Yoshoku is a popular spot known for its delicious ramen and poke bowls. Customers rave about the fresh ingredients, flavorful broths, and attentive service. Some find the seating cramped and the mushrooms too sweet, but overall, it's a highly recommended experience.

It's a great ramen place, they're like bowls are also pretty baller if you want a almost salad. It's really small so if it's a busy weekday or weekend there can be up to an hour waits but it's easy to go to their tea place a couple of businesses down and wait to be called and they'll come over and get you. Great service overall
Great ramen and poke bowls. Just wish the restaurant itself was larger. We cant eat at the barstools since we have small children and often end up waiting for a table. The wait is worth it though!! Great assortment of ramen broths. Yummy veggies! Fast service.
Great food!!!! An oddity in our community but a refreshing & delicious change from all the run-of-the-mill Mexican, Chinese & fast food restaurants that Tuolumne county has been inundated with. I hope they do well & stay! Great food on cold days for sure, great for take-out too.
Wow this was Really good. Spicy Miso is no joke 🙂❤️
Tried Yoshuko's new location yesterday. My wife had the chicken teriyaki bowl. She loved it - said it was the best teriyaki she's ever had! I had to agree - the sauce was just the right balance of sweet and savory, not too sweet. I had the spicy tonkotsu - the broth was exceptional, more flavor able than that I've had at the best Gardena/Torrance ramen restaurants - and the two half ramen eggs were perfectly cooked!
This is my favorite spot in downtown Sonora. The ramen is delicious and there’s so much variety. Unmatched customer service, and always the most polite interactions. 10/10 have to try it.
If there was 6 stars that's what I would give this place. I said something to a server on the way out which I truly believe. Some meals are so good that they become an experience. Not just a meal but a memory. And this is not one of those places you will visit once!
You probably wouldn't expect it, but they have decent ramen here
Got take out, it was yummy! New location is just down the road from the old one, and has a simple parking lot right next to it. Small parking lot, but convenient on a week day when it wasn't busy. I love that Formosa is now connected and still has all the beat boba drinks!
I go here pretty often. Cheap, quick, and tasty. The wait staff is very polite as well. I can't say enough about this place to be honest. I'm sure I've had every kind of ramen and poke bowl they have to offer. Never once has it been bad
Great place! Been here a couple times while passing through Sonora. They make good ramen and I also had a good rice bowl. These folks pay attention to detail for each dish and have a good and unique flavor. I'd recommend without hesitation.
Food was excellent. Some of the best in town. Pricy but large portions. Service was good. Staff knowledgable about food restrictions, which I appreciate. Atmosphere terrible. I hope they upgrade their front of house at some point. It felt like a cafeteria seating area. Ill be back for more, though. Perhaps for take out.
Even though they were busy and short staffed for the holiday weekend, they were very attentive. Always checking on us. Food came out hot and flavorful. No skimping to rush service. Great first experience. Will visit again.
The chicken teriyaki bowl was fantastic. All the ingredients were fresh, the chicken was not overpowering, and the rice perfectly cooked. The service was fast and courteous. I would definitely return to this place. I chose Yoshoku because the menu seemed to have plenty of healthy options, and this dish definitely met my expectations.
Extremely good ramen noodles! Best in town a little expensive for ramen noodles though.
Really good food and delightful staff. They have a wide variety of broth types for their Ramen, two needle types, and a variety of add ins.
As a chef, I am extremely picky. I ordered the Black garlic bowl, with an edamame app- this meal was absolutely delicious from the first bite to the last, including the leftovers I reheated. This is the best noodle soup and the best soup in town- you do not need to go anywhere else.
My two other guests and I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen! It was so warm and packed full of flavor! Surprisingly the chicken had a ton of flavor! A lot of ramen I've tasted, the chicken becomes flavorless from being in the soup to long. That was not the case with this ramen! You can tell this ramen was fresh! The service was also extremely warm (like the soup). We will be visiting again soon and bringing more people! ❤️
This is my favorite place in town, I love the food and the people. They give you a plethora of ingredients to choose from and load the bowls up with plenty of them. I mainly eat the ramen but their other dishes are tasty too. John and Shauna Chin are very friendly and kind people and I wish them many years of fruitful business.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in town!!! The staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly. I have tried every single ramen bowl flavor and can't choose a favorite! :)
Stopped by for lunch for the first time and was VERY surprised as to how good the food is. Since we are not "techy" it was s little difficult knowing what we were getting and how much it would cost even though our waitress tried to explain. The online menu is very nice to check out ahead of time.
I live out of town, but every time I visit Sonora I come here. It is amazing. My favorite ramen I have ever had. I am a vegetarian so it is typically hard to find good ramen.
First time there recently. I absolutely loved it. I got beef and it was steak, and it was juicy and flavorful. The soup was huge!! I had leftovers and we got potstickers for an appetizer which were amazing as well!!
First time coming here and my food was amazing!! I got my food in about 8 minutes so very fast service. The staff was nice too and helpful. Definitely recommend coming for the ramen. I tried my drink while I was eating and it had a slightly weird taste but I drank more of it when I left and it had a weird rubbing alcohol taste. So I didn't get to finish it sadly. The drink was called aloha. The environment was nice and clean with friendly staff.
Somebof the best food I have had in a long time. The poke bowls are absolutely incredible and the garlic base for the Ramen is perfection. This Restaurant should be packed every night.
Incredibly good ramen! Super tasty with all the toppings. Service is great and this place isn’t super busy. One street over from the historic downtown so it’s a walking distance to all the good places to grab a drink. Closes a little early but I loved grabbing a bowl of spicy tonkotsu ramen for lunch. Their boba is really good too. 10/10 spot.
Consistently great food and friendly staff. We get something 1x - 2x a week, as our home is being rebuilt due to interior flood. Be aware that the spice levels start at G1, and they aren't kidding :) We get the Tokyo Miso and the Curry Ramen. Their bubble teas are loved by our daughters!
My favorite place to grab some noodles. Easy menu to navigate. Owners are awesome and are often on-site mingling with customers. Place is super clean and staff are great. Been here probably 15 times and always a great experience. Even today when it's 110* I just toss some ice cubes in my noodles and eat it warm. Delicious....
Simplistic and light design elements with perfect food with similar simplicity gives a very positive visit to outweigh other places if you're not one for complex choice making. Even after a few years of going here, the food remains amazing. The new servers have been kind at the new location, and helpful with my questions.
Pretty good poke bowls. The owner, Shawna, is always there to ensure quality. And Gabby the server is super friendly. I have Yoshoku at least once a week.
Stopped here for lunch today, we each had a different ramen bowl. We both opted for all of the toppings. Delicious. We definitely will come back, good food, fast service, super nice people. I want to try the poke bowls next time. We have friends coming in next week, and I am excited to have another great place to take them.
Great place to come and grab a bite to eat. Every ramen type I had hear was tasty and fresh. The broth had a great pallete to it and tasted real.
My girlfriend and I just ate here and had one of the best experiences we have had at a restaurant in a long time! The waitstaff was so kind and accommodating! The whole experience from the beginning was just outstanding, if we could give 10 stars we would! Thank you so much for such an amazing experience!
Wow the ramen was good. I think it’s the best I’ve had.
The Tonkotsu ramen had a rich broth and the noodles were good. You are given a sheet to check mark how you want your order. My broth had a sweetness to it, may have been from the corn. I personally don't like my ramen to be sweet so next time I will try no corn. Otherwise friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Very good Ramen. Very nice people. They were busy and still very good. We had a big party. Thank you
My family and I have come here for a good meal and consistently we receive this. Healthy and clean options, served quickly and with friendly service. The new location has a free and private parking lot to safely park your vehicle. Also the new location is just around the corner from where they were but much easier to get to, just off the main strip by a 1/2 block. Come on and try something new. If you are unsure, ask and the staff are pleasant while explaining all the options you have available.
For an area lacking in good food options, this ramen spot is a hidden gem. Not sure if it’s the most traditional ramen, but it’s probably one of the best we’ve had. Love the wide range of spice levels too, they can get intense. Look forward to returning here.
Great ramen, friendly staff, and they have boba tea too!
Wow! This place is so cute. Very original. Most importantly the food is delicious! I like that you get to create your own ramen by choosing the ingredients you want. We chose the Spicy Miso soup base, I chose beef as my protein and my husband had the chicken. Lots of toppings to choose from which are included in the price; egg, corn, scallion, pickled ginger, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushroom, and fish cake. Definitely get the shiitake mushroom! They must marinade them is some sort of teriyaki or something, so good!
This place is delish! The service was phenomenal. The quality of food superb. I got a “2 scoop” tofu poke bowl with a whole heap of fixings for $16. Best find. Looking forward to their bubble tea next time around :-) I have a semi-broken camera so this picture doesn’t do the meal justice.
One of the best restaurant options in the area! Poke bowls are some of the best I've had in CA. The fish is fresh and they offer lots of toppings. Service is always friendly. Love that they offer online ordering and a quick takeout counter for boba.
100% delicious and fresh. I got takeout and it was ready quickly, and everything was super efficient. Poke bowl was design your own- many choices for seafood, sauces, veggies, rice, and even the sprinkles on top. The Ramen looked delicious too.
Food was super fresh and delicious. We got a poke bowl and ramen bowl and enjoyed both! Service was fast and friendly. Slightly pricey for Sonora but a great experience all around.
Poke was solid, my buddies got the ramen also said to give it a 5 star. Would recommend.
Delicious Ramen was not something I was expected to find in the foothills! I recently moved up from the Central Valley and have been exploring the different restaurants in the area. I ordered the gyoza appetizer and my party had 3 different bowls of ramen. The black garlic oil was delicious. The pork belly was thick cut, so that may be divisive. The tonkotsu was delicious and creamier than I was expecting. Very velvety. The spicy sesame was a pleasant surprising balance of heat and savory. If you’re in the area and want a bowl of soup to warm you from the snow, try this place out.
Very good Ramen noodle soup choices. Almost as good as the Bay Area. Seating is not comfortable, and not private in the sense that you will most likely be sitting elbow to elbow with other people at the counter. The waitress at the counter was really not that friendly. NEW LOCATION! NOW THERE'S LOTS OF SEATING AND IT'S A NICE PLACE AND SO EASY TO PARK. I'm adding some pictures and I'm giving them five stars! 💪💪
Pretty quick service and our gal was so willing to go over the menu worksheet with us. Attentive service as well. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious! The huge choice of Boba teas is impressive too.
I don't know if this is authentic or not but I really enjoyed the spicy miso ramen (I had chicken in mine) there was just enough heat (for me) to make my nose run, the flavour of the whole dish was spicy and sweet and the noodles were soft and creamy; server was great too. The ordering process was a bit different, as we had never been there before but next time we shall know what to do - they give you a qr code to scan, which takes you to their website which has all the prices on and then you have a tick sheet, which you hand to the server.
Brought my husband here so here could try their ramen and see how amazing it is. We got the Tokoyo Miso Ramen, Tonkotsu Ramen, Gyozas, and he got an iced Thai Tea. It was all absolutely delicious and he loved it. We will be back for more!!
Simple little joint....epic bowl of Ramen. Nice and attentive service. Wish I lived closer by to come more often.
The food was great the lady who was attending us. She was really nice and sweet.
So many people have told me I had to try the "noodle" house so I thought, "alright, I'll try it.". I am so glad I listen to people. Not only were they good, they were incredible. So incredible that I took my husband the next week. There are many ramen bowls and rice bowls to try. This is A MUST!!!! you won't be sorry!!
I was really craving a poke bowl, and this place did not disappoint. Portions were large and was quite pleased with the price considering poke is usually quite expensive. I will definitely be back to try more off their menu!
The curry ramen was absolutely wonderful. Teriyaki chicken bowl was good but could have used a little more teriyaki sauce. My friend had the tonkatsu (spicey) and said it was great. We plan on eating a lot over the next few months.
The Ramen is so delicious! I got the Tonkatsu, my husband got the spicy version and we both loved it! The ingredients seem so fresh! I have gone many times since I moved into the area. I have gotten the Kongo Ramen which is also delicious. Their bowls are very tasty and I've even had their poke once which was pretty good. Their boba is also delicious.
Yoshoku offers several poke bowls and ramen. I've had only the vegetarian ramen and both the black garlic and spicy were very good. The noodles are excellent and perfectly cooked. The vegetarian broth is rich with great depth of flavor. The thick and chewy mushrooms are wonderful. This has become a must-stop whenever I'm in Sonora or passing through.

Amazing place with nice staff and great food. Best ramen in California!
Excellent ramen place to eat. The quality of the noodles and broth are top notch. The only nitpick I have is that the pork belly they use is really thinly sliced and has a consistency similar to ham. Good pork belly is tender, smoky and usually cut a little thicker. The mushrooms are also marinated in something sweet and coupled with corn can make your bowl a bit sweet by the end. This is only a personal gripe though you may enjoy it that way. Other than these very small things it's wonderful.
They have very good ramen and poke bowls here. A nice selection of additions are listed. The only drawback, is the price. Although it's enough of food for two meals, the price in my opinion, is a bit high.
Ordered spicy tonkotsu ramen. Amazing broth. Rich and creamy. Shiitake mushrooms were very flavorful- maybe marinated? Chasu was cooked perfectly with great flavor. Very disappointed that the soft boiled eggs were not marinated. One of my favorite parts of ramen is the “ramen” egg. This would have been a 5++ review, without the marinated eggs, a solid 4. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!
Food just OK, nothing special, dirty floors, cobwebs in the windows and had to keep flies from sharing my food. Ice only on request in the water, no lemons or low-sodium soy sauce. Cleaning products sitting on one of the tables. Not a very inviting atmosphere.
Really good ramen! Great appetizers! Staff super friendly and attentive! Great spot I recommend!!
Absolutely delicious. Took a shot in the dark and ordered a spicy ramen bowl with pork and mushrooms and was very impressed. Arrived right at opening and barely got a seat before a line formed. The hours of operation are abysmal! The wait is worth it, though. Very affordable.

Being fans of ramen we really wanted to like it, and I'm sure most people will think it is good enough, but I didn't think it lives up to the quality we expected. We did not try the poke. They have a sister restaurant two doors down that serves boba tea which was great. The restaurant is an old-style diner that can only hold about 20 people including six at the lunch counter.
The food is really good, especially the mushrooms, but there are some issues. The restaurant looks like it was a 50's restaurant before they purchased it and the decided to keep it that way. The restaurant is like an odd triangle shape with limited seating and out dated seats on top of it. The food is worth it with pretty decent prices. Ramen is about $10 a bowl, but I think I'll just get it to go, next time.
I really like this place's vibe, people and food, but I feel like just a couple tiny tweaks could kick things up a notch. Their ramen is delicious, but I feel like if they marinated the eggs they use in a little soy sauce and sugar, that would be a huge improvement. Their milk tea boba is also delicious. But, I think their fruit tea could be improved if they let their black tea base steep for just a little less time- it ends up being pungently bitter. Pulling the tea out of the water earlier or cold brewing it would solve this problem. Those are just minor things though, only posting 3 stars in hopes they may see this and try the suggestions. Otherwise a solid 4-5!
Clean, well run, excellent service but sadly the food needs a little more effort. Certainly not bad by any stretch of the imagination but not at a level expected in the bay area. Noodles need improvement, meat was not tasty and broth was not correct taste. Few places in the hills take such pride and this place would be an absolute winner if the ingredients were perfected.
Broth wasn’t hot and mushrooms were waaaay too sweet. Had to pick them out, but they already made the broth too sweet
I use to love this place when it was on the corner it was small it was awesome and the food was absolutely incredible... Unfortunately like many restaurants in the foothills it is average. Sadly a lot of the passion for food doesn't last in the foothills and this is no exception. Pork belly was cold & thick was almost inedible to some degree. The broth was fantastic. Not as spicy as it used to be which really is a bummer. The egg was not soaked in soy which takes away from the umami. The noodles were delicious. So the noodles and the broth are phenomenal which makes great ramen. It's the other ingredients that are lacking in my opinion. Can of soda cost $2.50 so at the end of the day three bowls of ramen and one order of gyoza one extra order of noodles two cans of soda. $76.00
This ramen was alright. The broths (we got black garlic and tonkotsu) were flavorful. I did not love the mushrooms, which were very sweet. I think if there were fewer mushrooms it would be better. It sucks you only get one piece of pork belly per bowl, and the meat was dry. The eggs were a bit overcooked and I wish they were marinated, but oh well. The taro bubble tea had great flavor, it was just super sweet at full sugar, so I'd recommend less. The jasmine green milk tea was not sweet at all so my boyfriend who dislikes sweet drinks really liked it. The service was extremely fast and our server was nice. Overall, I have cooked better ramen at home myself so I wouldn't pay to go here again, but it was decent. I also wish they'd put prices on the menus so I wouldn't have to pull out my phone to check the prices.

I really enjoy your ramen, but PLEASE start marinating your ramen eggs again! Or at least offer it as an upgrade. The flavor is just fantastic and I miss the marinated eggs 😭

It wasn’t clear from the menu online that it didn’t come with any toppings and I needed to choose every single topping I wanted individually. Maybe I would know that if I had had Ramen before, but I hadn’t. So, the only topping I chose was pickled ginger, because I thought that would be in addition to everything else. So I basically got cuppa noodles and pickled ginger for 20 bucks. Not worth the money without the toppings.
This restaurant is 3 hours from where I live but it’s okay because I like their food. I ordered take out on my way home UNFORTUNATELY, they didn’t put in the whole order for me and I was left with one meal for the two of us. When I phone, they put the blame on me and told me to make sure the wait staff knew that I made 2 orders…WHAT???!!!!’ I think that their job is to take the order!! Basically they said, “that sucks for you!”
This was a $52.00 lunch for one rice bowl, one ramen bowl, one sake, and one appetizer. The menu has no prices so who knew? There is no menu to see. If you scan the code, you get an online order form, but still no menu. The appetizer came and there were no small plates to divy our food. We just dropped sauce all over. We had to use our one napkin. You get chopsticks, but no forks are offered. The sake came in a small carafe bottle and they didn't bring a glass for it. The waitress offered me a shot glass to our it in.
Wow! We hadn't gone for several months and went to order online and saw the prices had gone up unreasonably! One bowl for $20!! Greedflation we surmise but hope that's not true. This has always been our go to every few weeks but no longer sad to say. Fantastic food too. We hope their prices come back to something more reasonable, as they were a year ago.
I didnt make a post about it before because i thought it was a one time thing, i gave almost a year to give this place another chance just to be called and told they would not serve me because i got food poisoning from their restaurant and i called to tell them i did, to let them know, and they told me they were sorry and to call in to order from now on. Well tried ordering today and as we were about to leave i received a phone call of them cancelling my order and telling me they take food poisoning very seriously here which is why they will no longer be serving me. Just doesnt really make sense but ok. They did refund me but we never diacussed me never ordering from there again, me and my husband both got food poisoning i would never lie about this it is a serious thing which is why i brought it to the restaurants attention in the first place. clearly nothing has changed nor were they gonna change anything to begin with which is why they fired me as a client. Your waitress even said that another client complained about the mushrooms tasting funky and agreed that it could be that. Be Better. Be Healthy. Do Better.
We haven't been for a little bit and the prices are way overpriced. I understand they may, like some restaurants, give health care and benefits ( which we support) but the price increase since we were there last is still way overpriced for a bowl. We are boycotting but if the price comes down a bit we will absolutely continue to visit but until then...the food is absolutely delicious though. Unfortunately we just can't afford it as it is now. Loyal customer for years.
