Really enjoyed our meal at The Waterfront Seafood Grill! Our server, Michael, was attentive and gave great suggestions. Even on a busy night, we never felt like things were moving slowly or the servers attention was split. Food was delicious too! A wonderful place in Napa for a date night, night out, or just some great food.
Quite good! The outdoor seating under the heaters along the riverside was pleasant, the service was good, and the food was great. Everything I tried tasted fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned: mixed greens salad with pistachios and goat cheese; fried calamari and shrimp (with olives and lemons); ahi poke; and pan-fried branzino. I guess if there's any room for improvement, it's that the cocktails could be more unique/interesting, and the prices are a little high (but not worse than similar spots in Napa Valley)... the indoor dining area also doesn't appeal to me (but we liked the patio dining) I would definitely come back for a special dinner.
Very good food, including perhaps the best lobster bisque I've had in years. Very good service. Maître d' did excellent job, above and beyond, alerting our waiter and busboy to the fact that one of our party had hearing difficulties.
Visited this place while vacationing with some girlfriends. Talk about exquisite service! Alexi made us feel like the only guests in the restaurant, and his attention to detail was consistent. Now, the food was everything we imagined it would be. Fresh seafood and everything seemed to melt in our mouths. I will definitely visit this place again the next time I'm in the West Coast. Perfect ambiance, food, and service!
When we first arrived the young lady and Asian Man were talking and not even welcoming us. Thankfully the Manager Sandy saw us not getting helped and came over. We quickly got sat for our reservation after that. The food was incredible! Everything was extremely fresh and full of flavors! Highs were the clam chowder and oysters !
My husband and I were looking to find a place to have a drink along the Napa River and discovered The Waterfront. We arrived just after 3PM as Happy Hour commenced. We got a seat at a high top and enjoyed prompt, friendly service. We asked if they had a shrimp cocktail available, as it wasn't on the menu, and they made sure we got one. We enjoyed it with an order of crispy, very lightly breaded onion rings. Yum! The outdoor patio is situated right on the Riverwalk, so there's some good people watching and a nice breeze from the river. You can also watch people come and go from the launch of the kayak and gondola area. NOTE: Happy hour is 3:00 to 5:00PM and it is strictly on the patio, at the outdoor bar and high top tables. If you can't find a seat at either, you will not be served.
This was our first meal in Napa and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Good food and service and excellent location right on the new Riverfront complex. The two of had the coconut prawns, the lobster roll and the jumbo scallops. I was going to get the lobster but the scallops orders from the other tables were huge! So i opted for the scallops. The lobster rolls was prepared with small chunks of lobster. It was more like a grilled tuna sandwich, but with lobster. You couldn't compare this with RH Yountville's lobster roll. Now that was a real lobster roll, one of the best. See my review of that place. I would definitely come back. Thenfood was super fast (all the food came so quickly.) And the serice and food was good.
1st pic cioppino- truly amazing. Fresh seafood. 2nd picture was Chilean sea bass with mash potatoes, asparagus and cauliflower. Sea bass was buttery and melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this place. We also had oysters Rockefeller which was amazing as well. Price point for all was about 150 not including tip. Amazing service as well.
Reviews on this place have been amazing! We walked around 1st street before dinner and had a great time. We haven’t been back to downtown Napa for approx 10 years we were suprised how revitalized it was!! Back to the waterfront - Epi bread, fish ceviche, fresh oysters on a half shell, then steamed mussels! Epic night at the Waterfront! A great way to celebrate our 16th Year Wedding Anniversary.
Nice location, great service and terrific seafood. We had the scallops and the chilean sea bass, and they were both delicious. I did think it was a little pricey compared to other places downtown, but the food was great.
This place is legit. I was seated at the bar (can't make reservations for 1 in Napa) but was worth it all the same. First course was Shrimp cocktail with shrimp so large they could of been mistaken for a lobster tail all 4 delicately sitting in one of the best housemade cocktail sauces I have had, WELL DONE..For the main entree I settled on the crab enchiladas and again was not disspointmented in the least. The filling was a mixture of definitely fresh sweet crab with and poblano peppers for balance and It came with some rice that was actually very good and exploding with flavor. I've been watching this restaurant since opening and am pleased to see the level of service, food quality and preparation to surely become a go to restaurant in the heart of downtown Napa.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at The Water Front Sea Food Grill. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Amber and Leticia truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. Amber was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. Leticia was just as warm and welcoming, ensuring everything was perfect throughout the meal. Their teamwork, professionalism, and genuine kindness really stood out. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared, but what made the evening memorable was the outstanding service. It’s rare to find staff who are both efficient and sincerely friendly. We will definitely be coming back and will be asking for Amber and Leticia again. Highly recommend! Will recommend the Apple Bread Pudding with the Caramel ice cream as a dessert. A must have 💯🔥
i had the noodles with clams and it was ok. A bit bland so I asked for a side of pasta sauce. My husband had clam chowder and I must say, it was the best I've ever had. We are from Seattle and we tried tons of CC but this was the BEST. He also ordered the Steak with shrimp, asparagus and patatos and that was the bomb. Their bread also is fantastic. We sat outside and the atmosphere was very nice. Best of all was our waitress Yvonne (729). Very friendly and outgoing. She really made the experience top notch. Thank you Yvonne 🤗
Wonderful experience. We dined outside along the river. We shared a shrimp cocktail. For dinner I had the seared scallops with spinach and mashed potatoes while my husband had the spaghetti with shrimp and crabs. Both were excellent. For dessert we had the Caramel Apple Bread Pudding.
Beautiful space and great seafood! Highly recommend scallops, cioppino and sea bass!
Be sure to make reservations. We arrived earlier than our reservations, and luckily, we were able to secure seats at the bar. We initially were going to have drinks only until reservation time but decided to proceed with dinner at the bar. The food was fresh, flavorful, and fast. Also enjoyed the apple bread pudding for dessert.
Wonderful waterfront dining experience. Note: The entrance is on the waterfront side, not the street side. We did outside dining. The weather was beautiful and the view was as well. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. I followed several of the suggestions and am pleased that I did. The food was delivered quickly. Plated for a queen... which made me feel royal 😉. Sooooo good! I don't have enough words. If you have the opportunity, this is worth the visit. But the surrounding shops close around 5 pm if you want to shop. Definitely walk the area either way, and thank me later!
Our recent dining experience at The Waterfront Seafood Grill in Napa Valley (July 2024) was nothing short of exceptional! The restaurant's location right on the water made for a stunning backdrop, creating a serene and picturesque setting that elevated the entire evening. The views alone are worth the visit! The service was top-tier from start to finish. Our server not only provided excellent attention but also had an impressive knowledge of wines. He guided us to the perfect pairing for our meals, making the dining experience even more special. The ambiance was just right, with perfect lighting that added to the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The food? Absolutely fantastic! The menu is full of delicious options, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any choice. Yes, it is a bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected in Napa Valley, and the quality you receive makes it well worth it. Overall, it was a flawless dining experience. We highly recommend The Waterfront Seafood Grill and will definitely be returning on our next Napa Valley trip. If you're looking for an unforgettable evening with great views, service, and food, this is the place to go!
Great spot on the riverfront, this BLTA was 🔥 Hit the spot on a warm afternoon. What looked to be about 1 inch slices of fresh baked bread, produce that tasted like it was just picked from the garden, and delicious thick cuts of smokey bacon. Everything I've had here is amazing, this was just today's pick. Zero regrets. Go get one. Or something else.

Absolutely loved this dining experience! Treated my mother-in-law to a birthday dinner at this restaurant. The food was phenomenal. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was relaxed.
Excellent service, delicious entrees and a fun location. Order the prawns, you will be happy you did.

This was our first time to Napa and our first night here. We walked in very early without a reservation and luckily it wasn't busy yet, so we were seated on the relaxing patio with the river view. Our server, Monica, was excellent!! Greeted right away, educated us on the menu items we were interested in, and checked on us often. Thank you, Monica! We shared everything and all three items were delicious! The New England clam chowder was so tasty and our entree, the Halibut special was delectable over roasted brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes! Highly recommend and make a reservation if you plan to go later than we did. Bon Appetit!

Recommended by a friend for my 50th birthday outing. The staff was great and helpful. Great vibes. We did outdoor dining, and the weather was wonderful. The food was delicious all my friends and my husband enjoyed what they ordered. I ordered an Oscar filet mignon, which was delicious, I gave food a 4 star because i was not impressed with the food presentation. Maybe the chef was tired. Lol They served me a crème brûlée to seal my birthday celebration. Overall, it's a nice restaurant.
The food here is very good. I recommend the very fresh oysters. The lobster bisque soup is rich and creamy. The prime rib sliders had tasty thin strips of prime rib, au ju, crispy onion rings, and garnished with whole dill pickles. The fresh beet salad with a beautiful array mixed greens and radicchio all in flavorful vinegarette and cream dressings. The filet was cooked to perfection topped with a balsamic glaze, creamy mashed potatoes, and crisp broccoli and cauliflower crowns. The chioppino was beautifully done with fresh fish, clams, shrimp, and dungeness crab legs, garnished with sour dough baggette toast.
The location is really nice. Seating inside was loud while outside was pleasant with a nice view. Heat lamps present. The service was prompt and friendly. We were here on mother's day weekend so some items we wanted to order were already sold out. The food was good but not ultimately worth the price. The cook on my steak was off by a fair margin. Desserts were very tasty. Cocktails were very good. Would come back for apps, drinks and desserts.
We decided to sit outside overlooking the waterfront, and it was truly worth it. The weather was just right, and the service was incredible. The only downside with sitting at one of the high tables is less surface space to eat with the food options we chose. Our waiter/bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, and when he noticed a drink I ordered wasn't up to what it entailed on the menu, he immediately made a new one for me and swapped out the old one. The food was AMAZING! We had Ceviche for our starter, crab enchiladas, and a lobster roll for dinner, followed by Creme Brulee and a bread pudding for dessert! We'll DEFINITELY come back!

Dropped in on a Wed evening without reservations and were seated outdoors immediately. Competing with a group of 29, the staff seated us and accelerated drinks and appetizers to fit our order in before large party. Many thanks!! Beautiful night in Napa, heaters were cooking so outdoors was very comfortable. Food was great with wid range of "Napa-Affordable" dishes. Recommended!
The food was delicious I had the grilled Atlantic Sea Bass, my wife had the Scallops and she was extremely pleased with how nice it was done. You definitely will enjoy your meal here the location is really cool right on the Napa River close to many places in downtown. This was our first time here and we definitely will come back and try other things, but it is a little bit on the more expensive side.
I wouldn’t see. It was decent. My wife got the pork ordered medium rare. It was brought extremely well done. She sent it back and they brought it out less than rare. Unsafe. Disgusting. Server was average at best. Atmosphere is quite nice.
With so many restaurants to choose from, this is average. It’s loud and hard to hear across the table. The portions are ample and the flavors average. We had the scallops and halibut. Fresh fish should not smell fishy but this halibut did. Service was attentive.
We have never been to Napa so we wanted to go to a higher quality restaurant to have a nice experience on the Napa River. We discussed if parking were an issue, we would go someplace else. It was an artificially built made to look historic building with no direct parking but since we found street parking (after making a u turn in the street), we stayed. At first, I was excited, I loved the river front, the look of the outside bar, and the design of the restaurant. I walked in and no one was there to greet us, the open kitchen staff (where there appeared to have at least 10 workers), just kept working, didn’t acknowledge me, and the few who looked up, didn’t say “someone will be right with you” or anything. We waited a few more minutes and thought about leaving. When someone did arrive, I said it seems like there will likely be a lot of people customers arriving later, and she shook her head and said “no”. All I could think was, that’s a large staff to pay for not many patrons for a restaurant. What a sad state of affairs for a world renowned town like Napa to have ungrateful staff, I saw another couple staff members jibber jabbering out front and being so disrespectful of anyone dining there. The server was excellent - he deserves 5 stars. We started with soup and salad and decided if it wasn’t 5 stars, we may not order an entree. The Caesar salad was poorly chopped, had minimal dressing, and the soup was luke warm. We decided to leave. The architecture was beautiful - I took photos when we first arrived. But not impressed with the food so didn’t take any images of the disappointment. Wasn’t going to do a review but I think the Owner should know he’s wasting his money on staffing.
We had a pleasant overall experience at Waterfront Restaurant in downtown Napa. The scallops were well prepared and definitely the standout dish for us. The pork chop was cooked through a bit more than requested—we ordered medium and it came out closer to well done—but it was still flavorful. The dining room was quite loud, which took away slightly from the experience. Overall, it was a good meal, just nothing that particularly set it apart for us.
The food -dinner-was good in part. Too much balsamic on the burrata I couldn't even taste anything else. The muscles were good and the broth was tasty. The chocolate cake was amazing. The service was not so good.

The best plate we had was the salad. The mussels had some chorizo in it, when typically would be inviting, except for in this dish. My wife ordered the branzino and the flavor was not there. I had the sea bass and only reason I devoured it was because I was hungry. I literally had better food on the wine train. Service was good, but with that food it didn’t really matter. Literally got back to the hotel and neither my wife or I were feeling well in the stomach. Literally the worst food we’ve had during our Napa experience.
Meh. You're definitely paying for the real estate not the food... The food was subpar especially considering the not insignificant price point. The oysters were good but it sure would have been nice if they told us which kind they had and let us choose which ones we got. The crab cakes tasted flat and under salted. I didn't know what to make of the ceviche, it came out formed as a cylinder on a flat plate and was virtually dry of any citrus... It had some oil drizzled around at least, maybe that's a style I'm not familiar with but I very much like having more of the citrus to be present, I feel like the juice is a huge part of ceviche for me and this fish had virtually none. The cioppino was decent and a good portion, a big part of why I got it was the saffron aioli but that didn't come though much for me. Overall, not mad but not going back and wouldn't recommend it.
Context: We are locals and we went on a Saturday night. Buzz words: Over priced, bland, forgettable, and poor food quality. Service: Our waiter had way too big of a section, we never saw him. He was friendly when we did but everything took too long because he was stretched too thin. Give them smaller sections. Food: I’m so bummed, the food quality was equivalent to apple bees except seafood style. Every single one of our dishes had no flavor except spicy? And three of our dishes had two rock solid bread logs covered in this WEIRD yellow mustard sauce that had no flavor?? It was unappetizing and unappealing to looking at. It turned everything yellow. The scallop dish had SO MUCH wet soaked spinach it was so gross. Another thing, a handful of plates for our table and the table next to us came out scorching hot (steaming hot) in a way that resembled microwaves or reheat. Plates shouldn’t be hot to the touch at the top where no food is located… Especially the spaghetti that visibly looked like it had been sitting under a warmer for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, we will not return.
Not worth the wait. We were running 10 minutes late, and phoned ahead. Still our party of 6 waited 40 minutes, and the were seated at the bar. Management provided Prosecco and an appetizer. An hour past the reservation, we were offered a table. This is a very loud, tight, waterfront restaurant. The bits of lobster in the bisque were chewy. In general, the seafood flavor was off, including the “three White Mexican Prawns” (standard size shrimp) , tail-on, in the spaghetti. The Chilean Sea Bass was so rubbery, it was sent back. There is a full bar.

Our group made a reservation but the host said to wait in the bar without any explanation. So we are waiting in the bar for 15mins and we asked the host how long we have to wait. The host wasn’t even apologize and she just doesn’t care. We had to wait 30mins to get a table. The food was good but we were already felt uncomfortable to enjoy dinner. It seems like their operation system is messed up.
