The Salty is a small, cozy café in 12th South. They offer a good range of baked goods, some of which are seasonal. The mixed berry cheesecake donut was exactly what it sounds like and delicious! The donut was fresh, with a generous cheesecake filling, berry icing, and cookie crumble. The salted caramel latte is a must-try! It was perfectly balanced in sweetness and full of flavor. The cold brew lemonade was another excellent, refreshing choice. Seating can be a little tight, but the staff are always warm and welcoming, which I really appreciate.
I was fortunate to be apart of their soft opening and wow! First of all - the coffee is unreal. Tastes very close to Blue Bottle (if you're familiar)! The donuts were delicious, breakfast sandwich was , and the avocado toast was phenomenal. Perfect grab and go spot made of high quality fresh ingredients. Fun atmosphere and very friendly staff. Thank you so much!! We will definitely be back.
I went to check out The Salty (Donut) in 12 south today as I'm so excited we had a location open in Nashville this summer! I used to live in Miami and would visit their location in Wynwood at least once a month, so I am super excited to have these amazing donuts nearby now! The store front is super cute and in a great area of 12 South. I loved that the staff was so sweet and that there was both indoor and outdoor seating available. I tried to vanilla iced latte and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet! I also got 2 donuts, the chocolate cake (to die for!) and the brown butter & salt cake (also good, but not as good as the chocolate). I love this style of donut more than those that are branded as "multi-layers" because these donuts had a perfect kind of consistency and weight to them. I also ordered the ham & cheese croissant, which was my favorite food item! The ham and cheese were so delicious in a perfectly flakey croissant crust. I can't wait to go back and get another one!
This is not another run-of-the-mill coffee/breakfast spot. The Salty Donut lives up to the hype!! I attended their soft opening and tried most of the menu items and loved every single one of them. My favorite donut was the Mixed Berry Cheesecake and my favorite breakfast item is a tie between the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich and the Avocado Toast. SO GOOD. 12 South has been growing like crazy lately, and this new addition is well worth the visit. Plus, they have great business hours open early AM - PM. Eden was at the cashier when my group ordered and he was SO helpful and kind, which made for a wonderful first impression. Thanks for having us, I can't wait to return!
I got the Mixed Berry Cheesecake Donut. I was really expecting it to be way too sweet. I was very pleasantly surprised! It was so good and I would definitely get it again. The staff person working there when I went was incredibly kind and helpful. Shout out to him! I told him I don’t know anything about coffee, but wanted to get something for my partner and he made a custom drink which I was later told was very yummy. I got a matcha as well. Probably not my favorite matcha in town, but a pretty good one! The shop itself is so cute. While I would have loved for it to have the convenience of having its own parking lot, it was pretty easy to park on the street nearby.

We tried the Banana Cream Cold Foam Latte and the Brown Butter & Salt Donut (vanilla bean cake donut with a brown butter glaze and Maldon sea salt). Both were delicious—the latte was smooth with just the right sweetness, and the donut had a perfect balance of rich flavor and a hint of salt. The shop itself is small but cozy, with a few outdoor tables for seating. Service was friendly and quick, which made the stop even better. Like most places in 12 South, parking can be a challenge (and usually paid), so plan ahead. Overall, a solid choice for a sweet treat and coffee break while exploring the neighborhood.
Oh my goodness, where do I start! Everyone I met today is so sweet! Jackson running the counter assisted me in picking out a donut that would hit the spot - even though I came in the afternoon the strawberry and pistachio donut tasted fresh! The texture was phenomenal, unlike any donut I’ve ever had. I was even able to meet the man behind making the donuts today, Jerry! You can tell everyone here gives it their all, and you can taste it! I’m excited to come back and try out some of their savory food.
Very cute spot! Counter style with indoor and outdoor seating (dog friendly!). Almost no like at 730am on a Friday. We had the key lime donut, berry cheesecake donut, bacon egg cheese croissant, cinnamon milk cereal latte, and banana cream cold brew - all delicious! The weakest was probably the croissant but that’s expected. Service was incredible, super nice staff. We’ll be back!
Just came for the donuts and coffee - great location, clean and welcoming atmosphere, great selection. Cold brew is very good and staff was knowledgeable about different options. The brown butter donut was delicious, inbetween a cake and a lighter donut, the dough was flavorful and the icing was drool-worthy. If I’m ever close enough again, you bet I’ll be back to try another one.

This is a great spot to stop for breakfast in. 12 South. We went on Labor Day and sampled a number of donuts and the Honey and Sea Salt Cragel was the favorite even with my youngest child. Yes, you read that right- the donuts are great but the cragel is so good my kids were stealing bites from me. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
Im ecstatic to have my favorite donut shop in South Tampa to open up shop in my part of town 🥰 I tried them out for the first time a little over a year ago and was pleasantly surprised at how much they tasted like European donuts (just with a lot more toppings)! The dough reminds me of the Polish donuts called ”Pączki”, as they have dont have preservatives and only stay fresh for less than a day. Love that they are made in house daily just like back home. The staff is always so pleasant and cheerful when ordering and I’ve never waiting long for anything. Also don’t get me started on how clean their kitchens and shops are!! A friend and I came to their Seminole Heights GO and got a chance to score some free items. We got the everything cragel, Oreo cake donut holes, and three donuts: the strawberry dress, leches, guava and cheese, and the brown sugar peach cobbler. To drink I got a cold brew (forgot to ask for no ice so it was okayy) and my friend ordered the matcha lemonade. I can’t decide on what was my favorite to say the least. Can’t wait to be back already!
Love love love this spot! The food is delicious, the service is amazing, and the options for seating are perfect. The staff is VERY kind. I brought my puppy with me and had no issues. I love places that let me bring my fur baby along. If you are looking for some coffee, good eats, and a chill spot to be, this place is it!
Having tried The Salty in another city, I was excited it was opening here in Nashville! They did not disappoint! The staff were super welcoming, and the donuts were amazing....the peach cobbler donut is more like a pastry experience. Of course, the coffee was great as well. We'll definitely be going back!
Everything we tried (everything cragel, honey & sea salt cragel, glazed brioche donut holes, and a brown butter & salt cake donut) was delicious, particularly the everything cragel and brown butter & salt cake donut — soooo good! Service was prompt … only miss was that they didn’t toast the everything cragel as it was shown on receipt, so somehow that was missed. They were making more croissants when I arrived, so I didn’t get to try the breakfast sandwich as hoped. Definitely will be back!
I haven’t been to salty donut in person, but have ordered 2x via DoorDash. My son loves their gluten free whoopie pie donut! The lattes are sooo good. But the real reason I’m leaving this review is because of the service! The dasher delivered my coffee, but didn’t bring my donuts. Before I could even call DoorDash, Josh from Salty Donut had reached out, scheduled a second dasher to deliver, and gifted me a free box of donuts for the mistake (which wasn’t his to take accountability for!). I will continue to order from Salty, not only bc it’s delicious but because of the incredible service. Thank you!!!

I ordered dinner from Postmates and it was recommended as an add on. Wow their coffee and chai drinks are amazeballs!! I had the brown sugar chai latte (delish!) and the cinnamon cereal milk latte. I swapped for oat milk and both were way better than I could’ve imagined and I’m a total coffee snob! I got a regular glazed donut for my Dad who is in hospice care and is very picky about donuts and he loved it. The coffee and donut brought us joy so thank you to them! Now go try their coffee!!! ❤️
I ordered dinner from Postmates and it was recommended as an add on. Wow their coffee and chai drinks are amazeballs!! I had the brown sugar chai latte (delish!) and the cinnamon cereal milk latte. I swapped for oat milk and both were way better than I could’ve imagined and I’m a total coffee snob! I got a regular glazed donut for my Dad who is in hospice care and is very picky about donuts and he loved it. The coffee and donut brought us joy so thank you to them! Now go try their coffee!!! ❤️

I ordered it with half-and-half because I prefer my coffee extra creamy, but it tasted like plain, watered-down coffee with no dairy at all. I even double-checked with the barista to make sure half-and-half was used, because I genuinely couldn’t taste any creaminess. If you’re used to coffee with half and half, the difference is very obvious.

I ordered the pairing that they had advertised on the menu that came with a sweet corn latte (tasted like I was drinking cold cream corn soup) and the salted butter donut (was pretty good) and also ordered the hot honey ricotta toast ( was pretty underwhelming need more flavor to it and would of been great if the toast was served warm. Would maybe come back for lunch some of the menu items sounded pretty good.
