It was AMAZING. The chef Parsley is so nice and the food is plenty & affordable. Everything was fresh and delicious.
A great restaurant with a delicious selection of ramen, onigiri, and sake. If you are in the neighborhood this is a mandatory stop.
This is my new local sushi spot. Authentic and delicious sushi combined with a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
Great affordable sushi and fair. Love this place so much, 5 stars well deserved.
Very cute little place with great vibes and delicious udon noodles 🍜
This place is AMAZING. Go. Now. The owner is an amazing chef, and absolutely lovely. I can’t recommend this enough.
Excellent food here very light and delicious the place was extremely clean and it was just a pleasure going it the lady behind the counter was so nice
Loved it. Just really good, unique and tasty dishes. And a lovely owner.
This place was amazing. Extremely good food. Generous serving size. Very yummy.
The food here is so well put together and delicious. Everything was great. A fantastic little restaurant 🍜
Excellent waitstaff and owner, plus amazing food & saki! Well worth visiting several times to this quasi hidden gem!!!
That poor lady is doing so much work all by herself 😭 My God can she cook tho
Great ambiance, delicious food , definitely planning to go back !
Lovely place, very few tables, nice ambience, great food.
Sushi is so fresh here. Rolls are expertly made. 👍🏼

Always great food in a friendly atmosphere. My go to spot.
Very nice loving and funny people and the food and drinks are to die for!
The food is super fresh and the flavor is perfect
awesome place for great food and really nice staff!
This truly felt like stepping into someone’s home and being fed an excellent meal. Highly recommend the curry udon and onigiri.
This place is fantastic. Amazingly good food; an awesome playlist of classic hip hop, R&B, and reggae; and an owner who genuinely cares about her customers’ experiences. Definitely worth the trip from downtown.
Everything we had tasted so authentic! #ofukuronoaji It made me feel nostalgic of the three years I spent in Japan. We’ll be back for more!!! Chicken Curry 👍🏻 Spicy Crab Roll 👍🏻 Kitsune Udon 👍🏻
Love love love this place. Cozy and such yummy food. Cooked Salmon Roll is my favorite. The owner & staff are always friendly and welcoming :)
Amazing food from miso soup and edamame to spicy tuna rolls and shrimp shumai. Service was on point. The vibe is cozy. Truly the best getaway from the NYC hustle and bustle.
Chopped Parsley is a great place to get food. I love the Grilled Salmon sushi and their smoothies. It’s really cozy and has cute decor.
I love this place. A cozy sushi place owned by a very nice lady. The prices are great. The service is awesome. The food is amazing. I cant recommend this place enough.
Great small sushi restaurant with fabulous unique home-style options. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will come again whenever in the neighborhood and search for something different
Yummy ramen very comforting ! Good spot , usually get take out ! Chef/owner is cool!
One of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood! The staff are super friendly, and the food is fantastic. My favorite is the curry udon.
I bought so much food here because it was so worth it!!! I love that everything is made right in front of you. I definitely would recommend the Kitsune Udon and the Rice Balls!
amazing and creative food, the kindest and most generous chef/owner/neighbor, a spot i’m so thankful to have in the neighborhood. can’t recommend enough!
Great, authentic Japanese food in a cozy establishment. I highly recommend the mackerel saba! I really wish they were open for lunch
Really intimate ramen spot. Great to eat alone or with others , plus a nice small staff and vibey background music. Ramen was tasty
This is a neighborhood jewel of a place. Very friendly staff, beautifully cozy spot, and very fresh food choices. If I could hug a restaurant this would be the one.
I’ve always loved this place as a neighborhood gem. The staff is great, the matcha cheesecake is awesome and the cozy space is enjoyable.
Wonderful place!! Matcha Cheesecake is very special, I’ve never tried something like that before!
The owner is kind and wonderful. My boyfriend loves this place so I had to go check it out for myself and I now understand why. A must try!!!!!!!
Really nice Japanese food with a home cooked feel. Loved the Onigiri and the Udon
This is a wonderful spot. The food is comforting and delicious and the restaurant is so cozy. I had spicy tuna ramen and it has amazing flavor, so so yummy. I cannot wait to try more things. Chopped parsley is now the first place I’ll want to visit to eat and enjoy inside safely when the pandemic is over!
Food was excellent. The tastes, the textures, the flavors...they were exquisite. I had high expectations for this restaurant since it is authentic Japanese food but it definitely exceeded expectations. Prices are extremely reasonable and the energy of the restaurant is very relaxing and inviting. Go eat here!!!!
This place was mentioned by a neighbor and I’m SO glad I ended up going! I got the curry udon and three different types of onigiri and everything was absolutely delicious. Particularly the spicy kani onigiri. And the owner was just delightful! She was very welcoming and helpful. And even though I got it for pickup, I just want to point out that the restaurant itself is adorable. 10/10 would recommend.
This place is delicious! If you are still trying to figure out where to eat, stop and eat here you won't regret it. We had the spicy tuna ramen and the chicken Kitsuné with udon, both of them were exquisite. All of the food made here tastes like it was made with love and the perfect balance of flavors. The staff is extremely nice and attentive and they would like recommend you something if you don't know what to get. They also have a nice selection of sake, beer, and dessert.
I love the sushi here! Everything tastes really fresh and the wasabi is on point. The Philly roll is my absolute favorite. Great customer service, cute restaurant, friendly staff. If you have never heard of this place more than likely you will not stumble upon it. They have a happy hour and they make you feel appreciated as a customer. I love spending my money in restaurants like this because I feel like my money is supporting quality and someone's dream of owning their own restaurant in NYC. I highly recommend.
One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. The Okaka butter onigiri and the spicy tuna or chicken ramen is my GO TO!! The spot is small so be patient if there is a wait. The food will blow you away and it’s worth the wait!
Hamilton Heights - located true treasure of high quality Japanese comfort food. All prepared and offered with care and love by the one and only Parsley who owns, runs and makes the magic happen behind a much needed, carefully curated and, just as appreciated, concept of a unique gathering space. nothing on the menu veers away from being a first choice. there also never seems to be a bad day when dining at Parsley's . a gem, and, what seems to be, a real life example showing, that, magic can still happen, right in NYC and right in front of our eyes to see.
Charming, delicious, and cozy. We ordered takeout and regretted not staying there, as the music was great and the chef/owner was delightful. We loved the bento, onigiri, and dumplings we had. The matcha cheesecake was to die for.
The best Miso Soup in NYC Super cute hole in the wall restaurant with homemade soup, Ramen and Onigiri what’s not to love!! Really great music and homey feel on the inside too! Great spot
I am so happy to have stumbled upon this cozy Japanese restaurant. Their pumpkin cheesecake is AMAZING. Staff is kind and attentive. I didn’t mind waiting a bit for my food because I was able to see the owner/chef preparing it with love. The food is fresh and tasty. I am now a regular. This is one of my go-to spots in Harlem. I almost always order the Maze Gohan. It’s my fav.
Best. Chicken. Ramen. Of my life!!! This spot is run by one incredible woman. My friend who lives in NYC visits here weekly and was dying to take me there. And it lived up to the hype! Super small venue so it feels adorably intimate and cozy. She’s awesome!
The food is literally some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. The owner/chef is such a kind lady with great taste in music. It’s an amazing neighborhood spot but it’s well worth a trip from downtown.
The Best - this place is the perfect blend of comfort and quality. I've been a big fan since they opened and if you like tasty Japanese delights (beyond sushi) from a creative but not crazy menu at a good price in a fun/soothing small locally owned place..... stop by. The owner Parsley is always there because she cares about your taste buds and your experience dining here. Lots of love. Order the shrimp shumai! It's so great. Comes with a little bit of mustard takes it to another level.
Among the finest places in Harlem and a rare place in all of New York to have Japanese home-style cooking. The chef and owner is from Hokkaido and cooks everything to order behind the counter. Cozy atmosphere and you really feel like you are in Japan. Specializing in onigiri but the home-style plates are fantastic. And you have to try her home-made matcha cheesecake! There are some sushis for those who want something restaurant-style. Great selection of sakes.
Chopped Parsley is awesome. Awesome food especially the sushi, awesome beer and has a sake menu. Also sell noodles. Very friendly staff, quick service, and affordable. You can eat in or take out. It's a small restuarant but you'll feel at home. Great genre of music l. I would definitely recommend
You love Japanese meal? Check this place with an expectation of more home style. Great service, kind and prompt. Head here if you like tasty healthy food in a not so grand ambiance.
Small and cozy place that feels like you've walked into someone's living room. Food was fantastic when I visited, especially since it's quite difficult to get good sushi or sashimi uptown. The prices are great and you won't feel like you've broken the bank on a dinner for two.
After walking by this blink and miss it spot for months, I finally remembered between 5pm and 9pm to try it and thank the stars I did! The spicy tuna ramen hunnii 🥲🥴 I got it extra spicy and it is DIVINE! I could drink the flavorful with a slight sour undertone broth on its own but I was more than happy to eat all the things that come with it. No egg but I appreciated how the tuna is broken up in it, making it super easy to eat, vm a texture I loved. I didn’t take a pic but I also loved the tall, white container it came in; it was so nice to eat! I would give it more stars if I could!
Excellent place to bring a loved one. It is a warm atmosphere with a home like feel. Not to mention that everything that I've gotten there so far has more than exceeded my expectations, especially the strip steak rolls!
Amazing dishes. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I had the spicy vegan ramen and it was absolutely incredible. If you’re looking for food that will make you feel good, this is it.
Delicious! Sat outside, ate the edamame, cold soba, ma-ze gohan, and matcha cheesecake. Some flavor highlights were the pickled daikon in the ma-ze gohan and the broth and wasabi of the cold soba. Excellent service. All around a delightful experience.
So glad we finally got around to trying out this spot. I had the miso soup to start and it is probably the best I have ever had! The salmon and parsley onigiri was delicious. My girls had the chicken ramen and chicken udon. Both were delicious! We will definitely be going back! Love that the chef and owner came out to serve and chat with us. She is lovely.
It's been years coming to parsley, I mean how can you not come here. Let me explain to you that this woman all by herself is managing this place. From Onigiris to Tuna Don, Maze Gohan as well as ramen soups. I mean everything is so perfect. She has a great selection of sake to die for as well as beer. Without mentioning that there is a variety of Wines. Excellent for Dine in and takeout. Overall, a great place for dates, as well as coming alone. You will not be disappointed.
A real deal proprietor-run Japanese restaurant serving a delicious menu of authentic, complex Japanese cuisine. Friendly and welcoming, Chopped Parsley invites long evenings of exploring new flavors in a calm and cozy atmosphere. The handpicked Japanese beer and sake list complements this rare uptown culinary experience.
Very nice Japanese restaurant in Harlem area of NY! Loved the feeling of being in this restaurant- small local business feel with someone cooking in sight. Everything fresh, well thought out, and cared for with love! The restaurant feel is cozy. The night we were there, the waiter serving us was very pleasant and kind! Prices seem very reasonable, particularly for fresh, good food. Would definitely recommend to others and return here when I’m in NY! Thanks, Chopped Parsley, for the great food and service. #choppedparsley #newyork #ny #nyc #asian #japanese
Picked up our food so didn’t get a chance to fully appreciate the atmosphere (but so cute inside!$ the owner was kind and the food so delicious! Felt like homemade Japanese food that mom would make ^^ I would highly recommend!
So delicious! Homey atmosphere. Really nice experience! Soooo so tasty. What a gem!
Really nice place in Hamilton Heights:) the sushi I had was super good but it was not a lot so maybe you should get something else as well if you're super hungry. I liked the atmosphere at the place.
Came here for an appetizer and a drink. I got the shrimp Shumai and iced mocha and they were excellent. Service was fast and unobtrusive. I would recommend it for a quick lunch.
It's a fantastic little Japanese restaurant with a very cool owner/chef. We'll definitely keep coming back and try all the other things on the menu.

My friend and I stopped in for dinner recently. It's a cozy ambiance with chill tunes. I feel like Chef Parsley invited us into her personal home and prepared a home-cooked meal for us. My time dining at Chopped Parsley made me forget that I was in Hamilton Heights, and more like I was in a small mountain-town eatery. I believe the absence of delivery motorists contributed to the peacefulness I experienced at Chopped Parsley. Highly recommended and I will be back!
The BEST and my FAVORITE restaurant of all time in NYC!! You need to come here!! The chef and the waitress were the sweetest and the food was the best Japanese food I have eaten! Everything was fresh and delicious!! They made us feel welcome, comfortable, and were happy to have us come! I will definitely be returning!! And their matcha cheesecake is absolutely amazing!!💖💖💖💖
My favourite restaurant in NYC! The owner is an amazing chef and warm host who will immediately make you feel welcome. The restaurant has a unique and friendly ambiance with music and cute decor. The ramen, curry udon, onigiri, maze gohan, and matcha cheesecake are delicious!
Absolute gem of a place. Places like these are why we live in New York, people. Selfishly I don't want the word to get out, but the owner deserves all the recognition and more!!! Home-cooked Japanese comfort food. Tastes good and does you good<3
This place deserves one million stars. A quaint, cozy, homey vibe makes you feel like you're no longer in NYC. The food is out of this world, all made to order by the owner, Parsley. The Japanese beer great too. Even better to go on a cold/rainy day and cozy up!
The food and chef/owner were phenomenal. It’s incredible to watch one single woman make everything out of such a small spot for multiple people and to-gos. Yes the food does take an ample amount of time to come out, but with the quality and love (as well as there being only one chef/cleaner/server/hostess/prep cook ie. all of these are the same person) it makes perfect sense. Imagine you had a Japanese grandma who raised you and cooked you all your favorite meals and now she started a restaurant out of her kitchen to cook authentic Japanese comfort food and share it with the beautiful neighborhood of Harlem. This is that place!

Very hot inside Good food
The eel rolls, spicy crab rolls and pour-over coffee are amazing but I wish they had brown rice.
One of the tables i had the misfortune of getting is super narrow and far from the seat and cant be adjusted. HOWEVER food is amazing, server is nice, atmosphere is good. They only had 2 chefs for so many customers which kind of backed up the service but it was worth it.
The food is amazing!!! I could not recommend it more. Every bite was delicious from the first to the last. Yum. I had the spicy tuna don and the umeboshi onigiri. Great decor, went on a casual date with my partner and the vibe was perfect. Service was a little slow so you probably want to leave ample time for a meal. My partner ended with the mochi and thought it was delightful.
Cute, tiny space with lovely Japanese fare. The udon warms you up, the sushi and saba are amazing for the area, and the owner is so sweet! It's a small space, so not a great location for a group bigger than 4, but really sweet and romantic.
We ordered shrimp shumai, spicy tuna ramen, kitsune chicken soba and matcha cheesecake. About the appetizer you can taste and feel the shrimp, great. The noodles were so good and the broth have a lot of taste. The cake was really dense and has a lemon taste, not my type. The owner is really friendly and take care of the ingredients.
I've walked by this place a million times and finally tried it out. The service is great and the food prep time is long but well worth it. I would rank this place as a hidden gem tucked away from the main avenue. They have a nice menu of Japanese meals and drinks. Space is a bit limited, I would recommend a few friends to share this place with. They accept credit cards but have a minimum of $20 and as usual prefer cash as a small business. I will definitely be coming to this place again.
Listen, the food was good but it took like a half hour for two of to get an appetizer in a place where we were the only guests. I mean, again, it was tasty but they gotta work on their speed. Even if they're doing anything as soon as you order it, let's try to pick up the pace shall we? I'm probably being generous by giving it the full 4, except again, I liked everything. I should clarify though that the dishes are more like tapas sized and not full meal sized. Did leave a bit hungry and craving onion rings. Eat a big lunch and come here for a light dinner and you'll leave happier.
The restaurant is small but well decorated and cozy. The food was good specially the rolls and the Chirashi. Service was fast. Fish quality was really fresh and quantity was perfect. The only thing that surprised me is that it isn't cheap for the neighborhood compared to other Japanese restaurants I went to which are located Midtown and Downtown Manhattan.
A lovely little Japanese restaurant in the area. Good Onigiri offerings and delicious Ramen.

Pretty hard to leave a good review when I arrive 40 minutes before closing to find it shut down dark.
rude and extremely slow
