This place gets a 5 because the food is always on point ! The service? Now that's another story. The waitresses are all no caring ( no matter who she is. They are all that way.) You have to get up and go find one. Not because there ain't enough but because they dont care.I got a waitress named Crystol this time and thank goodnss,she came back . She was perfect. Refilled our drinks twice. Brought everything that went with the order the first time. Moral of this story ? Eat here by all means. Well worth the money. Food always great but......pray you get Crystol or you'll be full but ticked off. Better yet, ask for her when you walk in.And if she aint there go ahead and stay and eat but take your tylenol,you'll wish you had.

This place is perfectly… reviewed, it’s definitely a 4.5 but I’ll round up to a 5. I was forced to take a detour in brownwood and had a friend who grew up here recommend this place to me. It was delicious, the portion was large, the salsa that came with the chips had a hint of spiciness but wasn’t overwhelming. The French sauce tasted slightly like orange and a bit sweet. I ordered the chicken bacon salad to be… “healthy” and the fajita chicken was flavorful, I didn’t get food poisoning and it was enough for 2 meals. It was sincerely good and that combined with the service which I was very satisfied with makes me want to stop by again if I’m ever in Brownswood. Overall good spot in a small town!

Good food and good service, salsa was a little bland but our food was full of flavor. Loved it! Fast service we had a party of 7 and next group to enter was a party of 20, and no delay in our service.

They atmosphere was light and vibrant and liked the upbeat music playing. The service was excellent. We were well-attended and our server was very polite and professional. The food was good. The taco was a little bland and I'm not a fan of Tex Mex so I didn't care for the seasoning on the chicken but I tried my husband's carnitas and they were delicious.

Had a great meal based on the waitress suggestion. The salsa verde just added that something extra to make taco jalisco super. The charo beans were great. They have a small bar area with $1 off for draft beer during happy hour.

We had a good afternoon meal and rather enjoyed the experience. I had the chimichangas and my wife had the mole enchiladas. Both with rice and beans. The mole enchiladas rated at about an 8. Bit spicier that what she generally prefers but didn't kill her. Beans and rice were both about the same 8. Also had chips and salsa. Chips were good and crispy and salsa was o.k. chips an 8+ and salsa probably a 7ish. My chimichangas with steak were very crispy, in a good way. The meat was fresh inside and the cheese sauce was pretty tasty. When it comes to this meal it's hit or miss at most places. La Botana hit for a 9 on my entree. Beans and rice for me were tasty and had some good flavors. About an 8 for me as well. The beer was nice and cold. Not many choices on tap. 4 I believe. But XX was available and it was pretty good. Overall a 9. Selection... I would have preferred a cold Shiner or even a dark Modela. Wife had a house margarita on the rocks dressed. She gave it an 8. Enjoyed it and realized it wasn't supposed to be fancy. Was not bitter, which is a typical complaint for a house margarita. She liked it. Our server was a young man likely in his early 20s. Great attitude, nice and quite competent. Took good care of us. Very noteworthy is to say that while my wife was talking to me, he came close to our table, but not up in our grill and he waited for my wife to finish saying a thought and waited until we addressed his directly, meaning he was patient and respectful as to not just walk up and interrupt my wife. We thought that was pretty awesome of him. Atmosphere was alright. Included some pictures. The bar area was small, but I could see sitting there if we wanted to get a quick drink. Quaint area. Nice experience overall. Would totally go again when we are in town. And as a side note. We also went to Fuzzy that same day and she got a margarita there also. La Botana's margarita was far better.

Hot Sauce and chips are good as usual. I went for something different this trip and chose the Molcajete filled with chicken,beef,cactus,shrimp,and cheese. I was a little disappointed. First was the temperature, barley Luke warm and certainly not hot as it should be. Underneath the cold items ontop was an enormous amount of cactus strips,bell peppers, and onions. It was obvious filler to not have to put in more expensive items. There should have been Salsa poured into the middle however, I think the forgot. It was all very dry and over cooked. All the meat was cut into small pieces and hard to find with all the veggies around it. Beans and rice good as usual. The portion was good, flavor was good however execution wasn’t the best. I’ll probably stick with the rest of the menu which has always been very good.

Not a Tex-Mex fan (anywhere) but the food on the "House Specialty Plates" menu are awesome. Try the "Molcajete" or "La Azteca". The prices on those may scare you at first but they are big enough to feed two or take home a second serving for later. Or maybe you’re just super hungry like I usually am.You will be full and delighted! We always sit in the bar area and the service is good and fast. "Jalapeño Margarita" is super good too. It is definitely worth a visit!

Our waitress was great, my food was not. My fajita chicken was inedible in my taco salad. Their hot sauce, guac and lemonade are good! I'll be back for some lemonade.

Passing through and stopped for dinner. I had the Birra tacos and my coworker had the quesadillas. The Birra tacos were ok, but I have had better. They were more like normal tacos in the sense that it opened up. I'm use to them being stuck from the cheese on both sides. The rice was good! I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants where the rice was not worth it. Overall, it was a meal that fulfilled its purpose.

Food was pretty good but the lighting was so dim that it made it difficult to read the menus and to see the food. The waitress was very busy and had to wait several tables plus help the bar. The Large Queso wasn’t very large, more like a medium.

Well chips was great salsa is okay my fajitas well they just taste blank maybe a little Seasoning might help. Very nice waitress but again the fajitas need some flavor. And the tortillas they taste great but they're the same size of the Corn I don't know I've never seen tortillas that small. But they was good

Had stopped going here because service and food were very slow to reach the table. Gave it a couple of yrs, when we went back the service was really good and the food was delicious. I've gone back several since, and everything was really good. Then on 07/23/25 we to eat, service was slow again and we didn't get all that we had ordered and the wife's beer never did make it to us. Asked the waitress several times to fix it. After that, all we received was attitude from the waitress and watched her make little comments to the hostess as they looked at us. If (big if) we go back, I will ask to change sections if we get the same waitress. First time in my life I ever UNDER tipped.

We came in for a birthday dinner for my daughter. About 12 of us. Took drink order and brought drinks. I informed server I did not get my water. 10 min asked server for my water again. Took food order. 10 more minutes asked for my drink AGAIN. My wife had to go to the service stand and get my drink. Very poor service. Not attentive to customers needs at all. Food was amazing. Don’t think I’ll be back for a while.
