We just left the restaurant for our daughter's 21st birthday and we absolutely loved it. The food was phenomenal and the drinks amazing. We had a 3:45 reservation but arrived early and they sat us at our table. Our server was awesome. We didn't feel rushed to leave and the restaurant had such a cozy feel you just don't want to leave. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a great experience. See you soon.
My daughter took me for a beautiful birthday dinner today! We were seated immediately by the owner. What an incredible menu with many gluten-free options and careful preparation in the kitchen. The food was outstanding and the service was great. Our waitress Deana was so nice and helpful.. They all came over and saying happy birthday to me!! Excellent Gluten Free cheese cake! Coming from the South Shore, Eastern LI definitely one of my new favorite places to eat! Manga!! 🍝
Came her tonight for a Birthday dinner and have to say the drinks were amazing, the food was absolutely delicious and probably the best service I’ve ever had. Everyone was extremely friendly and Michael came out of his way to check in on us multiple times. Our new favorite go to resturant.
The pink sauce of Gamberetti Regazzi was a great balance of creamy and peppery flavor. I had to cut the shrimp into threes they were so big! My cousin and I split the tiramisu and it came with a strawberry sauce that was a good complement. It seems like a good date night spot too.
This place was amazing! Staff were super friendly and service was quick. Food was delicious and reasonably priced and there were SO MANY safe gluten free options including stuffed pastas, arancini balls, and many desserts! And they were indistinguishable from traditional. Highly recommend, was so happy I found this place on a random look for food my one night in town.
This is one of our favorite places to go out to eat. My wife and I had our first date here as well as our tiny COVID wedding. The service is always as outstanding as the food! Taylor in particular is an outstanding employee! Definitely try this restaurant. The tortellini is outstanding and the Pollo Nonna and Pollo Shabano are both incredible.
Fantastic Food, Excellent Service, just a wonderful Experience! The food and service at Ragazzi Italian Restaurant are outstanding. There are many gluten-free options available on their menu, such as fried mozzarella and rice balls. The portions are substantial, and the meals were all very delicious, fresh, and tastefully presented. Roger, the owner, and Mike, the General Manager, both went above and above for my wife and me. To commemorate our anniversary, they made sure we had a lovely booth. Landon, our server, was fantastic; he was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. To make it a warm and unforgettable event, everyone went above and beyond. For Italian food, this is a must-try.
Really nice meal. Staff was attentive but not lingering around. Struck the right balance. Our server(Allison I believe was her name) was very pleasant and dialed in. Made the night better. A couple of the managers also chipped in and kept things moving for us. Food was very good. Drinks were nice as well. Will definitely try again next time I'm in the area.
AH-mazing. A work friend recommended this restaurant because I have Celiac's and struggle to eat out with gluten restrictions. I am so glad I tried them! The GF menu is so large and, most importantly, so delicious! My fiancee is not gluten free but could not even tell between regular and GF! The service is so wonderful, too. The manager came by twice to see how we were. Quality, quantity and the atmosphere is amazing. Very intimate!
Made reservations for Sunday 5pm. The restaurant was crowded. There were a couple of parties happening also . We used a Groupon we purchased on this visit. We had eggplant Parm, vodka pizza, tortellini, calamari etc. Everything was prepared nicely and was plated nicely as well. Service was very good with water refills without asking and waiting, the waitress inquired a few times as to how everyone was doing. The manager stopped by to check as well. So I would say the food was good, service was good and the portions were large. We would definitely return with friends next time
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The owner, Roger, spoke to us, as well as the manager, Michael. They were very personal and accommodating. The food was so delicious, even the free focaccia bread with sauce. The chicken scarpariello was a show-stopper. Plus, free jelly beans! I will definitely be returning soon.
Food was EXCELLENT! So happy I made this my birthday dinner, I also used a Groupon which helped out the bill my family paid for which wasn't too bad of prices 🥰. Parking was not too bad. Drinks were tasty. Staff were so kind, I couldn't eat any dessert so they brought out a dish of whipped cream with the sparkler in it for my birthday wish :) so lovely🥰 I will definitely go back if I'm ever around there again.
This is one of my parent’s go-to restaurants. Everything is always delicious. We just had my Dad’s 80th birthday there and all the meals were top-notch. We started with calamari fritti which was cooked to perfection. The wasabi aioli dipping sauce is amazing. Pollo Scarpiello is not a dish I find in too many restaurants and it’s one of my favorites. I love that they offer it with bone-in or boneless chicken. They were very accommodating about special requests as well. I ended the meal with a cappuccino and tartufo which is another item you don’t always find. All delicious. The waitress took excellent care of us. There was a slight kerfuffle when they gave our main floor table to another group (my dad is in a wheelchair) but we got him up the stairs and the staff was very apologetic.
My wife is native to Long Island, NY and has made it one of her purposes in life to show me why it's so great. The next stop toward my LI culinary enlightenment brings us to a lovely restaurant called Ragazzi. Allow me to start with the bread baskets. You don't just get fresh baked bread, with little butter squares. This place makes your head roll ;-) with a basket of focaccia and garlic knots, perfect for sharing. Mike, the GM, who can be found upon entering is very kind, and will stop at nothing to make sure all who dine here are made to feel special, and welcomed. It was my first time, and certainly won't be my last. This place can get very busy, so reservations are recommended. I have no doubt that every item on their menu is exquisite. Prepared and cooked to the highest standard. Thanks for the Bella sera.
Great local Italian restaurant with wonderful service and a comfortable, though sometimes very busy atmosphere - a testament to quality. We eat here frequently and have nothing but good things to say about all of the dishes, which are always fresh and cooked to order. We often take food out as well.
The food was delicious, so much so I dug right in and forgot to take pictures. The atmosphere was great, but the service was unmatched! Really excellent customer service, not only did our server check in with us but the owners did as well. It felt like we were hosted at someones house. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We did not have a reservation and were able to get a seat on a Thursday night. The restaurant was hopping. There is ample parking and wheelchair accessible.
My husband and I have dined at Ragazzi on many occasions and have always been extremely satisfied and pleased. The staff is incredible! Owner Rodger, manager Micheal, bartender Andrew and entire hard working servers are top notch. They treat you like family. From the bread basket, cocktails, appetizers to dessert, We never had a meal that we didn't love. Quality delicious ingredients and generous servings! The restaurant is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. They will accommodate a large group to a small intimate affair. Why not stop by for a specialty cocktail at their gorgeous bar? Trust me you will become a loyal customer!
I’ve been here so many times Roger and his staff are the best. Great food great prices.
The food was excellent and delicious 😋. Our server Lantal was great and recommended the Pollo Gorgonzola and my husband love it. We were very pleased with the service, food, and music very nice atmosphere. Mike, the manager, came to the table to check on us...that was amazing to see that the manager visited his guest without being asked for, we were very impressed. This is definitely our new date night spot ... See you next week.
The food is absolutely delicious. We had Penne Vodka, a Personal Pizza and Mozzarella en Carozza finished off with a peanut butter dessert. A nice bottle of Merlot to to help savor the meal. We were lucky enough to get a high-top table without reservations. The place is very elegant and upscale. The waitress was on point and very professional. If out on Long Island I would highly recommend a visit.
Everything is 5 star! The family friendly atmosphere, the attentiveness of the manager and server, down to the bus people. Water glasses never went empty, drinks always filled, just excellent. To top it all off, THE FOOD, was absolutely delicious and the portions were for 2 or 3 meals. Definitely suggest going here and enjoy everything about Ragazzi. I shall not forget the delicious bread basket also, variety and flavor. 😋
Had a wonderful dinner with my daughter and future son in law tonight, our first visit. The atmosphere and staff were both warm and friendly. I had a wonderful gluten free plate of spaghetti w/meatballs that you would never have guessed were gluten free. They had the Pappardelle Bolognese and Penne with chicken and vodka sauce which they both enjoyed as well. Nice to find a restaurant we can all enjoy together, we’ll definitely be back!
Plenty of gluten-free options great for my son who has celiac
Always excellent! Roger and have done an amazing job of keeping it safe for all. Although we take in at least 3 x's a month since covid this was our first time back inside and it was perfect! The Matty special was delicious as was our entire meal. To top it off we had our favorite server Jose! So nice to be at home again!
Just left Ragazzi, date night with the wife. If you don't get out as often as you should and want a local casual yet fancy night out, Ragazzi is the perfect spot. Very cool atmosphere, great drink menu. If you have a gluten intolerance, this is the menu for you. I'd bet most people wouldn't notice the gluten free, if they weren't told. Dinner was delicious. I had the chicken, wife had the lobster ravioli. The waitress staff were joking with us, the manager Mike was very friendly. We really had a fantastic evening with delicious food.
The food was delicious and the service was great. The restaurant was packed but we were seated pretty quickly within our reservation time. My boyfriend proposed with a beautiful engagement ring at the restaurant! I was so surprised ! We were moved to a romantic table by the Manager. Everyone was cheering for us! The staff was so nice. It was a beautiful romantic night to remember!
The wait staff was very helpful, we are a group of people that belong to a Stroke Support Group and many of us rely on SCAT bus service for transportation and they dropped us off before Ragazzi opened, a waiter let us wait in the foyer out of the bitter cold and wind. I was the last of my group to leave and the waiter kept checking that I made it to the bus, he even braved the extreme cold to check that the bus was not in another spot waiting. The wait staff was excellent, providing prompt and impeccable service we were a group of 18-20. The food came out all at once no waiting for someone to be served before you started. There were a few of us that took our leftovers home, but the rest had clean plates, my judgement on the quality. The portions were not meager. An excellent afternoon good company and good food. Thank you
I have eaten here at least a dozen times and have hosted two large family events here. There is really nothing to complain about. The food is very good and the service is top notch. Most important for me is food safety as we have several gluten free family members. They're knowledgeable and clean and you know your food is safe. I gave atmosphere a 4 only because it could get noisy, but it's crowded because it's good. Definitely give it a shot.
We went here because of the extensive gluten free menu. What a surprise!! After years of not being able to eat things like ravioli and mozzarella sticks we were able to enjoy them again!! You would never know they were GF? Not only was the food spectacular but the staff and service are incredible too. Highly recommend to anyone seeking an exceptional dinner out!!
Had such a great date night with my husband. We came here and from the moment we walked in we had the best greeting by Michael. The service from start to finish was amazing. Our waiter was Jose. He was so kind, informative and attentive. Michael as well checked on so much and they both accommodated all our needs. We will definitely come back! We had to start the zucchini fries. I had eggplant for dinner and hubby had the bass over vegetables as he requested. He said the fish was amazing. He highly recommends it. We also had the Italian red wine and it was great! We came for 5pm because we like to eat early. I recommendations reservations if coming later.
It's so hard to find a restaurant that has a true gluten free menu! The his place is amazing! I spoke to the owner to tell him how wonderful the menu is. He is very knowledgeable and thorough with his gluten-free protocols. We found a new family dinner spot for sure!! Try it out! You won't be disappointed!
Landon was by far the best server I have had in my entire 22 years of existence so glad I could celebrate it with him.. 10/10 food and service
10/10 would recommend to anyone!! Landon was our server and was first class the entire night and on top of all refills and just all around everything.
Fantastic restaurant- Michael the manager treats you like family. For Michael alone I’d go back- he goes out of his way to make sure you’re taken care of. Our waitress was Theresa, she was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about both the menu and the overall kitchen operation. Theresa personally went out of her way to make sure my wife and I had a great experience. The food was delicious and the ambience was a perfect balance of elegance, intimacy and hospitality. The bar is a venue in and of itself- good drink menu though a bit heavy on vodka based drinks. I am told the gluten free menu is the best in the New York Metro area (not just Long Island). Locally owned and operated- I highly recommend Ragazzi’s! You won’t be disappointed.
My friend and I decided to try this place. We have driven past it for year, but never ventured inside. So glad we did! The atmosphere was cozy and elegant. The food was so flavorful and rich. If you get dessert, I highly recommend the peanut butter mousse cake. It was so decadent! The staff was friendly and the manager even came and greeted the tables. We will be going back.
From start to finish amazing ! my family enjoys this place so much the atmosphere so nice with an amazing staff we were greeted by Mike the manager at the front door all class, A real gentalmen he mke you feel like part of the Ragazzi family... A terrific menu and great drinks. looking forward on getting back there.. everything on the menu is spot on.. My favoriet is the popadele pasta and meaet sauce. mmmm so good.. ciao...
I had the pleasure of dining at Ragazzi, and I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, making it a great spot for both a casual dinner and a special night out. What truly sets Ragazzi apart, though, is the incredible manager, Michael. He is an absolute gem…welcoming, attentive, and sincerely passionate about ensuring every guest has a wonderful experience. Michael made us feel like family, checking in just enough to make sure we were happy without ever being intrusive. His personable nature and attention to detail added a personal touch. The food was fantastic…fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. Ragazzi is a place where you not only eat well but also feel truly cared for. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be coming back…largely thanks to Michael and his exceptional team!
If you want to know how to run a restaurant come here. From the moment you walk in the hostesses are friendly and engaging. If by chance they are off seating another customer there is always another staff member who steps in and takes care of you until she returns. It's not like many restaurants who ignore you with not my job attitude. Then all the wait and bus staff are trained perfectly and perform their jobs like they are ecstatic you are there. The food is always top notch never had anything even average but the shrimp in gorgonzola is beyond amazing. Micheal is the definition of the perfect Manager as Landon is the perfect server. They all are truly incredible just those 2 stand out even more. Only complaint is you can never get a last min reservation because they are so good so reserve early!
Amazing restaurant! Great menu selection of pasta, chicken, and seafood, servers are attentive without being overbearing, the place is always hopping (so you might want to make reservations, especially on weekends), and the food is plenty and perfect👌🏻. I couldn't ask for more.
OMG if you have food sensitivity and allergy this is the best. My favorite dish Pollo nonna they make gluten free and it's amazing
We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and decided last minute to call and see if they could accommodate 18 people. I spoke to Andrew when I called and he told me they'd happily do that. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Andrew with a big smile and seated immediately as they were already prepared for us. Our waitress, Kelse took our direction with split checks and executed it perfectly. All 18 meals came out at the same time..piping hot and delicious. Not one item forgotten, not one mistake. With a decade of experience in hospitality, I, along with the entire party were thoroughly impressed as we were in and out in only 1.5 hours. This restaurant is the real deal and Andrew and Kelse are 2 of the very best attributes.
Excellent dining experience from the moment we entered! We did not have a reservation but were warmly greeted by Michael who quickly sat us inside. Our waiter Anthony was very knowledgeable and helped me navigate the gluten free menu( almost everything can be made GF). We ordered the rice ball appetizer(gf), Ravioli bolognese(gf), gnocchi (hubby not GF) and everything was absolutely delicious! Good portion sizes and loved how attentive ALL the staff was. Water refills, plates cleared, bread upon seating, pro waiter, and Michael came to check on us as well. These are little things that are lacking in most places lately and it was a pleasure to be treated so well! Will be back again and we highly recommend Ragazzi Nesconset especially if you are GF.
My wife and i have been coming here every month since we purchased our home up the block… absolutely love this restaurant. The food for one, the atmosphere and the staff are all phenomenal. We always have full glasses and leave with a full belly. Highly recommend this establishment!
We have eaten at the restaurant numerous times and it is one of our favorite places to dine. Just yesterday, we had my daughter's christening dinner and it was phenomenal. Our guests left with happy full stomachs and excited to dine there again. The service is always exceptional, the wait staff is so attentive and the food is always delicious. The hardest part is choosing what to have with such incredible selections on the menu. The desserts are delicious, hands down my favorite Napoleon dessert on Long Island (highly recommend). Can't wait to dine again with my family. A huge thank you to Andrew for making our celebration day such a success. If you are looking for a place to have your special occasion definitely have it at Ragazzi.
Michael, the manager, pays great attention to detail and ensuring the customers are satisfied. Every time I've gone he's always been very professional, friendly and conscientious. The drinks were prepared well, the food excellent and the desire to return, even after moving out of state, memorable. Bravo to everyone there.
Had my wife's surprise retirement party there on Saturday Feb 1st. The food was amazing, the service was excellent. This place takes a back seat to nobody. The owner Roger came by to great us and make sure everything was going well. The servers Jose & Nicole along with all the other staff could of not been any nicer. If you are looking for a nice place to eat, I strongly recommend this place
My uncle died and we needed to gather after the viewing. Without hesitation, management jump right in to make a short notice accommodation. They treated my family special and service was impeccable making a hard time in our lives a bit easier. Outstanding!!
Me, my wife and son came to Ragazzi for my birthday. It was crowded but we were seated immediately, had bread and drinks in minutes. The food was FANTASTIC, and very large portions. My son and I each had chicken parm with spaghetti. The portions were easily 2 meals, my wife may get 3 out of her gnocchi in red sauce, which wasnt on the menu but they made with no hesitation when she requested it. We had a drink spill (our fault) and the manager, Michael, came over to replace the drink and bread that got drenched in soda. He came back a couple of times to check on us, offer refills and such. He couldn't have been more gracious. We all thought that was exactly how a manager at a place like Ragazzi should act. I had the silk and satin for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. 10/10 will definitely return
Let me just say the manager Michael and staff are amazing! My husband took us out for our birthday today on Aug 31 what a beautiful restaurant and the ambiance is so welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and compliments to the chef the food was incredible!!!!” Thank you so much for making our day so special, Joe, Casey and Gianna ❤️
I've been coming here monthly for the past year to meet up with a group of friends. Warm atmosphere with great food. Service is outstanding, thank you, Andrew!!! The owner, Roger, is hands on and stops by to see if everything is okay. They make us feel like family.
Delicious food! Kind staff! Amazing, relaxing restaurant. Also, great gluten-free, delicious options! I give this place all the stars - you will not be disappointed (and bonus - Michael the manager is so nice - treats everyone like family!)
My husband and I love the food, atmosphere and customer service we receive each time we go. We love Michael the manager who always makes sure we are well taken care of with his professional personality. Thank you 😊
Excellent gluten-free Italian food. I’ve never been to a restaurant with so many gluten-free options that all tasted amazing! Will be coming back soon!
Roger the restaurant owner, is top of the class! For lack a better term, He’s one of the last of the breads of true restaurant owners that take pride and ensure firsthand that the quality checking of his staff and cuisine is the best in town (or all of Long Island premier Italian establishments for that matter)!!! I am 26 years old and I cannot remember one birthday since my young adult life that I haven’t spent the night here with family friends, great atmosphere and the main reason everybody comes besides Roger’s hospitality….THE FOOD!!
Such a wonderful atmosphere!! Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. The hostess was so nice, the ambiance and delicious smells of Italian dishes filled the place. Our server was Casey and she was great. The Chicken Nonna and Penne a la Vodka entrees were amazing. Everyone eating there seemed to be enjoying their food and massive martinis from the drink menu. Multiple servers and manager checked in on everyone's tables. The cheesecake we took home was so good too.
Always an outstanding evening. Roger is a true restaurateur overseeing an outstanding team. And the food is awesome. The seafood salad is a nice portion of deliciousness. My branzino was cooked perfectly and my wife’s pollo nonna was delicious. My panna cotta was not as good as usual, perhaps missing the raspberry sauce? All in all, Regazzi never fails. Highly recommended!
Enjoyed a fabulous meal at Ragazzi! The menu was full of delicious choices and the food was terrific. I highly recommend the salmon and hot antipasta appetizer, my wife had the lobster ravioli and bruschetta. We split a cheesecake for dessert. Definitely a favorite place.
We’ve been going here for years. First visit and every time after, the food has been amazing. Beyond that, the staff and manager Roger have treated us more like family than guests. We were in tonight and my 6 year old having a rough day. Roger came over and had my kids laughing and smiling. I highly recommend this place for so many reasons beyond the perfect meals.
This is one of my family’s favorite restaurants! Every time we dine here they never disappoint. This time we dined here under special circumstances due to the passing of my uncle Robert. With short notice the staff at Raggazi’s was able to accommodate 15 family members. Our server, Adam, was outstanding!!! Genuinely patient and kind. The food, service and atmosphere is a 10/10 in my book! Looking forward to dining there again! Thank Ragazzi for taking Excellent care of me and my family!
Sunday night was my first time at the restaurant. I didn’t realize that that restaurant was in existence for 16 years. I’ve always passed it by since I thought it was chain run by a corporation.! So the three of us went in to eat a Sunday night dinner I was very surprised how good it was. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The waiters were everywhere prices more average considering what’s going on today. All I can say is we enjoyed ourselves and I will be going back again soon. I’m over 73 and I have no decent restaurants and I’m pretty picky too this place hits all cylinders for me good luck! Tell him Joey sent you!
Amazing Food, Outstanding Service, and a Wonderful Experience! Ragazzi Italian Restaurant exceeded all of our expectations! Their menu had an abundance of gluten-free options, including rice balls and fried mozzarella. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous—large enough for leftovers, which we loved! Our server, Andrew, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were perfect, and dessert was just as incredible as the rest of the meal. To top it all off, the manager took the time to come over and play tic-tac-toe with our daughter, making her feel so special. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves incredible food but also goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!
We arrived at 5:15 on a Saturday thinking we would beat the dinner rush. They were already on a 3 hour wait. But we got lucky and were able to be seated in the bar area immediately. (Party of 2). Service was excellent, I love seeing the manager/owner walking around, greeting guests and being “present” on the floor. Food- delicious! Top-notch. Penne alla Vodka and the Best ravioli my BF has ever had. Tiramisu and apple cobbler to finish it off. So so good. Highly recommend making RESERVATIONS!
Excellent food and service. Made a reservation through Google maps without an issue. Found the place by accident when looking at Groupon deals they showed up. Clean and modern decor and very attentive staff. Food was fresh and delicious! They also had a pasta night so it was excellent deal. I recommend giving them a try ! I’ll be back now that I found them :)
Took a chance on Groupon deal and worth every minute of a 40 mile drive. This sprawling Italian joint is modern, vibrant, energetic and oh yeah, the entire menu is off the chain. I love everything about this place. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m hooked for sure and can’t wait to return.
Went to dinner on a late Sunday afternoon and no reservationin December. We waited 45 minutes for a table, bar area was crowded, restaurant was decorated beautifully for holidays. We got a quiet table on upper tier and service was excellent. Mgr came over to tables to make sure everything was good. Drinks dinner dessert were all delicious!
We dine in last night and everything was on top. Our server was great, he gave us good service even if his section or majority of his tables was at the other side & we were sat close to the bar but he always made sure that we got everything we need. Also the Manager Michael was very friendly and professional, he does his job so good! He went to our table twice time I believe, just to make sure that were having an excellent dining experience. This place is a great place to dine. Food amazing. Definitely deserves a five star.
Our first time here. We used a Groupon and it was a nice saving. Great atmosphere. Decorated very nicely. Lighting was very unique. Restaurant was packed. I recommend making reservations. We had the chicken parmigiana, which was great. Also had the veal, which was tender, but a little bland. Our waitress was very friendly. Portions were huge. Next time we will save room for dessert.
Great menu a little pricey. One comment is they are stingy with portions and ingredients. Usually an order of calamari can be split by 2 people, here it is barely enough for me. I ordered a pasta and so did my date we both agreed it was very dry. How much could a couple spoonfuls of sauce cost? Also we asked for cheese, the guy gave 1 sprinkle of grated cheese and walked away. We asked our waitress who was happy to help. But again at these prices why are they withholding a dollars worth of food?
Last minute date night (Saturday 9/6/25 around 6pm). This is our second time here. We decided to stop in with no reservations. We were very warmly greeted. The wait was a little long for a table so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and nice. I’m probably going to get her name wrong bcuz she made my Lemon 🍋 Drop Martini to perfection and it’s also a day later 😊 I think it was Melissa. I remembered she had a black earring going across the top of her ear. She was very attentive as she checked in on us. The food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. The added Parmesan cheese was *chefs kiss*. I’ll be looking for her when we stop back in. You should too! (I put the date and time I went so the restaurant will know what bartender was working that night)
The food was very good. Our waitress was very good but then left before we were done and we got a new waitress. The water boy overfilled our glasses at least 4 times. Without apology or cleaning it up. We were there for my son's 21st birthday. Every other birthday around the restaurant got a huge sparkler on their dessert, my son got 1 small candle. A little disappointing. Staff was very sweet to sing to him though. When the restaurant is full it is pretty loud but as it emptied it was obviously quieter.
First and foremost, call in advance. It gets very busy. The atmosphere is excellent. The management understands comfort. I would suggest however that they consider doing something about the cold air riding in when the doors open in the winter. That gets pretty bad. Service is very good. They do try their best to seat people quickly but as if said, call in advance. The wait staff is on the ball. I will say however that they should ask if you want lemon in your water because I cannot drink an astringent to quench my thirst. It actually has an opposite effect. Yes they were able to accommodate but only after my throat tightened up from the lemon. Just a suggestion. So on to the main show, food. So after dining here I looked into whether this place was a corporate operation or the dream of a good business person. Why? The food. For a corporate place I would expect this quality of food. But non-corporate ownership I would expect a bit more than what we had. While my dining party was pleased. They were concerned about my lack of enthusiasm. I am sorry if I made them uncomfortable but they know I don't hold back. As for the management of Ragazzi, I am pleased about how well your business is doing, but truth be told you really need to elevate your quality a load more. I mean, fried cheese triangles and soggy calamari? Is this the Olive Garden? No insults are intended, just my honesty. My unsugared honesty. They do have some good dishes. The stuffed rigatoni is very nice. But it seems as everything is pasta in red sauce without any originality. There is a distinct lack of freshness in all of the dishes. Everything was premade and thrown together. The sauces tasted old and tired. We ordered a chicken with sausage and red peppers. Maybe at one time it was fresh, but not that night, or even the night before. Rather than a fresh chicken flavor and juiciness it was dry, old and a bit greasy. I rate restaurants based on the expectation, price and what they believe they are worth. Ragazzi only needs to fix their TV dinners (which I wouldn't eat to be honest) and offer up done real delicious food. Oh and to call this place Italian because you serve pasta is ethnically insensitive. Insulting even. Please if you need a new chef, please find one. If you're chef thinks they're fine, I pity them. I get it, suburban restaurant can lower the bar. No, you can't. I want this place to be better because everything about it screams excellence, except the food. I would love to return and be able to enjoy what we order but I guess it may be sometime until we can do so.
Went there after religion for a nice dinner party with friends. Table was perfect; our waiter was excellent; everyone was very attentive; the food was fabulous; the portions were huge. However, I think they need new dishwashers... immediately I saw my knife was dirty... then when i passed bread to a friend, I saw two black hairs on her white plate. Yikesl
Nice atmosphere but food isn't the greatest. Meatballs were dry center but the sauce was good. Rigatoni alla vodka wasn't good at all. The vodka sauce was acidic with minimal flavor and the pasta was not of good quality. Rigatoni was gummy in texture. Chicken that was added tasted and looked like something you'd add to a salad; something prepackaged at your local supermarket maybe. But hey; the bread was delicious.
The staff were perfect, friendly and attentive. There was a nice table setup with music playing which was nice & not too loud. Now the drinks & food, the bread first served was delicious and fresh 10/10. The portion size of the food was big enough to take some home. The Strawberry Mo-Tito drink was delicious but a bit strong if someone isn’t used to drinks (no complaints). The food we order was the Arancini (which were good but not cooked throughly) The Mac n cheese for kids (which was okay but something was a bit off from the cheese sauce) The Penne Alla Siciliana (the eggplant was on the bitter side and should’ve not been served/ it was spoiled) & finally the Pollo Gorgonzo which was the only decent dish.
Calling the chicken mid would be generous. I have never seen a more depressing plate of chicken in my life. There was no seasoning (the pepper you see in the photo was from me adding it from the table) and it tasted like it straight up came out of the microwave. My high school cafeteria can slap together a better chicken than this. The service was good which is why they get two stars. Do yourself a favor and avoid ordering chicken if you come here
Is it even Italian? Expensive prices for low quality food. Personally I feel Olive Garden is a better option. Not sure what anyone else meant by “ best food ever”. It just overall seemed like fake overpriced poorly seasoned Italian food. Thankfully my dad will eat just about anything so I can bring him the leftovers.
A few weeks ago we had my wedding dinner there. The food was great and the service okay. My complaint is about the cake I brought. It was a tall cake with 4 layers of sponge and 3 layers of filling. I asked the waitress to cut it at the table, since I wanted all my guests to eat a whole slice since they had different fillings (favorite flavors of the groom and the bride) and she said no. She took the cake to the kitchen and brought us 1/3 of the size that the slice should be and only with one filling flavor. We had to ask for a whole slice so we could take some pictures and when they gave us back what was “left” was less than 1/4 of the cake. There were only 9 of us and they brought us 1/3 of a slice each. I understand that maybe in the kitchen they want to try it but at least half a cake should have been left. I really didn’t like that!
Went to dinner with 2 other couples Service was good the food was ok nothing special Had better food at a pizzeria
I went there two times and both times were the waitress a nightmare! Not only were they very rude, the drinks were horrible! The place was empty and I couldn’t be sat down bcs they had reservations and they said I could only sit for an amount of time. Then the other time the drink was so bad I asked for another and the waitress was like, I asked you if you were sure. I’m like how am I supposed to know if I never had it before!! So rude! So I went to Insignia which was amazing and so pleasant! Great drinks too
Olive Garden 2.0 ! At twice the price! Spent $140 plus tip here for fake food. I swear that pizza is frozen like chucky cheese. I had the trio the chicken parm is pressed chicken from restaurant depot the lasagna smelled rancid inedible my wife’s face in pics after she smelled it. I go to Vincent’s clam bar Nassau county where everything even pasta is all made fresh right there even their sauce everyday consistent. No way these people think this is good Italian food. Branchinellis in miller place also great. My wife’s steak was the only thing real. The desserts were all out of a box pre bought and had plastic markings where they dropped it out of the casing. These reviews got me good. Sheeple.
Ordered a simple chicken parmigiana with pasta . The cheese was burnt and pasta was cut in half & soft like mush .Noisy & Dark inside.
We received a gift card from the manager about a year ago for an issue we had there at the time. We went to dinner there tonight and the gift card wouldn’t work. The server, who was wonderful, explained the problem to the manager. Before we knew it, a very rude man who said he was the owner came over & asked if he could help us. (He had already been told the issue). His manner & attitude were very insulting & dismissive. He said he couldn’t possibly remember from a year ago & he would be the only person to ever issue a gift card. We said we had no problem paying but we did receive the card from his restaurant. He walked away & we felt completely disrespected. We are in our 70’s & were celebrating our anniversary. We won’t be back. Too bad $100 was more important to him than keeping good customers.
We told our waiter that my husband had celiac disease and we were gluten free and they said they'd bring over some gluten-free bread, they brought over a basket of bread that little did we know was not gluten-free it was regular bread. My husband ate some and now he will be sick for months because of a really stupid miscommunication that could have been avoided if they had just asked. It didn't help that we had three different people bringing bread to us and not one of them asked if it was okay that it wasn't gluten-free. Why have an extensive gluten-free menu if you're just going to put regular bread at everyone's table without asking??? Never coming here again. I wish I could send you my husband's medical bills. Warning if you have celiac disease stay away from this place!!! My husband is going to be sick from months now because they didn't think to ask a question and care for their customers!!!!
Barely a step up from Olive Garden. Chicken was rubbery and tough to cut, forgot our appetizer and our server just left and went home halfway through our meal. Much better choices out there for Italian food. Shame on me for trying a new place on a recommendation. Never again
