We arrived pretty much at closing time and the owner was so nice. Waited on us. The place is called AJ's Burgers but it is really about an Italian-American's dream of hospitality. We have rarely been treated so well at any restaurant, the clams with sausage and linguine were just to die for, the salad which the owner made to order just so lovingly perfect. A go-to from now on. One of the best restaurants we have ever visited.

Tonight was my first time actually going INSIDE of the restaurant (usually order on food delivery apps) and i was met by the nicest people who offered me drinks while i waited and even gave me fries on the house which may not be much but their hospitality was amazing. the burger was just how i like my burgers. 10/10 recommend!

Oh my gentle Jesus the ribs. So freaking good. The staff are friendly and the food has been on point every time I've ordered. The market fresh veggies have been a nice healthy side that makes me feel better about gorging on their burgers. The Brownies and Hot sugar rolls are a great ending to the meal. Pro-tip: If you get the fries/sweet potato fries to go, throw them in the oven 425 for 10 minutes to dry them out.

I have to say this place is a true GEM in New Rochelle/ Westchester County The owner of the restaurant greeted us and checked to make sure we were enjoying our meals and even made the kids laugh with his goofy sweater and beard. Everyone had a great experience. At our table we ate Chicken parm , ravioli bolognese, lemon pasta , clams with sausage and the salmon Children ate chicken fingers , mac and cheese, Philly cheesesteak sandwich Dessert - brownie canoli cup, rice pudding and chocolate mousse. The food was so good I wish I had pictures, I really enjoyed my experience! The habanero cheddar burger was delicious and the sweet potato fries were crisp on the outside and soft and yummy inside. The server, who was amazing!! Offered the pumpkin Sam Adam’s with a cinnamon rim and my mind was blown! Drove 45 minutes to try this place and it was worth every minute in traffic. Also the cannoli was freshly stuffed, fresh and soooooo worth it! Must go

They were huge and delicious. One sandwich can be split with two people or saved for the next day like we did. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich and my husband got the meatball. Definitely in the 3 sandwiches I've had. Update on the update 11/24 This place gets better and better. The owner is humble and so friendly. Everything I've tried is delicious.

This place rocks! We've ordered the Cuban burger many times; I always get it without the sauce and end-up putting mustard on it. It's so good. Service has always been good. The servers are always attentive and well mannered. I'm not a garlic person at all, but my buddies really dig the garlic rolls. We've had the sliders too and they're really good. One of our buddies had the bacon, mac n cheese burger. He loved it. That's just too much for me. The pastrami is delicious! It's also very lean! We always try to hit-up AJ's when in the area.

Decided to purchase the chicken dinner for 4 and added on 2 Apps, salad, and 3 dessert. More than enough food and absolutely delicious. Especially the baked clams which were just like I had in the summer on city island! Came with homemade bread as well! Fed my family of 4 with enough for tomorrow. So flavorful!!!

I can't say just how much I recommend you come to AJs Burgers on North Ave. Those of you who remember the Wedge Inn located just before the Bronx/ Pelham Manor border on the left side. But I soon was told by AJ that he worked at the Wedge because I couldn't never forget the home made bread. And the meatballs... Are home made from scratch and taste as delicious as my gramothers and my mother's. Don't get to go often but when I want meatballs or chili AJs is where I am going.... AJ is a great guy staff is always pleasant and attentive.. thank you for bringing me back to the 80s and 90s again!

This was a nice place to visit. There is a parking just across the street from the restaurant and it is free after 6 pm. The personnel is super nice and fast. It is Friday and it's raining, so we didn't have to wait a minute to be seat. They do not take reservations or American Express ( in case you need to know). I liked the environment and the food very much. No the cheapest place to go, just a good one.

I ate last night at AJ’s for the first time. We were met by a courteous staff and seated right away. Our waitress Rachel was friendly, informative and professional. She took our order right away. Our drinks and food came right away too. The food was EXCELLENT. The prices are beyond fair. The place is clean and the decor is great. The entire staff was friendly and the owner even stopped by our table to see how we were doing. He was a really down to earth and genuinely a great guy. I highly recommend this place. I didn’t go to college in the area but if I did I would make this my regular place to eat, especially after a night out. I mention this because I know there are a couple of schools in the area. I give reviews for places that deserve it. This place deserves your business and I am certain you will have the same experience I did. Joe

Absolutely amazing service. The waiting staff and manager were so hospitable, welcoming, and attentive. The food was stunningly good. The burger was easily 10/10 and while I’m not a huge fish and chip person, the dessert (mousse) was so fluffy and tasty. Fantastic food.

AJ’s is a wonderful place! The food is always fresh and delicious, with a rotating menu of specials that have been equally tasty. The owner (AJ) is a kind guy who will make it a point to stop by, say hi, and get to know you whether it’s your first time or your 50th. You also can’t beat the disco hits playing in the background. This is such a solid local staple.

We were traveling on I95 and needed a burger. This was 3 minutes off I95. Hubby had burger and fries, I had meatball parmigiana hero. Everything was delicious. Burger was tasty and perfect medium rare, steak fries are a step above. Meatballs were very good, on fresh baked focaccia, and even the mozzarella cheese was top notch. Service is friendly and homey. Too bad we live so far away.

Perfect for dinner on a long drive home to NYC. The food was flavorful, comforting, and served in generous portions! Good value, good ambiance, felt very relaxed and taken care of. Loved the fresh homemade rolls. The chicken parm was excellent. Classic Italian American food and probably a great burger too (although we didn’t try that).

Chicken sandwich was really good. Perfectly constructed so that toppings aren't falling off when you take a bite. The sauce soaks into the bread without soaking through it. So good. The service was wonderful, thoughtful, prompt, and very friendly. We're looking forward to going back!

Aj's Burger has a diverse menu that goes beyond the fantastic burgers. They offer a wide range of other great items that are more than worth trying. If you happen to stop by, I highly recommend trying the delicious rib eye cheese steak sandwich, and don't forget to treat yourself to a milkshake too. The owner and staff treat customers like family, making it an excellent place to visit.

Everything from shrimp bisque to chicken panko club to chocolate ice cream was top notch. It seems odd, seeing burgers on the same menu as Italian dishes and bbq. Still, if what we ate is any indication, it's all stellar. We'll be back. You should go. Neighborhoods need more quality restaurants like AJ's.

Locally owned place with a great menu. My chicken sandwich was excellent and the fires were perfect. Local beers on tap and coors light cans made a nice selection. It was a Friday night at around 8 and it was packed with a line. Not too many tables so be ready to wait. Staff was so nice and really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. This place is great. Check it out.

Have dined in AJ's many times. Ordered takeout today (#1 Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Parm, and Chipotle Sauce Burger, to name a few greats). Wanted to try the ribs and the wings. Both were outstanding. The wings are as good as any in Westchester, and the ribs can challenge any barbacue-centric eateries as well. Meaty (half-rack is PLENTY) great rub and outstanding sauce on the side. When I got home, I noticed my black and white milkshake was not included. So I checked the bill and saw that it was charged and phoned the restaurant and asked them for a credit. Seeing the size of the ribs and the wings I really thought the idea of fitting in a thick black and white milkshake, which I have had from AJ's in the past and it is excellent, wasn't necessary. They asked if someone could bring it to me, and I said it wasn't necessary as I am about 4 miles away. Just asked for the credit, which they agreed to provide. Moments later, my phone rang, and it was the owner AJ. He really wanted to have someone bring me my milkshake, and so I didn't want to deny his devotion to service and agreed. Not only did someone show up within 10 minutes with my milkshake, but two FREE brownies were thrown in on the house, and they were EXCELLENT. It's just a rare experience today to feel so satisfied with a decision to patronize a business. I'm looking forward to my next meal there.

I crave and travel for their chicken, broccoli rabe, cherry peppers and provolone (dripping with au jus) sandwich. It is ginormous and it out-of-this-world, juicy and delicious. I never make it further than my car before the smell intoxicates my senses and I dig in.

This place was great! Found on Google on the way home to Boston from a wknd in NYC. We were craving burgers and the food at this place did not disappoint. We got wings, burgers, chili and baked stuffed clams. Everything was delicious, especially the red Sangria! Definitely would stop again on our way in or out of NYC!

Burguers are delicious and excellent service

Hiiighly recommend the burgers. My bf got the spicy honey chicken sandwich and loved it. The ambiance was chill and the manager made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even had the kitchen make us standard fries although they weren’t on the menu. Really enjoyed this dinner all around! The caesar was extremely light so I’d recommend adding a protein if it’s your main meal. Oh and the chipotle mayo was bomb.

We were looking for a new place for lunch and happened upon AJ’s. The atmosphere was very casual and welcoming. While the menu is extremely varied, something to satisfy everyone’s preferences, we settled on the Brie Burgers. Roll up your sleeves and dig in. The best burgers we’ve ever had. I suggest previewing the menu beforehand as the selections run from simple and standard to WOW. We were planning the menu for our return trip before we actually left.

My friend and I come here all the time for lunch. The service is amazing and the soups and salads delicious. The owner is always attentive and makes sure his customers are happy when they leave. We highly recommend AJ’s.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. The food is amazing and the staff are always super nice and attentive. The burgers are fantastic and if I had to recommend one it would have to be the vodka burger. I can’t recommend this place enough. Yesterday we stopped by AJs after trying to ddecide where to go in a snow storm. I'm very indecisive, however, I'm truly glad my boyfriend picked this spot. It is a true hidden gem. When we first walked in the owner joked with us. He made us feel really welcome. All of the staff were friendly and amazing. The food was outrageous. I decided on the blueberry, bacon brie burger. It was to die for. I also loved how they serve the food in pans. It's different. I can't wait to go back and try the pasta next time. I suggest everyone to make a stop there. You will not regret it. What a great first time experience at AJ Berger’s what a hidden gem! Food was outrageous we had Cheese raviolis with homemade vodka sauce, the best I ever had, from Bugatti ie Arthur Avenue amazing! The young man that served us was incredibly sweet, attentive and professional! The owner even came over to us and acknowledged us and went above and beyond to make our dining experience top notch! he also recommended the most amazing desserts and homemade ice cream to die for, the Cannoli’s were so fresh so delicious! This was our first time coming to AJ’s Burgers, and it was truly beyond our expectations. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. AJ’s Burgers in New Rochelle is the definition of next-level comfort food. The owner cooked for me personally, and every single dish was made from scratch with care, passion, and serious skill. The Club Burger was insane—made with a blend of chuck, brisket, navel, and short rib. Topped with homemade chipotle sauce, fresh lettuce, tomato, factory pickles (not those soggy jar ones), and cheese, all packed into one juicy, flavorful bite. On the side? Potato wedges that are first baked, then fried—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The buffalo wings were cooked with precision—baked first, then fried, and tossed in a bubbling pan of red hot sauce over a flame, with butter added at the end for that smooth finish. Paired with house-made blue cheese that was thick, rich, and anything but watery. But the real showstopper was the chicken parm. Served with linguine made using imported Italian pasta and cooked with the mending technique (adding marinara to the boiling water), this dish was hands down the best chicken parm I’ve ever had. Finally, dessert. The cannoli was stuffed fresh with ricotta and topped with dark chocolate nibblets. AJ uses Artuso cannoli shells, and Artuso himself taught him how to stuff them right. You can taste that legacy. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. AJ puts heart into everything, and it shows. If you’re anywhere near New Rochelle, run, don’t walk.

What an awesome family owned restaurant! Very friendly and helpful. Food was very yummy. The pulled pork nachos was tasty, crispy and came with extras on the side to pump it up. The sauce on the pasta was delicious. Highly recommend the wedge fries. It was super crispy and goes well with their home made sauces. Portions are large with lots of leftovers.

The beer is excellent, and the wings were perfectly crispy with flavorful sauce, complemented by delicious blue cheese. The dessert options are fantastic, offering a wide variety to choose from. The menu provides a great selection of food, and everything tastes fresh. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was impeccable. It’s no surprise they’re Zagat-rated! my boyfriend and i had the best experience here yesterday! we were looking for somewhere to eat after dropping my parents off at the airport and came across this gem! we had the best and most friendly waitress, who explained in detail the history of the restaurant, & ingredients of their burgers. we had the garlic rolls for our app - they were so good! when our food came out, the waitress brought out the wedge cut fries as well was the normal thin cut ones we ordered, so we could try them because she said they were the best! i also had a regular cheese pizza with light sauce - so so amazing! my boyfriend had a burger which he said was soooo good! which was so nice of her. for dessert i got a vanilla milkshake to go - one of the best milkshakes ive had like ever! was so yummy. our waitress even brought out a brownie when the check came too! the whole experience was amazing and the food being so good was the cherry on top. even though this restaurant is an hour away from us - we will def be back because it was so good!

Walked in sat down. No paper menus. You can scan a qr code or they hand you a tablet I was just saying how long its been since i had a good burger. Did a search on burgers in New Rochelle. Found this place. Parked on the next block. AJ came by explained the burgers. Really really friendly. Waitress came by with bread and garlic bread, SOOOO GOOD. Waited about 10 minute for the food. Service was good. Chilli was delicious. The 5 pepper sauce IS A MUST. The burgers was SERIOUSLY good. So much flavor and a great grilled taste. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They need to bottle this 5 Pepper sauce I will DEFINITELY be back

An excellent eatery in New Rochelle WITH a backyard! The staff were super friendly and the overall service was 👍👌 . We were a group of 10 and, since we called ahead, they were able to set up the outdoor seating for us. As for the food, everything was delicious and so was the music. I'll definitely return.

Delicious and generous food with warm and friendly staff. We had Garlic Truffle Fries, an amazing burger and AJ's #1 Chicken and all were out of this world. We were offered delicious Garlic rolls... Highly recommended!

The food is incredible and we definitely would like to go back. The only thing is the owner kept trying to be funny and tell my husband that he saw me with another man there a few days ago and laughing about it which made us really uncomfortable because it wasn't true and pretty inappropriate to make jokes like that to people you don't know especially when we didn't laugh once and were pretty confused about what was happening. They also have a QR menu to order from and told us we could either order online or with the waiter. We used the QR code the waiter kept coming over a few times to ask if we're ready to order after we told him that we already ordered online since they told us we could do either or. Over all great food but they don't really know how to run a business.

Very solid burger with super friendly service in a kid friendly atmosphere. Loved the potato wedges and the Dominican burger.

Nice size, good for groups. Good Service quick with plenty of refills. I had the lunch time chicken sandwich. It was good very good and juicy. Plus, it's easy to find it's on North Ave right across from the New Rochelle City Clerk Office.

Very lovely place. The older man is very nice and attentive. The waitress is so cheerful. Overall great environment. But the food was so bland. I had burgers wings loaded fries cole slaw chili cheese dog. It was all missing salt or some seasoning even the bacon on my loaded fries didn’t even taste like bacon. I cannot recommend it as of know due to the food taste. I try it again later down the line to see how it goes, hopefully this was just a one time mistake.

The first two times I ate at AJ'S, I was very impressed! The server made playdough for my grandson to keep him entertained while we waited for our burgers, which were delicious! The next time, I had a kale Cesare salad that was scrumptious 😋. Unfortunately, on our third visit, we were disappointed. As soon as we sat down, we were asked what we wanted to drink. We hadn't even scanned the menu yet! There were two servers. Maybe one was in training. We didn't get the water we asked for twice. My kale salad was not the delicious one I expected. My daughter wanted butter for the bread. It was finally brought to us. Too bad it was cold, and by now, so was the bread. My daughter's burger was good. My grandson's pizza was mostly sauce and not much cheese. Anyway, if we come again, we know to stick to the burgers 🍔.

The burgers are tasty, you get a lot of meat. Maybe a little too much for the bun size. It’s a bit pricey. I got a burger with cheese, lettuce and carmelized onions with fries for about $21.16 with taxes. The menu also has creative combinations/toppings of burgers and sandwiches. I plan on returning to try something else off the menu.
