Amazing food, atmosphere and service. Diana served us and it was amazing, super friendly and really knows the menu. Explained us with a lot of details about every single dish, and made sure we had a perfect experience. My girlfriend and I ate here two days in a row, and would definitely recommend here. It is as good as the Netflix episode says. Great food.

Really loved this ramen spot! The appetizers were a hit — the bao buns and eggplant dish were packed with flavor. But the real stars were the ramen bowls: the chicken paitan and tonkatsu were incredibly rich, comforting, and full of depth. So satisfying from start to finish. Already thinking about coming back for more.

Ivan is a true mensch! My family was visiting NYC for the weekend and dining at his establishment was a high priority for us. I expected a perfect bowl of ramen and the food exceeded my expectations. What I didn’t expect was to see him there and get to speak with him. When I walked in and saw him with his wife I was thrilled to get to meet such an incredible human being. I had seen him on Chef’s Table like so many others and his story is inspiring. Getting to speak with him furthered my appreciation for the man. He’s the full package. A wonderful cook who is passionate about his craft, a philosopher, father, husband and all around mensch. What I gather is that his food is about bringing joy to people. The world is a better place with someone like Ivan. What an experience an unforgettable experience. Thank you Ivan!

Tonight we had dinner at Ivan Ramen, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The place isn’t particularly fancy or cozy, but it has a warm and friendly vibe. The layout is narrow and long, which gives it a bit of a New York charm. The decor is simple yet pleasant—nothing extravagant, but tastefully done. The staff were welcoming and made the atmosphere even more comfortable. We started with the eggplant appetizer, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The ramen was outstanding — rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and balanced toppings that really stood out. Every bite felt thoughtfully made and satisfying. Even though the space isn’t large or luxurious, the food easily makes up for it. We’ll definitely be coming back soon for another bowl.

I was pretty excited to go there because of interesting story of Ivan, but was a bit sceptical at the same time if the place live up to its hype. We tried three starters and five different bowls of ramen. Starters were all fantastic! Very interesting taste and textures, especially cucumber and cauliflower. All ramens were great, but two that blew me away were chicken paitan and tonkotsu. It was a great culinary experience and I would do that again!

Perfect lunch experience, incredible food incredible service. Booked here for my 30th birthday, flying in from Copenhagen for the occasion. Had the excitement since seeing Ivan’s passion for ramen on the Netflix show, and he got me into and opened my eyes on home cooking ramen. Did not disappoint one bit. Service from Jose was immaculate, attentive friendly but not pushy at all. Food was incredible, such rich depth to the chicken paitan. Would come back again to try the triple pork triple garlic, if/when we’re ever in the country again. Crispy eggplant and chicken karaage starters just perfect. If anything a little large, but who’s complaining about more food?? 10/10 experience. Ps. Chicken paitan so good forgot to take a photo before polishing it off

As a fusion ramen (if you’re not asking for something traditional) this is a very good sample of New York style Ramen. Good basic skills, excellent seasoning, great layering of flavor, side dishes are also amazing.

I can only eat chicken broth-based ramen and their tori paitan is one of the best I could find in the city!! They also topped it with some crunchy chicken skin. We also had sesame noodle with roasted tomato add-on, it was lil spicy, but so good! Also, this place was on Netflix’s Chef’s Table Season 3, years ago. The place is still popular, we came on Friday night and it was packed. Might be better to reserve.

Ivan Ramen is a must-visit spot in NYC—whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, there are options for everyone. The atmosphere is stylish and lively, with great music that sets the tone. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure your experience is tailored to your preferences. The food is outstanding—rich, flavorful, and setting a whole new standard for ramen. From now on, whenever I crave truly good ramen, Ivan Ramen is my go-to.

Incredible as always! Wish they’d keep the daikon on the menu but the eggplant, triple pork triple garlic, and chicken paitan are perfect every time!

Ivan Ramen delivers a bold and unforgettable dining experience that perfectly blends Japanese tradition with New York creativity. From the deeply flavorful Triple Pork Triple Garlic Mazemen to the lighter yet satisfying Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, every dish is crafted with precision, personality, and top-tier ingredients. The noodles are springy and fresh, the broths rich and layered, and the small plates, like the tofu caviar and fried chicken buns, offer playful, delicious surprises. The vibrant, casual atmosphere and genuinely enthusiastic staff create a welcoming vibe that makes the meal even more enjoyable. While it's a bit of a splurge, the quality and inventiveness more than justify the price. Ivan Ramen isn’t just a good ramen shop, it’s a must-visit culinary destination in NYC.

The ramen is simply amazing. We also had the potato salad (topped with smoked trout roe) and miso ceasar...so good! The service was very friendly. The place is packed work tables in a somewhat dark cozy space but clean and comfortable. The vibe here was vibrant.. music a little loud but we could talk

The best ramen I've ever had and I've been to Japan. Get the Tokyo Shio and ascend to another plane where there's world peace, love has conquered all, and God is a chicken. That's a very silly way of saying that the soup was so layered and complex, deeply chicken forward in flavor--and it's seemingly just salt, good dashi and stock! The eggplant appetizer is another standout, but honestly everything is good here. We came to NY on vacation and we liked it so much we came back twice.

D
Darren Spencer

We flew in from Sydney Australia and came straight to Ivan Ramen! We came for the ramen of course... but the appertizers were outstanding too!! We had karaage chicken which was perfectly crispy and still juicy soft chicken pieces, the schwarma gyoza were banging!!! Just brilliant. And the ramen is one of the best ramens I've ever been lucky enough to have! You won't be disappointed by a visit here at all. Bitterly cold NY night and the joint was packed so best to book. Staff were super friendly and welcoming too.

We were surprised to see the place packed on a weekday noon. We understood why it was so full when we tasted the great appetizers. We had a tonkatsu pork buns, and crispy Nasu (fried Japanese eggplant in tahini sauce). Both were excellent. Than we ordered the Shoyu shrimp wontonmen, and the chicken paitan. Both Ramen were great. We highly recommended this small great restaurant.

J

Maybe best ramen I’ve had. Spicy miso was so complex and flavorful. Just the right amount of fixings in it. Breaded chicken and Caesar salad and miso cheesecake were all divine. It was small and packed inside. Service was quick and friendly.

Absolutely amazing ramen—so rich, flavorful, and incredibly tasty. I went here for a Christmas event, and we were seated in the back with a group of about 16 people. Having our own enclosed section was really nice and made the experience feel more intimate and comfortable. The ramen was outstanding, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. I will definitely be returning.

Shaby neighborhood, low key restaurant. Lots of locals. Fabulous food and atmosphere.

J

Small spot to sit down and have a nice hot bowl of ramen. The place was crowded, but we were seated almost immediately. The soy garlic chicken is delicious, the ramen was warm and tasty, but the star of the meal ended up being the ube pudding for dessert. Would absolutely return for a bowl of ramen when in the mood for ramen, but would for sure make a detour just for the pudding.

My recent lunch at Ivan Ramen was nothing short of extraordinary—probably the best ramen of my life! We arrived during lunch hours and were pleased to find it wasn't overcrowded, allowing for a relaxed dining atmosphere. The staff greeted us warmly and took time to explain their signature dishes, demonstrating both knowledge and passion for their menu. We started by sharing a pork bao which was absolutely succulent—tender, flavorful, and the perfect appetizer to set the stage for what came next. For our main course, we ordered two different ramens: one with chicken broth and one with pork. The chicken ramen was the standout star—just too good! Every spoonful revealed complex flavors that had clearly been developed with care and expertise. The pork ramen was also excellent, showcasing the versatility of the kitchen. The restaurant's thoughtful approach to traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative touches makes it a must-visit destination. We've already marked it on our map, and on our next trip to NYC, we will definitely be stopping there again! If you're a ramen enthusiast or simply looking for an exceptional dining experience in New York, Ivan Ramen should be at the top of your list.

(Last visited June 4, 2023.) Hanging out in NYC with some friends and we were on the lower east side this time. We were walking down the street and the incredible umami smell of ramen wafted our noses so we decided on Ivan Ramen! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place may look a little small, but there's a lot of space in here in separate compartments. It was SUPER busy so we did have to wait a little bit, but it wasn't too bad. It was nice outside so we actually went IN to the restaurant then out like, a side door to another outdoor section that was so beautifully setup. It was quieter outside (naturally) and just felt nice to eat outdoors, but not be sitting right next to the street. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but I don't remember having any issues at all. Food: We started off with their Wagyu Pastrami Buns which is a concoction of house-made pastrami, sauerkraut and japanese-russian dressing. These were delightful! Rich, meaty, creamy and a lil' crunchy due to the sauerkraut. Well-executed. We then tried Ivan's Karaage which is crispy fried chicken, lemon, and choice of sauce: yuzu-kosho mayo, black garlic honey, shiso buttermilk, or yuzu-chili sauce. Of course we went with the yuzu-kosho and this too was delightful! Crispy, crunchy, tender chicken that was rich in flavor! For my ramen/bowl entree I decided on the Triple Pork Triple Garlic which is a less soup-y style of ramen made with a tonkotsu broth, shoyu-braised pork chashu in two ways. My goodness this was off the chain! Hot, tender pork, rich, salty broth and excellent balance with textures. Well-done. Value: It's New York City. I mean, you know the deal. Each of our appetizers were $14.00 and my ramen was $20.00. Not bad at all to be completely honest. That's extremely reasonable and worth every penny! In conclusion, I'd absolutely pull up here again and get these exact things! Of course I'd love to try some other menu items as well! Check this place out if you can get a seat!

I'm lucky enough to have had a lot of good ramen in NY/NJ but I've never had ramen make me feel a little high - ironically I'm headed to a cannabis con after this meal but I swear I didn't smoke first, the ramen was just that good. I'd travel 2 hours just for this meal.

After watching Chef Ivan Orkin’s Chef’s Table episode in 2017, I knew I had to try Ivan Ramen—and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is a trendy, welcoming, and casual spot with incredible service. Our waiter was knowledgeable and guided us through one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Since eating here, I haven't had ramen that even comes close to his. This is a must stop spot in NYC!

I've been trying to get my girlfriend into Ramen for several years Ivan Ramen was by far one of the best experiences we had dining out the waiter Jam was extremely helpful helping us decide on what to get originally we were just going to split a bowl but we loved it so much that we ordered a second bowl it's going to be by far one of our go to spots whenever we visit New York City we also watched the Netflix show volume 3 episode 4 and we absolutely loved Ivans character!

Ivan Ramen offers a refreshing take on a classic dish. The noodles were firm with a unique flavor, likely from a different flour blend, and stood out from any ramen I’ve had before. The broth also had a creative twist that felt light and clean without losing depth. I had the spicy miso and i think there is mala in there.. the different spice profile is well balanced. It’s a great example of how you can deviate from tradition and still deliver something just as satisfying as the original. Service is good - the staff is very attentive. Restaurant lighting is a little too dim imo.

Definitely the best ramen of my life! So good, the perfect temperature and size. Also recommend the guioza as the appetizer and an IPA to drink.

I stopped by Ivan Ramen last month as it was close to where I was staying in the LES. It did not disappoint. The space is small, but cozy and relaxed, and the servers were excellent and very attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, which was very rich and flavorful. We also had the potato salad and pork buns which were both very good. Everything tastes fresh, portions are generous and the presentation is really nice. For dessert, I highly recommend the ube pudding, it’s definitely one of the best ube desserts I’ve had. If you’re in the Lower East Side and craving ramen, this is definitely a place worth stopping by.

Been wanting to check out this place for years and it was truly exceptional! I enjoyed every drop of the chicken Paitan broth, extra crispy chicken karaage, and the gyoza. Not to mention a kind and professional service from the waitress (we were a party of three sitting in the corner table by the window in the back right at noon on 2/22/26). Thank you!

Hands down some of the most fantastic ramen I've eaten. Having visited Japan multiple times, I can confidently say this place is authentic and top-tier. If you appreciate high-quality ramen, you have to eat here. You absolutely have to try the Tonkotsu. A must-visit!

Amazing ramen - perfect tooth feel / mouthfeel. I love the tonkatsu ramen - it's got a really savory, rich broth - perfect for a winter warm up. Had the special pastrami bao to start and it was fantastic. I'm partial to their pickles - kinda spicy, quite delightful. Cider list is pretty good, too - enjoyed the Fuschof. No wait for lunch many weekdays, staff is friendly, music selection enjoyable. They have a nice patio out back. One of my favorite Ramen spots in NYC.

Omg the spiciest ramen you could get, and we loved it. Went for the spicy vegetarian ramen and trust me it’s actually spicy 🌶️. My wife handles spice very well even she couldn’t finish it. Overall real nice flavor, I can go again just for it. The service was quick and very friendly.

A MUST stop if you are in NYC. We were recommended Ivan and decided to ditch other recs and go here straight! The gyoza and karage were out of this world! Chicken paitan ramen was a warm hug in a bowl in this cold especially! Our server was amazing and friendly. A perfect lunch.

I finally made it to Ivan Ramen, and it completely delivered. The food was precise, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with each dish bringing something different and delicious. We started with the Yuzu Lemonade. It was bright, refreshing, and not too sweet. It paired really well with everything that came next. The Tonkatsu Pork Bun was excellent. The steamed bun was light and fluffy, wrapped around a crispy fried pork cutlet with plenty of shredded cabbage, bulldog sauce, and garlic Kewpie mayo. Simple but executed perfectly. It disappeared quickly. The Schmaltz-Fried Gyoza was so good. The housemade chicken gyoza had an incredible crispy texture from being fried in schmaltz, with almond taberu rayu and crispy chicken skin adding extra layers of flavor. We didn’t even realize there was dipping sauce for them at first because they were that flavorful on their own. They vanished in no time. The Spicy Miso Ramen was the star of the meal. The broth was deep and rich, with a heat that built gradually instead of hitting too hard right away. The rye noodles had great chew, the soft-boiled egg was cooked perfectly, and the fresh herbs, scallions, bean sprouts, and huge pile of raw garlic on top added brightness and punch to the hearty bowl. It’s one of the most balanced spicy miso ramens I’ve had, with serious umami that kept me going back for more. Service was friendly, the pace felt relaxed, and the casual counter seating kept the focus on the food. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for satisfying, well-executed ramen that feels thoughtful without being heavy or gimmicky. A true five-star experience.

This is my third or fourth time here. It’s always a great time, no matter the time of day or week. I came for lunch today and tried their new spicy veggie miso ramen and it’s honestly some of THE BEST ramen I’ve had in the area and city. As a noodle lover I’m always pleased when a place continues to elevate their menu.

One of the BEST ramen I've ever tried! Before you come at me, I'm referring to a fully vegetarian/vegan ramen - it's hard to come across a delicious, hearty, packed with flavor broth (unless you go straight to the motherland). We came here with a group of friends (shout out to our friend for bringing us here) and we sat in the quieter area to the back with the bench chairs. Loved this little room it's perfect for a cozy night with friends and definitely a lot quieter than the regular room. Of course, this place is pretty small to begin with but attention to detail, service and food flavors is what it's all about. We started things off with the spicy kyuri pickles which were absolutely delicious. The rice vinegar is what gave it that perfect amount of punch without making you feel like you were eating salt and vinegar chips (which I LOVE). Spice level wasn't too spicy for me but it does have a kick. Me and my husband ordered different ramens so we could try the different flavors and I'm SO glad we did. The veggie spicy miso red chili is what stole my heart and lives rent free in my taste buds (they too have a memory hehe). I think that dish was perfectly balanced without being overpowering or too spicy. The biggest amount of spice does sit at the bottom of the bowl and as I was siping my last bits of broth away that's when I noticed my pleasant little wake up call - which again for me it wasn't that spicy since I have a pretty high tolerance. IT WAS SO SO SO SO SO DELICOUS! Hubby's ramen was out of this world in its own way. He ordered the truffled vegan shoyu and WOW. It was one of those broths that can stand alone and make your taste buds dance and go crazy. It was absolutely incredible and one slurp lead to the next. Both of the ramen dishes were incredible - I personally don't eat eggs but even the eggs were beautiful. Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back. It's definitely a great spot during the winter to warm you up. Bowls are pretty generous and if you're hungry enough you'll eat it all. If you want to leave some room for dessert or grab something else in the area, then you're good to go if you share one. My greedy self would never at this spot but hey, you do you :) One last thing, LOVED that everyone can pay for their own thing at your tables bill using the QR code to split and pay what you want. That way you don't have to awkwardly make your server do it for you and try to figure it all out while that one lemonade someone forgot to pay for etc haha. Super cool feature!

I had one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC at Ivan Ramen. Every dish was a standout. The small plates were perfectly balanced — the potato salad with roe was creamy, savory, and unexpectedly addictive. The ramen itself was spectacular: rich broth, vibrant flavors, perfectly cooked noodles, and the soft-boiled egg was unreal. You can tell every component is made with intention. From start to finish, everything was fantastic.

I first stumbled upon Ivan Ramen three years ago when I lived in the neighborhood, not realizing at the time that it would become my favorite ramen spot in the city. I’ve probably visited every ramen place in New York by now and this one is still hands down the best. I often come back for my go to bowl - Tokyo Shio. It's just that good. The service is always warm and welcoming and the food is consistently excellent. For any ramen lover this place is definitely a must visit.

Delicious spot for ramen and unreal bao. We booked a reservation for the same day but were about to sit at the bar. LOVED the spicy ramen, it’s definitely feeling. They had some popcorn chicken which was great as well as the pork bao… do not sleep on it. I’d pass on the dessert or share it as it’s massive.

Amazing ramen! Had the spicy miso one. Very rich broth and the spice blend to the point with a divine garlic touch. Yet it was more of a Mala noodles to me. Noodles were perfectly cooked (a bit thin for my taste tho). Will come again for the tonkotsu.

Ivan Ramen (yes, the Chef’s Table legend!) did not disappoint, chicken broth has been simmered for 8 hours, smooth yet silky, soft-boiled egg stirred in for that velvety touch, noodles with a perfect chewy bite. Crispy chicken skin + scallions on top = flavor bomb . And I loved those roasted tomatoes! Skin crackly, tangy-sweet and refreshing—such a genius twist! Will definitely return.

DELICIOUS!! My friend is a regular and brought me here the chicken paitan was so good that even a week later I remember the taste of the dish. The tuna appetizer and potato salad were good, but the highlight is definitely the ramen. Came in around 8:30pm on a Thursday and sat down immediately.

Incredible food. The guys were also really helpful when my friend had certain allergy requirements. Ask for them to suggest the must haves. I loved the signature chicken ramen with noodles. We also had the pastrami buns and eggplant. So so so good.

Spectacular all around! Everything we tried was delicious. The seaweed kimchi was phenomenal, the ramen - out of this world (every single spoonful and every bite was divine), very interesting n/a drinks and the smoothest cheesecake. Very nice staff. We got there at around 3:45 p.m., and it was nearly empty. Food was served very quickly, and it's very convenient that you can pay through the QR code on your table. We were also really surprised by how low the prices were compared to the quality they offer! If we lived closer, I would eat there every day! Can't wait to go back!

Been wanting to try this restaurant and it was AMAZING! Very welcoming, friendly, casual yet professional/knowledgeable staff. Super tasty food. Vibrant and modern dining area. I will be back for more. ❤️👍

Ivan Ramen is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience ramen like never before! Thanks to a friend for bringing us here and encouraging us to watch the Chef's Table episode featuring Chef Ivan Orkin—a moving story that resonates deeply and is worth watching (grab a tissue and watch before you go!) We went on a night when the Blackbird special was going on, and the ramen was half-price through the app. We ran into some issues with the app, but luckily a representative was there to help. Even though we couldn't get the app working correctly, Ivan Ramen still honored the deal. Great service! Ivan Orkin's dedication to creating a unique culinary experience distinctly shines through in the food. The ramen I enjoyed was absolutely the best I've ever had, even compared to my time in Japan. I savored the chicken ramen, enhanced by roasted tomato, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Accompanying the ramen, we had a delightful serving of the Ivan Karaage, which was beautifully crispy and flavorful—a true highlight of the meal. On our plates but not pictured were the scrumptious miso Caesar salad and a refreshing daikon salad, both of which complemented the meal perfectly. Everything about our dining experience was exceptional, and I can't recommend Ivan Ramen enough for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic yet innovative take on ramen! Update: had to go back again, added some more photos.

The food was really good! I ordered the Triple Pork, Triple Garlic, and it was amazing—really tasty. I would have preferred it to be a bit hotter, but I assume that’s how it’s meant to be. I also tried the Yuzu dessert, which was unique and a great choice for a vibrant citrus experience. Highly recommend!

Cute place, crowded but the staff was very efficient. The ramen noodles are very good. Great texture and fresh. But the broth was a bit too salty for me (but salty is the authentic way so I really can’t blame it on the chef). We also saw chef Iran. He was super friendly and chatting with everyone. All the appetizers seem to be really good! We got the eggplant, the green beans and the fried chicken. All of them are amazing!!!!

Our server was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, offering spot-on recommendations. The chicken paitan ramen was the highlight, with its rich, creamy broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Every bite was a perfect blend of textures and flavors. Highly recommend with top-notch food, stellar service, and a welcoming vibe.

Great appetizers - especially the karaage and potato salad, which were both amazing. The ramen itself was just okay; the portion felt small and nothing particularly stood out. Service, however, was excellent and incredibly fast, which makes sense given how many people were trying to get in and how quickly they were turning tables. I went on a Saturday night around 6 PM, and the place was very packed.

Famous ramen spot from a Jewish guy who mastered the craft in Japan—cool story, even better noodles . Triple Pork Tsukemen (dipping noodles) is the move: thick noodles, rich concentrated broth, slices of pork belly and shoulder . Tokyo Scallion Ramen with chicken broth is lighter but still packed with umami . Pickled cucumber side is refreshing . Cash only, counter seating, can get a line . Worth the wait.

Excuse my photo of my half eaten meal. I ordered the Tokyo Shio and I quite liked it as the soup was balanced (not overly salty as some places do). Our server was really friendly and nice, even gave us recommendations of his favourite spots in the neighbourhood!

Ivan Ramen is a super cool spot in NYC and it’s always poppin’ for a reason. The vibe is energetic and fun, and even when it’s busy it still feels like a place you want to hang out. I ordered the chicken ramen and it was seriously good — flavorful, comforting, and really satisfying from the first bite to the last. It’s a little pricey, but the quality is there and the overall experience makes it worth it. If you’re looking for a great ramen place with a lively atmosphere, I definitely recommend checking out Ivan Ramen.

The service was fantastic from start to finish. The staff was friendly and very tentative to my parties needs. The flavors here are extremely unique. I ordered the Spicy Kyuri Pickles and the Tokyo Shio Ramen. The atmosphere is very modern even for a restaurant that has been around for a while. The floors, counters, and utensils were all clean as well. I will definitely be back here again as I look forward to trying more items on the menu and seeing what I like best.

Great spot, love that the ramen is actually spicy just wish the cilantro flavor wasn’t as strong and there was more meat on the chashu vs fat but still good ramen overall. Got the spicy miso ramen!

Went on a Thursday night for dinner. Food was AMAZING. Two of us got the tonkotsu ramen and the third the vegan ramen. We all loved our dishes. Would highly recommend the spicy garlic chicken appetizer as well as the combo where you can get 3 small bites for $16 - the potato salad was the best I’ve had and the asparagus with the stracciatella changed my life. However, the hostess was rude and unfriendly - told us there was a 45 min wait, when we went back (put our names down), she told us we were next. When a table cleared a few minutes later, she sat down another group that had also been waiting while ignoring us. So, it ended up being about 75 minutes to get seated… And then we didn’t even get a table, but rather the bar/stool seating. That aside, the service (our waiter) was speedy and lovely. Overall would come back but recommend MAKING A RESERVATION, even for weekdays!

super attentive staff!! we got the tonkotsu and jiro tonkotsu ramen and both came in huge portion! the soup was very thick and noodle was just chewy right at the sweet spot. they have a small outside, backyard seating area that is quite nice too (no a/c though) there were some cool drinks/desserts on the menu but we were too full to get, will come again next time!

Ivan Ramen has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the city. The chicken paitan ramen is the real star here — the broth is incredibly rich and silky, clearly the result of hours of slow simmering. The pastrami buns were an unexpected highlight too; don't skip them. We also tried the curry cauliflower, which was beautifully seasoned and unlike anything I've had at a ramen spot before. The reason I'm leaving off that fifth star is that a couple of the appetizers felt a bit inconsistent, and the dessert portion was way larger than expected — not necessarily a bad thing, but we ended up sharing and still couldn't finish it. Service was attentive and warm throughout. The bar seating is a great option if you can't snag a reservation. Will definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

There are a few of these located around the city. This one serves the LES. Good food. Small portions. Nice staff. Outdoor seating in the back is available. Reasonably priced. Card payments are accepted. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. We will definitely be going back. Thank you to the owner for responding. I look forward to trying your other locations. ESJ

The staff were kind and the atmosphere was nice. Japanese ramen was a good choice on a cold day. However, it was too salty, so I had to keep adding water while eating it.

One thing i loved the most was the broth. The ramen overall was good, the service was good too. The only complaint I have is we they dont give meat prices in miso ramen. I am not sure if that was a mistake or they dont have it but the ramen itself was 👍🏻

Appetisers were amazing, and service too! A bit of a disappointment as my Tokyo Shio ramen was very porky (yes, its a thing) and I wouldn't recommend it. Tonkotsu ramen was good, but nothing to write home about.

Perhaps I was too hyped for this, otherwise this spot may have lost it's original charm. The ramen ... was ramen. Nothing particularly interesting, but nor is there anything to critique. I struggle to understand what makes this "Ivan" cuisine. The rye noodles don't add anything to the dish. There was nothing particularly standout with the ramen either. It is a bowl of meat, veggies and noodles in lard soup. Come here if you want a safe bowl of ramen. The interior is well decorated as well. Loved the wallpaper.

The food was very delicious. The service was insanely attentive, too much imo. They would refill our water CONSTANTLY basically never leaving us alone to enjoy the meal and took our food plates away the second we finished, which I was sad about because I would’ve liked to use the sauce left over from our appetizers with the rice I ordered as a side with my main. We had three separate wait staff coming to deliver our food, all clamoring to put their dish down on the table first. Not a relaxing dining experience but the food was great. I wish I could tip the kitchen staff instead of the servers.

The service from our server was warm and attentive, and we truly appreciated that. However, our experience with the host was disappointing. We were seated at a table near the entrance, where it was noticeably cold, and it appeared that Asian guests were grouped together in that area. There was no proper greeting or farewell, and we felt ignored upon leaving. The level of warmth and attentiveness was noticeably different from what we observed with other (non-Asian) guests. As a restaurant owner myself, I believe hospitality should be consistent and inclusive. I did not expect to feel this way at a Michelin-recognized restaurant. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the food and service team clearly have strong potential.

I don’t really understand the hype beyond the prime location. The ramen bowls are just okay — fine if you’re craving something comforting, but nothing special. The space is cute, but the atmosphere was a bit too rowdy for my taste.

I’ve been here 3-4 years ago and didn’t like it very much so I decided to come back and give it another try. I ordered the chicken ramen with extra egg on the side with an Ivan Palmer. The broth was pretty good, but on the saltier side. Not the biggest fan of their type of noodle, it reminds me a lot of soba, although chewier. The Ivan Palmer (iced tea + yuzu lemonade) just tasted like straight up lemon juice and nothing else, I was quite disappointed. Overall, a decent bowl of ramen, but I wouldn’t make the trip unless I was in the area and really wanted ramen. However, the service is very nice and friendly :)

I never write reviews but I had the worst restaurant experience of my life here. Had a reservation at 6:30 with a friend for two people. He got there at 6:20 and they wouldn’t seat him until I was there- ok, totally understand that. I walk in at 6:32 and we watched them give our table away to another party which was annoying but sure we’ll sit somewhere else. We took the option of sitting on the covered, heated patio and we were walked to the back door and were told to sit at any table so we sat at a table with 4 settings since no one specified which table to sit at. At about 7:15 our waitress came up to us and said a larger party would be coming at 7:30 and they’d need our table to seat them so if we weren’t done eating, they’d help us move to another table. That was a little annoying since they could have just sat us at the right table from the get go but we agreed without any issues and said that’s totally fine and we would move whenever they needed us to. Another woman came out at 7:30 (possibly the manager? I’m not totally sure) and said she heard we sat ourselves at the wrong table and that someone had already told us they needed our table and we needed to move, acting as if we were putting up a fight, which we absolutely never did. We said that was completely fine but let her know that we were told to just sit wherever and weren’t guided to a table and in the nastiest, most condescending tone this woman said “I know my staff and I know they would NEVER do something like that” straight up implying that we lied to her (even though we were already in the process of moving tables and never once pushed back). The complete disrespect towards me and my friend was HORRIFYING. I have truly never been spoken to in such a nasty way by anyone and was simply not comfortable finishing my meal after being treated that way by a staff member, let alone potentially the manager, so I asked for the check instead and left. I will never be returning here after this experience and being treated so poorly to the point that I was not comfortable finishing the food I purchased. Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had dining out.

i don't normally do this, but i made a reservation online through opentable for 6pm in two days. after i had made the reservation, i even called them right after to confirm the reservation. they confirmed it on the phone with me so i thought i was okay. then 6 hours later they call me to tell me they cant honor the reservation and a mistake happened. they didn't apologize, didn't tell me why. just said they can fit me in at 9pm...3 hours after my actual reservation. obviously thats ridiculous and i just said to forget about it and they hung up. you made a mistake on your end and dont say sorry or give me an explanation? what terrible customer service. the person on the phone wasn't even sympathetic. what a way to get me to never come to your restaurant.
