This place is amazing. The pizzas are always delicious and the flavors are amazing! I ordered the orecchiette and lemon ricotta cheesecake days ago and I am still thinking about them. The servers are super kind and friendly. The atmosphere is really great. Cannot wait to go back again and again and try everything!
I’m not celiac, so possible cross-contamination in a brick oven isn’t a big concern. We found them because they make their own GF crust. I’ve been eating GF pizzas around NYC this week, and I have to say that this is the most “authentic” crust I’ve had so far. So doughy and very good. The pizza is more like Italian pizza than New York style. The cocktails are amazing as well and very Italian-based. The drinks remind us of being in Italy this summer. And if you still have room for dessert, try the churros with Nutella. Generous portion! Highly recommend!
This is our neighborhood restaurant. We usually come here on Fridays to celebrate the end of the work week. Their handmade pastas are ALL excellent (my fav is the bucatini) and their pizzas are soft and chewy and pillowy. The staff are all warm and friendly and the vibe is just relaxed and chill. Whether it’s a cold winter night sipping an old fashioned or a warm summer afternoon sipping a Negroni, there’s no other place I’d rather be at than Bar 314. This is a destination restaurant. Even if it was all the way down in the Financial District I’d travel to it.
The entire experience was wonderful! I had a special pesto pasta that was one of the best I ever had! I also tried couple of pizzas my friends had and those were super on point! Also, great wines in reasonable prices :) Definitely worth checking out!
Been here 3 days in a row, staff is super friendly, food is amazing (recommend the prosciutto or chicken focaccia bread sandwiches during lunchtime).
My favorite pizza place in the neighborhood! So happy they moved to broadway, the new location is great. Order from here about once a week. Only downside is that getting pick up used to be a lot quicker but it’s getting slower.
One of the best restaurants ever for kids. We arrived with two hungry kids. The owner came out to chat with us, got us pizza within 5 minutes, and followed up with the rest of our order a few minutes later. They really saved the day!
Have not had better pizza…absolutely amazing! This is a hidden gem, deserves more credit for its ambience and staff and outstanding food. Enough vegetarian options, we ordered only vegetarian and went back satiated!
An amazing Neal! Will definitely be back! Started with the brussel sprouts and the beet salad! Both were delicious and perfect compliments to each other as starters. Brussels being warm and beet salad cold. We also had the 314 pizza on gluten free crust! It was absolutely delicious and my boyfriend and I continue to wonder if we are sure it was Gluten Free! Jessica was our amazingly attentive and sweet waitress. I don't drink so didn't have the wine but will be back for more pizza soon!
Have always loved their pizza, but dined in for the first time in the new location. Really good food (not just the pizza), a really interesting cocktail menu, and good vibes. Great neighborhood spot.
So accommodating and wonderful for our group of 5. The food was amazing, highly recommend the eggplant rollatini and the burrata appetizers. The service was impeccable, answering all questions and guiding to the right pizzas and entrees. Highly recommend!! With a great happy hour
What a wonderful surprise this new restaurant at an old locale is! our group did not stay for dinner, only met for drinks and appetizers. But they were delicious and plentiful. And our server (Jessica) was a delight and made the occasion even more fun. We will definitely head back there again.
I love this place! It was our local for a nice glass of wine or a good meal, and since they’ve remained open during COVID, we try to order from there every Friday night. The food is great - I’m obsessed with. their brussel sprouts and my husband loves the Morningside pizza. Wine selection is good and well priced. The owners and staff are lovely and they take great care of their customers.
First time here as "314". We had a family pizza birthday dinner. We tried many different kinds of pizza, NYC and 314 were great. I miss the old owner of Bettalona but life goes on. We will be coming back to try the pasta etc etc.
The pizza here is fantastic! Their prosciutto di Parma with truffle oil pie is one of my favorites. The waiters are always friendly.
Great food, great drinks, and good people!
I was at 314 and ate the spaghetti meatballs. They were amazing ! Pasta cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce really tasty. The cheese platter that I took as starter was also so good. My boyfriend took a salad and a pizza and I got a bite as well. Almost made me regret my choice but, then again, I am a pasta lover so it was all good. A place definitively worth the stop. Ps: took a cocktail and made me feel like I'm on an Italian terrace
Really fun place to hang out with a group. They often have local artist bands. Once, the lead singer changed the lyrics to reach home safe when we were leaving:) Orecchiette Pasta and Aranchini were absolutely awesome, and the next level dishes. Would highly recommend to anyone around the locality to try it for the first time they visit. The service is quick and nice for both indoor and outdoor.
Gluten-free folks, delight! Their pizza had one of the best gluten-free dough crusts I've ever had! The sandwiches were served on rolls made from the same made in-house pizza dough and were outstanding. The salads were fresh. Everything was tasty. Our server was very friendly. The prices were reasonable as well. Great find.
This was an intimate and comfortable spot to eat with friends. The waiter was knowledgeable and personable, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was very good. I won't forget the first taste of the marinara on the margherita pizza - flavorful, aromatic, and fresh. If you're around, don't hesitate to go in.
Hands down our favorite local dinner spot! Also great for lunch too. The food is consistently delicious and staff are warm and caring— we are super regulars and have been coming for years. Highly recommend 314!
Great food, great music, great drinks, friendly staff! Highly recommend.
We had a delightful Italian dinner experience at this charming spot featuring a lovely bar and pizza oven. We went on a Tuesday to enjoy jazz being performed by a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the food. The outdoor seating adds to the cozy ambiance, especially at night. The standout dish of the evening was the caponatta – truly exceptional with its layers of flavor and accompanied by delicious polenta crisp at thw bottom. I regretted sharing it, as it was so good. The pappardelle with short rib ragu was also a solid choice, and the Bari pizza was great. For dessert, the tiramisu struck the perfect balance of sweetness, though my friend couldn't resist eating most of it before I could join in. We paired our meal with a bottle of Toscanna Rosso 2019, priced at $48, which complemented our dishes perfectly. We got five glasses from it The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I'm already looking forward to returning .
The food was good and unique however the train passes by every 5 minutes and drowns out everything which lowers the atmosphere by 3 points.
Incredible pizza (with a solid GF option available) and fantastic dishes overall. Really fun atmosphere without being too rowdy and very friendly staff. Cocktail list is the best one you’ll find in a 20 block radius. They recently moved to this location and it has very spacious seating and a great bar area to hang out or dine.
Cozy, warm Italian place in the UWS, walking distance from 125th station. You feel welcome the second you walk in. The food is delicious, authentic Italian with an nyc twist (try the mezzi rigatoni and the focaccia - you won’t regret!), cocktails are balanced, visually stunning, made with high quality ingredients. The service is friendly and attentive. Bruno and Roberta’s bright, gentle smiles are just the icing on the cake. Thank you Bruno, Roberta and Lorenzo: we’ll come back very soon!
Simply the best gourmet experience pizza you'll find in NYC. The Dante is a favorite but every pie on the menu as well as the pasta dishes are superb, and the cocktail menu has some very fun options and spins on classic favorites.
Amazing spot, cocktails are very good and creative, and at a decent price point. The food is really good, I think the non-pizza items are a bit better, but the pizza is good too, just hard to compete with the nearby Mama's Too on pizza. The happy hour is 🔥🔥🔥
This is my new go-to for pizza. I’ve ordered from here several times and it’s the best around! The restaurant staff is super friendly and the vibes are immaculate.
I can’t count how many times I’ve driven by this restaurant without noticing it. Finally, last week, a friend introduced me to one of the best-kept secrets of the Upper West Side. I started with an appetizer of focaccia, mortadella, Castelvetrano olives, and stracciatella, which was excellent. I would definitely return for the outstanding cauliflower steak and busiate. The experience at the bar was also great—friendly staff and clientele, likely connected with Columbia University. The wine selection is very good, with reasonable prices. This place is now at the top of my favorites in NYC.
Loved this place. It has a great ambiance, it is cozy yet lively, perfect for both a date night or a night out with your friends. From the moment we stepped inside to the moment we left—the staff was enthusiastic, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious. We started with the artichokes and the fried Brussels. Both incredibly tasty and flavorful! However, the portion of the artichokes is quite small, we were left wanting more! The pizzas were the highlight. We shared the 314 and the columbia pizza. The crust is thin and crispy while the center was soft and full of flavors. Well worth the price and will be returning to try something new. Add this to your must-visit list!
Had one of the best nights of the year here! Amazing cocktails and a great bartender who /diagnosed/ us with drink recommendations that were all perfect! Some of the best Italian food I’ve eaten in a while, perfect for sharing and eating individually. Great ambience without seeming forced. Staff all lovely. I’ve already been back once again and hope for many more amazing nights here.
314 Pizza,Pasta&WineBar is my happy place. The pizza is terrific and every time I spend at least 20 minutes debating about which pizza I should get. I am usually a fan of red pies but the sweet cheeks (in the pic) conquered my heart. The truffle honey is just lovely. The wine selection includes wines from different countries and there are always wine specials. The burger, the lasagna and the new entry gnocchi are in my top 10 of dishes I wish I could have every day. I can't leave without ordering some churro with nutella :P
Our favorite of many great meals in NYC! Sitting on the porch was great people watching in a vibrant neighborhood. Lasagna was outstanding as was the margarita pizza.
Stumbled upon Bar314 last night, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The dim lighting, chic decor, and relaxed vibe create the perfect setting for a casual night out with friends or a laid-back date night. Now, let’s talk about the pizza! Easily some of the best I’ve had in NYC, and that’s saying something! Perfectly thin, crispy crust with just the right amount of char, topped with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Every bite was a reminder of why pizza is a true art form, and Bar314’s take on it is nothing short of masterful. Pair that with their impressive wine list, and you’re in for a real treat. The selection is carefully curated, offering something for every palate, whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for the perfect glass to complement your meal. I was thrilled with the bottle our server recommended—it paired beautifully with the pizza and elevated the entire dining experience. Overall, Bar314 has everything you could want in a bar—great drinks, possibly the best pizza in the city, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a spot to unwind after work or a new place to become a regular, Bar314 is worth checking out. I’ll definitely be back soon!
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Balanced, delicious, fragrant, hot, and satisfying. Came here on a very frigid Sunday, and even though it was *freezing* out I was still shocked there weren’t more folks here because the food is so delicious. Cynthia was our server and she was so sweet and fun to chat with! We started with the meatballs. They smelled so incredible we cut one in half before I remembered to get a picture. Nothing has made me want to learn to make meatballs like these did. They held their shape, but were nearly fall apart tender, and also so juicy. The red sauce they were sitting in was incredibly flavorful. The bread was soft and crispy at the edges - I only wished I had more. We got the brunch cotoletta and the waffle cotoletta. The breaded pork chop was so wonderfully crispy and tender. I can also be very picky about hollandaise, but loved theirs. Rich, a touch tangy, and not overly thick. The arugula salad on top of my cotoletta brought an appreciated lightness and balance to the whole dish. The thinly sliced green apple brought a touch of sweetness that also paired well with the flavors of the pork chop and the hollandaise. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Loads of liquid gold to dip my pork chop in! To top it all off we got to try their tiramisu. My partner doesn’t love tiramisu but enjoyed this one! I can’t wait to come back and try their pizza.
My girlfriend found this restaurant on Inkind and realized that their pizza was highly recommended! We ended up at the restaurant for brunch and the brunch menu caught our attention! I got the waffle cotoletta & she got the brunch cotoletta. The amount of food is amazing for the prices. Our dishes were beyond delicious. Cannot wait to come back and try the pizzas. Don’t forget to get the meatballs- they’re to die for!!! Also our server, Cynthia gave us their tiramisu which again delicious.
So much more than pizza. My son and I ordered two pasta dishes, and both were very good. Great service as well. Would absolutely stop here again when in the area!
My husband stumbled upon a Reddit post that listed all of the best pizza places in the city, broken out by categories. Being pizza aficionados ourselves, we scrolled the list and agreed with many of his choices. 314 was one of the places he mentioned and when we looked it up, were pleasantly surprised how close it was to our apartment. We just went there for date night and totally understand why it made the list. The pizza was outstanding, as well as the burger, the ambiance was cozy yet lively and the staff was genuine, attentive and friendly. Our waiter, Ed, cared deeply about our experience at the restaurant and it really showed. We will be back!
Had Calamari and Orecchiette with sausage. Perfect. The pasta was amazing, the pesto ricotta mixed with grated cheese, sundried tomatoes, and especially the deep fried mushrooms (a bacon-like flavor) created a well balanced flavor profile which was incredibly delicious! The Calamari was nice and lightly crunchy. Not very busy on a Sunday lunch, service was great. (I know the photo looks gross but thats after I made a mess of it!) Its really good
This restaurant provides complete satisfaction. Their staff member explained everything without hovering. The cuisine maintains excellence throughout with good value. All their offerings maintain high quality. Workers gave quality service and meals were fantastic! I'm definitely coming back.
I must say 3 1 4 was such a pleasant surprise, I sorta underestimated it. I came here to grab a cocktail after having some ramen not too far from this location. I must say the cocktails 👌🏽 perfect, amazing, delicious and so well balanced. I enjoy cocktail bars with mixologists that blow your mind away & don’t leave that brick oven pizza out everyone raves about. They have live jazz every Wednesday at 7pm ! ✨
This is a perfect little Italian date night spot! Totally a hidden gem in Morningside Heighs, it’s literally 16 minutes uptown on the 1 train and is serving up very high quality wood fire oven pizza and several legit pasta dishes! 🍝 You can seriously taste the difference of a wood fire oven pizza versus not and their dough is homemade, light and airy. And they even have gluten free options. Dinner at the bar is also an option, their drink menu is kinda wild. Here were some menu highlights: 🍕 Columbia Pie: Vodka sauce, mozzarella, grana, double basil pesto 🍝 Gemelli: Fresh pasta with shrimp, tomato sauce, burrata, spicy peppers, spinach 🍄 Orecchiette: Broccoli rabe and ricotta pesto, sundried tomatoes, pecorino, fried mushrooms 🥃 Trick or Treat: Rye whiskey with cinnamon, Campari, honey, and Nardini Amaro
We haven't been to the place but we peeped at their menu online and their menu had us wanting to try their pizza so we had it delivered. The margarita pizza was beautifully done made with a tomato sauce base, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil leaves. The mozzarella cheese was gooey, and overall a fresh margarita pie! We can't imagine what their other pizzas must taste like.
The place is very nice for all kind of occasions. But the food!!! The food is AMAZING! We have pizza Babba OMG it will blow your mind, brick oven definitely make the difference. We had so many plates… frutti di mare, arancini, burrata, pasta and porchetta!! delizioso!! Delicious. Tks chef. Wine recommend it by a lovely waitress: Super Toscana. Tks Roberta, So on point!!
Very good place for Neapolitan-style pizza. We started off with grilled artichoke hearts with lemon vinaigrette & shaved pecorino toscano - a nice antipasto - and then shared two pizzas: the spicy Picca (tomato sauce, fontina, hot sausage, red onions, chillies) and the Norma (tomato sauce, fried eggplant, ricotta, pecorino, garlic & basil). Both were really good - with soft, pillowy, lightly-charred Neapolitan-style crust - but the zesty Picca had the edge (the Norma was slightly bland / under seasoned). Nice service and a convivial, mellow vibe.
The gnocchi al fungi was 10/10. Very filling and delicious. The pizza was okay, wasn't anything unique or amazing. We went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. The place is clean and quiet, and the service is great. We didn't like the small table they had us at so the server moved us to a larger table. The cozy and dim vibe would be perfect for date nights.
Pizza was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was also very nice. It’s a tight seating arrangement and no air conditioning. I wasn’t too crazy about the baked clams appetizer. Not a lot of flavor and some sand. I was expecting more like clams casino and these were definitely not.
The food was excellent. We had such a nice time trying to enjoy the most of it. My mom asked the waiter nicely if they could not put scallions on the calamari. He agreed. But when we got the dish there were calamari on them. We wanted to just take it off the bill, but they continuously tried to charge us for it until we talked to the manager. They did not even comp us for this error.
First impressions were good the server was nice the place looks very cozy modern and a little swank in a good way the food on the other hand definitely needs some work my fiancé and I both order the chicken parm which was extremely bland no amount of salt and pepper could fix. Also I would have liked if the server would have checked in more even when I had a full plate left she didn’t bother to ask if we enjoyed it.
The hostess was not happy to sit 8 people with no reservations at 12:05 on Wednesday with only two people at the restaurant. Sorry for walking many blocks (again) from the main campus to your restaurant to have lunch. She was also the waitress and the service reflected her attitude. The food was great but will not return.
The first time we went, we loved it so much, we came back a few weeks later and ordered the same things. Well... in the span of a few weeks, the cheese plate (priced exactly the same) suddenly had two less cheeses, less nuts, no fig jam (is this really a cheese plate anymore?). And the pizza was wet. Disappointing.
The pizza is great! I’ve been coming here for years and when 314 replaced the old Bettalona it was a relief to discover that the pizzas remained top notch, maybe even better than before. I came recently and ordered a lentil soup. It was so salty it was inedible, and I love salty food. The bottle of wine we ordered at the outset only came once they started dropping the entrees and we asked about it. The broccoli rabe, ironically, had almost no salt, but a good amount of heat. Unfortunately the prep crew didn’t wash it so it also had sand in it. Finally, the tiramisu was disappointing. Barely a hint of coffee and no rum to speak of. The texture was good though. It seems 314 is slipping. It will be hard to justify going back when dinner out costs ~$50 per person! Don’t we at least deserve edible soup and not-sandy veggies? Best to stick with the pizza I guess.
Disappointed. We usually order pizza and it is fantastic. we explored the menu and ordered chicken parm, lasagna, and tiramisu for dessert. the pasta was not al dente and the tomato paste was very dry as well the chicken. on the other hand, The restaurant is cute and cozy but the inside tables that are right next to the window are terrible, we practically had dinner sharing stories with the couple next to us who were quite close to us.
i’ve been meaning to try this place because of the good reviews i think i just came on the wrong day. the 314 hot honey pizza looks so good in the pictures but when i ordered it today for the first time, it looked wet and not cooked enough. the dough was raw, cheese was slipping off/not melted onto the bread and even tho i had just ordered it, it was not hot. also i barely tasted any hot honey which is what that pizza is known for. i think the pizza guy today is not experienced. i was disappointed. i would like to try it again but next time i will look at the cook to see if he looks like a noob or someone who knows how to actually make the pizza
Terrible experience, short menu with questionable italian dishes. For starters almost all dishes included feta cheese… excuse me? Was it an Italian or a Greek restaurant again? And a pinapple salad? What kind of italian dish is this? Continuing with the main dishes, there were 4 types of pasta and we ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, the only good part was that the pasta was al dente but the sauce was probably from the supermarket. So as the options were’t great we decided to go with an off menu dish as well: lobster ravioli… let me just say that my cat’s kibble might taste better, and is less expensive… Moving onto the service: slow and unattentive, and the place itself was too loud in the inside and also the terrace is noisy when a train passes by (every 3-4 minutes)
One of the worst pizza deliveries ever. Did not come as described at all. Instead what I received was cold, stale, and dry dough with toppings (some of which are missing) thrown on top. Tastes like crap obviously. Packaged with no seal which I’m sure didn’t help. Just pitiful
I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share this terrible experience. As a pregnant woman, I’m extremely mindful of what I eat and always check ahead with restaurants to make sure they can accommodate basic dietary needs – especially when it comes to food safety. Unfortunately, this place showed zero care or flexibility. When I politely asked if certain ingredients could be cooked more thoroughly. I was met with complete indifference and even a bit of attitude. The staff made me feel like I was being difficult just for advocating for my health and my baby’s. No effort was made to help me . No empathy. No solutions. Just a shrug and a suggestion to order something else or not eat at all. I left hungry, upset, and honestly shocked by how little regard this place had for something as basic as food safety for pregnant customers. This is NOT how you treat people, especially someone who is expecting. If you are pregnant or have any dietary restrictions, I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant. They do not care, and it shows.
These guys have absolutely NO IDEA how to make a pizza. It was burned, and what does garlic have to do with pizza margherita? NOTHING. Totally disgusting. Even in the gastronomic desert called Morningside Heights this place is TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.
