excellent pourovers. don't let the other reviewers about the ~vibe fool you. rare gem in the neighborhood that's serious about specialty coffee/their beans, which they roast themselves.
We got an awful lot of stuff here. We got an iced espresso, we got an Americano we got brew coffee we got tea we got five kinds of pastry including cookies. Everything was excellent. Our server was cheery and it was overall an excellent experience.
a great cafe to get matcha! bean & bean is a gem on wall street for a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city. they offer bags of beans at a range of prices (with amazing cup of excellence coffees!!). i got a matcha and asked the barista if he recommended sweet/unsweet. he kindly gave a helpful personal preference and i enjoyed a hot unsweetened matcha latte. matcha quality was great and i’d come back here anytime i’m in fidi!
I adore this cafe! Every time I'm in the FiDi area, I make it a point to stop by. The staff is super friendly. Food options are well thought out and tasty (prices are in line with other local options). Plus I love the nostalgia of being in an old bank :) But the best part is their coffee is ethically sourced and individually selected by the mother + daughter owners, who also are Q graders. You can feel great about the coffee you get here and know it has the highest bar for quality. Such an great story!
Always good coffee here and pretty friendly staff
Great Iced Coffee and Iced Latte. Really hit the Soot today after the Tunnel to Towers Run / Walk.
I'm usually a pourover guy and the pourover they have on bar are crazy special. Having Panama Gesha in fidi is crazy awesome and the coffee was dialed in well. It's an expensive coffee (because it's good quality beans), but totally done with justice
I love this coffee shop - the baristas are friendly and make tasty drinks. Also, this is the last bastion of the $5 latte so I don’t feel guilty adding a pastry or two :) They have a funky barrel aged whiskey tasting coffee - quite good. The $9 avo toast is a nice tasty snack.
Nice little coffee store. We had a Honey Latte and Hot Chocklade. Best Toffee Cookie we eat, ever. Tasty lemon poppy muffin.
Visited here for a quick stop between errands and wanted to try out a local shop. So glad I did; the iced lavender latte with oat is a must! The baristas were friendly, the sloth posters were amusing and adorable, and there’s no up-charge for vegan dairy options which I really appreciate. Definitely going to be back.
The first time I came, I got a chai latte, which I thought was quite flavorful but was not a fan of how spongey the foam was. The second time I came, I got their honey latte and it was phenomenal! It was super creamy and subtley sweet per their description. Really enjoyed the blend of sweetness, cream, and roasted flavors.
Cozy, warm, and effortlessly stylish—this coffee shop is a total standout. The coffee is rich and smooth, clearly made with care, and the pastries are just as impressive. Perfect spot to relax, get some work done, or catch up with a friend. Great vibes, great quality, and super friendly staff.
They make the best coffee in the city, and the service was warm and thoughtful!
Worth visit if u r a coffee lover. They have a lot of interesting beans from rare areas. Interesting menu with pour over selection. Nice space to stay and chill. ☕️✨❤️🔥Pour over options were so nice. The one from Hawaii was gorgeous. ☕️🥛⭕️Cappuccino I got the other day was outstanding too. It was gentle, smooth, and creamy. Honey latte is for sweet drink lovers. My friend had it with oat milk and she loved it.
I hope the recent addition of maman does not distupt their sales, but perhaps inspire a change of design from the cold, metallic, industrial feel.
This coffee shop is undoubtedly my favorite in New York City. The baristas consistently craft exceptional lattes adorned with stunning art. Their kindness and remarkable memory for regular customers create an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. A visit here is an absolute must!
Their El Salvador pourover was by far the fruitiest coffee I've had to the point where it barely tasted like coffee! The pourover was made very well (at least better than my attempts at home)! And the workers were very friendly and interested!
Terrific cafe. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. The pourover menu is extensive and it’s a great way to get to try out and taste different beans, including some rarities. Also has a great selection of their own whole beans bags to take home, they excel as a roaster too.
Competent, consistently kind service and great-tasting coffee — all in a convenient location. A perfect commuter spot with some of the best quality and value you’ll find in NYC.
It took me a second to find this place, very unique location with a revolving door entrance. Coffee is great and so were the prices, so don’t even think about going to the nearby Starbucks! There was also a limited pastry selection and fridge with yogurts and chia puddings. Chia pudding was great, I think it tasted like it was made with maybe almond milk but no extra sweeteners, so it was perfectly balanced with the fruit. Very small and dark on the inside but so many nice places outdoors nearby to take everything to go.
Dropped in after a meeting this afternoon, Noah and Anthony were not only super sweet and welcoming, but they even helped me with a non food related issue no questions asked! It’s my first time here but I see them welcoming locals warmly and being generous with everyone who comes in. They represent the cafe so well and I’ll definitely be popping in next time I’m in the neighborhood!
Very nice staff and very good food! I come here so often that I know the staff members!
A coffee temple in the heart of Wall Street Amid the financial rush, tailored suits, and hurried footsteps, there’s a sensory sanctuary that redefines what it means to drink coffee. This Wall Street café doesn’t just serve coffee — it serves history, terroir, and excellence in every cup. There’s no improvisation here: the menu is carefully curated with beans from Cup of Excellence winners — the most prestigious competition in the world of specialty coffee. Each origin is a distinct jewel, with flavor profiles ranging from floral Ethiopian lots with jasmine and bergamot, to washed Central Americans offering bright acidity and a crystal-clear finish. The extraction is flawless. Baristas here don’t just prepare coffee — they interpret it. Service is refined yet warm. The space is elegant and minimalist, like an urban temple for true lovers of the bean. If you’re in Wall Street and looking for more than caffeine, this place is a must. Here, coffee isn’t a beverage. It’s art, science, and liquid culture. Serious advice: Ask the barista for the Geishas available, mind blowing 🤯
Bean & Bean has long been a reliable spot in the neighborhood to grab coffee, but in recent years it has also become a speciality coffee and culinary destination for the Financial District. They have plenty of seats and high-quality baked goods in addition to single-origin pour overs (in addition to their standard drinks menu). Hospitality and service are also lovely. And locally owned! Whether you work in the area or are just visiting, I highly recommend stopping by!
My long standing opinion is NYC cafes are more quantity over quality. Everyone sells the same thing while adding their own syrup. There are only a handful of cafes that I can genuinely say they know what they are doing with brewing a cup of single origin coffee. Let alone having a great selection of hard to find and top quality coffee. Taste is always subjective, but if you're interested in single origin coffee, Bean & Beans is one of very few places I'd recommend in Manhattan. To find those rare selections you really won't see anywhere else to take home or to enjoy limited serving of special single origins.
Listen... this is the best coffee shop in lower Manhattan. Jaime (sp?) and Oli made my iced caramel latte the first day we visited and I made a special trip to come back from midtown if that tells you anything. Friendly, kind and efficient. Food and coffee are great. Loved the iced caramel latte! The A/C is blasting and a welcome retreat from the muggy heat while walking around to see this amazing city. Jamie and Oli-- thanks for the conversation and excellent treat.
Specialty coffeeshop in the financial district with lots of interesting and award winning coffees to try. They roast the beans themselves. The owners are incredibly welcoming, love nerding out over coffee, and are very receptive to feedback. Give their pourovers a go.
I love this location!! Violet, Jamie, and Julio are always so good to me! Line is always super speedy and I’m greeted pleasantly each visit. The staff is extremely well informed on the menu and has been happy to accommodate during each visit. 5 very well earned stars!!! Keep up the good work 💓💓💓
Great service, excellent coffee and pastries. The staff is welcoming, friendly and they care to learn about clients’ preferences such as dietary restrictions, and how hot or strong you want the coffee.
The best coffee in New York. Please stop by and try one of Sydney’s drinks. I originally got a small Machiatto. I took one sip and knew i should have gotten a larger size. After i drunk it, literally had to turn around and order another one but a larger size. Great customer service from everyone. My only feedback is more diversity on the team.
We happened to just be walking by and saw the cutest sloth in the window!! We walked in to the cutest coffee shop with the BEST staff. They were so kind and friendly. My drink was perfect and so yummy. I bought one of their adorable tote bags and he gave me one of their enamel pins for free! Such a nice little surprise. I can’t wait to go back and visit one day.
I’ve been drinking coffee here for quite some time now. The honey latte is my most favorite drink and I don’t think any other cafe can beat it. Julio the barista always perfects my order and always delivers beautiful latte art. Definitely recommend trying this place out as it’s friendly and cozy vibes.
Got stuck in the rain so I decided to do work in here and it couldn’t be any more accommodating for me. Felt like I was in my own home office ! Staff was very attentive and helped me dry off + ensured all my pastries were warm and fresh. The comfort I experienced here makes me not want to go home !
Nice space, convenient location. Come here to attend the cupping event with Producer from Panama - Lerida Estate. Thank you for the hospitality from the owner and Q-grader of Bean & Bean, Jiyoon. Thank you Simba for preparing pour-over of crowds’ selected beans after the cupping ends. Wonderful Panama black honey process Gesha and others. Will come back for more cupping event in the future.
Nice large space , staff is has good coffee knowledge and are quite friendly. The selection of Specialty Coffees is impressive. I tasted several excellent coffees. Their baked goods are great too. I will be back soon for sure and recommend if you are in Wall St area to stop by. They also have a restroom for customers . .
Bean & Bean has upped their game, and roasting some incredible coffees that are Cup of Excellence winners from various Latin American producers. Rachel and Jiyoo Han, the mother-daughter co-owners, are also both Q Graders. If you see either of them in the shop, they are very friendly and happy to talk about coffee with you!
Formerly a mass-market coffee operation, Bean & Bean now purchases a lot of expensive auction lots and COEs (Cup of Excellence) and roasts them lighter than they previously did. They've recently upgraded all of the equipment at the Wall St location to better serve the specialty coffee customer. While the cafe itself is a little institutional looking, the service is friendly and capable. In addition to the standard coffee repertoire, Bean & Bean serves a wide-ranging pourover menu that includes some exceptional coffees, priced appropriately for the sourcing.
Great location whether you’re a coffee nerd or just looking for something yummy to sip on. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. The gesha espresso was actually reasonable priced. (I paid $10 for something similar in another shop in the city and wasn’t nearly as good.) Definitely check these guys out!
Coffee was hands down one of the freshest cups of coffee I’ve had in a while. Seating could be a little more comfortable. Would recommend.
Excellent Caffe latte and bagel; I didn't want it toasted, but it was v good anyway
Very tasty pastries and good coffee. There was no atmosphere or feel of the coffee place, hence 4 stars. However, the food was great so if you are looking for a takeaway, good spot.
The Matcha and the Almond Croissant were so good. The vibes of the place are very calm, very chill, very relaxed, and a great little spot near the Bull, where you can grab something to eat. The only issue that I had with the place, was the round-about door right in front. The round-about in front of the Cafe was pretty old, and tended to get stuck when you were inside of it. You really had to push if you wanted to get inside. Other then that, the Matcha was amazing. With a weird little Matcha Cold Foamish on top of my Matcha Latte. The crossaint was amazing, nice and buttery and flakey. Would recommend to anyone who wants a little unknown spot.
A good coffee shop with an hilarious sloth mascot. Friendly service, good selection of pastries. A solid, medium body espresso (I had a 4 shot 20oz Americano) that will pair nicely with a wide range of bakery treats. I had a vegan bar, it was like a vegie packed soft oatmeal cookie - I recommend sharing it as it is dense and filling - think oatmeal with all the fixings in a bar.
7.30am, staff yawns at me and I feel like the most unwanted customer ever. All I wanted was some tea and a toast. Also, everything is single-use, even when you order to eat in. Come on, have you not heard of our planet burning? Food was mediocre. Avo toast with salmon was too salty, very thin slice of bread. And with a tea and a juice I landed at 25 USD. Damn…
I got a medium iced oat milk latte and it was $8.00. I get it that rent is expensive but $8.00 for a 12 oz cup that is half ice is crazy!! Then tip brings it up to $9. The atmosphere was just okay. It’s not a super comfortable place to sit and work. I am sure there must be a better coffee shop in fidi.
Bean & Bean on Wall Street is a rare quiet pocket in the middle of the Financial District rush. The coffee is overall fine although the temperature of the cappuccino was not optimal. Staff are friendly without overdoing it, and service moves alright. Seating is limited, so it’s not ideal for lingering, but for a thoughtful cup of coffee and a short pause, it really delivers.
Atmosphere is like sitting in a dirty bus stop. Overpriced for the quality of food. Had an avocado toast. The toast was cold, not so much avocado on top and too much vinegar or lemon squeeze on top that I don't even understand why is necessary. Coffee was good and the service was fine.
Good coffee. Everything else is not edible. Avoid avocado, toast or eggs. You can try the parfait, but it will not impress you much. So in summary great coffee not a bad service and that’s it. As long as you buy just coffee you’ll be safe.
$6.86 for a watery cold brew (before tip) is crazy. I am a lifelong NYC resident and pay for good coffee. Absolutely not worth it. Friendly staff gets 2 stars.
☕️💬 Bean & Bean – Had potential, but didn’t quite warm our hearts Today my husband and I were walking through the Financial District 🏙️, enjoying the day, and looking for a quiet place to take a break and have a coffee. We found Bean & Bean, and while it looked promising from the outside — simple, a bit nostalgic — the experience inside left us feeling a bit disappointed. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was how old and untouched everything felt — from the front doors to the furniture. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, and I understand some might call it “vintage charm,” but to us, it felt more like the café hadn’t evolved in years. Even the cups were the most basic takeout kind — no brand, no detail, no personal touch 🥤 We ordered our drinks and took a seat. But then… nothing. ❌ No one asked for a name. ❌ No one explained the pickup process. ❌ No one let us know our coffee was ready. We just sat there, unsure of what to expect. I eventually went up to ask, and our drinks were already sitting there — cold. No one called us, no one brought them over, and no one checked in. Even though it was clear we were waiting. It may sound small, but these moments matter. When you go for coffee, especially in a city like New York, you’re often craving not just caffeine — but a little kindness, a bit of energy, some warmth. The coffee itself? Honestly, forgettable. Just… okay. And that would’ve been fine, if the experience felt more connected. But it didn’t. 💡 So if you’re just grabbing a quick caffeine fix and don’t mind an impersonal vibe, this might do the job. But if you’re looking for atmosphere, care, and attention — you may want to look elsewhere. ⭐️ Rating: 2/5 — we wanted more than just coffee 👉 DO NOT RECOMMEND 🚫 (Personally mine)
I came to Bean & Bean with my family while we were on vacation from Florida, every place we’ve visited so far has been very hospitable and pleasant. Unfortunately that was not the case here at Bean & Bean. We have heard great things about this location, however we were met with a great disappointment when the young lady that is part of the staff treated us with such disdain, my girlfriend said hello and was met with zero response or acknowledgment, no eye contact or courtesy. When I arrived shortly after my family I inquired the staff member regarding their options of Matcha, to which i was responded to with a mundane and in my opinion, rude response of “we have both” This alone made me decide not to order anything. For the leaders of Bean & Bean I would highly recommend training your staff to be more kind and courteous towards guests. Other than that the location looks presentable and the food and coffee is good.
THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN A COFFEE SHOP IN ALL OF NYC. I have lived here for 6 years and never in my life had a more hurtful and negative experience. I asked to please put milk in my coffee ( always tipping above 20%) they ignored me. I asked again nicely and they said no milks behind you. I said I would prefer if you could please put it in for me so I don’t spill it everywhere. He ignored me. My boyfriend went up and asked nicely again. They told us we were an embarrassment screaming in front of ALL other customers! Told us to leave and go somewhere else, and were laughing in our faces. These two employees could care less about their job and were vocally abusive to both me and my boyfriend. Do not spend your money here. I dumped my breakfast in the trash and left shaking.
Usually I leave positive feedback as I want to Share a great place. This one unfortunately isn’t a positive one: If I could rate -10 I would. First the service was horrible. Not sure if the barista really wants to work there. She was extremely rude. I felt as though I was bothering her for a cup of coffee. She also almost threw the coffee on the counter spilling most of it. The coffee was so terrible. I would not recommend at all.
10 dollaras for the lavender latte no way!!!. When I paid I said expensive BUT MAYBE IS WORTH THE TRY. I THOUGHT WAS SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL. BUT NOOOO. 2 PUMPS OF POISON SURUP AND MILK🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ and 10 dollars and bitter purple dust CMMONNN. SO ILL STAY WITH MATTO ANY SIZE OF COFFEE OR WHATEVER FOR 3.50 SO I COULD HAVE BOUGHT 3 NICE COFFEES AT MATTO ANY SIZE MILK ETC WITH THAT MONEY. SO NO AGAIN👎👎
