Dinner at the end of 2021! What a great dinner! There are nine of us, and the restaurant manager recommended a set meal for ten. Wow! Every dish is very delicious and the quantity is enough! There is dessert after dinner! The service in the meal is also excellent! Super-satisfied dinner at the end of the year, delicious and impressive, will come again! Worth recommending!
We were there for dinner. Food was excellent as usual. Service was good. We had BBQ meat as an appetizer. The geoduck clam was excellent. The mushrooms in the duck's feet dish were huge. Everything was good.
I had a wonderful Dim Sum experience with a table of Three. I recommend ordering the black bean steamed chicken feet and durian puff pastry! I also had this plate of salted fish fried rice which was exceptionally good! Lovely service as they provide a $1.50 per person hot tea/water. Their atmosphere is great and their restrooms are top notch clean and modern!
Sometimes, life just gets too busy to be able to prepare a Thanksgiving meal at home. And when you're a Chinese-heritage family and want high-quality foods you've grown up with, you go to Mayflower. And that's what we did. We appreciated their prix-fixe family meals at a wide range of price points--this let's you focus socializing with your family and not spend 20 minutes figuring out what to order. We had a splendid evening with wonderful food and family, and no need to clean up afterwards.
For me its one of the best Chinese restaurant in the bay area. Food are delicious. Service is great, waiters can split up the food for the number of people in the table equally. There's an ample amount of parking space infront too. Its my 2nd time to dine and they never failed to satisfy me.
Went out on a Christmas Eve with the team. All the staff is pretty fast feels like a freeway lol. So one has to be very quick of what they want or wanna try. The staff mostly talks in Cantonese so I had no idea what they are saying but thanks my people in my group who well versed with the language. We ordered a lot and tried good dumplings with hot tea. It was a really good experience. I also saw they had good noodle. Good for groups and the ambience is like a typical restaurant. It was also jam packed at lunch time.
It was very good. I've had better in the Bay area but this was definitely a stop worth while. Reasonable pricing and pretty good food. The Shanghai dumplings were as close to authentic as you'll get. 4/5. A 5 star would be the best I've had so it's a solid 4
Went for a Saturday brunch at this location and ordered a bunch of dim sum dishes. The taste is quite good and the portion size is decent. Noise level is a bit high as expected of a Cantonese-style Dim Sum restaurant but it does not create any issue for having a conversation. One annoying factor is that when we asked for to-go boxes, the manager around our table did not even bother to acknowledge our presence but showed a stern look when bringing the boxes and packing bag to us.
Menu has some good dishes not often found in other dim sum restaurant including suckling pig kitchen special, the pea sprouts with grapefruit peel, the rice roll with bitter melon and shredded chicken. The suckling pig is crispy, the meat is tender. Overall the special dish is ok, the dim sum is ok but not something I would return just for them. The location is excellent. The ambience and the service is good.
I recently dined at Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in San Jose. The service was satisfactory, with staff being generally attentive and polite. However, the food was just okay. While the portions were generous, the flavors didn't stand out, and some dishes felt a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's an average spot for Cantonese cuisine if you're not too particular about the food quality.
One of the finest Cantonese good you can find in Silicon Valley . Came here many times and food is always tasted great and authentic. I used to come and eat the fried clam in black bean sauce which never failed me. I love their crab but never try tonight. The giant Garoupa fish cooked 2 ways is something new. Typically a long wait during peak hour but today I came at 630pm but quite empty. They served dim sum and I always enjoy it!
It's a large Chinese dim sum seafood place The food is so average Will not come back so many better options nearby but still not as good as some in SF I was so tempted by the lobster noodles. It's only 2.5 stars/5 The har how was the best coming in at 4stars/5 Shrimp rice roll dim sum 4/5 The yang chow fried rice3/5 Mongolian beef 2.5/5 Pea sprouts garlic very good but a bit too oily 4/5 Walnut shrimp disappointing 3/5. Too much mayo and not really good sauce Women's bathroom very clean. Pleasant
Hau gau is filled with whole shrimp, not minced. Shu mai is large and not packed with low fatty pork. Just enough fat. Both was delicious. Pork belly while crispy it’s a bit hard to chew. Oyster in xo sauce (chef special) was deep fried ave lacked any oyster flavor. Hard pass on these. Mandatory 18% service was unsavory. This use to be a top shelf restaurant. Judging from empty Cisco parking lots and WFH and remote I fear this is a downward spiral.
Haven't been here for quite a few years because the dim sum was not great. Decided to have mom's birthday dinner here (heard it was better than dim sum). Ordered a variety of fresh seafood and chicken. Did not like the chicken, but the seafood was pretty good. The fish and geoducks were delicious. The lobster, though fresh, did not look like it was a full 2 pounds. Prices were high for the fresh seafood. Overall, it has good and not so good dishes and the service was acceptable.
The wait can be pretty long on weekends, as is expected. What was not expected was that, in addition to an 18% mandatory gratuity for any party size, we were provided a menu that had no pricing on it. Not sure this is even legal…. As for the food, the dimsum was pretty decent though the chicken feet was mixed quality. First piece was wonderfully moist but the other pieces had a rather rough texture. I would never dine in person again due to the shady pricing practices but would consider ordering out.
Pay very much attention to the final credit card receipt!!! They put extra 18%/20% /25% tip options on credit card receipt ( including mandatory 18% service fee and taxes) to mislead customers, which is extremely immoral! For example, the meal is $100, you get a $126 (mandatory 18% service fee + 8% taxes) receipt first. After getting your credit card, they will give you a credit card receipt with 18%/20%/25% tip options. If you don't pay attention and add 18% tips, you will pay $148 in final, $40 tips for a $100 meal.
Waited over 30 mins to get the food serves. Ribs were cooked with no flavor, salty and dry. Felt cheated by adding 18% tip when didn't get good service,. I told the lady ith a sorry attitude at the register and she didn't care abotu my complaint. Definite not going back to waste my money on this place
This is to remind myself not to go there again. Their dim sum is decent. But their service is awful at best. The server constantly ignores you, especially the older Chinese person, and I have strong reasons to believe that he is heavily racially biased. I used to come here frequently over the weekend for dim sum, and it used to be a fun experience at a reasonable price. But it's not that affordable anymore. They ask about tea casually like it's free like it is in most Chinese restauranta, but then you get $2 per person charge at the end. Also, I am curious how they justify charging per head even though they bring they same teapot whether there's one person at the table or six. They frequently forget orders and if asked, completely unapologetic about it. On top of that, when you already accumulated a bad taste in your mouth from the service, you get charged with a mandatory 18% service fee (for a party of two). Talk about irony.
This was by far one of the most crazy dining experiences I’ve ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. 1. Our waiter was completely unresponsive. We waited 15+ minutes just to get water, and even then had to flag someone else down. 2. The bowl and spoon were visibly dirty—with an actual dead bug on the spoon. Disgusting. 3. Then the waitress brought us the wrong orders. When we pointed it out, she seemed annoyed rather than apologetic. 4. The seafood had a weird, off-putting taste, definitely not fresh, and frankly, it made us question the kitchen's hygiene. 5. And just when we thought it couldn’t get worse, another waitress threatened not to let us leave and forced us to pay for the food we didn't order.
