Loved this place. The pea shoots were super fresh and tender, the seafood pot was generous and flavorful, and the roasted pigeon was perfectly crispy. Everything tasted high quality and well prepared. Would definitely come back!

they have great private dining room and set menu options if you have a group and are hosting an event, banquet, celebration, etc. even my mom was impressed by the food, and her bar is quite high. bravo to HL Milpitas - thank you!! separately - the dim sum is great and important to some, perhaps: high ceilings, well lit, very clean compared to some of its competitors!

Food was delicious, good variety for everyone's palate and plentiful. Large space to accommodate our team of 13 people and a baby. Its reasonable and was divided amongst our team. Good atmosphere. Food tastes fresh and the staff were friendly and enesure our needs were met. We will return.

Really enjoyed the experience here at H.L Peninsula Restaurant. We've come a couple of times now and the food is excellent. The atmosphere is great in Milpitas with a large open seating and beautiful decor. Our server was very attentive providing great advice on what to have. When we're in the area again, we will definitely come back!

A Delightful Dim Sum Experience at HL Peninsula Pearl From the moment I stepped into HL Peninsula Pearl, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and an elegant atmosphere perfect for an afternoon dim sum outing. I ordered a selection of dishes that truly showcased the kitchen’s skill and attention to flavor. The Steamed Shrimp Dumpling in Ginseng Broth was a standout—light yet invigorating, with the ginseng lending a subtle herbal depth to the plump, juicy shrimp. The Pork To-Fu Skin Wrap in Oyster Sauce delivered rich umami notes wrapped in silky tofu skin, and the Steamed Honeycomb Tripe with Curry Sauce brought a bold, aromatic punch that dim sum lovers will appreciate. And let’s not forget the Roasted Duck—crispy skin, tender meat, and perfectly seasoned. The service was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. If you’re looking for high-quality dim sum with thoughtful preparation and flavor-forward dishes, HL Peninsula Pearl is absolutely worth a visit.

Today is New Year's Day, and there is a huge crowd of diners. After waiting for a long time, we finally got seated. The Cantonese dim sum here is delicious and worth the wait, and the food is served very quickly. Although the price of each plate of dim sum is about one dollar higher than other similar restaurants, the chefs make it delicious and it is worth every penny. This restaurant is very spacious and suitable for wedding banquets and similar banquets.

Very grand venue with a lot of staff. Food was delicious too! Stu fried soy noodles were well seasoned and not too oily! Chicken feet were nicely flavored but on the over cooked side. The shrimp noodle rice rolls were very good. Crispy roasted squash had nice crispy skin and had great flavor. Pan seared pancake was a good surprise too. And the finishing touch were the egg yolk lave bao, really yummy.

The Sauteed Kurobuta Pork & String Bean with Bamboo Shoot was a standout dish, incredibly tasty and paired perfectly with white rice. The Sauteed Beef Cube with Taro, although the beef was tender, left a bit to be desired as the taro was a tad hard. The Crispy Fish Fillet Stew with Preserved Vegetables, on the other hand, was a flavor explosion. The mix of sour and spicy flavors was appetizing, and the grass fish lived up to its reputation with its crunchy skin and tender meat. The Steamed Eggplant with Silver Dried Fish & Garlic was a delicious dish, offering a perfect blend of flavors. The Dried Fried Oysters Marinated with Red Wine and Ginger were well-flavored, tasty, and delightfully crispy. A must-try! Last but not least, the Chicken and Pork Intestine Soup is highly recommended, especially on a chilly day. It wasn't oily, and the flavor was exceptional.

Overall it was a pretty good experience for my first time here. It’s really a beautiful space. Quite large dining hall with two massive screens at either end. Very nice vibe I thought. Parking was pretty easy. All of the clientele seemed to be Chinese which I think is a good sign for authenticity of the food. We stayed pretty conservative with our orders choices, although they had an extensive menu especially seafood items. Food was definitely better than other Chinese restaurants we’ve been to in the local South Bay area. It is a little more pricey but not much more than smaller restaurants. Just note that dining in has a fixed 18% service charge.

This is our 5th time of visiting this restaurant and we tried both lunch and dinner before. This time we ordered crispy roasted squab, fish filet & scallion rice noodle rolls, and beef offal stew with shrimp. My favorite is their squab!

Came here for dinner and… let’s just say the vibes weren’t it. There was a huge wedding banquet going on, which is fine, but even though the non-party side of the restaurant was half empty, we still got seated right next to the action. Translation: loud, nonstop background noise for the entire meal.

HL Peninsula Pearl offers an elegant dining experience that elevates the typical Chinese restaurant ambiance. The classy decor, with chandeliers and high ceilings, creates a sophisticated atmosphere. The food is great, well-seasoned, not overly salty, and bursting with flavor. Standout dishes include the delicious short ribs with teriyaki sauce, featuring mushrooms, bell peppers, and spring onions, and my personal favorite, the unique crispy wild rice noodle with shrimp, which has a striking purple hue. The deep-fried shrimp with almond slices was also delightful, while my sister and daughter raved about the honeycomb tripe with curry sauce. My daughter, a siumai lover, was thrilled with their siumai, which lived up to her high expectations. We also tried the soy sauce chow mein and beef and bamboo shoot rice noodle rolls, though these were less memorable for me. For dessert, the baked taro bao and salty egg yolk lava bao were delightful, especially paired with hot tea—a must-try for dessert lovers. Ordering can be tricky for first-timers, especially if you don’t speak Chinese. The paper menu requires you to write order numbers, but we weren’t initially provided a pen, which caused some confusion. Once we figured out the process, everything went smoothly. Note that a 16% service charge is automatically added to the bill. Overall, HL Peninsula Pearl is a gem worth revisiting. I’m excited to return and explore more of their menu!

I attended a Chinese wedding banquet here. Lots of fancy food. Most of it was good but some dishes were off on seasoning or doneness. But overall I think the place is good. The air conditioning couldn't quite keep up with a hot day.

This is my first time here and the wait was luckily not long. This is a fairly new restaurant with two huge wall screens. You order from a menu and they will bring out the dishes. The dishes came out pretty slowly. We did get seated almost by 1pm. There were some dishes that were sold out. Everything looked good and almost all the dishes tasted great. Food just took so long to come out. We had to have them check on our orders.

Dinner: Fried rice is good, dry not greasy and flavorful. Beef and taro was a little sweet, but better than expected because taro cubes were crunchy. Fried scallops very savory flavor without being overly salty. Soup of the day was pork with sea coconut. Nice, but did not stand out as a must-order like some other places soup of the day.

Good location and easy access to the freeway and easy free parking! Food is just acceptable, nothing standouts or WOW us! I wouldn’t order the Peking duck again because it was not worth the $55 you paid! They come to changing our bone plates when we all put down our chopsticks. The timing is way off. Or no observation or care! We may come back again to try their Dim-sum lunch too see if they can change my opinion?

Service: 1⭐ . If you don't have friends working there, don't expect good service. We have to ask 3 times for hot sauce. 4 time for follow up an order that we have to wait over 30mins for them to figure out the order was enter for the wrong table and no service recovery for their mistakes. Food: 5⭐, so if you don't mind of the bad service, we recommend it for the food and variety of choices. Forgot to mention, 16% service fee will be automatically added, so you can't even tip them less if you are not satisfied with the service 😡

My husband and I went here for dim sum yesterday morning and the only thing more memorable than the food was how freezing the restaurant was. It was uncomfortably cold the entire time. The dishes turned cold almost immediately, which completely ruined the eating experience. When we got home, my husband felt sick from how cold it was inside. It was so bad that I saw one of the servers wearing a wool coat over his uniform. If your own staff needs winter clothing indoors, that is a serious problem. The food and service were decent, but the owner’s apparent attempt to save money on air conditioning is ridiculous and unacceptable. Guests and employees should not have to suffer through a meal.

Seafood items were good, fresh and done well. Avoid the peking duck.. it was no peking duck, more like Cantonese style duck "pretending". While the place looks new and nice, service was poor. No one checks on our tea or change plates.

The food was okay, but the service was extremely poor. After we were seated and given menus, we waited over 15 minutes and no one came to take our order. I eventually had to stop a staff member myself. After ordering, it took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive, and only after I went to ask about it. Even then, the dishes did not come out together. Two dishes were served first, and we waited nearly another 10 minutes with empty plates on the table before the remaining dish finally arrived — after we had already started eating. To make things worse, when we asked for the check, they took my card and did not return with the bill for almost 10 minutes. I honestly don’t understand why every step took so long. It’s disappointing because the food itself is not bad, but the service completely ruined the experience. I would not come back. Waiting hungry for such long periods, especially when dining with guests, is awkward and unacceptable.

Today. Very disappointed meals. 1)Cold soup. 2) Great Pork Belly. 3) fish dish came with fish head and body bones. 4)egg tofu without egg tofu. 5)chicken up to the standard level. 6) lamb stew not soft enough, maybe because of not warm enough. 7) no wok hei氣。 8)hot water strong clorox taste If cannot handle this class of restaurant, narrow down the customer numbers. End up pack home to eat. 4 people at this price with this presentation. If excuse for busy New Year Eve, then only worth 40-50% price value without service fee. Or redo this whole set to offer us to experience again. Item #1,3,4,6,7 were all our disappointed dishes.

It’s a beautiful restaurant, easy access to the parking lot. The food is acceptable, nothing standout. The moment I received my sweet pea spout with garlic, I knew it’s nothing good here because it was the full grown spout which so chewy and definitely overcooked, maybe they thought overcooked could cover the fact of the full grown leaves. The set of 3 BBQ items $39 was not worth it. The trio but if you ordered the small size $26, you only get 2 items. So my husband and I wanted to try so we have to order medium size, only the duck was good, the others either too much fat or too much meat, so chewy as well. The fried rice was tasteless and dried. The pork with broccoli was sweet but better than other dishes. Jasmine tea taste like perfume, bad tea. Service was rude and slow. Even when I was ready to pay, I had my credit card attached the bill for a long time, the employee still not ready yet. Surprisingly, tip 18% was included no matter what that explained the employees not pretty care about the service, whatever they do, they still get at least 18%. I usually tip more than that but this type of service, not deserved at all.
