I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the chicken fried steak. The food was excellent. .More pub food than bar food. Bartender was friendly and efficient. We picked this place to avoid the interstate and chain restaurants. Very happy with our choice. Friendly to out of state visitors, we are from Wisconsin.

Great little venue on the outskirts of New Braunfels. Patty Melt is The Bomb & we heard from friends that the wings are also good. Awesome Service from friendly bartenders! Only reason not 5 stars on atmosphere is because I wish the Venue was a larger space. Everyone, including patrons, were happy & friendly. We'll certainly make the trip from Smithville again & again!!

Happy Cow Bar & Grill is a pretty cool place to visit. Staff is friendly. Burgers and Fries were good. Beer (Corona Premier) was cold. We came early afternoon after shopping at Buc-ee's. Definitely would like to come out in the early evening next time.

Iconic Hill country pub. Great dive bar with a back music venue and bands on the weekends. The burgers are great and the beer is cold. Party selection of drinks and an amazing back patio. I love that this spot still has pool tables. Some might not like a smoking inside but there's plenty of space outdoors and there's often music playing. The service is good and the parking is easy. Don't be surprised to see some big pickup trucks outside on the gravel parking lot!

Cozy rural spot with a local crowd and multiple indoor TVs for watching sporting events. Also has a great outdoor live music venue with lighting and sound system. Food options also available.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch at 1 pm. There were only two people in the bar besides us. We ordered sliders and a Philly with rings and fries. We got our drinks and were told it would be 15 minutes because the fryer hadn't been turned on yet. We weren't in a big hurry, so we didn't mind waiting. Thirty minutes later, we were still waiting. We asked the server, and she said it was almost done. Our food came out about 5 minutes later. The sliders were top-notch some of the best burgers ever. They were simple yet so flavorful. What made them stand out was they were SEASONED! I didn't even add condiments they were seasoned so well. The philly was also very tasty. The fries were very good, but the rings were ok. If I had to choose between the two, the fries are hands down better. The food is very good. I'm not sure if the wait time is something normal or not as it was our first visit.

Last Tuesday I went there and I think I was charged more, unfortunately I didn't ask for my receipt, I was charged $38 for both the steak and a burger to go, the steak is supposed to be $16 on Tuesdays and the burger was $9.99.

Ok Food, Outside Seating, and Live Music. Every other week, they do a crawfish broil. They have outside picnic tables, a small stage for live music, and there is some green space. The big trees are great for shade. It's a very typical country dive bar setup with an expected selection of commercial beers. The food was ok but a bit overpriced. Chicken fingers cost 9 bucks and were the kind you buy frozen and just heat up. Even the appetizers, like fried pickles, were 8 bucks or more. Sadly, the crawfish was also only ok and they didn't have any butter. Everyone working there was nice but don't plan on the crawfish being ready till around 2pm (they told us 1pm originally). It's also not a great place to bring the kids, which makes sense because it primarily functions as a bar. Although there is green space to run around in, there's a lot of broken glass, a barb wire fence, and a lot of brush so it's not really safe for younger kids. Overall, it's a decent place for a bite but I don't think we will go back anytime soon.
