I enjoyed a thoroughly delicious and stupendous Sunday roast lunch. Meat cooked to perfection, enormous Yorkies and a really good selection of vegetables. Unfortunately I had to resist dessert as I was just to full. Excellent staff, efficient and friendly. Would heartily recommend.
Back for the Carvery for the 4th time and it never disappoints. Welcomed by an efficient, pretty, polite, front of house. Allan the Chef certainly does not hold back with the delicious meats ( Turkey, Beef and Ham) all cooked to perfection. The quality and quantity of the veg huge. As for the Yorkie, we did not know whether to eat it or move into it ( huge ) table service from a beautiful polite young lady, with a white clasp in her hair, all in all, this is prob the best Carvery in SW Scotland. Well worth our 90min round trip from Castle Douglas we'll done BB 5*
Just popped in for a drink and had a sociable evening with a very good craft beer. Lots of customers were having a meal which looked very good. Sadly we had already eaten so we could only watch.
Stayed here overnight with dog. Great place really. Dog friendly bar and place to eat. Food was great. Even got doggy meals. Room was very clean and comfortable. We will be back again
Booked for the carvery for father's day. Had been planning to go with our older daughter as well but she had to work so called the day before to tell them it would just be the three of us. It was superb and well worth the trip. The staff were lovely, friendly and so helpful as we went with a weaning baby, so they brought out a highchair for us and offered to take away the plate they brought out for him as we'd taken one of his own so there was a little less clutter on the table for us, however we thought it was best to just put a bit on his plate at a time, we thought the offer was very attentive and accommodating. And they rinsed the plate and cutlery for us so it was easier to take home. The food itself was brilliant, we had the rainbow falafel and spring rolls to start, really tasty. Then the carvery was superb, you help yourself to veggies while the chef carves you the meat you request. I had some of everything as it all looked incredible, and it was. The beef was lovely and rare, the turkey was great and not overcooked like it can so easily be and the gammon was lovely and not too salty either. The Yorkie was superb, the stuffing ball, the veggies all beautiful. Went away absolutely stuffed and very happy. The bar itself is a beautiful setting and has a lovely feeling. Would absolutely book again.
We didn't stay here so cannot rate the rooms, however the food here was amazing. We walked in about five to nine and they stop serving at nine, however they were happy to make us something. We ordered the sharing platter and dirty fries, we were glad we did as it was demolished. Cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner
Lovely pub - walked into Moffat from the green frog campsite - called in for a drink and ended up staying for a new batch of Guiness stew - we were not disappointed it was delicious - friendly atmosphere when we walked in and also dog friendly
The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The service was very friendly and with a sense of urgency. The bar and restaurant don't open until late afternoon and are closed Monday and Tuesday, but the meals are exceptional. Sunday is meat carving day. I'll hit that next time, because I'll be back. Located in a beautiful, art deco type town nestled in the hills. GORGEOUS!!
2nd visit. This time for food. Great cosy pub with a brilliant selection of beers & gins. Love the attention to detail with the gin garnishes. Decent range of alcohol free stuff too. Food was very good and service friendly and efficient. Particularly as it was a busy night and tables were in high demand. Nice wee outdoor area for the better weather. Will def be back.
Right next to shepherds cottage where we stayed , stopped in for a pint, dogs welcome, service great , wee group playing, nice atmosphere, prices reasonable
My lovely Wife Maggie and I had a lovely dinner here. We had pork chops, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection. It was delicious, well plated. Our server Shannon was excellent. We would definitely recommend to come and dine here. We would happily do so again, maybe next time we return to Scotland we will. We are on holiday here from Canada. Scotland you have been lovely. If you ever come to Scotland, and visit Moffat, come to The Black Bull Inn. Highly recommended.
Stayed for one night over a weekend. Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and attentive despite it being quite busy. The food was really great, very flavourful and fresh. Great location and very dog friendly. Would recommend
I didn’t sleep over so please don’t take the rooms into account in this review. However, I had a lovely dinner here after walking in when the place I was staying had a function on. Very nice! Very cosy! The waiting staff were polite and accommodating. Have some faith in yourselves, you’ve got this! Lovely menu, the pie could have done with a little more gravy but that’s my fault, I could have asked. Overall very nice dinner! Seemed very popular too!
Had booked a table for 3 on-line for today for Sunday Roast. Table in a perfect position as my Mum is disabled. Food and service absolutely brilliant. Plates warm, food was delicious. Black Bull Inn Moffat is a must if you like good foodm
It is a very welcoming and friendly pub. Has a good selection of beers, wine and spirits. Has a very good menu and the food looks very good. There is a nice outside sitting area. Plenty of tables inside. They are dog friendly. At busy times it would advisable to book a table if eating. There is rooms available but you would need to check their website.
We stayed at the BB for one night on our way to the Scottish Highlands. What a gem of a place for a stop over. Luckily for us it was a Sunday so we got to sample their carvery and it didn’t disappoint. Very dog friendly as we had our Poodle girls with us. Highly recommend. ❤️
We dined outside nearly four years ago in the middle of covid and it was a nice experience, so on returning to Moffat we decided to return and dine inside. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady and we sat in the bar area which was very comfortable with a lovely ambience and a nicely lit fire. The service was fantastic and the food was freshly cooked with quality ingredients, at the right temperature and very well presented. The food was very tasty, both of us clearing our plates. The other members of staff were also friendly and professional. Toilets were spotless too. Will definitely be returning to this lovely place when I next return to Moffat (and not waiting nearly 4 years for the next visit!). Thanks again for a lovely experience. Highly recommended👍😀👍
Treated ourselves to a big meal here tonight - our second visit - and were just as impressed as the first time. Absolutely gorgeous food, great selection of drinks, and super-helpful and friendly staff. Special mention to Sian (think that was her name) who was a great host and was also very knowledgeable about the drinks available and arranged for extra sauce for us. Great customer service. Highly recommended. Update: Staying in Moffat overnight last night on our way to the Far North we decided to eat at the Black Bull again, a delayed birthday meal for my partner. We were delighted to find a Sunday Carvery was being served so we had that, and it was nothing short of superb, with perfectly cooked meat and Yorkshire Puddings so fluffy they were more like huge profiteroles than the crunchy, brittle abominations you get at many franchise carveries. I felt I had to congratulate the chef, which he really appreciated. I have to say again how good the young staff are in the pub: very friendly and enthusiastic, without being pushy, very efficient even though they were clearly run off their feet, and nothing was too much trouble. There was a bit of a mix up with our bill at the end but it was sorted out quickly and with no faffing by Shannon, which was good. So, congratulations again to everyone there.
We stayed in a dog friendly garden room which is excellent as right on the wee lane so easy to take pup out. The room was huge and exceeded expectations the website photos don’t do it justice. Free standing bath in the room was a bonus and so relaxing after a busy day. The whole place was spotless. Breakfast was tasty & excellent service from the waitress. Dinner was a hearty pub meal, we had the haggis pie. Slept really well. Lots of free parking in the surrounding streets. Wanted to stay another night so will definitely return.
A traditional, welcoming Pub/Inn with great food, awesome staff and a cracking atmosphere. Stopped off here for a bite to eat travelling back to England from Edinburgh. The Inn prides itself on being a finalist and winner for a variety of awards, and it’s not hard to see why. We were seated in the snug on arrival and drinks were sorted for us within minutes. The establishment is incredibly clued up with dietary requirements, there are plenty of gluten free options and they even have an entire vegan menu. I myself having allergies am always pleased to see this level of inclusivity and awareness. I went with the burger and chips and a hazy IPA recommended by our waitress. The food was delicious and the ale was nice too. The vibe of the pub is absolutely class and all staff members on site are lovely. If the accommodation lives up to the standard the dining area sets, I have no doubt the rooms on site will be great as well. Can definitely recommend visiting here if you’re passing or are local to the area and have never been. Hope to return some time in the future, thanks to all the team for a lovely meal and experience.
Stayed in a dog friendly room which was a suite opposite the pub - absolutely beautiful. Room furnished to a high standard, bed comfortable. Everything really clean including the bath. We ate in the pub the night before, lovely food, again pub furnished to a high standard. Breakfast was £13 each but food was lovely and the gentleman who served us was attentive and friendly. Great location for Moffat or a stop over on your way through Scotland and would stay again any time!
Dog friendly pub with an excellent, generous Sunday Carvery. Helpful team found us a table and made sure we were completely satisfied with a delicious meal even though it was nearly end of service at 7pm. Highly recommend.
Excellent! The staff are friendly, Craft ales are superb and the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. A Must Visit venue if you live in or are passing through Moffat. 5*
Went fo Sunday lunch as its dog friendly. The carvery was absolutely gorgeous, staff were great and it had a great selection of drinks..
We had our lunch at The Black Bull today. And had a great experience, the welcome was warm and friendly, the gent who created us explained they were busy but they would make sure we got fed although we might have a twenty minutes wait for food as they were very busy. As we were in no hurry this was very acceptable to us. We were given a booth and the gent returned after greeting another group and took our drink order to keep us going, we said that we had both decided on our food order and he could take it to save him returning. We were happily waiting for our food expecting a twentyish minute wait and were pleasantly surprised at the speed that our food arrived . I had a burger and the other half had a chicken burger, both burgers were piping hot and well cooked The quality of the ingredients was excellent and a special mention for the bacon which was cooked to perfection. If you are ever in Moffat put this place top of your list to eat at. We will be back to stay and give the hotel rooms a try.
Can't rate the rooms as we didn't stay here . We can however rate the food , atmosphere and service . We work close by so decided to give the Sunday carvery a try so we can then recommend it to our guests . I have to say the carvery was excellent . The meat was cooked to perfection tender juicy and plenty of it , the range of vegetables may not be the same as you get in the big chain carvery. But there was definitely a wide choice, all cooked just right not over or under done . Desert was very moreish , the apple crumble was tasty lovely soft apple spiced just right, the crumble topping was crispy and just right all in all good value for the money we will definitely be recommending a visit and I'm sure we will be back very soon
Stayed at the Black Bull as a stop off coming down from Skye. The room was perfect for our family of four with bunk beds and toys for the little ones and a very thoughtful dog tray with bowls, blankets and even some food. It was perfect after a long day of driving. We will definitely be making it our go to place to stay whenever we are in the area.
Staying on the campsite in Moffat and booked in for the Sunday Carvery at the Black Bull. Wow what a lovely meal. Choice of 3 meats ..... or all 3 if you can't make up your mind then help yourself to mash potatoes, roast potatoes, 3 veg plus cauliflower/broccoli cheese, stuffing balls, yorkshire pudding, pork crackling and gravy - and only £18.95 per person. Sides of pigs in blanket and roast parsnips are extra. It was really delicious, the staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They brought a bowl of water for our dog and there is a doggy menu too. I highly recommend this place and when holidaying in Scotland again would definitely revisit.
Has been totally revamped sympathetically since last visit years ago. Has rooms in an annexe on the lane at the side but we didn't experience those. Pleasant interior/beer garden. Dog friendly inside and out. Inside felt comfortable and shady and cool. Bar area and server were pleasant with good choice of drinks, real ales etc. Husband had a nice pint of lager and I had a house white wine. Reasonable prices too. Only 1 thing though, can only seem to enter bar from beer garden as door on Main road has been blocked off since last visit. Will have a return visit before summer is over.
Vegan wine options and dog friendly great space with timber rafters
We had a one-night stay here on our way further North. We absolutely loved it and will hope to return. The team have thought of everything for children and dogs and our family room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The food was superb, especially the Tam O’Shanter burger which was the best I have ever had. Thank you!
Landlord and staff obliging and very efficient, although we we didn't vacate there, the bar was well run and the food was excellent with a wide choice, very clean, also dogs welcome with there own food menu, nice touch.
Amazing place to stay, room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. The food that is served here is fantastic (I’d recommend the lasagna) The staff are really friendly and extremely helpful.
This is a well restored and updated old Inn with plenty seating indoors and out which is famously dog friendly. The whole place is very clean and a bit dark as was the result of the architecture of the day but the soft lighting inside the bar and dining area is just enough to read the menu without squinting. A good choice of beer and ales are offered as well as a wide range of spirits and wines to go with your meals. If you are hungry then go for the ribs. They are massive and I also added the chicken breast. All of which is undeniably fresh and homemade. The fishcakes were much lighter and had a nice citrus sauce with them. Overall a very nice place and well located, a little dark and slightly slow service for me but I would recommend and go back again
Nice interior. Service hit and miss. I feel this was more to do with the lack of staff rather then any thing else. I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years and understand how difficult this can be. I have been told that Moffat has a shortage of wating staff. The staff were welcoming and polite. The food was very scrummy. I'm very disappointed that the Black Bull ribs were not beef but pork...... if I had known this, I would have ordered something else. Due to the amount of fat you tend to get with pork and it never seems to fall off the bone as beef does. Having said that, it was massive and nice. The fish pie was lovely. They serve a wide choice of gins and other drinks. Will be back and worth a visit. I would recommend booking
We had Sunday lunch here (Carvery). Great selection of meats and vegetables - plenty to choose from. There Yorkshire puddings looked great but we're too big, stodgy and cold. The service was mediocre - I didn't feel as though the staff cared about their guests. I would recommend a visit for Sunday lunch and some smiles wouldn't go amiss 😁😁
Good atmosphere. Dogs allowed on a lead. Service was ok and the food ( fish and chips) was excellent.
The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The only thing lacking about our visit and the reason for a four star is the service was poor. We waited much longer than usual for drinks, when we finished our meals we had to go back to the bar area to ask and then it took too long to be served. This pub has masses of potential and perhaps we just caught it on a bad night
Went for Sunday lunch, it was ok. Plates for the carvery dangerously hot, A HAZARD. Meals were ok. Desserts were nice with a teaspoon of custard. The ice cream was sorbet which if we'd known we wouldn't have bothered with. Would probably go back if in area.
Fully booked the first night we tried, we used the on line table booking service for the following evening and this worked really well. Very atmospheric with many of the original features of an old coaching inn. Warmly welcomed with our big dog in tow, nothing was too much trouble. Good selection of dishes available. My partner is both coeliac and diabetic so the separate gluten free menu was a big plus. The food was of a high standard and plentiful at what is probably the average price for eating out these days. We'll return to Moffat and we'll return to the Black Bull
Ate here last week for Sunday lunch. Food more than acceptable, and a pleasant meal overall. However, after paying the bill, with a tip included, we realised we had been overcharged. I raised this with the establishment via email, basically asking for the cost of the items we had received, and the subsequent bill price. To date, no reply has been received, which is somewhat disappointing. The moral of the story is, make sure you have your reading glasses to check the bill, and don't assume that the pricing is correct. Mistakes can be made, but an appreciation of your customer's concern is always welcome.
Apparently voted 14th best pub for dogs, they accept dogs, but no offer of treats or water, unlike the pub across the road. Nevertheless the food and seevice was excellent
We have been here a couple of times in previous years for dinner, so went in today, booked a table and went back for dinner an hour later. On arrival we were assigned our table, went to the bar and ordered drinks, two glasses of water with lime, became lime cordial! No menus given, after 10 mins we had to ask for them. The menu offered a few starters and I ordered 2 starters as i didn’t fancy the ONLY other option which was carvery . The other 3 in my party ordered that. 20 mins later, there is nothing, soup a simple order?!?! So the other 3 go to the carvery counter and are sent packing, because you don’t go to the carvery until you are supplied with a plate! So 10 mins later, after asking or reminding we got plates which couldn’t be held as they were that warm, as there were no napkins, they sat for a further 5 mins until the plates were cool enough to hold. So they head to the carvery and start helping themselves (as that’s what you do at a carvery) there was no server so presumably you just help yourself! Nope, was told off for helping themselves to meat as apparently this is served to you by whoever wasn’t there to serve!!! Anyway they eventually get their dinner! Which was fine. Meanwhile my 2 starters have become a figment of my imagination as they haven’t came to fruition! Then a waitress comes over and asks “is everything ok”? Eh no, i!m waiting on my soup , oh i,ll go check into that, so 5 mins later my pepper & chill soup arrives (flavoured water with no substance, shameful charging people for that!) Then i had to ask for the other starter, dirty fries, oh i’ll get those for you! Soup was left as were the dirty fries with wild boar & chorizo, the chorizo had left the building! The most disappointing meal we’ve had in years, the staff were so ineffective it was woeful, one guy , possibly manager behind the bar, was the only one who looked like he was trying to manage things, but the rest, no! Sorry but this was our experience, hopefully things improve for their customers but that won’t be us!!!!
Two tips: If you are thinking of eating here then make sure you book in advance, or you could end up waiting outside in the cold and damp with only limited cover. If you are going for a drink make sure you tell the staff and that they give you a table that they aren’t going to kick you off. We went in at 5:30 and we were told that the kitchen was open until 7:30. So we went back at 6 to have a couple of drinks before getting our order in. Unfortunately at 6:30 the landlady came to our table and informed us that the table was (now) booked from 7, even though we had got ourselves menus and were making our minds up. I was taken by surprise and didn’t argue, so we just upped and left. Very poor customer service, which is a shame because it is a nice bar with good drinks. Obviously I can’t comment on the food… Having read the reply below I feel I need to come back on this.Actually I wasn’t there on a Sunday, I was there on a Wednesday. This guy on the Sunday sounds like a real jerk.
Dined in bistro. Have to say that I wasn't impressed with the ribs, which were mainly a huge lump of fat attached to bones. What meat there was was tough. I took the option of adding chicken, which was okay. My wife had beef and ale pie, which she said was acceptable. On a plus side, the beer is excellent. The establishment prides itself in being dog friendly, but don't let that put you off if you aren't a dog owner, because the bistro is dog free. There's a separate dining area for people who have dogs.
We visited on Saturday 28 September. The hotel itself is lovely. Inside is lovely and cosy. Outside area was very good too. It was very busy inside and due to having the dog we opted to sit outside. Asked if we could possibly have food and were told no as we were sitting outside. (We weren't the only ones told this, the table of 4 gentlemen next to us were told the same). After sitting for 20mins or so with drinks, a couple sat across from us and 10 mins later were served food outside! This was very disappointing as we had been recommended the hotel by a friend who had visited the week before. Even if it had been too busy at the time we arrived, they could have told us if we waited 30 mins or so they could serve us. We would happily have done this as my granddaughter was asleep at the time. Such as shame as food looked lovely but will sadly put us off returning the next time we are down in Moffat.
Thought we had found the perfect central place for our family to have a regular sunday meet up. Unfortunately we hadn’t realised that on a sunday the only option for food in the carvery. As 2 of our party are vegetarian that was very suitable and there was very little (no) choice for them. We had to wait over an hour for any food. Which really wasn’t worth waiting for. We paid and went else where for pudding. Edited to add… you have us muddled up with someone else. We were not offered any other vegetation options. Infact we were totally ignored by staff for about an hour. We did not complain, infact we added £10 to our bill as a tip for your staff.
My wife and I booked a table in the restaurant, there is plenty of choice on the menu, however we were both really looking forward to the carvery. The experience didn’t start well as on entry we were left waiting for some while while 4 younger members of staff debated on what numbers should be chalked on their named chalk boards behind the bar, more disappointing was the young lady in front of us waiting to pay for her meal who was also ignored! We were eventually taken to our table and given menus and asked what we’d like to drink, cider for my wife, however I wanted to try one of the local beers so followed the young girl to the bar, an excellent choice so I asked the girl, based on her knowledge can you recommend a beer, but not too strong….., NO was the simple answer, not ideal when tourists visit the pub and expect that extra bit of knowledge and customer service, you don’t need to drink the beer to have some knowledge of them! I returned to my table where our extremely hot plates followed shortly afterwards, however we decided to wait for our drinks to arrive before going up for our carvery, and wait, and wait we did, nearly 10 minutes had passed before I had to ask where our drinks were, the drinks arrived shortly afterwards with an apology, apparently my drinks order had been forgotten about, despite me giving the order to the same girl! We then proceeded to go and get our carvery, and very nice it looked, we had all 3 meats with all the trimmings and very nice it tasted, however it would have tasted even better if it was hot! All the veg including the potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding was very lukewarm, now I know what the extremely hot plates were for….., to heat the food up! Had the veg been cold then we definitely would have said something at the time, however we hadn’t eaten all day so we decided to just shut up and eat. It was a shame and probably we were just unlucky, because the food was tasty (including the biscuit cheesecake my wife had) and the atmosphere was really cosy, however we went there based on a recommendation, but based on our experience on the night the carvery trolley clearly needs a service and some customer service training needs to be given to the younger staff. Based on the pubs website page and the previous TV history; Would I stay (visit) here again………, NO !!!
My partner and I stopped here on our way through Moffat for an evening meal. The pub is very attractive and welcoming inside, staff were also quite friendly. However the food itself was very poor and the menu is over ambitious and not reflective of the ability of the kitchen. My partner has fish and chips which was soggy and not very pleasant. I ordered the mussels which were supposedly in a white wine sauce but tasted of just cream. The mussels themselves were overcooked and mostly closed or broken shells with an off taste which made me cautious of the quality and I therefore left the majority. I later suffered with an upset stomach which I suspect the mussels were the cause. To their credit, the dish was removed from the bill when I mentioned this to staff and they were very polite and apologetic. It's not somewhere we would choose to stop at again for food but seems like a nice place to have a drink.
We went for a family meal. The service was great and the food was quite good. My son had got the huge ribs, were massive and tasty.my other son and I had the burger, my wife the pasta. Great selection of beers and gins. Edit; unfortunately it's went down hill, food not great at all.The food wasn't great, lasagne had practically no white sauce, tge burgers taste like heated frozen, not fresh anyway as rubbery as anything The owner called me a liar when I asked why they dont serve the big ribs anymore, * its actually mentioned in my original review how big they were, she flat out argued they never served them In 7 years, although I've got a picture and was only reason we go back my son wanted them. To call your customer a liar is so unprofessional. She was confrontational and I only asked when they'd be getting the big rib back for goodness sake. I didn't want any money off the bill or anything like that just a question that desended into poor customer service and unprofessionalism . Even when I just tried to a comparison in size with my fingers, she then stated saying stop pointing when I had 2 fingers out showing size of ribs before. You really can make up how unprofessionally she dealt with a basic inquiry not a complaint. Won't be back, plenty other places In Moffat offering better service and food that don't call customers liars on what's been served previously. Still can't believe she dealt with a basic enquiry so badly and alienated a regular customer
Had a table booked for dinner this evening, 6-30 restaurant doesn't open until 5. We were shown to a table, the young lady was very pleasant said she would return to take our drinks order we ordered a pint of Heavenly and a brandy and dry ginger. The young lady returned very nervous looking to say they had no dry ginger, I said I would have lemonade she returned shortly to say the don't have any Brandy. I ordered a coke. After looking through the menu I asked what the pie was this evening having gone away to check she returned to say there was no pie. Absolutely abismal, they obviously survive on there previous reviews.
Had a family meal here whilst on holiday and the service was beyond poor. Took over an hour to receive food after ordering, we had to keep asking for our drinks multiple times. Two family members had the prawn and crab linguine and came with 4 prawns, no crab, raw onion and a poor sauce for a price of £16. After raising this concern the member off staff didn't want to listen. Whist waiting for our pudding in the 2nd hour of being there, a member of staff told us we had to leave the table in 15 minutes so they could use it for other people. If it takes 2 hours to serve a 2 course meal that's their problem. At the end when we received the bill they did not discount anything for the poor food and service. So we went to the bar and it took several members of staff to discount 1 of the linguines. Absolutely shocking standards. Do better black bull
Walked in with 4 children and 2 adults to have lunch. We were the only ones in. They took our drink order but wouldn't take meal order. Brought drinks less 1. Had to order again. They still wouldn't take food order at the time. Waited 20 mins and asked staff to order food, they then said it would be a long wait as there busy now. (Joke). With 4 kids, all we wanted was food.! As we were leaving staff said thank god there leaving, we can't cope. Won't be going back any time soon.
The food for the most part was awful. The smoker in the garden area indicated that the ribs would be nice, they weren’t. In fact the ribs were not cooked on the smoker and appeared to have come straight from the freezer, they had that plastic texture, the bbq sauce was nice but the ribs had not been marinated or dry cured. The chips were cooked in oil that was not hot enough so they sucked it in. Of the three of us only the taco chips were nice. I tried the guacamole it’s was out of a jar and not fresh. I don’t hate anyone enough to recommend they eat here.
Been before and was great, However , not so much this time. Place was fairly quiet in the Friday but couldn't serve us food , so we thought ok fair enough and went elsewhere. Went back again on the Saturday and my wife asked if they had a table available for 6 ( Place was empty ) , waitress , simply stated " Nope" and that was that, no other words or explanation. If that's their attitude now, no wonder the place was empty.
Dines here last Wednesday evening. Overall it was a disaster unfortunately . Starters were ok a d came as planned. Then two of the mains arrived but after 25 mins the other two had still not landed . I went to the bar area to find someone but nobody seemed to be around. The young lad then arrived at our table to see if we had finished and we pointed out two mains were still outstanding . I did ask to speak to the manager but this fell on deaf ears. The young waitress then came and it was clear we were not going to get them and she ended up taking the other two mains off the bill .She did kindly suggest that the fish and chip shop may now be our best option . Overall I cannot recommend this establishment..
Went in for food staff said kitchen closes at 4.45pm at 4.44pm but then came back and said if you are quick we can make something, I should have left when I had the chance, this pub has so many signs telling you they have won so many award well in 2022 possibly under different management or the chef left ,soup like mushy peas with no salt the Nachos what can I say a bag of crisps is bigger 😀 honestly you couldn't make this up!! The sauce in a paper cup robbed from McDonald's I think omg haggis balls crematorium style burnt to a crisp apart from that it was OK. AVOID AVOID AVOID
