I returned to Bay area in 5 years and I miss Lees Sandwich specially spicy grilled pork sandwich. So good. I hope this place survive this pandemic and continue serve awesome sandwiches that I cannot find any other place in the world except Vietnam.
By far the best Lee's I have been too. That is likely because zillions of local Vietnamese also shop here & "demand" excellent food. They bake their own bread & make great sandwiches. I favor the "everything" Combo. One can eat three of these at one sitting, that is how tasty they are. Like some other Lee's they have no problem packing the fixings separately for long distance travel. You can then toast & assemble you sandwiches for a few days at home. If you dine there, always make sure the bread is toasted. There are other interesting Vietnamese goodies on the tables to try. This place is very clean for an Asian place. Service can be a challenge for those who only speak English...but if you persist, there should not be a problem. Unless you have a special request, you can just to point to the number of the item & order it. The fresh baked bread is also a take home bargain. The Combo sandwich is IMHO the best & includes: Ham, Pate, Mayo, Pickled Veges, Hot Peppers, Head Cheese, & more. 1-3 of them will fill you up. For those new to Lee's they have an automated announcing number system. This is a busy location but the line goes fast. Also great for take out. Vietnamese Sandwich snobs can put down Lee's, but these are quite good, even for a chain. If you order a combo anywhere, the same basic ingredients are used...the difference here, is that the bread is freshly baked & hot almost all day long.
I only get the Banh Mi here, generally two #1's. Great value for each sandwich.
Lees has hands down the best spring rolls ever. Fully loaded. The pork shrimp and veggies along with cucumber and the fried wonton paper or something in the spring rolls! Topped my spring roll expectations!
I ORDER DELICIOUS 😋 PORK SANDWICHES 🥪 😋 IT DELICIOUS 😋 I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THUS
If you love Banh Mi, Vietnamese sandwich served in freshly baked French baguette, Lees is the place to get them. They do serve other options including over rice dishes as well as appetizers that will wet your appetite. Most dishes are packaged for quick sale for those on the go. Hot appetizers are kept warm. Cold ones kept chilled. If you're looking for drinks, they make smoothies with pearls too. They do carry grocery items that's common to Asian stores so as you wait for your freshly prepared sandwiches, you can do a little shopping too. The location is very accessible. Parking can be tough especially during lunch hours. Nonetheless, do pickup sandwiches here sometime. They're really good.
Sandwiches were pretty good. I'm not usually a sandwich person, but this place really changed my mind! The bread is very crispy and the fish (my favorite is the fish cake Banh Mi) tastes very good! Will come back for sure.
My first time at a Lee's Sandwich. I actually used to think Lee's Sandwich and Lee's Deli were the same thing, but today I learned they were different. We got a #11 (Special Combination bahn mi) and the service was quick. The bread/baguette was very long and was enough for two people. The price was good ($6.50). It was delicious; I see why people like this place. I will definitely be coming back.
I lived and worked in Orange County and used to love going to Lee's in Westminster. We moved to Idaho and I so missed their sandwiches. Well work brought me to San Jose today so I couldn't wait to go eat there and they didn't disappoint! I have no idea what it is about their sandwiches but they are my favorite. The shrimp spring roll was also really good. Sorry my photo only showed one as I had already devoured the other two :)
The fresh baguettes are always awesome at Lee’s. I’m really enjoying that this location has been filling the sandwiches with even more meat and veggies lately! Stop in for authentic banh mi. Tastes just like in Vietnam!
Picked up a couple of sandwiches - veggie & sardine - early morning on the way to Diablo. Fresh ingredients, good quantity at a great price. Staff was prompt and helpful.
Oh my gosh, the smell of fresh bread 🥖and they have nice coffee.

Wonderful location off 880/680 freeways. They have everything here except for the French butter in the can. Spam and egg, surf and turf, sardines, grilled pork sandwiches here... fresh baguettes, pate, butter in the fridge... ice coffee, pennywort, thai tea drinks... spring rolls, and many more goodies here.
I mom loves it too. Amazing sandwich and it’s fairly cheap.
The grilled pork sandwich tastes great, love the sweetness of the pork and generous pickled veg and cilantro to balance. The only thing I'd do next time is ask for the bread NOT TOASTED because otherwise you will rip a hole through the roof of your mouth and need your jaw unhinged. You're welcome! The place was super busy on a Sunday afternoon, have to give them credit. There's plenty of snacks, drinks and various grab and go items as well. Word of caution: there’s definitely a language barrier. If you speak Vietnamese, you’re in luck. If not, just point, nod and say thank you! :) Don't forget the iced cafe sua da which is like rocket fuel, prepare to blast off afterwards! Overall, love this place. Definitely must try if you're craving Vietnamese food.

With the multiple Lee's locations in the area its hard to state ones better than the other. They're pretty good about quality control and consistency. That being said, the parking in this area can be a little trickier, as the shopping center is very popular.
The sandwiches were so delicious and filling. They tasted so fresh and probably the best sandwich i’ve ever had. The coffee was amazing but i’m giving 4 stars because the coffee was like $8
If you've been to one Lee's, you've been to them all... and that's not a bad thing. You know the quality if solid everywhere you go. The drink selection is always colorful and snacks im always to cautious to try.
The grilled chicken sandwich is very tasty. I usually order no jalapeño, onions and cilantro. The Vietnamese ice coffee has too much ice and sugar. They’re pretty fast. The parking is limited in front of the store. It’s a busy plaza.
A friend brought me here for their steak & cheese sandwiches. I was wondering what the big deal was, but Wow! They're really good! The place appears to cater primarily to Chinese expats, with many unlabeled containers of food items that I didn't recognize. It's not a place that I, an ordinary American, would normally go to. But I must admit, their steak & cheese sandwiches are indeed delicious, made with soft bread.
I do want to like the place a lot as the sandwich filling was so good. It will be 5 stars if bread wasn't so hard to chew that I just ate the filling lol
There are many selections of food and drinks as a fast food store. Food are good and fresh. It is very convenient to bring to park, hiking, picnic, or long distance driving. Service is good too. They can speak English and Vietnamese. Atmosphere is ok. There is no seat inside restaurant but there is a restroom that customers can use.
Food: The selection of food here is huge. They have not only the sandwiches, but a whole bunch of snacks. Their cold products is large and actually cold compared to other Lee's sandwiches. Language: The cashier speaks English & Vietnamese. Services: The employees are busy. They are quick and fast to get your order. The cashier is amazing. Ambience: Very warm. Feels like a mini market. There is 6 small tables. Walls have marking. It can do for a new paint job. It looks more like the Vietnamese style vs the western version that are popping up recently.
Their sandwiches are pretty good and better than traditional sandwiches sold throughout the area. Their drinks are fantastic especially the iced coffee. Service is friendly with lots of varirties of food and snacks. There are three tables seating 4 each.

I actually really appreciate them for helping me out a few times and it says alot about there staff and there establishment. I respect the dignity and character and kindness two of their female staff members have shown. Food is axtualky really good and yeah
I ordered the NY pastrami which was overall fairly good. The meat was a bit cold and rubbery though.

It's a small store but it has big selection of Asian branded foods, deli items, and prepackaged lunches. I stick with the #1 or the grilled pork sandwich (can be a little oily). Pandan/green waffles are not my type. I prefer a thicker waffle with a softer consistency in the center; this one is more akin to a microwaved frozen waffle unfortunately. The Vietnamese iced coffee tastes great but is much more expensive than regular iced coffee at any other coffee house. Happy hour (buy 2 sandwiches get 1 free) is always cool if you want to share some sandwiches or get a couple for lunch the following day (just make sure to refrigerate!).
Overall: 2.7/5 (take out) I used to come here every once in awhile but the food isn't good anymore. Vietnamese Coffee: Tastes exactly like the coffee from the pre-made Lee's Sandwich concentrate bottle. Grilled Pork Skewer ($5): Good amount of meat and tasty. Banh Mi Dac Biet ($7.50): Flavorless. They don't even toast the baguette. The pate or mayo flavors do not come through at all. Sticky Rice ($5): Doesn't seem like they used the correct rice. Flavor wasn't there either. Com Chay Cha Bong L ($11.99): Decent but not worth it. Flavor is barely there so you're just paying for crispy rice. There's no toppings either.
I like the boba drinks and frozen smoothie a lot. The sandwiches are just OK. I don't feel like this place is a good value even with their happy hour sandwich deal. Usually a line and fair service.
Was a bit short staffed when we went. From where we could see it looked like maybe one person in the back and one in the from to assist with the 5 orders that came in and it took a while to get our food. We were hoping it'd be a quick stop. One nice thing though was that they had a buy two get one so despite being a little more pricey for one sandwich than the one near by my home it was a better deal for when we got three. Overall taste was classic Lees
It’s November 27, they’re closed before 630PM. The sign says Thanksgiving day close at 5PM, Thanksgiving day is November 28th. Please put a sign up or give advance notice if you are closing early also on Thanksgiving Eve! Thanks!
A long time Vietnamese sandwich shop, strongly recommend their BBQ chicken sandwich and spring rolls, remember to ask for more sauce.

I have went to this location because it's close to my work and they had one in my hometown! The first two times was great but the third time my sandwich was not so great. My stomach actually doesn't feel great. My meat was burned and crumbly and sandwich put together sloppily. The last orders, everything tasted perfect. The pastries and bread are amazing and baked fresh each morning

Came here a few times, over the past few years. First couple visits were fine, nothing good or bad happened, just a classic Vietnamese sandwich shop. The food was alright. But the last visit was disappointing. After the guy in front of me got his order filled, the sandwich making lady started making a drink...which I did not order...it was probably for the customer after me or for herself... After about 5 minutes the lady finish making the drink, then she went to a rack that had prepared sandwiches, grabbed 2 cold wrapped sandwiches, placed into bags and handed it to me...she could have just handed me the sandwiches before making me stand there for 5 whole minutes for no reason. It would have been ok if she started making fresh sandwiches after making the drink...but she wasted my time and gave me subpar product which drove me to write this review.
This place is a ripoff; charges $8.30 for a large Vietnamese coffee. Owner was so cheap charging me 50cents extra for an extra cup to divide the coffee into 2 cups. Sandwich’s are $8 which is like 400% markup; can’t cost more than $2 for all the ingredients.
The food flavor is not favorable. It’s not a typical Vietnamese cuisine that you’d want one bite after another. In fact, it doesn’t taste much like other Vietnamese food. Feels like it’s made by some amateurs who don’t know what they’re doing. Worse yet, the food has a lot of filler. E.g. the coffee has tons of ice, the rice plate has a disproportionate huge amount of rice, and the sandwich has very little meat. They seem to be afraid of investing in good ingredients in the hope of saving an extra dollar. I gave it an additional star for acting like a good Lee’s Sandwich.
I asked for light ice in my Vietnamese coffee and in order for them to fill it to the top I had to pay another $2.50 😳

I ordered a LARGE coffee and got a large cup of ice with a small amount of coffee filled to the halfway mark. When I asked the worker to please actually fill the cup she was extremely rude, argumentative and refused to do so. Avoid this Lee's at all costs. Very rude and unwilling to reason with something so simple as what an actual large coffee serving should be.
Sandwiches were ok but we bought a new plate of bánh cuốn (the rice rolls) and it already went bad when we opened it that day, which makes me wonder how many days the food had been sitting there. Not many people even on a weekend so food turnover is prob not that fast. Don’t think we will come back.
Super bad service! They treated us poorly and was the first ones to get there and me and my sister ordered the same thing they gave me my order first and my sister and I waited and hour for her order and they gave everyone else that came later on their order. We confronted them calmly and they raised there voices at us and she said we were lying about not getting our order and laughed. She took the Receipt and went to go hide it. Never coming again!
Remember when these very lightly (too little) filled fresh baguette sandwiches were under $3? Now they're $8-$12. We'd rather eat at Quiznos or even Subway Sandwiches than here as Quiznos and Subways are freshly made and satisfying to eat with plenty of customizable sandwich fillings. Lee's Sandwiches are sadly a pass.
I ordered through DoorDash this morning two coffee and a ham and cheese melt. I received a regular sandwich horrible. Can’t pay attention to an order mind you it’s 42 bucks through door Dash so you expect quality and your order to be correct. Sloppy on your side I will never order from your corporate again
Well, i have seen this often but decided to write about it this time. A large coffee is supposed to have a large quantity of coffee and not ice. The cup has 3/4th of the cup filled when served, of which 90% is ice, which means they probably pour 1/4th coffee. I mean, I'm ok with the price point but don't be cheap with your customers at least. Disappointed with this mentality especially in the bay area. Please grow with the local culture!

I ordered large ice coffee with light ice for $7. I ended up got 1/2 filled coffee and ice in a large cup. I was told they couldn't filled the whole cup with less ice order. Why would you tell me when I ordered? I won't pay for $7 with nothing.
Bread was incredibly hard. Tofu extremely chewy cold and flavorless. I calmly asked for my money back and the woman screamed at us in Vietnamese and then proceeded to pint at us while continuing to yell and to other customers while we waited silently for our money back from the sandwiches we STRUGGLED to take one bite from. This experience was gross. Sad. Lees used to be the best. It was worth driving to the bay even though we lived in the valley. Least we can save on gas now.
TELL ME HOW MEAT CAN SIT OUT ALL DAY AND BE SOLD AT ROOM TEMPERATURE! NOT COOL AND WHERE IS THE HEALTH INSPECTORS!!!!! ! WE WENT IN FOR SANDWICHES & WHAT WE DID NOT LIKE IS WE COULD NOT SEE OURS BEING MADE. I DID NOT KNOW THIS Until after we paid so as we are waiting, we are looking around at all the selections that they have out and it was just disgusting so we get our food go to the car to eat, and the smell of the pork sandwich was absolutely disgusting. My husband could not eat it and he loves pork sandwiches but not this one! I got the turkey and ham with a rather funky smell to it. Needless to say I didn’t eat mine either so we wasted $20. If they’re gonna advertise on their sign and name of their stores Lee sandwiches then make the sandwiches infront of the customers do not hide it, especially after seeing meat left out that they sell! SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!
