We have stayed here over Christmas for the last 5 years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are a little small but are warm, clean and comfortable. Lovely Christmas gift left outside the door Christmas morning. Very dog friendly.

We stayed 2 nights, we had a lovely meal on the first night it was lovely and the breakfast was delicious and the staff were brilliant. The hotel itself is brilliant. I heard other residents say what a lovely hotel. 10/10. I'm definitely coming back. Thank you for a wonderful stay. X. Christine

We held a birthday party in the Chatsworth Suite on 8th February. Thanks to the help of Jade, Janine and Angela , the planning and execution of the plans went without a hitch. They were proactive offering tips for the event, as we had no experience of party planning. On Saturday anything we requested was dealt with quickly and in a friendly manner. Everyone enjoyed the event and we would recommend the venue. We understand the hotel is undergoing some renovations and we look forward to seeing the makeovers in the main bar and restaurant in particular.

25/3/25 Stayed here since 25/2/25 on Bed & Breakfast. Standard Double room has sufficient space with a desk and 2 chairs. Bed is very comfortable but room let down by the poor power of shower (maybe just this room). Breakfast choice is Continental or choices on Hot Menu, both if you want. Food is excellent and Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful, as are all hotel staff.

Comfortable with a you need and a bar and restaurant on site. Food was pleasant and the service was decent. They have a bar menu as well as the full restaurant service so you can decide which suits you best. Ideal for local amenities like Rother Valley.

The hotel is in a beautiful peaceful location The staff are so polite especially the breakfast servers are so kind and joyful always a nice sight to see early in the mornings The food was always 10/10 and the wait time is not very long either. The beds are soft and incredible to sleep in. And the showers are warm and relaxing.

Rooms have very mouldy silicone on the bathrooms Breakfast is not the greatest Sausages tasted real funky Bacon - might aswell of served ham It's self serve breakfast then randomly one day they say they are serving you it on a plate and you got 1 of each item and by 9 o'clock you're on the hunt for more food , the portion size wouldn't fill a child let alone an adult. Evening mean choices are very limited and if you are given an allowance for your meal from your company you then need to pay an extra£6 supplement on certain foods items which leaves you pretty much nothing left to spend on your food or drink

A beautiful hotel with glorious grounds, perfect for a scenic break away from the hassle and bustle of the city. Wonderful service, gorgeous breakfast and a nice bar lounge to relax in after a busy day sight seeing.

It is good and beautiful, and I have been staying there for more than a month now, and I have been there, and I am very happy with the service provided there. The staff are wonderful and the cleanliness is excellent, and they do everything we ask of them with all friendliness and respect. It is truly a wonderful hotel.

We had our wedding here on the 20.10.24 and it was perfect. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much. Special thanks to Kayleigh for helping us plan the day and answering our queries, and to Janine for organising ourselves and our guests on the day. They both put us at ease and made sure everything ran smoothly! Thank you x

Great rooms with evening meal and breakfast. Amazing staff at this hotel, go above and beyond with all the extra miles thrown in, they couldn't do enough for us and it made our weekend so special! Special shout to Natalie & Alex , and all the team on the 4th-6th April- thank you

We stayed here for a friends wedding. Fantastic service, all staff very helpful and polite. A special shout out to Zachary the chef! He was super friendly and warm, and looked after by making the best gluten free pizza we’ve had in years. 10/10 pizza

We had our wedding here in September and we had the best day we could ever ask for. The surroundings are beautiful, food is great and decorations were set out perfectly. The bridal suite was so nice and a lot of my family stayed overnight too which was really convinient as many of them had travelled. Alison was amazing leading up to the day, especially as we planned the wedding in only 3 months! Kayleigh was great too, always answering our questions when Alison wasn't there. We were really looked after on the day itself and had so much fun. Would definetely recommend Mosborough hall as a wedding venue.

I recently used Darcy’s Bar at the hotel for my 60th birthday celebrations. The events team were very helpful when I was making enquires about the venue and answered enquiries promptly. On the day the bar staff Angela, Elizabeth and Zoe were excellent, they were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. A huge thank you to them from me and my husband

We went for Valentine's night (Friday) with our Assitance dog. We were given a table in the restaurant on Friday. No problems. The food was not good - my kebab was overcooked and my partners steak was flash fried. The dessert was fine. Saturday morning we were given a table in the bar and we ended up having a disagreement with the staff as he is a registered Assistance dog. They relented and let us sit in the restaurant Staff need training on how to handle Assistance Dogs..

Simply could not fault the service, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Incredibly old worldly feel from the buildings to the grounds of the hotel. My room was comfortable and the bed was too, which is important to me. Overall an excellent experience and better than some higher rated hotels I have stayed.

Elizabeth, Zoe and Evie were excellent during our Valentine's meal. Service was a excellent.

I had my wedding at Mosborough on 28.06.2025 and it was the most amazing day!!! I can’t thank and praise the staff enough, from the wedding coordinators who guided me through the process to all the staff there on the day! Everyone was so kind and helpful, they couldn’t have done anymore and all my guests said the same!! We had no complaints, and the coordinator on the day kept touching base to make sure everything was running smoothly! If anyone is considering staying at the hotel the rooms are lovely, if the weather is hot just simply ask the desk for a fan as these were used!!! I would recommend this venue to any and everyone!!

Thank you so much to Natalie, Mason, Matt, Luke and team for making my colleagues and dogs and I so welcome on our extended stay, due to working in the locality. We were made to feel home from home. Quiet location. No one coming and going all night, slept great. Great price point. First class food in restaurant, up there with five star places we have stayed. Cannot fault at all. Best Regards. Bit pricey but I do like the place. Conservatory always has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Probably overdue a referb though tbh.

I visited here for afternoon tea and received a very friendly welcome. The food was a nice selection of sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, mini sausage rolls and plenty of little cakes. We were well looked after and constantly received top ups of tea. As my first experience of an afternoon tea, I thought it was good value for money. However, considering this was an afternoon tea, it would have been nice to have had a tablecloth, bone china teacups and a menu with the choice of teas available. These small details would have improved the whole experience and I was slightly disappointed about the presentation. The hotel and dining room is wheelchair accessible and there's a disabled toilet. Parking is at the rear of the hotel and down quite a steep slope but there's a drop off point outside reception. As the hotel is 12th century it has lots of character and history, but it does look in need of some TLC! Nonetheless, I would happily recommend it and revisit again in the future.

Very friendly staff, a lovely old building, downside I would say overpriced fare in the restaurant for the size of portions served.

It was great for the 2 for 1 deal.... can't beat it. If you were paying full price I wouldn't be happy with one or two issues....because the price was SO good I feel I can't complain. Very very clean....that needs noting. Beautiful old hall. So much history. Unfortunately this is not made the most of. Rita our waitress for both days was great.

Great location. A few local shops would have been nice. That is nothing to do with the Hotel. That's just me. The staff are excellent. Sam is particularly helpful. Parts of the hotel could do with a bit more TLC. Some of the chairs in the bar were very worn. If they had been mine i would have recovered them possibly with a contrasting fabric on the worn parts. They were still very comfortable. Will look out for another offer for this hotel. The wedding facilities are superb. They are separated from the main hotel. We had a look around on the day we left. They have the largest mirror ball I have ever seen. Bar prices were resonable

Had afternoon tea on a Thursday. The service was good. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty. But the scones were vert heavy and to difficult to eat, as if they had been frozen. The cakes were nice but one was so wet, it fell to bits when putting it on plate from stand, again probably been frozen.

Very friendly, comfortable, hotel in a nice setting. Very comfortable beds. Nice standard continental and English fayre for breakfast. Breakfast is very, very busy when there are weddings and functions staying over. Staff are very stretched at the peak time and provisions, mugs, glasses etc can run out, but they replenish as soon as possible. They work so hard and are always pleasant.

Booked a Executive Room for an overnight between business meetings. Having stayed before and was very disappointed in the room, and bed. The room was dated (1970's 80's) in style and in need of new furniture and decorating. Should have asked to change rooms but on returning to reception heard the hotel was fully booked, so just mentioned that the seat on the desk chair had lost its padding. The good thing about this hotel is the staff who try to do all they can for you and the food.

Main part of the building is lovely but the rooms are tired and average at best. Paid extra for a room upgrade and was very disappointed as the rooms didn’t look like advertised on the website. Double bed was just 2 single beds pushed together so I ended up falling down the gap. Breakfast was great and the staff were lovely

We attend our friends wedding hear and stayed the night. Where their ceremony and wedding reception was is nice and separate from the main building which is nice. Nice outside area and pizza oven for food in the evening. I’m not sure what the wedding coordinator was doing because at times there was confusion where to be and what to do but other than that the service was fine. The biggest letdown are the rooms! This certainly can’t be best western standards! The rooms need a lot of attention, not clean, and wallpaper was literally pealing off the walls. We didn’t get much sleep as the walls are thin and we could hear everything from the room next door and they seemed to have a lot of fun all night 😩😅

We had a nice day here last Friday for my brother's wedding. The location was beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous. Inside the venue was very tired and needs some renovation, especially in the wedding part (which is where we spent most of our time) The sofa in the bar was badly torn, which gave a bad first impression as this is where the guests gathered before going into the wedding. We went through to the room where the service was held and were not advised where to sit. We were just left to figure it out and find a member of staff to ask. The room where the service was held was extremely dusty. I get it, it's an old building, but there were huge cobwebs around the beams which could have been solved with an extendable feather duster. I feel that when you're spending thousands on a wedding venue, details like this are so important. After the service, we had the afternoon meal. The food was nice, but nothing too special. The bread with the starter was lovely and so was the pate and chutney. The potatoes with the main were burnt and the stuffing was frozen, but the chicken was ok. I suspect the profiteroles were frozen, but the caramel sauce and fresh strawberries were delicious. There was a member of staff in particular who was very accommodating and fetched me a tupperware pot so I could bring some chicken home for my cat 😊 The room where the meal was located was also very tired and needed a good clean. The skirting board had wedding cake smeared on it and the carpet was taped down (where I'm assuming it was torn) Despite all of this, the day was wonderful because we were all together with the people we love... I just wish that the venue had been a little cleaner and that the other staff had been a little more attentive. Weddings are (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience and such an important day. I feel like so many little details were missed that could have made my brother and sister-in-law's wedding day even better.

During my four night stay at this hotel I found that hot water in the shower is a rare commodity, which as the staff told me, is due to one boiler for the entire hotel, combined with the number of people showering when you do. That makes the availability of a hot shower a roll of the dice, really. Furthermore, the showerhead is fixed to the wall, which makes washing in specific area's rather challenging. In my opinion this is a serious downside to this otherwise acceptable hotel. The room is tidied on Sundays only, unless requested otherwise, out of environmental considerations. The room itself is spacious and in good order. The staff is friendly. One morning, the fire alarm went off, but it turned out to be a false alarm. An incident, no doubt, but still, it adds to the overall experience. All in all I would say that my stay has been acceptable, but hardly more than that.

My room was very dusty, I can't see the point of putting clean towels on a very dusty towel rail. The room looked a bit tried. On a plus side the breakfast was excellent, hot and fresh cooked. I have got to mention one of the staff, this lady was working in the bar Friday and was there to greet you at breakfast Saturday didn't get the lady's name but what a credit to your hotel, always a warm welcome and could not do enough for the customer s

Had a wedding venue showround appointment, arrived 10 minutes early to see the exterior and have a second to look on our own and we cancelled our appointment before meeting them because of what we saw. The sign at the entrance is years-old filthy, fixtures (like soap dispensers) were ripped off the walls in the toilets, dirty carpet and chips in exterior clad walls like cars had crashed into them. There was also rubbish /paper piled up in the windows upstairs on the main front of the building. It didn’t scream magical wedding venue but rather dirty and rundown. A real shame and reviews of the rooms seem to echo this sentiment.

S
Sharon

Wouldn't recommend, had to change rooms 1st one smelly drains, 2nd room needs some updating and noisy, appeared to be between maintenance cupboards that kept us awake with mechanical noises. Cold breakfast , couldn't wait to leave.

Had a room that smelt strongly of cigarettes. Told reception at first, they did not care. Then we requested to move rooms, they had nothing acceptable for what we paid. I don't even think they said sorry. We had to sleep in a cigarette smelly room and air it out outselves. The room was dusty. Not deep cleaned. Dust on mirror, tv remote, behind the bedside tables had cobwebs and dust. Not been touched in weeks. Location was good for the wedding we attended. Apart from that nothing great. Breakfast was sub par.... you certainly don't get your moneys worth here. Service was not good.

Best Western booking website is deceitful. I entered our dates and stated 2 rooms, 2 persons per room. It came up with £161. However, when you tap on that price it asks you to select type of room, it then says 'Add room' ?? I thought this was strange but tapped on it. It then doubled the quoted price. So beware it's meaningless to put in the number of guests and number of rooms at the start because the quote refers to one room only. In short Best Western's booking website is deceitful.

Room decor old and tired with inground dirt and in a poor state. Bath surrounded by black mould in the tiles and rotten wooden skirting. Heated towel rail not working, nor was the bathroom air extractor, hence the room stayed damp and wet throughout my stay. Rust stains in sink. Bed overly soft, which made me think it was very old. Sheets very thin, and again, felt old. Towels smelled like they had not been laundered for a long time, and perhaps put away while slightly damp. No hot water in shower...more like luke warm to cool. Terrible on a cold morning. Food wasn't bad, although extremely slow in the evening, waiting for almost an hour for 4 meals to be delivered. Flasks of hot water for tea making never fully boiled, hence tea was never nice. Shame, as if the owners invested a bit of money, and the managers invested a bit of pride, this could be a much better venue. Location handy enough for M1.

Took some friends for Sunday lunch last weekend and had the worst lunch ever. The food looked as though it had been thrown on the plate by a child. Terrible presentation and terrible food. We were embarrassed to have ‘treated’ our good friends to this. Luckily the experienced waitress tried to rescue some elements but she was fighting a losing battle. The white wine hadn’t been chilled so she hastily produced a wine cooler with ice. We dine out often at many different places - never again here :(

We had booked afternoon tea, were told we hadn’t booked. Waited 40 minutes for tea yet others walked in and given tea straight away so l asked why had we waited again told we hadn’t booked afternoon tea l said we had booked then we got a pot of tea but waited and had to ask for the milk, when we got the afternoon tea others had strawberries on the plate and we got the same afternoon tea for 2 people and 1 person Wasn’t very nice at all scones were dry tasteless sandwiches tasted awful the egg mayonnaise was very sloppy Never going back
