Good customer service. Great dining atmosphere. Excellent cocktails! ( “Soho” cocktail in particular was not too strong and not too sweet, or sour…just the perfect taste) Lasagna was very good. Minestrone was very flavorful. Spaghetti carbonara was okay, but a bit salty.(won’t order that again) Overall good dining experience. Might come back again to try other dishes from the menu. Update*** Came back again for breakfast. Very good service and a good breakfast spot when in the area.

Very friendly and helpful staff! The location is top notch and the place is beautifully decorated. The coffee and drink are good. The small Sandwiches and salmon was delicious and tasted freshly made. I didn’t quite enjoy my pasta carbonara though. It was a bit greasy and it came out a bit cold and was not creamy like it should be. I would not recommend this pasta dish. Even with this dish being not so great. I would still recommend this place for casual meeting with friends or business meetings. Check this place out!

Late for dinner we tried to speed up but the service to serve cocktails needing 25 mins, refill water 15mins, slow slow service made us 60 mins to finish the dinner on their due time 21:30. But, nearly no customers, maybe the place doesn’t welcome tourists to make their work load more. Rib eye steak served at warm not hot plate, almost cooling to cold to eat the steak. Not tasty. Other dishes were good.

Edit: I am updating my review since last summer. Much has changed with management and the cooking in this last visit. They no longer give that tasty tomato aioli spread that comes with the bread, my favorite dishes are no longer on the menu, and we were told they no longer give complimentary dessert on your birthday or special occasion. So without my favorite Fritto Misto and Pollo Alla Mostardo, the dishes are dry and without a balance of gravy or sauce. The manager stated that he was only on the job for two weeks, and our familiar hostess wasn’t there. So it is our guess that the chef is different too. Frito Misto and tomato aioli.. we hope you return to Sant a Ambroeus. Past review: We come here on special occasions and always enjoy the service and ambiance. Our daughter enjoys the food as well, with the simple yet balanced flavors. My favorite dishes are the fritto misto, mustard chicken with seasonal vegetables and also the steak. When I say fritto misto, I mean we order it every. single. time. For the prices at this restaurant, this dish is a really good deal for what you get. A good amount of really crispy fluffy batter fried.. tempura-like shrimp and vegetables. Honestly I need a a bowl of rice and dipping soy sauce to savor this dish but we love it anyway. I simply ask for balsamic vinegar to dip it in and it’s delicious. Close your eyes and eat kind of delicious. The first time we went there, they gave us a big blue sharing plate placed right in front of us. We didn’t know what it was for, but it made a great picture with our dishes and the sunlight always beaming into the windows when we are having dinner here. I’d recommend coming here even for the hazelnut cake or the princess cake. We also tried the pear sorbet and were wonderfully surprised by how distinctly pear tasting and gummy is the gelato. The best part about any dining experience is really who I dine with. Having a quiet meal with loved ones is one thing I enjoy here. Also not needing to be bothered with anything because the servers alway come by and take care of our needs. I can’t say enough about all the good experiences we’ve had here. We once complimented the food and the server said, The chefs know how to make it right and that makes my job easy.

Beautiful fit out internally, classic European feel bar and small internal restaurant. It wasn't until leaving that we saw the outdoor area to the side which was beautiful. That option wasn't offered to us and as such I have marked them down as we were told to sit in a booth. Food quality is great, staff were nice enough and coffee was excellent. Have subsequently had home delivery of the pasta and it was awesome! Highly recommend. I will return, try the outdoor seating area and perhaps revise this review up. Absolutely include on your list for lunch or dinner.

This was our second visit to Sant Ambroeus (the first visit was to the Lafayette St location). Having loved that restaurant, we came in with high expectations. Although a lot of things were good, it just wasn't the same. Most of the food was great - really liked the Spicy Rigatoni, Rigatoni Pesto, and the Salmon. The Cacio Pepe (we had loved it in the other location) just tasted bad and somewhat stale, but thankfully the server offered to change it right away with any other pasta of our choice. That gesture was much appreciated. I asked for Minestrone soup that never arrived, and my request for hot water (which I asked for twice) was also ignored. Several dishes we wanted to order were not available (at least 3 dishes including both the desserts on the restaurant week menu were sold out). Overall, for the price of the meal, I'd have expected a more consistent experience. Nonetheless, I hope someone from the restaurant reads this and fixes these issues (there are all solvable)

Food: 3.5 stars Service: 4.5 stars Enjoyable atmosphere, scenic and comfortable. Food was satisfying, I was delighted to see a vegetarian menu and gluten free options. This location is doing an overall good job. I will review once more,and more throughly when I try their dinner and dessert next time. For now I am pleased, good place to meet friends or a date. Also family friendly. They took serious precautions with vaccine cards also but we very sweet and polite about it. Many thanks Donia

Beautiful restaurant and modern space, but that is where the positives end. I had dinner here with colleagues and left disappointed in almost every area except the ambiance. Food: I ordered the Fettuccine al Bolognese, which was one of the blandest pastas I have ever had. It lacked flavor, although it did at least come out hot. The appetizers looked upscale, but the only one worth mentioning was the shrimp cocktail, and even that was just five medium shrimp for $37. Drinks: The cocktails were fine, but nothing stood out. This place works better as a spot for after-work drinks than for an actual dinner. Ambiance: The outdoor seating is pleasant and not crowded by people walking past. Inside, the restaurant has a modern and sleek look, but the experience does not live up to the design. Price: This restaurant is overpriced, with most items costing $15 to $30 more than comparable spots in New York City. It felt more like a tourist trap than a dining destination. For what I spent, I would have rather gone to a reputable steakhouse or a well-known NYC restaurant. The sticker shock was real, and the location near the World Trade Center likely explains the inflated prices. Service: For the price, the service should have been much more attentive. Water was refilled slowly, items were forgotten, and our table was left unattended for long periods. It did not come close to the level of service the pricing suggests. Overall: The restaurant looks nice, but the food, service, and pricing all missed the mark. I wanted to like this place, but the experience was a disappointment.

Great service!!! and nice decor. Food was good but but not great to match the high price. The Caprese apertizer was good. The 20oz bone in rib eye was done well (to order) but lack seasoning, does not feel like 20oz and not worth the price tag of $108. Potatoes were falling apart and bland.

had a deeply disappointing experience at Sant Ambroeus in Brookfield Place, and I feel compelled to share it. I stopped in to purchase two slices of chocolate cake—hardly a complicated transaction—and was met with rudeness from the moment I approached the counter. The staff rolled their eyes, acted visibly annoyed, and made it clear that serving customers was more of an inconvenience than their job. I accidentally used a credit card I didn’t intend to use and immediately asked if they could void the transaction. The attitude I received in response was completely unacceptable. They refused to void it, spoke to me dismissively, and behaved as though I was asking for something unreasonable. I ultimately had to request the manager, who thankfully was polite and handled the situation appropriately. But the fact that it required managerial intervention for such a simple correction is troubling. For a place charging $15–$20 for a single slice of cake, the service should reflect the price point. Instead, the staff behaved as though customers should feel grateful simply to be served. This is not the level of service or professionalism one expects—or should tolerate—at an establishment positioning itself at this level. I hope management takes this seriously, because experiences like this drive customers away.
