We enjoyed the plates served here! I ordered stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach. The chicken was tasty and the spinach was a bit spicy. My wife had the steak fajitas. The meat was delicious and tender. The tortillas were nicely toasted. The margaritas were nice and strong, so beware! The service was great and friendly. They were very accommodating; we had our 7 month old with us and they helped with storing our stroller. Recommended place to grab some great food!
Everything was perfect here! Beautiful place, good service and amazing foods annd best wings ever even after 3 years! I love it. We will come back here again.
Super chill spot in the middle of the hustle to kick back and grab authentic Mexican food for a decent price. I enjoyed the skirt steak and curry shrimp. The avocado dip was mad refreshing and lite on the stomach. Love the layout and vibe of the restaurant. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Drinks were lively, sprite and refreshing!
Dining at Cilantro Restaurant was truly a delight. The meat dish was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, and the guacamole was so fresh and delicious. The service was just as impressive, staff members were extremely polite and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcome. I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend.
I had a great experience! The restaurant had a warm and cozy atmosphere, and I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. I really enjoyed my time here and would love to come again. I highly recommend it!
Stopped by Cilantro NYC for some after dinner drinks, chips & salsa, and some takeout for our son. The decor here is really unique and cool. The service at the bar was great, and my son LOVED his takeout chicken quesadillas! We will definitely return for a full sit-down meal when mexican cuisine calls the next time.
They have a good menu if you come for brunch. Among our orders were eggs a la rachera, eggs benedict which was delicious and some nachos. The prices are affordable, they had good music, the food arrived on time and the service was good. I loved that they have envelopes with wipes on the table so you can clean your hands, I thought it was quite original. The decoration of the restaurant made me feel comfortable.

Omg this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the city. It’s cute and clean. The staff is helpful, friendly, and speedy. The food was absolutely delicious. Me and my two friends loved it! I had a chicken burrito and it was amazing. The salad that came with it was so yummy too. The chips and salsa were so delicious, it was the best salsa I ever had. We had flan for dessert and it was absolutely incredible. Everything was presented beautifully and was very tasty. I’m so happy I came here, I really enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant and hope to come back soon.
Update: returned again 3 years later and food was exceptional. Very delicious and so much flavor. The host and servers were very kind. The owner even checked in with us to make sure all was well. The food is being cooked with passion now and you can tell from the plating to the multitude of flavors.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. I loved every second from the moment I walked in til hours later when I had to leave. The people were amazing and friendly and the food was out of this world. It was the kind of food you see on TV or in commercials, but it was right in front of me. I wanted to sit there and eat forever. The owners are some of the nicest people in the world. They were so warm and welcoming. They gave amazing recommendations and they made sure that everything was perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and the drinks are delicious. Start your meal with guacamole in a stone bowl and a margarita(they have a bunch of awesome flavors). Get lots of appetizers because they are great and be sure to finish your meal with some coffee and fresh fruit as well. I'm sure you will love it and immediately start planning a time to go back again, like I am.
Guacamole in the mocajete was fresh but bland. Guacamole added to the nachos was going brown (pre-made batch?). Other dishes all just seemed to be missing something. Mozzarella sticks with no sauce. Quesadillas with only sour cream - no other seasonings or sauces. Service was pretty indifferent. We were left alone for long stretches and had to flag down the server for water refills. On the plus side the margarita was good. Decor was festive. I won't be returning, except maybe for a drink.
I was disappointed with how long food took to come out and restaurant was not as busy. Service could had been more on point instead of us asking for status on food, being seated next to the cold entrance when back of the restaurant was open. Food wasn't that great. It felt very much like take out. Grilled chicken was more rubbery and hard. Enchiladas were not even spicy as it was suggested by waitress and menu. Steak request was not acknowledged. I believe this couldn't be a way better experience for almost $200 priced amount.
The employees at the one on 83rd and Columbus Avenue really didn’t speak English so my friends and I had a hard time putting in our orders. We ordered a white Sangria that tasted like water and it didn’t have enough fruits. I ordered corona light because they told me they had but by the end of the night I realized it was regular Corona. I was extremely bloated! Food was good and the Atmosphere was great.
This was my first time visiting the restaurant. The place looks nice and has a Mexican vibe. We enjoyed some very good margaritas. We ordered nachos, but they weren't worth it. You have to add avocado and sour cream, which come on the side. The nachos only had chips, cheese, and beans. Our waiter was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be back to try some of their entrees.
I love Mexican food. This restaurant had promise. The host was friendly, we sat outside, and despite the heat it was lovely. We were excited to try the corn knowing it is in season and I looked forward to the birria tacos because they are not on every menu. The corn tasted like it was previously frozen which was a big disappointment. The tacos were decent. Service overall was good - food was served quickly and we never had an empty glass.
The service and food has dropped since the previous years. This Hispanic looking lady threw a drink at me and I was kicked out because of her behavior. Also, not to mention the food here recently has gotten me really sick. The ingredients and quality have gone downhill at this location.
I left because the staff prioritized serving white customers over others. A white couple entered, and service for everyone else stopped while the staff focused on them. The music was also turned down at their request, as if their comfort mattered more than the rest of the restaurant. Based on this experience, I won’t be spending my money here again
Worst customer service experience. The server with long hair was extremely rude and dismissive. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we waited over 45 minutes without receiving our food or any explanation. When we asked about the delay, the waitress was combative rather than apologetic. The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was disappointing. I would strongly recommend dining elsewhere—this place is not worth your time.
I ordered the Valencian Paella, which was advertised to come with clams, mussels, chorizo, shrimp, calamari, and chicken. What I actually received was nothing close — just rice with chicken, shrimp, and calamari. No clams, no mussels, no chorizo. The dish looked and tasted like a basic rice plate, not the paella I paid for. Very disappointing and absolutely not worth it.
My family and I had lunch at Cilantro on a Sunday afternoon after visiting the museum. It wasn’t busy and we were seated immediately. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Our server didn’t check on us after appetizers arrived nor after our entrees arrived. I flagged her down after the entree was dropped off to request a spoon and to ask that the appetizer serving dishes and our appetizer plates be cleared from our table. They were not! We had to eat our entrees with a full table of dirty dishes. I ordered a seafood soup that included mussels and no bowl was given for the shells. I’ve never experienced such horrible service. In an area saturated with tons of restaurants you’d think that service would be top priority in this establishment. The food wasn’t great either and even if it was I would not recommend this restaurant - Service matters!
