done, and quite a big portion that would have suffice two people! The service staff were polite and very kind! Absolutely lovely experience with that little township feeling and quite good food!
The food and the service were EXCELLENT (and I rarely write in all caps)! This was the best breakfast I have ever had. Everything tasted so good! The tables were cleared quickly and we got our table quickly despite the list waiting to be seated. We got in within 5 minutes. Everything on the plate was so tasty.
Had the hash and western scramble both were very well cooked and tasted great. Portions were large. Cappuccino and juice were very good. Inside and outside seating. Service very friendly. Price on the higher side but food was worth it.
I've been coming here since they opened November 2014! The space itself was famous fir years when the Dipsea Cafe made it home. Since then 'Toast' and two or three other establishments tried- tried & died! Most of the servers, cooks and owners are Thai- their natural happiness and grace is contagious. Try this 'goldmine find' on Sunnyside Ave and you will come back again and again. Lovebaba Harideva(HD)
Service is ridiculously fast, amazing customer service; everyone is super happy and friendly. Food is unbelievable, I ordered the Oscar Benedict and my husband ordered the south of the border and millionaires bacon. One of the best places we’ve eaten on this trip! A must for breakfast if you’re in town!
I hesitated sharing my review only because this is one of those hidden gems the locals would like to keep for themselves. If you haven't been here then you need to go. For those eaters who desire the best, go here! Food aficionados, go here. Delicious food and great service, and good portions. I will say no more enjoy my pics and vids.
Fabulous meal. We were greeted kindly. Staff very attentive. Menu selection was plentiful, both breakfast and lunch. My husband ordered their special hot stone pot with chicken mango. 5 star presentation and so yummy. I had the Hemingway Benny. Again, presentation and taste were 5 star! Portions were more than generous. Highly recommend!
This places was amazing, especially after a hike. Sometimes we visit places where the food looks beautiful but doesn't taste good. Well this isn't one of those places. Their presentations taste as good as they look. This is going to be my post hike brunch area from now on. I am looking forward to seeing the staff again because they added to the welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend the chicken and croffle(waffle pressed croissant) because that chicken was so tender and perfectly combined with the crunchy croffle.
It was a weekend girls day out. And an excellent choice for brunch. Their artichoke beignets are top notch. And so are their tacos. We loved their goat cheese avocado toast. And finally the hot stone pot with tofu was the highlight. 10/10 will recommend.
Great food. Avocado Salad was delicious add the house bacon it was worth it. My husband had eggs Benedict and it was cooked perfectly. Great stop on the way to Muir Woods
Great breakfast/brunch with a ton of good options and unique items like the chicken and croffles…get the Hot Stone Pot - so worth it!!!
A true hidden gem in Mill Valley! Brunch was absolutely delicious with generous portions. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was so refreshing — made daily! I heard people come from San Francisco just to eat here, and now I see why. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and great food. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite breakfast restaurant in the bay area. Huge fan of their buttermilk pancakes: so fluffy and perfectly moist! Service is friendly and fast. We had no problem getting seated for 4 on a sunny Sunday at 10am.
We were checked in and seated quickly, orders taken smoothly and we didn’t have to wait long for anything although they seemed pretty busy. Food was REALLY good, I got the buttermilk pancakes with chicken apple sausage and Sunnyside eggs and my husband got the bulgogi Benny, everything was cooked to perfection super delicious can’t wait to come here again!
This fairy-tale-like restaurant in Mill Valley truly surprised us with how delicious the food was. We went with our kids and ordered a variety of dishes—especially the sizzling stone pot bibimbap and the fried chicken, which were absolutely outstanding. Not only was the food delicious, but the plating was beautiful as well, making the whole meal a delight for both kids and adults. It was a perfect brunch experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back every time we’re in Mill Valley.
Food tastes better than the photos! My first time reviewing but the food was amazing!
Had an excellent breakfast here today! Came here with a few adults and a 10-month old, staff was beyond accommodating. So very friendly and helpful. Service was impeccable, food was outstanding. Highly recommend the Bloody Mary, the millionaires bacon scramble, or the loco-moco. Thanks so much for the great experience!
Simply outstanding. The Moco Loco was a piece of art to be adored and its flavor bountiful. Our server Teo was equally fantastic. Cheers!
We had a party of 7 on a holiday. The wait was roughly 20 minutes, not bad. The hostess came out every 5 minutes to update us on the status of a table becoming available to seat us. The restaurant itself is clean and good atmosphere! The service is prompt and friendly. The food is AMAZING and presented SO beautifully. Definitely make time to stop here if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.
When you get there, you have to write your name on a piece of paper—that’s the waitlist—and they will call you. The food is delicious. The lady who served us was super kind and attentive. We were a little disappointed because they no longer have the millionaire Bacon, and our main reason for going was to try that. But overall, everything was good.
We happened upon this place, and I am so glad we did. Now, this will be a go-to spot. Everything looked amazing and tasted just as good. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I honestly can't wait to go back.
Great breakfast. Good vibe. Attentive service. We had breakfast burritos which was huge, it can be for two people or bring some home. The millionaire bacon was delicious!!! It was hard to stop eating it. The lemon ricotta pancakes were wonderful. We loved it here.

This has been one of my favorite places in Mill Valley, CA. It is a must go for breakfast while visiting family. The waiting is a bit long but totally worth the wait. The food is so fresh and delicious. Fresh cook to order. The staff is fantastic and funny. I am impressed how they can remember our order without writing it down. The place is small, cozy, and great vibes. Super popular! Restroom $$$ Park on the street.
Very nice local breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of downtown Mill Valley. Gluten free French toast is available, and was excellent. Millionaire dollar bacon is amazing, sweet and spicy — must have. Other options are limited if you have gluten issues — hash browns are not GF, and limits the options. Otherwise, we enjoyed our meal.

We came for brunch after church, right when they opened at 8:30. It was already busy. The food was excellent. I can't recommend the croissant waffle enough. The prices are hit-or-miss for portion and expectations. One meal (breakfast tacos) seemed like a great value but the chicken-and-waffles seemed a bit pricey for portion size. I'm generally unconcerned with portion size, but I hope there is something amazing that outweighs feeling like I may need a snack after just eating breakfast.

Quaint little place, some outdoor seating. Food was made quickly, had a standard breakfast plate. The hash browns were like something you'd get at McDonald's or from when you were in middle school (bar of hash), boo.

We usually go here and love this place, but I feel there has been a recent drop in quality. The eggs were horrible, the toast dry, and the custard tasting like it was made with spoiled milk. Everything else I got was both smaller and tasted lower quality. Hope kitchen Sunnyside will taste as good as it used to.
Such a bad service and bad food I feel the place was not even full and the servers rush us out to get the order we did not like the food she never check back on us ,the Bacon was old and chewy the ,syrup was literally thick water ,Food was flavorless I feel that I came from San Francisco to try some poor customer service expensive for double the price I feel like is not worth the 60$ breakfast at all!
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WORTH THE PRICE! I recently dined at Kitchen Sunnyside and wanted to share my experience. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of my visit. First and foremost, the pricing was a major concern. The pancakes alone were priced at a staggering $18, which, in my opinion, seemed exorbitant, especially considering they appeared to be more decorative than substantial. Additionally, paying $9 for eggs, $4 for hash browns, $7 for sausage, and $7 for a glass of orange juice felt excessive. What further added to my disappointment was the quality and hygiene of the meal. I found a gnat in the fruit served with my meal and discovered a hair on my plate. This lack of attention to cleanliness was not only off-putting but also unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. In conclusion, I regret to say that this dining experience did not justify the total cost. It appears that a significant portion of the expense goes toward food presentation rather than taste and quality. For those seeking a better value for their money and a more hygienic dining environment, I would recommend exploring other dining options in the area.

I am not one to write reviews for places but sometimes it’s needed. My partner (who is black and I (Asian indian) came to hike at mt.tam and after looked for a place to eat that seems comforting. We chose this restaurant or the reviews as we are foodies! We wrote our names down and patiently waited for our names to be called and walked through the arts/craft market and people watched. When seated about 20 minutes later we were given water n a menu. We ended up waiting around for someone to come to our table to ask if we wanted a drink but no one came, however she waited on others beside us. I tried to flag our server down whom had seated us but when I had locked eyes with her she proceeded to help the tables beside us and far away then to come to our table. At some point another waiter behind the bar came out and took our order but with a lot of sighs in his breath and when asking what would we like, I sugggested to my partner to say her order where she told me to voice mine which when I looked up the waiter rolled his eyes. After my order was taken, hers was and he could not wait to walk away where my partner paused him and had to ask “wait isn’t there a side of bread that comes with it?” He said “yea”, she had to tell him ok I’ll just get the ciabatta, and he took our menus and walked away, the entire time we were not asked if we were ok, needed anything more, and even when receiving our food they would not look at us again when I just was wanting to politely ask for hot sauce. My purpose for this post is not to bring down anything. It is to show the restraint that was held. The crowd included a mix of white, Latin, and Asian- the waiters themselves were of Asian/filipino descent. After the initial lack of care for us was there I thought how nice would it be for them to have been treated the same in an establishment they had visited. I hope the waitress/hostess and the waiter behind the beverages bar learn how to treat everyone with kindness and respect, and at some point receive the same kindness and respect they gave to us back. We left a tip, but for ill treatment to what was someone’s skin color never deserves one again.
