One of two bars open past 9pm in the area. This has a local feel, but gets packed on a Friday night. Drinks were cheap but tasty, and food was good as well. Had a blast and bartenders were nice!

I always have a great time at Legends. I usually drink seltzer water but, they have such a huge selection of hard alcohol, I actually drank a fee of then

We were in town for the night, read the reviews which were discouraging but decided to give it a try anyway since they were open late. My husband and I had such a great time. Big shout out to Megan our bartender!! She was amazing !! We love you Megan hope you had a great birthday 🫶 Btw.. locals made us feel like family, loved this place.

Best bar in town. Amazing bartenders, good music and a pool table. Had a great time last weekend making new friends, getting treated to generous pouring of drinks and more. Food is supplied via a window to the neighboring pizza joint. Loved their basil pesto slice and garlic bread.

Good dive bar. Have a pool table and a long bar with tons of alcohol to choose from. Pretty sure they can mix and make anything. Good and strong drinks. Not pricey. If you need a good drink or just want to stop in to get a beer, it's the perfect spot.

Favorite bar in Morro. Always a lively pool table of personalities and bartenders keep everyone in comfort. Have met some favorite strangers here during travels up and down the coast.

The place is called Sabettas and it has really good pizza plus other good food. We had a combination with extra cheese and a Hawaiian with extra cheese. We always have to have this pizza when we come for a weekend getaway. They bring it to your table piping hot and the crust is crispy just the way we love it. This is one place that our kids love to go get pizza ❤️🤤

Great dive bar with variety of taps, super friendly bartenders, and the BBQ place that you can order through the service window (pizza is gone) has the best smoked chicken I've had in my life, tri-tip really good too.

FOR THE INITIATED. I love a good dark, dirty dive. This place hits all the marks. + Amazing, cheap drink prices that can't be beat + Chill and friendly bartenders + Eccentric patrons -- you can meet a lot of the Morro Bay regulars slurring and stumbling through here + FREE POPCORN! + Great HH drink deals + Order pizza next door from Sabetta's Pizza through the little window in the back. Pizza is decent and fairly priced. + Billiards table and plenty of seating Just an all around good neighborhood bar.

Okay so what everyone is not telling you. Happy hour 2-6pm that’s it no late happy hour. Slices of pizza bomb af!!! And $2.75 during happy hour. Costco size slices though and regular price like $3.75. Bartenders awesome as hell and make you feel at home. Bar window for pizza is lit af and made fresh. Am I drinking while writing this... yes I am. Will I come back yes!

10 out of 10. Classic dive bar. Sports on the tv. The locals are great people and the drinks are poured with a heavy hand. 100 percent would come back. Shout out to the bartender James! Thanks!

Cool dive bar. Whole marg selection I didn’t see till after I ordered a beer. They have a bbq place next for you can order and the door comes to a little window. Legonds doesn’t serve food but you can bring outside food in. Fried green tomatoes and all the good bbq veggie sides from next door. Pool table. Dog friendly inside. But there are also local off leash dogs that walk around… not ideal. Very cool bar tenders and relaxed space

Janaca was my bartenderess. Absolute smoke show. Not a zombie.. that is always a plus. She looks like beetlejuice’s sister. She was knowledgeable about handcrafted drinks and local lore. Really good shooters. Bitchin’ vibes. Killer music. Cold beer. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice atmosphere, lot’s of history. Good price for a great cocktail! The hours at Legends At the Old Circle Inn are 11:00am till close or 2:00 am, which ever comes first. Good isn’t prepared or served here, but one can order food from the BBQ place next door (through at window in the corner by the the bar) and they’ll fix you up with some good food.

My sister and I took a walk down memory lane that included having a couple of drinks here for her birthday - the same bar where she had her first legal drink over 20 years ago. Ed is a great bartender and pours a stellar old fashion. This place is worth a stop if you are in the area!

Went for Happy Hour (vodka sodas were good) and the place was clean, great music and atmosphere. The best part is that you can order from the pizza shop next door from a cut out window. The bartender was pleasant and engaging.

Drinks service was friendly, fast, and excellent with a wide range of choices. Was a nice environment for relaxing conversation. They depend on the shop next door for food service, which turned out to be unexpectedly closed.

Went here to have a drink after a day of driving on CA1 south during my road trip. They have Friendly staff and regular customers. I didn't feel it out of place and had a fun time meeting some of the locals. The window to order pizza from next door was cool.

I guess it depends on the bar tender as there are many similar negative reviews. But on the night I visited I was a very nicely made, strong, old fashioned. My bartender was a nice brunette woman. Unlike the comments about other bartenders she was was very courteous and without sass. She seemed to know all the regulars too, so that's pretty cool. The bar is interesting as there are a lot of old pictures about the cities past. It's a nice place to bring a group of friends around(guaranteed if these bar tender is around!)

Tiny iddy bitty tacos for $6.50 is ridiculous, though the chefs were pretty nice. And the tacos were good. Drinks were subpar, and service... one barber for a completely swamped crowd. Poor guy!!! He held his own but well never host another gathering event there. And we've over 2K members along the central coast. Always a fun place when with a great crowd otherwise.

Good location, easy place to pop in for pre-show drinks if you're waiting for the Siren's stores to open. however, the bartender is very slow. Plan on a minimum 15 to 20 minutes to get you drink ordered, even when it's not very busy.

On my 2nd day in Morro Bay I passed by Legends on my way to get coffee, the person who was opening the bar for the day said good morning and wished me a nice day in a most friendly way. Based on that morning's experience I thought that I might enjoy a drink here, and stopped by that night after dinner. I was wrong. The bartender was indifferent/not friendly (but not hostile). The crowd appeared to be locals with attitudes. Pool hustlers, punks and drunks. Three positives, you can walk here from many hotels (although I won't bother in the future), there is outdoor seating, there are a lot of interesting old photos of Morro Bay on the walls.

Food; didn't have any, beer was stock, 3 stars down the middle. Service; was busy so first few beers were ordered in pair to assist in lessening bar tenders load. I had 2 sets of 2 ipa's. When I went back to the bar to get one more somehow something was misinterpreted and the cops got called on me. Atmosphere; 3 stars down the middle. It was packed Saturday just after 2000hr. Not sure who actually called the police that evening. 🤔

Came here because The Siren was so packed…. We left a fun, live-music venue full of happy people and friendly bar tenders, and ended up here. The staff were cranky, the patrons are similar, and in the few minutes it took to order and receive drinks in this bar, my husband and I were directly insulted and challenged three times. One bar tender asked, “Have you ever been to a bar before?” Save your money, spend your time in a fun, friendly place where people go to have fun. This ain’t it. Leaving here ASAP.

Okay vibe. Service was rather cold. Seems like the bartenders are busy talking to locals - which is fine. Won’t be back. Thx Legends!

I went here after 8pm so no food available. The online ad for this venue was to close at 2am so we chose it for such time. However, they closed at 1 am even after we had paid for jukebox music. They didn’t care. If you go here don’t pay for anything extra beforehand. I don’t appreciate the deception and I hope nobody falls for the fake advertisement like I did

A Disgraceful Display of Prejudice – This Shouldn’t Happen in 2024 As a bystander, what I witnessed at this bar in Morro Bay was both upsetting and unacceptable. In 2024, this kind of behavior shouldn’t have any place in our communities. A couple, probably in their 40s, walked in with the simple intention of watching a football game. The man seemed excited to sit at the bar, ready to settle in and enjoy the game. The woman, on the other hand, made it clear she wasn’t staying—she was just there to drop him off. That’s when things took an ugly turn. The bartender immediately demanded her ID. She politely explained that she wasn’t staying and wasn’t ordering anything, but he refused to let it go. She even offered to retrieve her ID from the car, but instead of showing any understanding, the bartender turned rude and condescending. In a tone dripping with arrogance, he told her that “maybe where you’re from” things are different, but “here in California” IDs are required. The implication was crystal clear—her accent was enough for him to treat her like she didn’t belong. When she expressed how uncomfortable his behavior was making her, he doubled down, snapping that she could leave if she didn’t like their rules. The whole interaction was unnecessary and ugly to witness. The bartender’s tone and attitude made it clear he was singling her out because she didn’t sound like she was “local.” Watching this unfold was disheartening, and the couple—embarrassed and rightfully upset—left shortly afterward. In a world where inclusivity should be the norm, behavior like this from someone in a service role is shameful. It’s not just bad customer service; it’s outright prejudice. People should feel welcome, not singled out for their differences, especially in a small town that likely thrives on tourism and community. This establishment failed miserably. If you believe in treating people with basic respect and decency, find somewhere else to spend your time and money.

Bartender Emily was extremely drunk the entire shift, had non employees working behind bar in exchange for a “free shot” The same man who was her friend told me to serve myself since she had not been tending bar in the last 40 consecutive minutes. Afterwards I was assaulted serval times by her and one of her female friends before finally being let back in to obtain my property. This place has potential and I met some interesting/nice folks but cannot recommend the service. I know serving oneself is a no-no but she had a non employee behind bar and I assumed it was an anything goes type of place since she was clearly blackout drunk and not preforming her duties. Long story short after being assaulted by the bartender and her little friend I was finally allowed to go in and obtain my keys and jackets. I don’t know the point of this review as it’s the first I’ve ever written. I’m aware of my own mistake in the situation but assaulting someone/being black out drunk on the job isn’t acceptable. I paid for the 3 drinks and left after obtaining my property. Not blaming the owners or anyone else just a bad night I suppose.

Lame! We showed up before midnight and they wouldn’t serve us. We had a party of 12 and they turned us away even though someone was sitting at the bar drinking. Don't claim to be open til 2am if you're going close at midnight.

M

Although the Sunday night bartender poured great drinks, the service sucked! As we walked up, he was sort of rude because he was ready to close. My cousin asked to have a Shirley Temple for his daughter across the way and he refused, we decided to order drinks anyway. We went to order another drink and he refused us drinks because of a plastic cup. My cousin has sensory issues and needs a plastic cup. He poured his 1st drink into his own cup. So then when my mom went to order another drink he said no, because my cousin poured his drink into his own empty plastic cup. Disappointed! And after reading other reviews, we are assuming it was Ed. 👎🏻

We went here for a couple of drinks after getting into town. The bartender was a guy not sure of the name? We had maybe 4 beers max and he charged us for 11!!! We told him no we did not drink 11 beers and he said no you did. We paid our tab and left. I was looking at my statement on my CC and there is an additional charge the next day and we never even went there. DO NOT GO!!!

H

Unwelcoming to the point of being hostile. I guess if you don't have the right look or identity or are not one of the regulars good luck. The little guy behind the bar has an attitude way above his perceived station.

Local bar tender is toxic and nasty. He will overcharge and put the money in his pocket we watched him. Local buddies make fun of you at the bar. Told us we were annoying for visiting. The place by the water is way better for visiting. Friendly and great people. Stay away from here!!!

I was walking by this place looking for a pizza place to dine at. I saw an older man outside pacing out front of the Legends, and he looked cold and rude. There was a nasty sign outside expressing they didn't like certain types of political veiws. So, I didn't give them my business.

Went in to check the place out for cleanliness. Used the bathroom and went to grab my wife so we could come back for drinks and food. When I was leaving apparently the bartender was offended that I used the restroom and rudly and sarcasticly shouted "no problem just use our restroom and leave". I'll never give this place a nickel.

Unbelievably Rude and Offensive – Stay Away I came to this bar in Morro Bay hoping to relax, watch a football game, and enjoy a couple of drinks. Instead, I was subjected to one of the worst displays of customer service I’ve ever witnessed. The trouble began almost immediately after we walked in. My partner wasn’t even planning to stay—she was just dropping me off. As I settled at the bar, excited to catch the game, the bartender decided to make a scene. He demanded my partner’s ID, even though she wasn’t ordering anything or staying. She explained this and offered to grab her ID from the car if it was really necessary. That’s when things took a nasty turn. The bartender, with an obnoxious and condescending tone, started lecturing her about California laws, insinuating that “maybe where you’re from” things are different. Let me tell you, my partner is a California resident and a property owner. She has an accent, yes—but that doesn’t give anyone the right to speak to her like she doesn’t belong here. When she rightly pushed back against his tone, the bartender doubled down, essentially telling her to leave if she didn’t like it. The arrogance, the prejudice, the absolute lack of respect—it was infuriating. I ended up leaving with her because no football game is worth sitting in a place where the staff feels entitled to demean and humiliate their customers. This was outright xenophobic and completely unacceptable. If you value basic respect, steer clear of this place. The bartender’s attitude ruins the experience entirely. I will never set foot in this bar again and strongly urge others to take their business elsewhere.

Absolutely Disgraceful Service – Avoid at All Costs This establishment left me seething. My partner and I visited this bar in Morro Bay to catch a football game. He was excited, ready to sit at the bar, enjoy the game, and order drinks. I wasn’t even planning to stay, but what unfolded was nothing short of outrageous. The bartender, who seemed to think he was the gatekeeper of some exclusive club, immediately demanded my ID—even after I explained I wasn’t staying and had no intention of ordering. I realized my ID was in the car and offered to retrieve it, even though it felt absurd since I was about to leave. That’s when the condescension started. He smugly lectured me about California laws, insinuating that I wouldn’t understand because of “where I’m from.” Let me make this clear: I am from California. I’m a resident, I own property here, and I’ve never been spoken to so dismissively. The blatant prejudice underlying his tone—presumably because of my accent—was offensive and unprofessional. When I pointed out how unreasonable his behavior was, he told me I could leave if I didn’t like their rules. Well, here’s my response: this establishment can go to hell. Not only is this bartender’s behavior discriminatory and xenophobic, but it reeks of arrogance and a total disregard for customer service. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy yourself without being humiliated or talked down to, avoid this bar like the plague. Their staff is rude, condescending, and unapologetically discriminatory. Save your time, money, and dignity by going literally anywhere else.

This place has good food but I was drinking a non alcoholic beer outside that wasn’t in the designated 21+ area and the bartender came up to me, took my non alcoholic beer, then walked away without saying a word. I then said to him “that’s a non-alcoholic” and he proceeded to raise his voice at me and screamed “YOU CANT DRINK THAT THERE, THANKS FOR TELLING ME HOW TO DO MY JOB.” And then stormed off. One of the most rude interactions I’ve ever had, servers don’t know how to treat people.
