Delicious tacos. I recommend the carne asada, chili Colorado and al pastor pork. My wife loved her tongue and tripe tacos. Fair warning: The super tacos are 2x as full as a normal taco. I thought 3 wouldn't be enough but I was stuffed.

Stopped at French Camp for fuel then on to the outskirts of Yosemite to drop of the Barlinders Hoop to Otis Cambell so he can get that old copper still running again. It was Otis that said whatever you do..don't say where my cabin is, and stop at the Taqueria Sonora for the best tacos in the state! Well, I stopped and got 2 of these, 2 of thems and 1 that wasn't either of them, and all I can say is WOW! 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆

The taste of their Mixed Fajita is absolutely wonderful and the portion is big as I couldn’t finish half of it. This is probably the best fajita I have ever had.

I'm from the Bay Area and this place is just as good as the Taquerias in the city. Good salsa bar too. I ordered the Taco al Pastor...it was great! BUT... Once in awhile the salsa bar can get a little bit messy but otherwise, a lot of good choices. 👍 The photos mostly show Taco al pastor but one of them is also lengua...beef tongue... It's the softest most tender and awesome piece of meat 👍

Taqueria Sonora Taqueria Sonora was a great find. It was the small mom-and-pop type hole-in-the-wall that I live and breathe for. I went with a super lengua burrito and a tripe taco. The tripe was perfectly fried and tucked into two tortillas and smothered with a delicious salsa. The burrito was awesome, the lengua was perfectly cooked and flavored. The burrito did fall apart towards the end, but I devoured everything!! My wife went with the flautas that looked more like taquitos to me. She felt that they were good for taquitos, but did not satisfy her craving for flautas since taquitos and flautas are two very different dishes. The taquitos came with rice and beans which were really good. They also came with a side salad that had very spicy dressing that my wife was not able to eat. All in all, she enjoyed her meal.

This is my top pick for mexican food in Sonora. I especially like their carnitas street tacos (I get 4-5) along with ever-changing array of salsas to choose from at the salsa bar. And to top it all off, I have my choice of several different agua frescas that are made daily. So, so good!

Highly recommend this place, food is delicious and authentic. Quaint little restaurant with limited seating but I think these kinds of places are the best! It was super busy the whole time I was there and it is obvious this place was a favorite among locals. I ordered a chili verde torta and it was seriously life changing! I have never had such a tasty torta in my life!! Everyone at my table said their meals were delicious and the food looked perfect! Gracias a la cocinero muy deliciosa!

This place is great! The food is really good. There is a fabulous SALSA BAR! Their refried beans are wonderful. It's really just a hole in the wall in downtown Sonora, but it's worth trying to find parking. The prices are reasonable, too. I highly recommend this great little Mexican restaurant.

This is the place to get your tacos in Sonora. Authentic, and everything you would expect. Parking is easy anywhere along the street of downtown. PLUS: they have a Salsa bar👍

We where in town for the weekend and felt like Mexican food so we tried this place out. This place has great food 🥘👍👍 the super burritos are very filling, chimichangas were all right, kearny Asada plate is also very large feeling. It took a little while to get the food because they where making it fresh.

The prices are pretty high, I'd like to see prices that are more affordable for a rural community. The service and food are good, and it's family owned and operated so local support is encouraged but it would be great if it was more sustainable for repeat visits.

They serve really good Mexician food here. I think maybe the best in Sonora. But they have a real big issue with service. They often don't answer their phone. And when you come in, you are never greeted, just "what do you want" type questions. Never a smile, just business. Which is great for a business, but not so great for a customer.
