My go-to place for an easy lunch or dinner! So delicious and well-priced. I love the curry chicken plate or burrito. Highly recommend!
Loved my eggplant lamb burrito. Mango lassi was good but small for the price.
Indian food burrito! WOW they pulled it off. I enjoyed the lamb burrito. A little greasy at the bottom, but that makes sense for lamb.
Very nice owner who helped us pick some good food options for our first visit. Sitting outside in beautiful Mill Valley is a dream. The food is extremely good, quickly ready, and unique. Can't beat the price, a true gem!!
OMG this place is unbelievable. Think i went there 3 times in one week. Lots of vegan options. I had the curry sweet potato rice plate, curry pumpkin and smoked eggplant. All great
I told the guys working here that I was vegan, I wanted something moderately spicy, I trusted their judgement, and to bring me and some friends 3 plates of surprise. The 3 plates were so good we ordered 2 more. It was possibly the best meal of my life. If you haven't been here I recommend trying it immediately.
Finally made a pilgrimage for their famous Punjabi Enchiladas! The dish was perfection. The portions of enchiladas and basmati were just right - I felt full and content afterward, but not overly stuffed. The lamb enchilada was delicious, and the sauce (I asked for “spicy”) had the perfect amount of heat. I was so tempted to get an order to-go. :) Only thing I didn’t 100% love - the chai was fairly watery and probably could’ve used more milk and/or been cooked for longer to make it creamier and fuller!
This place is the bees knees. I've been coming here for years. Tonight I had a hankering for the sweet potato burrito, so I got some cash (it's cash only) I drove over from downtown SF at 5:30, and I got that dang curried sweet potato! This place is so good, I drove to mill valley from SoMa at rush hour to get it.
Great twist on delicious Indian food! Pieces of chicken were REAL and BIG, though would be nice if cut up into bite sizes 😝
I got the curried sweet potato and lamb burrito, my wife got the mustard green & curried chicken rice plate - both were AMAZING!!! We highly recommend this joint for your culinary adventures, just remember to bring cash.
Delicious “burrito” and rice plate - got eggplant + chicken and mustard green spinach + lamb. Both were excellent and flavorful with spices and various ingredients.
Really flavorful, delicious Punjabi burritos.
One of the most delicious burritos I have had, curried pumpkin and lamb. Spinach salad and mango lassi accompanied it perfectly, just a delicious moreish meal.
This place makes my taste buds sing. The smoked eggplant & curried chicken burrito is exquisite. Oh, the sweet potato burrito is UFB and the Pumpkin & Chicken Curry one is unbelievable. They use the whole naan as the wrapper with basmati rice, chickpeas, fresh chutney, your choice of filler and more. This is a must try fusion food that is a DO OVER. I like it very spicy and their habanero salsa is very good it has a hint of mint.
A hidden Mill Valley gem. Customer service can seem a little rough sometimes, but the food is always on point. If you are up for a burrito but fancy some different flavors, give it a try - you won't be disappointed!
I went here with my brother and his fiancee last weekend and I had the classic punjabi burrito. It did not disappoint! This place is what you get only in the Great American Melting Pot! 🇮🇳 + 🇲🇽 = 🇺🇸
Teeny little family restaurant with a simple menu. Smelled great and we were not disappointed. I was heartened to find a place like this in Mill Valley. Super reasonable price for the location ($13-$15 for an entree). I will say I didn't think the mango lassi was worth it.
Excellent lamb curry with mixed vegetables, two nights in a row. I love all the different flavors on different parts on the dish. A staple every time we visit Marin. Reasonably priced and filling.
Had the Curried Pumpkin with Lamb Burrito. Gawdamn! This burrito is a mouth-watering fusion of flavors. The curried pumpkin melds seamlessly with the savory ground lamb, while the rice and chickpeas add a satisfying texture. The pickled pineapple brings a nice sweet and tart, and the tamarind sauce introduces a sweet and sour kick. Topped with a cool yogurt, this burrito is a well-rounded, flavor-packed meal that's sure to satisfy any palate. The host, Saru was very friendly and made my burrito in no time.
The food was absolutely delicious. We had burritos with smoked eggplant, and I had curry chicken in mine. Such great flavors. We aren't from the area but will definitely be coming back.
I’m here nearly every week for their sweet potato lamb and chicken plates. Favorite and most unique Indian food in Marin!
A Mill Valley classic! Delicious South Asian food. Want to make it a hybrid? Try a chapati wrap with some chutney. There are tables inside and outside. Fun spot to grab to go and stroll through town, especially if you've got the burrito wrap!
I'm not sure what type of food this is, but if you are in the mood for something curried like Indian with hints of chutney and other flavors. Give it a try. Although not a world traveler, my guess is this is Pakistany Indian fusion, pleasantly spiced. Really like the Lam pumpkin curry in both plate style and Punjab burrito. The chapati tastes homemade and works well in the burritos and also complements the plate offerings. The various curried chicken is also nice. Great lunch or quick dinner option.
The chicken burrito was amazing. A multi-level combination of flavorings sweet and savory that came together. Generous amount of chicken. If you enjoy Indian spices you won't be disappointed. Friendly staff and prompt serving time. Will be back. Location on the humble side.
Food is great! Got it really quick too. Only downside is that they only take cash and Venmo rn, but honestly, the food is so good I’m willing to overlook it lol. I definitely recommend trying their food! I loved the curried chicken Punjabi burrito
Was looking for an interesting place to lunch in mill valley and this landed 10/10! I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand and have been lucky to have been surrounded by delicious international food throughout my life. This spot — very low-key, home-y (takes me back to beloved, “hole in the wall-esque” spots on travels in India and Nepal) was a great end to a hike. Loved the chai and especially the lamb in the smoked eggplant burrito. Chicken pumpkin curry was also good, but the lamb packs way more flavor, and oil for that matter!
Delicious, fast, and accommodating. They offered a non-spicy dish that was off the menu so our kids could eat it and served it as soon as it came out. They anticipated our needs without us having to ask, which was a stress-reliever. Above all, the dishes were tasty, and the portion sizes were just right. We thought that it may have been too much when it first came out, but we left satisfied without feeling too heavy after our meal.
Yummy and quick! Cash or Venmo only. Loved the pumpkin chicken rice plate. And the bread used on the burrito was so good.
Amazing little restaurant! It’s fast, the staff is friendly and the food is quite good. Well seasoned food, plenty of flexibility in their small menu. Their simple menu makes it easy to try new items and their drink selection has something for everyone, I always get the mango lassi, no exceptions. Would definitely recommend. It’s mill valley, the prices are what they are.
Delicious Indian burritos and rice plates make Punjabi a quick and tasty stop for a bite. Seating is limited both inside and outside.
Cash only great place with good food. There's no much indoor seating but the service was warm and friendly, helping out feed as well two young kids (under 5). Much appreciated and delicious yum, comfort warm delicacies. I had the rice plates: very flavourful and generous portion. Loved in particular the soup [2nd time a bit too salty]
Aside from easily the most spectacular name if the food industry, the food is spectacular. Easily the best burrito I've had in a long, long time (and its vegan!!). The place is unassuming, the owner and staff are fantastic and we just thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Our party had the Mustard Green Spinach Tofu burrito, and the curried Sweet potato burrito. While both were excellent the Mustard Green Spinach Tofu burrito was by far the highlight of this place. Highly recommend it!!!
We love their food especially the spicy turkey plate or burrito. And my children love their mango lassi as well.
Nice little place with great food. Try the sweet potato with lamb- delicious. Not much seating- small tables inside and on the street- we walked to old mill park and ate there- very scenic and nice. Cash or venmo only when we went.
Stopped by here on a rainy New Year’s Eve for lunch and had a wonderful meal as always, plus hot chai latte!
I really loved this place. I got the lamb rice bowl that had a variety of flavors that complimented each other incredibly. Of course the mango lassi and chai tea we got hit the spot, but The Dream was an amazing end to the meal and the best dessert I've ever had. I already know I have to get more before I leave town. Definitely recommend!
Incredibly flavorful! Can’t wait to go back. We had the jerk chicken and the curried sweet potato with chicken. Neither disappointed! It was a great and filling meal after a nice hike. Awesome beverage selection too!
- Went as a group and we got to try several of their burritos. - Food is fusion of Desi and Mexican cuisines and was pretty good. - Conveniently located with parking nearby. - Self service. - They accept cash or Venmo
Whenever a friend comes to visit, I recommend Avatar’s Punjabi Burritos! Great options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free (if you get a rice plate). The chutney is delicious too! I often go for a burrito with curried veggie & curried pumpkin but opted for a rice plate with curried veggie & smoked eggplant this time- new favorite! Beautiful presentation & balance of flavors. Saru, who runs this location, is also so friendly and welcoming! I plan to keep coming back here and recommending to friends. Head’s up: you’ll need cash or venmo to pay. Also the restaurant is tiny so I usually order to go and take food on a hike/picnic. There are 2 tables inside and 1 outside.
We ordered the smoked eggplant with chicken curry and spinach tofu with lamb which was my favorite! I can eat it everyday! It is so delicious that I am still thinking about it right now in bed at midnight! 😂 We also ordered the dessert and OMG I have never tasted anything like it before it was soooo goooood!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 My only complaint is I wish they had a branch in my neighborhood… right next to my house.🤪 BTW they also take Venmo.
Wow! Great food, great service, in a beautiful location. Who could ask for more? I got the pumpkin curry with lamb rice place. It was so good and a heathy portion as well. I love that it was more than just the rice and curry. The sides of dal, chutney, and more really made it special. I’ll definitely be visiting again!
Avatar is completely one of the best inseam fusion spot I’ve ever been to. Not to mention that they make there food very health conscious. I’ve been coming to this place for a few years and my go to is the chicken curry burrito you can’t go wrong but everything else on the menu is super tasty. The owner and the staff are very friendly and super nice. I highly recommend this place. One thing to note they are a cash only esta los plan ahead.
These were a delicious end to our hike on the Dipsea Trail. They’re right at the entrance along a quiet street near downtown. We ordered the chicken and lamb burritos. The “tortilla” was thick and delicious and the filling was flavorful. It was enough for two meals! I also ordered a rose lassi but should have stuck to the mango. There’s no seating outside so make sure to dress warmly for the outside tables. We enjoyed our first “Punjabi burrito” experience!
Went for a hike in Mill valley and had lunch from this restaurant. I really liked the food, it was simple but a balanced plate of flavorful food.
You have to eat here. Food was absolutely fantastic. The lady working made recommendations and they were amazing!Pictured is curry pumpkin and lamb burrito.

First time having an Indian cuisine burrito. Absolute perfection. FYI, cash only. They also offer rice dishes. Basically the meal you can have as a rice dish can be wrapped in a tortilla.
One of the best Punjabi burritos you’ll ever have. I always make sure to stop by when I have the chance. Food is fresh, fantastic, and never disappoints! Bring cash if you can’t pay by Venmo or Zelle

They have a wide selection of very yummy dishes. The burritos are good but the rice dishes are even better. The atmosphere for eating in is nothing, but it is worth it to have the meal hot.
Very nice restaurant. The staff are all very nice and the food is amazing. All the flavours are hot and spicy, and combined with the cool yogurt and authentic wrap, it sums up to be a very good dish.
Good food! I took a rice plate with curried vegetables and chicken curry. My husband took a rice plate with eggplant curry and curry chicken. I would say my choice tasted okay but the eggplant was just too good. I ended up eating my husband's food more than mine. Was very filling. The plate also had some different kinds of chutney and chaat in it, in small quantities.
Small cozy place. There is no restroom for customer and don't expect they give you ice in your water or soda. Sweet potato chicken rice plate is way better tasty than lamb rice plate.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Great chai.
You'd never expect this hidden little spot that looks a bit like it should be a deli or something from the outside to be SO good. Service, quality, originality of the dishes; all are top notch. I'm not normally real big on "fusion" anything, but Avatar's really showed me. I had the Pumpkin Turkey enchiladas. They were brilliant! Don't underestimate the beverage selection either. Many wonderful beers (bottled) that the owner (I think) paired with our dishes beautifully.
Avatar's is a refreshingly different casual dining option in Mill Valley. Most dishes come in both a burrito and a plate form factor. The plates are good, but the point of the venue is the burrito, so definitely give that a try. I've been a regular for a long time and love it; my only knocks are (1) Price: $10 food + $3 drink gets chunky, and (2) Cash-only-ness. Avatar's is literally the only reason to carry cash in Mill Valley most days!
Nice quick service. Clean place but eat in space limited. Above all the food was delicious. Good portion size. I had the aubergine (eggplant) caviar with lamb curry and rice. The accompanying sauces and trimmings were nicely balanced and delicious. The meal was nice and filling - fully satisfied. Intend to go again and hope next experience will be as good! Thanks.
Make sure you have Venmo or cash. The burritos are a good size, flavorful, and fresh.
Was good to try the burrito . I liked the flavor. The tortilla they use is kinda falling apart and I wish there was more green veggies in the base version. Portion is smaller and price higher than Chipotle. Google maps prices are inaccurate, the base burrito is now $11.99. nice outdoor seating
I happened to stumble across this restaurant while in the area and they did not disappoint! The flavors are wonderful, I have yet to try any type of Indian fusion until then and now I can't stop thinking about it. I had the Smoked Eggplant Punjabi Burrito and the Mustard Green Spinach Tofu Punjabi Burrito. The lentil soup was also quite good, however for $10 a cup I'll pass next time.
Small and nice place for Indian style food! Portions are average but taste was good! Liked that they are eco friendly and use steel plates for serving! Spinach tofu and spicy curry vegetables are for vegetarians! Rice bowl- 4/5 Curry Vegetable Burrito- 3/5 (Roti wrap wasn’t fresh)
Good Indian burrito. In parantha style wraps rather than tortillas or naan. But quite oily. The spinach tofu was good. Strangely they have pineapple in their curried chicken burrito.

Punjabi Burrito is America at its finest - a blending of cultures with a delicious outcome at an affordable price with virtually no wait. Family-made fusion food with no frills. I love this place!
The 1st time I went here, it was alright. The second time, the chicken tasted dry with hardly any flavor. It was doused with creamy bland yogurt sauce and garbanzo beans, which made the dish even worse. I’m giving them 3 stars because I got there 20 minutes before they were closing, so who knows.
Prices keep going up here and the servings stay about the same, perhaps even get smaller. I used to love this place, but $15 for an average sized burrito? I just can't stomach that any longer.
Not particularly flavorful. Nothing to write him about. Okay price.
Burrito was mostly rice, barely any tofu in the tofu burrito. Service was minimal. The tortilla/roti was good, hence 3 stars instead of 2. Flavor was basic. The cashier was in a rush and didn’t offer a legitimate receipt
I tried 3 different vegetarian burritos. The flavor was okay, but unfortunately, they all had way too much rice and barely any of the other ingredients. I felt like I received RICE burritos.
They are trying to make it unique, but didn’t work out for me…lean ground lamb won’t taste good, the dishes could have been better ,if they tried to cook it with lamb chunks rather than making it with minced meat . But unique idea
Chicken Curry Burrito was good. Is it worth an hour drive? No. Is worth it if you're a local. Yes. Luckily, I was in town already. The indian tortilla is thick, like a home-made Maseca corn-flour tortilla eat immediately or it will be hard. The rice and chicken were great, but at the bottom of my burrito I found a different sweet taste (fruit chutney, candied apple taste), that I didn't like. Definitely would of ruined the burrito if it was throughout it, luckily it was at the end. Next time I would order it without the fruit chutney.
Small place. Pleasant patio seating on the sidewalk. I had Chicken Curry Burrito. The taste is good, its authentic Indian wrapped in an Indian paratha bread. But the curry is too liquid to have it in a burrito and it becomes messy to eat. I would suggest trying the curry bowl instead. Also this is a cash-only place.
I really wanted to love this but the burrito was just OK. It felt really carb heavy with the amount of rice and how thick the naan was. I wish there was more lamb in it. Otherwise the flavours were really tasty.
The salad was great but the main courses were not to my liking. The pasta sauce milk was broken and the tinge of sweet taste was weird to me. The yoghurt chicken tasted sweet and the rice was totally tasteless. Not the place that I’ll visit again.
The discrepancy between the description of the burrito and what was actually served left a lot to be desired. From the expectation of explosion of flavor, the burrito fell quite short in reality. The basic burrito seemed to only be rice, chana masala, and a minuscule amount of chutney at the bottom of the burrito wrapped in an extra large whole wheat chapati. The dream dessert however, was pretty good, tasting like a mix of 3 kulfi flavors (or Ras Malai?) topped with pistachios made a decent cold treat on a hot day

I wanted to like this place and usually only leave good reviews but wanted to give others a heads up what to expect. I’d you like a burrito filled with lots of rice, some chickpeas and maybe some ground up meat, this is your place. The place does not feel especially clean.
Good food but they have zero interest in customer service. They are cash only and they take venmo but they don’t even know their venmo handle. It’s pretty pathetic
Open-mouth cough in the place in between the kitchen and the small dining room. Didn't wash her hands after. Also, very loud on her speaker phone, while I dine and do some work. Unique, tasty burrito!
Horrible experience. Taste is extremely bad and quantity was horrible.
Horrible place!! Do yourself a favor and find a different place to eat. I don't know how it is so highly rated on Google. The food was stale, foul smelling and bad taste. Had to throw away the smoked eggplant burrito after a couple of bites.
Very old and dry burrito wrap. Too much rice and less curry and vegetables. It’s too pricy for the fast food. The desert smells of chemicals. It wasn’t as tasty. If you are not native Indian, you won’t recognize how fatty or bland the food is for the price. It’s good fast food for all other races.
Very very bad the works burrito place in ca just not good..!
They raised the food prices. Just a basic burrito is $13. And Google shows $7. Everything is very expensive. Before you go, call them and check the prices first.
I really wanted to like this place as the service was friendly and there was a nice outdoor patio, but I had the smoked eggplant rice plate and threw up about 3 hours later. I should have realized that something was off when the food came and it looked great but was barely warm. It was either the eggplant or the pickled vegetables that came along side. I realize this is a small business and don't want to hinder any customers but food safety is truly important.
This place is very popular. The burritos have way too much rice in them. I suspect because it's cheap. As a gourmet Indian cook, I didn't think they needed so much rice. The prices have been increased. If you're craving Indian in Marin, then you can consider this as there are few Indian places to eat. Anywhere else, this would not even survive
Had ordered their rice bowl and the taste was so bad. Their chicken was thready, the food was tasteless, horrible combinations, rice quality was poor, veggies used to fill the plate up were horrible. The portion size is really bad! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
