Pop the Bubbly is praised for its champagne selection, delicious food like the stuffed mushrooms and chicken pesto sandwich, and friendly owners. Some reviewers reported slow or rude service, and a cigarette smell was mentioned. The atmosphere is generally considered nice and spaced out.

Such a gem! I love their great selection of champagne and beers options. I opted for a international champagne flight and our server was so knowledgeable and kind.
If you are looking for a cool place with delicious cocktails and snacks, this is the place for you! They make delicious mocktails here, and I love the bubbles!
VIP Service! We sat Upstairs, a 4-Seat “Lounge” with 2 couches facing each other with a round table in between, see attached photos.
Big pours and great bubbly! The atmosphere is nice and spaced out
The food was good and so was the wine.

Champagne from France and U.S. A relatively new place a MUST try, indoor and outdoor seating and family run. All the drinks they make other than a straight pour are made from Champagne. We sat at the bar and chatted it up with 1 of the owners. Great concept and did I mention Champagne!
Really cool spot for the sparkling wine lover. Certainly the most diverse by-the-glass menu in town and for many miles around. Several flights are offered from local to international as well as high end. Several sparkling cocktails are offered as well. The interior space was kept cool even on a sweltering day and there is ample shaded outdoor seating as well. The staff was super nice and inviting. My wife and I had a great time and will return the next time we are in town. Many thanks.
5 stars does not provide a high enough rating for Betsy, Don and the entire team at Pop The Bubbly. From the moment we met Betsy we knew that she was the perfect person to help us imagine, create and execute our destination wedding in Charleston. We interviewed several wedding planning companies and Betsy’s stood out above all others. Her infectious laugh brings a sense of calm to stressful situations and she brings the perfect balance between focus, attention to detail and keeping things fun. Betsy provided an environment that allowed us to be present in the moment and enjoy each step of the wedding event journey. She listened to us with a open ear and never made us feel uncomfortable with our ideas. Betsy and our vendor team incorporated every single detail that we wanted and even added small personal touches throughout the entire weekend that brought so many amazing surprises around every corner. Most importantly we felt like Betsy was part of our family. When we arrived in town for the wedding weekend, Betsy was there to greet our entire family and immediately became one of the group- she brought such a sense of calm and positive energy to situations that sometimes can be frustrating. We can truly say that our wedding weekend flowed perfectly from one event to another. Betsy did not miss any detail that ensured seamless transitions and every possible problem thought of in advance. We were able focus on each other, our love and create magical memories with our friends and family. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for Betsy and Pop The Bubbly as her creativity, hard work and years of experience produced an event that was representative of our relationship and the love that we share. We recommend Pop the Bubbly to anyone who wants to work with a team who will listen to your ideas and put them into real application. Most importantly I recommend Pop the Bubbly to anyone who wants to be able to enjoy their event and the entire event planning process.
My husband and I were immediately greeted by the owners and enjoyed our champagne flights and conversation. We could not believe how much they kept cleaning and cleaning every spot of the bar, chairs, handles, etc. We had a delicious panini for lunch and she constantly changed gloves for every different item she touched (throwing away the gloves and putting on new ones). I even commented on how expensive that must be! Can’t wait to return.
We had the best time here! We had visited 4 other tasting rooms and two restaurants, and this was our favorite experience in Murphy's. We had three of the sparkling flights. The flights were magnifico 🤌🏻. They were well curated and our server, the husband/owner, was very knowledgeable and genuine. He and the rest of the staff made us feel very comfortable. It seemed like they all liked their job and the product and their attitudes were contagious. They created a really fun and lively atmosphere, the exact opposite of pretentious which we really loved! The food was excellent. Originally we were going to just get the deviled eggs to snack on, but they were so good we kept ordering. The filing in the deviled eggs was light, airy, and balanced. And I really appreciated that they salted the egg whites (so important. Why do so many places skip this?). The spinach dip was AWESOME- the perfect ratio of spinach-artichoke-cream; it wasn't runny, or too rich, or stringy. Just awesome. We finished it up with the French Onion Panini that my partner ate most of before I could catch up 😆 but I remember the bread having the most satisfying crunch on the outside while maintaining that comforting softness on the inside. The staff were all really nice & they all touched our table at least once. It was really busy inside and they were handling it as a team. If there was a moment our server wasn't buzzing to our table to pour the next taste it was because he was at another table giving them the same great and comprehensive experience he was giving us. I wouldn't read too much into the negative reviews here. If you show up wanting to have a good time, you will. If you forgot to leave the stick you keep in your keister at home, or if you're so entitled you think it's ok to mar the experience of other patrons by interjecting and interrupting their server, maybe this just isn't the place for you. But it's definitely the place for us! This was our first time to Murphy's and we will be stopping in anytime and every time we come through town.
We had the best experience ever!! The moment we walked we were greater by Daisy. We decided to do bottomless mimosas! Daisy add do awesome. The owners were always checking with us. We highly recommend this spot when you are in Murphy’s!! Must go to !!!
A MUST stop in Murphys. Stuffed mushrooms are amazing and the owner's own recipe. I had the chicken pesto hot sandwich made with fresh home made Sourdough. SO delicious. Great selection of champagne and sparkling wines. You will not regret stopping here and staying a while.
Great, but it's gone. Sold and retired.

Great little place with a great selection of beer!! I don't do champagne enough to make any comments about that but my fiance and mother both loved the flights!!

I assume we were here when a husband and wife were working. The man? Wonderful. Attentive. Knowledgeable. He was fantastic. The wife? She talked back and said “she’s talking to people (gossiping)” instead of getting us some more food or helping him. He asked her if they had an item we ordered and she, condescendingly, stated “I make that from scratch so of course we have it.” And there was more around us. She was inconvenienced to serve us but he was wonderful. Champagne was great. Food was great. Just the atmosphere and environment weren’t.

Disappointing service. I had high hopes for this venue, it has an adorable name and aesthetic to match. Our server was friendly, unfortunately she was not knowledgable with regards to what she was serving. We ordered one of the champagne flights, and she was unable to provide us with any information about the champagnes we were sampling. This was unfortunate, as the point of our visit was to learn about and sample different champagnes. Additionally, the different champagnes were re-poured into the same glass, when remnants of the previous sample remained. 5/3/22 UPDATE TO REPLY TO OWNER RESPONSE: My original review was lenient in view of the entire experience I had at this establishment. Yes some wineries do use a single glass; in those cases they certainly allow you to clear said glass before adding a new wine. The employee was most certainly doing her best (it was never said otherwise in the review). Her demeanor was wonderful. Minimum quality expectations for a paid-for service are both valid and reasonable. Friendliness is important, as is quality of service (you need both). As I see you are responding as the owner, I will assert that your statement wishing I had requested to speak to the owner as disingenuous. Both owners (husband and wife) were present and interacting with my party. The wife was behind the counter (next to our server), and the husband was to our immediate right conversing with us for a good amount of our stay. You were both within view and watching our service (you had both became involved early on when we asked for more information regarding a particular bottle). As you were in observance of our service I felt no need to call to light what you were already viewing. I will just assume that that level of service was sufficient and acceptable for you. As a consumer, I did not feel the standards were adequate, as reason for my review. There were also comments made on your behalf, and an interaction between you and another patron that I was disappointed with. My original review was full of grace, but in light of your(owner) response I decided to provide additional information for context clarification.
Nice bubbly selection, but service was horrible. Sat at table, server came by and said she'd be right back. Came back at least 20 minutes later. We ordered three flights. Got our first pour. Sat for quite a while with empty glasses watching three employees behind counter chat, drink and wipe down counter multiple times with backs to customers. Had to ask for 2nd pour, waited again for 3rd pour . Only two other tables in the establishment at this time. After waiting again, had to request check. So disappointed!!!
3/13/21 Cute little shop, nice champagne 🍾 drink selections. Even some beer 🍺 choices. Folks seemed friendly; however the three ladies that worked there and the owner mostly talked amongst themselves. There was a food menu but didn't stay to order anything due to the terrible cigarette smell the women all smelled like. Although they were mostly at the counter the smell lingered around them very strongly & throughout the tiny little shop. When the server came over to take our order the smell from her was unbelievably strong. In addition the owner was standing out front of the tiny little shop smoking a cigar and every time he would pop open the door to conversate with the women the aroma would waft in blending with the already terrible cigarette smell overtaking the small shop. Between the cigarette & cigar smell it was extremely unappetizing for us so we decided to leave not even finishing our drinks..
We were a group of 30-somethings on a bachelorette weekend, ready to sip champagne and support a cute little local shop recommended to us by another local. Sadly, the welcome we got felt less like “cheers!” and more like “why are you here?” One of our friends who is pregnant and asked if they had non-alcoholic wine. The staff (Lyndsey) looked at her like she’d asked for unicorn milk and with a condescending tone replied, “That’s not a thing, sweetie” with a snarky wink. Yikes. Despite it is actually very much “a thing”. Despite spending a good chunk of change (seriously, we did not hold back), we were met with eye rolls, short responses, and a vibe that screamed, “I’d rather be anywhere else.” Honestly, I wish we had taken a picture of the cheese plate if only so we could submit it to a museum under the exhibit: “Expectation vs. Reality.” It was that sad. Absolutely nothing like what is advertised. In a touristy town like this, you’d think hospitality would be the main event but instead, it felt like we were arriving at someone’s angry mother in laws. We left feeling more awkward than tipsy, and that’s saying something. We really wanted to love this place, but between the attitude and the underwhelming offerings, we’ll be taking our bachelorette vibes (and dollars) elsewhere next time. I will say the place itself is adorable and the food was acceptable. I could even tolerate it more if we were more kindly welcomed.

Rude servers and horrible service. I live in Angels Camp and whenever I have company I take my guests to Murphy’s. If I could I would give them 0 stars. So many other great options in this town with friendlier staff and great outdoor patio’s to enjoy.
Ordered a champagne. Took 25 mins, which is fine but when we spoke the lady owner, she talked to us like children. Then she was gossiping about us asking for service. Prioritizes locals over everyone else. I'd avoid due to bad vibes. If there is something not right and you speak up, she'll treat you like an impatient little kid rather than a customer. They did not charge us for 1 of our 2 flights, but we only received 1 drink so yeah. Updating: Your response to this review proves my point. Glad it's viewable to everyone.
