Fantastic service, cheerful and welcoming atmosphere and dog friendly! Which we noted for future reference. Genuinely had a warm welcome and a very relaxed and pleasant dining experience in the bar, but they have a separate restaurant area too. Nice large bar area with plenty of space, and a beer garden and parking. Food very tasty and excellent value. Pub quiz on a Thursday! Get yourself down to the House Martin!

A very nice lunch was eaten here. Brisket burger was amazing, chips perfectly cooked. All piping hot, served with a smile. Definitely recommend if your passing but also worth the trip on a day out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time going to the house martin, warm atmosphere and friendly welcome! Ash was absolutely wonderful and provided an outstanding service. The food was absolutely beautiful (Spiced chicken burger & side of onion rings 😋), lovely place to lunch with friends 🙂 will definitely be returning. Upon arriving we also noticed they do evening entertainment too, so we will be arranging a girly evening in the near future.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere in a beautifully presented pub. I had something from the menu and something from the specials board and both were delicious. Very warm and comfortable while being elegant and smart.

We booked a table for our anniversary meal. The food was excellent and served quickly. Particularly impressive as the place was very busy. Ryan did an excellent job looking after us and his cheerful and friendly attitude helped ensure we had a very pleasant evening. The ribeye steak was very tasty. The burger was one of the best I've had for a while. We look forward to returning and would certainly recommend.

Popped in for a pint as we were staying nearby. Good selection of drinks and nice atmosphere.

Been here for drinks a few times, bar service has always been really good with bar staff very friendly. We decided to come back for dinner as the menu looked really nice. The garlic bread with cheese was fantastic, they used two types of cheese which made it taste amazing! Would highly recommend the brisket burger too, just melted in your mouth and had a wonderful flavour! Would definitely visit here for food again in the future. Also the extension to the pub restaurant is really quirky with lots of bird cages hanging in between the rafters, that area had a really lovely atmosphere!

Saturday night dinner here - faultless! Everything was superb, service outstanding, quality of food and drink - all first class Dining area is very well laid out, tables not too close with very comfortable seating. Don't forget to look up, ceiling design is very unique Save some room for the desserts, well worth it - the chocolate orange tea cake & peanut butter cheesecake both 10/10

We visit the House Martin whenever we are in New Milton, it's a great pub and eating house. The staff are always helpful and accommodating to our disabled family members showing patience and respect. Access is easy and prices are very reasonable happy to recommend this pub.

Beautiful food. Beef brisket and the steak and kidney pie were tried by us and fully enjoyed. Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere and great food at good prices. What more could you ask for?

My husband and I were staying in a holiday park and found this pub during a walk. Popped in on a quiet Monday evening and immediately felt at home after being greeted by a lovely gentleman behind the bar. My husband and I and our Dog found a table and ordered our drinks and looked at the menu and decided that we would come back again for some food after speaking with the gentleman who kindly said that the kitchen was closing early, not a problem and after a few alcoholic beverages we headed back to our accommodation. We went back a few nights later and again greeted by the same gentleman who remembered us as he had kindly gave us information about which buses to get around to different places. Ordered some food and it was absolutely fantastic and well worth the money, both my husband and I had a desert each and a lovely member of staff came to clear our table and asked how our food was, told him it was absolutely amazing and to please let the chefs know we had really enjoyed it and he told us that the young men working in the kitchen would really appreciate the feedback. Went back again for drinks and booked for a Sunday roast and again it was fantastic, carvery with a good choice of meats and vegetables and the best roast potatoes I've ever eaten. Only sad that we are now back home but will definitely be going back whenever we are in the area. Amazing food, lovely staff and a lovely friendly atmosphere

Had lunch here today. Carvery available with good selection of unlimited veg etc, selection of alternative meals including gluten free. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable.

Super evening in the House Martin. Came with our dog and they were super welcoming and dog friendly, found us a quiet table for the pup to be able to relax. Also brought a treat for her with the bill too! 🐾🐾

We love this place. The food is good quality and really tasty, the beers and wines are good and the service is second to none!

The House Martin Team hosted a Celebration Of Life for a beloved family member, Michael. And they did it with compassion and kindness. Ashley was accommodating to the fact we didn't have exact numbers, and Jason the chef talked with us beforehand about the cakes he'd bake for us, to honour Mike's favourites. They were awesome and total crowd-pleasers. The space was full of light and the perfect environment for family and friends to mingle and reminisce. Better still, it didn't feel awkward that we laid on the cakes and cuppas, and everyone could go the bar and buy the hard stuff for themselves. Outside of such an event, our family has recently enjoyed yummy lunches: great food and drinks at an affordable price. Always with unassuming yet attentive service. Thank you to Ashley, Jason and the wider House Martin team for making a difficult day the best it could be.

anuary 2025 Just had a fabulous lunch with friends. Perfect ambience so warm.and inviting with gorgeous upholstered comfy sests! The staff were very friendly, in particular Ash who looked after us and genuinely wanted us to have an enjoyable time, he went above and beyond in his service. We had really tasty brisket and chicken burgers, loaded fries, best ever onion rings and toasted sandwiches. Everything was hot and perfectl! I saw that they have evenings with live entertainment and quiz nights, so I'm looking forward to visiting again in the near future. Would highly recommend this pub and my friends and i look forward to going back soon. Read less

Went on sunday early doors at 12pm for the sunday carvery. The gammon, turkey and beef were all cooked perfectly. A great selection of unlimited vegetables. I had a desert which was also lovely. My girlfriend loved it also. Its her favourite nplace for a roast.Great helpful staff. Thank you. We,ll be back very soon

Stopped off on the way back from Poole as it was recommended. Amazing, nice twists to regular mains/desserts and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely be back.

I visited the House Martin today for the first time for lunch. It was the best lunch I’ve had for a long time. Ashley and his team made us feel so welcome and made the experience even more special. The food was incredible and some of the nicest I’ve had in the area Can’t wait to come back

I have visited the House Martin twice in the last 6 weeks and have been extremely happy with every part of my visits. The atmosphere of the bar and restaurant is fantastic and extremely well-kept. On both occasions the food has been exceptional, though both times I was far too ambitious with the amount of food I felt able to eat. Today we were served by Ashley and Ollie who were friendly and warm, and gave excellent service. I understand the establishment is under new management, are a new team trying to find their feet, and are trying to put a negative reputation behind them. I thankfully didn't experience the previous management, but I can absolutely confirm this team is succeeding and I will be returning in future.

Turned up at the last minute at 20.00 after being let down at a new "Italian restaurant". First class food and drink,all expectations met and a waitress happy to please,well done.

I went to Christmas dinner today, 14th Jan. There were 41 local ladies dining. Ian, the boss, decorated all the tables, put the Xmas tree back up and put crackers on the table. The food was delicious and piping hot. He laid on teas and coffees on the house for everyone. Not one single complaint!!! Thank you to Ian and the crew at the Housemartin

I popped into the House Martin for a coffee and ended up having a small bite to eat too. The prawn cocktail was delicious, coffee made just the way I like it and the service was wonderful; friendly, cheerful and very kind staff too. I enquired as to whether they'd charged me enough for my coffee and he replied that that was the price. He said that they were actually lowering their prices to make it more affordable, which is why I had a look at the menu and ordered some food too. It's lovely to see an establishment bucking the trend and reducing prices. Quality of food and service is excellent AND you can pay by cash or card...a bonus. Would highly recommend ! 👌⭐⭐⭐

We have been twice now for the Sunday carvery and have not been disappointed. Lovely tender meats and plenty of veg choices. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A lovely experience for all the family, even the dog.

I’m almost reluctant to leave a review as I’d like to keep this amazing place a secret. But, it was so good the chef must know how amazing they are! For the second time, I had the chalk stream trout and squid tapas. I was nervous because I was so blown away with the trout last time, I thought it was going to be a one off but no, again it was fabulous! Without doubt the best food I’ve had in so long. We are limited in New Milton for decent food out. Everywhere is pub food that’s been microwaved and the same thing everywhere you go. We’ve been going to the Housemartin for a few years but recently it has gone up significantly to another level and whoever is cooking is worth their weight in gold. Thank you

Today we had my dad’s wake at the house Martin. It was the most beautiful, well organised family function. The food spread was gorgeous and the team did so well at hosting us all. A massive thank you to Ashley and the team today who made our day so special and the most special way to celebrate my dad’s life. I couldn’t recommend or thank the House Martin enough for having us. What an asset to have in our community. From all of us who gathered today, well done and thank you very much.

First trip out since Lockdown 2.0. The food was really delicious! It felt like Christmas having that Roast. 👌🏻 The Yorkshire’s are beaut and I love the Red Cabbage!! With the Turkey, Stuffing and Pig in Blanket, it was a winner. My husband loved his Burger and Triple Cooked Chips as well. And the Hoisin Chicken Wings were lush!! Thank you to all of the staff and our friend Brad Saunders for being superstars and making us feel welcome. The service is great! 🥰🥰

Our family visited prior to our granddaughters 18th Birthday. We all love a carvery so booked House Martin and told Ian we would be bring a cake and asked for it to be delivered to table after carvery. The carvery was delicious so much meat and fresh hot vegetables. They brought the cake out singing happy birthday to our granddaughter (she was embarrassed 😂) along with plates and a knife to cut cake. They went above expectations, friendly accommodating pub and restaurant

A lovely Sunday roast lunch for six of us. Meat was perfect and congratulations should go to whomever did the leeks in cheese sauce! Wine good, ambience good. We'll return (although I think they already know this after my 'duck' experience!) Thank you!

Attended here for a quick meal after a 3 hour drive to the South Coast from the Midlands and staying at a nearby holiday park. Staff were courteous and food very nice indeed. Just a hamburger but was delicious and well presented. Thank you. Pub was empty.

Food was nice, staff were really friendly and the service was good.

Very nice food, just disappointed to be told on arrival that we could only have the Sunday carvery if we'd pre-booked as they order in the right amount of meat. My (non-carvery) was lovely but frustrating, having come for the carvery, to have to wait half an hour and watch loads of carbery measures going by. Will def come back but remember to pre-book if coming on a Sunday!

Very pleasant hostelry clean and tidy. Good choice of food and drinks.

We were apprehensive after reading recent reviews, but we had a lovely meal in the restaurant area, which is also dog friendly (we brought ours). Very attentive staff, who regularly checked on us. We had 2 steak and ale pies, and 1 veggie pie, all polished off, followed by ice cream!

Didn’t eat here but stopped here on the way back from the New forest had a drink lovely atmosphere good little bit garden and front garden to sit out in the Sun friendly staff and plenty of parking

Family of five had dinner on a Tuesday evening. Atmosphere was chilled and the service was nice. Pint of Diet Coke costs £4.10. Ordered a fish and chips (£18) and genuinely thought they had delivered the kids menu. It was very small and a bit anaemic. Could count the chips on my plate without thinking too much (<10 fat chips). Portions are small for the prices paid. Everyone else thought their meals were fair at best. Drinks were expensive, but a good atmosphere with plenty of parking and dog friendly

The atmosphere was very nice. I loved the extension bit. They had love music. But the food was okay. Not good, not bad. Just okay.

A really nice pub with a beautifully decorated restaurant. Unfortunately the food was poor. The fish & chips was overcooked, both left in the fryer far too long. The homemade tartar sauce was very tasty. The Sea Bream was okay but the seasonal greens were under done and inedible. When the mains are just under £20 each, I expected it to be better. We mentioned the issues to the waitress who shrugged and said sorry but no solution. I preferred it when it was Hall & Woodhouse.

Just moved to the area thought we would try the House Martin for dinner. We Ordered our meals. Unfortunately one of our meals wasn’t edible the meat was tough. The sauce was sloppy and had, no consistency nobody came to check on us during the time we were there, only when the food server came to clear the plates from the table. I mentioned that one of the meals wasn’t right, she apologised and whisked the plates away. I then asked for the bill, on returning with our bill the food server informed me, there was no charge for retuned meal. No manager or senior member of staff came over to see us. I Also witnessed tables being wiped down and relaid with cutlery that wasn’t used from the previous guests. Really disappointing evening.
