China Palace is a popular late-night Cantonese spot known for its authentic and delicious food, especially the Mongolian beef. Service is inconsistent, with some customers experiencing rudeness, particularly from the older staff. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous.

Had the beef chow fun. I always rate 4 to 5 stars if place is decent for what I ate, as I don't want to bash on the livelihood of honest workers. With that said, I'm hyper critical about Canto style food. Beef chow fun is decent, the slices of beef smaller than a place I've had in Rowland Heights, Los Angeles which I think has some of the best beef chow fun. Flavor is standard beef chow fun with a hint more garlic than the beef chow funs I've normally had. Also has carrots which I normally don't see. The main thing that is missing here is the very smoky, "wok hay"(Cantonese sounding word). This smokiness with the onions and beef is the true signature move of beef chow fun when done at it's supreme best. Final verdict, Will order again... It's good enough until I can find better.
I ordered takeout for a family lunch, and China Palace did not disappoint! The food is authentic and delicious. It’s not too greasy, which most Chinese takeout is. I ordered 8 dishes to share with 8 people, and the price was great ~ less than $18 per person with some food leftover. These were the dishes I ordered, and I’d order them again! -Szechaun style twice cooked pork -Stir fried lamb with green onion -Bean curd strips with shredded pork -Squid with baby bamboo -Stir fried dried shrimp string beans -Sautéed spinach with garlic -Salty fish chicken fried rice -Beef chow fun
I was pleasantly surprised. There food was very flavorful and colorful. I actually enjoyed my Chinese food experience. That a first in the past 10 years. No joke we moved to Milpitas 5 years ago. I tried several different restaurants and was very disappointed but even with 3 stars we decided to give this place a try. To my surprise it was exploding with flavors and it looked delicious very colorful. I want to give 4 stars because I wish they would be a little more generous with the food. It was bearly enough to feed 3 adults. But because it was so good I won't take away a star. Maybe next time they'll be more generous. I also realize that in 2024 everything everywhere has shrunk in size including our bank account. Lol The service was friendly I noticed some reviews say the workers where rude but we didn't have that problem. We ordered hunan spicy hot pot with spare ribs and they actually had real ribs.with the bone melt in your mouth. You dont see that often its usually cut up pork but never the real deal with bone in thats actually very rare. Prawns with veges, house chow mein and sweet and sour chicken. Loved it all comlpiments to the chef. Even if they where rude I would still go back. But they where friendly and and not fake.
Great string beans and Fujian-style fried rice at reasonable prices, and clean bathrooms. You’ll need to flag them down for service, like all authentic Chinese restaurants, and pay at the back at the end. Cash only. They’ve been open for at least 15 years according to photos on the wall, probably longer. Open late.
For over a decade, I've been a loyal patron of this place. I fondly recall the times when they generously offered a complimentary boba drink with pearls alongside the meal. How I yearn for those days! Nevertheless, their food continues to impress, consistently delivering the most delightful Kung Pao Chicken and Ma Po Tofu in my opinion. Each dish arrives piping hot, served promptly, and bursting with flavor. The only thing to keep in mind is that they accept cash payments only.
Authentic Chinese Food in the heart of Milpitas, California. We’ve been coming back to this place and the owners are very nice people. Excellent Customer Service.
Fast service as the place was packed because the food is delicious! With all the classics along with some great interesting menu choices for the adventurous tasters. I recommend checking this joint out as its now a favorite Cantonese spot of mine. Here pictures is the Mongolian beef that includes white rice side and the lotus leaf wrapped 🍤 fried rice. Wonderful as I am looking forward to returning to try other dishes.
Midnight save, even for a vegetarian! Ordered: Veg hot sour soup w/ tofu, veg spring rolls, veg fried rice, garlic-tofu sizzler, and fish fillet w/ black bean sauce (for the meat partner) Service: super friendly, quick, fresh, clean, masked Food quality: 10/10 Loved everything except the sizzler - just wasn’t my taste as it was sweeter however the marinated tofu was delicious. Best spring rolls! Will be coming back for the soup and spring rolls!
I’ve been coming here for almost a decade. I’m obsessed with the onion pancake, salt and pepper tofu, and kung pao tofu. All very flavorful and satisfying! I miss when it was open til 3am. Now they close earlier, sometimes midnight or1am, it’s best to call and ask.
This place has been a late night go to for me for this past 14 years. The service is a hit or a miss, as it depends on the mood and attitude of the waitress, she can be rude at times. I get it, it's late, your tired, and your doing the same job for the longest time. But don't take out your frustrations on the next customer. The food here is awesome, I love it, and that's why I keep going back, and it's very reasonable for the price. They have delicacies like alligator, deer & rabbit, all prepared beautifully. If you are adventurous, try it.
Everything here is really good, it comes out quick, hot, fresh and packed with flavor. I really recommend coming between 11-2 as they have a great lunch deal for 12 dollars you get an entire plate of rice and meat! However all the other options on the menu are great! I know a lot of people complain about the old guy serving in the front and yes he has a horrible attitude but really Hes just old and tired. I come here three times a week and after three months i saw him smile when he saw me! So dont let him get to you and enjoy your food.
I always go there for my lunch atleast 3/4 times a week. The price and portion is good. I even bring my coworkers for that reason. The only downside is the service. The old man could improve his service though. I am fine with his grumpiness but he scares my coworkers away.
Late night Chinese cash-only takeout spot with lots of unique fried rice dishes and specialty in lotus leaf dishes. Order on the phone or in-person for cheaper prices than online sites. I'd only use the online site to view menu items. Food: Their sides, "Beef Chow Fun" and "Dried Scallop w/ Seafood Fried Rice" were on point with flavors, quality, and texture. The "Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings" were just OK. I am definitely coming back for their sides. Going to need to try all their rice dishes!

Fairly authentic Chinese food! Fair prices and decent portions. Service may not be the best if you don't speak the language, but you aren't here for the service anyways!
This place is great because they close late. The food is pretty standard Chinese food with reasonable prices. Service is the typical old school rude Asian service that is probably a cultural thing. Anyway it doesn't bother us because the food was good. We ordered the combination fried rice, the egg drop soup, and Mongolian beef. Parking is plentiful in the later hours.

Ordered online on their website and went for pick up only to be asked to order again as they don’t do online orders anymore as the prices changed and the website is not up to date. They accept only cash. The food was good, tasty chicken dishes. Wish they told earlier that they don’t accept online orders.
Good food, decent service, decent ambience but the shopping complex is very beautiful. Many Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurants in that complex. Usually very crowded place in the evening. Please make sure you have cash with you when you go here as they don't accept credit or debit cards. This was a big turn off for us.
Chicken & chestnuts clay pot tasted fine, but was all bony chicken wings with only 1 chestnut in whole dish. Green beans were fine. Boiled dumplings had little flavor in pork filling. $50 for 2 is expensive, for the quality. No atmosphere to speak of, but single old waiter was very capable, but curt.
Update: The male waiter is not there. The female waitress is greedy on the tip and change. My bill is $25.65 after tax. She added tip of $3.52 to total of $29.17. Gave her $40 cash, she gave me $10 back. I asked "how come", she told me that they were short of change. She then gave me $0.75 in her mercy. Never met a Chinese person is so bad in math. She reluctantly gave me the 8 cents difference. If I saw her next time, I would order to go for sure. Saw others paying with credit card. Good lunch specials. Cash only.
Came here for a midnight snack. Food was great. We ordered two dishes 1). spicy fish soup with bean sprouts and rice noodles 2).black bean chow fun. The service was terrible. The waitress seemed inconvenienced by our presence and was perturbed that we ordered by saying the dish numbers from the menu - she told us to read the description to her. Very odd behavior.
Came in few minutes before 12 noon. The waitress was mopping the floor with bleach. I thought they open at 11. Filled with bleach smell. Waitress added 15% tip (after tax) to the bill. Even made mistake on the credit card charge amount by adding more to it. Her excuse was she couldn't see well.

Purchased 4 different plates. Salt and pepper pork, beef chow fun, cabbage and mushrooms, and black bean sauce clams $52 bucks. Portions were tiny we finished it between 3 adults and 1 toddler. Great food but very expensive for the portions they gave. I rather go to jade china or king egg rolls for 52 bucks instead of these weakass portions.
The food was fine, but greasy. The service was terrible. We waited for 20 minutes for the server to get our order. When he came to us, we asked if he could recommend us anything on the menu. However, without any response, he just left and started minding his business with other tables, and he did this twice! Although he came back and explained that he was too busy to give us any recommendation. I mean it wouldn’t take him minutes but just seconds to let us know what’s popular on the menu. He chose to left when ordering for us. This was unbelievable to me.

They add tips to you bill after tax, and still ask for extra 15% tips. They try to trick you to tip twice, be careful.

Cranky old man who will ask you to cook your own food if he cannot order it. I cannot leave no tip because they automatically add it to the bill. For the poor service it was not worth $4 at all. I was not pleased with that. Food was a yucky cafeteria style quality mass produced in advance. There are far better restaurants in the area.
An older man walked away as I was placing my order. He returned and snatched my credit card from my hand. I took my card back and left. He was literally sneering at me when I entered the restaurant. Very bizarre and I will never return.
My family and I have eaten at China Palace for a long time. We moved away but this is the place my family always go to when we are in town. We noticed the female owner wasn’t behind the counter today but an older male was there. We went in and the man was on the phone so we moved two tables together to accommodate the party of six. Instead of greeting us, the man is screaming at us in mandarin. I replied in English because I don’t speak mandarin. Then, he screamed at my family in English that this is not our house and he is the owner of the restaurant. Told us to move to another table and threw the menus on the table. He was still screaming. We got up and I told my family that this man doesn’t deserve my money so we left. He should be more grateful to his customers because the restaurant was nearly emptied and badly in need of customers. We will never go back to this place again. Please be aware.
I had the absolute worst experience at this restaurant, and it’s all thanks to the staff—specifically one guy who must’ve woken up on the wrong side of the dumpster. This server was outright rude, snapping at me like I’d personally offended him by daring to order food. His attitude reeked of anger, like he was doing me a favor by slamming the plate down instead of hurling it at my head. I’ve never felt less welcome anywhere. If this is the kind of service they’re proud of, they deserve zero stars. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being treated like garbage.
Worst service you’ll ever get in south bay area. Servers have bad temper and you can’t choose not to tip because it is already included in the receipt.
1) Food is oily. Super oily 2) Forget about service. You will be treated like a poor dog 3) No AC. It’s 32 *C out here and no AC And over all this I paid cash and this old man wants Tip of 5$ 😂 Don’t go here at all. These kind of places should be closed.
This is my go to place for Chinese food. Good portion and reasonable price. I usually see an old man serving all the time and he can be mean sometimes but the lady that served me today was very kind. *changing my review from 5 to 1 now. Worst customer service!!! This old man literally yelled at me yesterday when I went up to order. Then he started slamming the plates of food on our table.
I have never been so scared and intimidated eating at a restaurant. The old man that took and served us was so rude and disrespectful is so alarming. Because we were here as a group and had no other choice after our competition was finished late at night we decided to just sit and ate our food in fear. If the service charge wasn’t on the ticket I wouldn’t have paid any and possibly took action to the owner. But didn’t think the owner cared either. Please come with caution and eat at your own risk. SERIOUSLY!!!
The woman at the restaurant was really rude and disrespectful to customers. The hours on Google aren’t accurate either.
They added service charges for dining in without notifying you. I wasn’t aware of this and leave another tips on the table. They knew it but pretend not to know.
If you don't speak Chinese or are any other Asian, the rude old man will be hateful towards you. When it came to asking for stuff, he would ignore you. With the plates, he literally threw it on the table and will get mad if you try to make space. Plus, the food was mediocre. Do not go here! They will hate crime you! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Order pick up. Server is mean to the customer. And prepare the wrong food. When asked the restaurant, they refused to provide explanation and insist we get the correct food. By the way, food here is crap. Never go to this place unless you want to eat trash food serve by rude server.

The finger is dip inside the water cup, and the table is greasy. The server is mean, and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The price is cheap.

Very unfriendly staff. Then, I ordered my food online. And once I picked it up, I asked if I could sit down and eat and she told me no. Furthermore, the portion size was very small.I ordered mongolian beef and there was more rice and vegetables than there was beef. The food wasn't terrible, but i've had better if it was okay. I definitely would not be going back
I ordered take out two times from this place. First time i ordered a fried rice and the eggs were burnt. 😂 As soon i opened the container, the burnt smell hit me in the face. I never had a burnt fried rice before, so this is comical. 2nd time i ordered a black pepper beef. As im chewing the beef i hear small crunching sound. Kinda like chewing on sand. Ok, i dismiss that as the first bite, but on 3 bite, i was chewing on what seemed like sand in the dish again. Sometimes you get that from ordering clams, but i ordered beef!! I stopped eating it and threw it away. The flavor was somewhat good, but like how can the dishes turn out that strange. No more going here for me.
