Excellent French restaurant with not large bud excellent menú and lots of delicious desserts on separed list...friendly ambiance with elegant decoration makes you feel like a king. Hightly recomended !
One of my neighborhood favorites. I've eaten here about four times including a brunch and each time it was a very pleasurable dining experience. Authentic french from the food to the employees.
Awesome! If you want real, French country dining, WITHOUT the pomp and hefty price tag of the trendy, Celebrity-centric, midtown expense account, snobishness? Then this is a place for you. Tell them "The Boys from Philly" sent you and ask for Daniele to take care of you. You will not be disappointed!
A great little French restaurant. Nowhere near pretentious, this place does straight-forward, French food, and does it better than any other French restaurant in the city. Down-to-earth, charming, delicious... these are all words that come to mind.
Food was amazing as well as customer service! Al the waitress’ were extremely kind and patient. Food came out fast and was great as well as dessert! Defiantly recommend to anyone!
Cozy, family owned restaurant. The roasted duck was amazing! Really enjoyed it. It feels like your grandma's house inside.
This solid, family run French restaurant never disappoints. Nothing flashy, just very good, we'll cooked food and gracious, friendly service.
Exellent service'the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.the Owner's are so sweet and accomoding.the food was superb. That day My daughter Krystele was the hostesses she did a fantastic job.Highly recommend....
Best meal yet and we have been going there for many years. Top notch service all around.
Incredible meal. Some of the best escargot I've ever had. Great service.
Always a nice place to eat after the theater. Friendly staff great food
Great food and a song too (sometimes) Try the Soft-shell crabs in season And Endive salad
Very good traditional French cooking. Wonderfully warm.
A great happy place to eat a delicious meal & have a glass of wine!😁
Excellent!..best kept secret of a French restaurant...a real pleasure
Excellent and the singing waitress is a doll too! Neal H. Hurwitz NY NY
Great French food and Danielle who will sing for you!
Excellent veal stew. Repeat customer again and again. Superb entrees
I think it's legitimately the best old school French cuisine in New York City. Duck, lamb, onion soup, snails are excellent!!! Wine is so delicious and unbelievable cheap! Service is so great! Love the place, highly recommend if you wanna try real French food:)
The charm of an older French restaurant on the UWS was not lost on us as we visited with old friends who introduced us to La Mirabelle. We sat upstairs overlooking the main dining room and it was a perfect place to eat and talk and spend 2 1/2 hours (our choice to keep it slow). We could talk with each other and hear each other and we weren't right up next to anyone. Our server was a delight. Dinner was terrific. We will be back
La Mirabelle is our most favorite restaurant in New York. The owners are lovely, the food is consistently of high quality, served hot and attractively, and delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We go to La Mirabelle whenever we can but especially when we need nurturing or are celebrating a special occasion. And yes, you can have a conversation and hear!
We ended up here because we spent an extra night in New York due to the weather, and were tired of Italian. What a great place. The food was fantastic, wine recommendations spot on, and the desserts were great too. We had the veal ragout, chicken cordon bleu, and fusilli with vegetables. All was delicious. Highly recommended!
Were we the youngest people in the restaurant by 30 years? Yes. Did it matter? No! Look, this isn't an "impress your date" type of place, but for *authentic*, traditional French cuisine, I don't know that I've had better in the city. The escargot and the venison were particular standouts.
Like dining in a French village with friends and the family owners. This place it so authentic you can close your eyes and feel just like an "American in Paris". It's all about the food and the sincere, no frills (excellent) service.
I have eaten here dozens of times. Delicious well presented food. There is a French lady who sings and also paints. Her paintings are on the walls for sale. Cocktails are good. Food is filling.
The medium rare calf's liver sauté with shallots, raspberry vinegar and onions is one dish I keep returning for. The service is lovely; nice wine list; excellent desserts. What could be bad?
How lucky we are to know about La Mirabelle! Real food, real host/owners and many returners make for a homey but very French ambiance. The sweetbreads are to die for but so are most of the other items on the menu.French the way you like it!
My husband and I have been dining at La Mirabelle for more than 15 years. We love the food, the paintings on the walls, the attentive (but never overbearing) service, the wine list and the fact that you can actually have a conversation without going hoarse. It's a busy place, but we never feel rushed. In fact, we are treated like family, even though we have no ties to the owners!
Traditional French food. Excellent chef, ingredients, wine list and wait staff! Have been there regularly. Wrote this review as I made reservations.
Great family run traditional French restaurant, decorated with paintings by one of the very talented servers. Consistently good food, friendly service, and a real neighborhood vibe.
Family owned and serving wonderful traditional french food. Onion Soup, Artichoke vinagrette, sole meuniere, steak au poivre. it is all delicious and the staff are so friendly. it is one of the best restaurants on the upper westside
Every trip to NY must include a stop at La Mirabelle. Food, service & atmosphere is just marvelous! Best wishes to them thru the interior dining shut down. Hoping soon to be back in town and dining in person!!!
Homey, yet 5-star provincial French, run by a beloved family. I hesitate to write anything for fear of losing my table!! Menu is discrete and varied. Everything delicious!! .
Top notch service, excellent food and pleasant ambience. A gem
Traditional French family run restaurant which has been a fixture on Upper West Side. Good reliable food with friendly service.
Great old fashion French food in a quite old fashion setting. Friendly staff. The crowd tends to be on the older side.
Moderately priced, crowded but good service, noisy. Very good French food, decent wine list, Continental ambience.
Good food and service - attracts an older crowd
My family and I LOVE Aperitif and have been eating there every since it opened! We have been to multiple dinners, lunches, brunches, etc. They used to serve a lamb shank over risotto that was AMAZING, but they (sadly) took it off the menu (I'm DYING for it to come back, so if anyone of importance is listening..pretty please?) But anyway, today was my dad's birthday so we decided to go for brunch. It was surprisingly empty, usually reservations are needed. The restaurant is nice, clean, and modern and always plays good music (kudos to whoever is picking the Pandora station!) The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating. We had Bellini's and they are the best! The waitress explained that they use a peach liquor, instead of peach nectar, and it actually tastes much better. I had the seafood salad today, and it's really fresh and delicious. My parents had omelettes and eggs benedict, and my brother ate the "croque mosier" and all were delicious! All the plates were (figuratively) licked clean, Aperitif is a great place!
La Mirabelle has excellent authentic French food and wonderful service. It was particularly enjoyable to be treated by a Physician Friend who has been a loyal customer since its opening in 1984. It was fun, as a Francophile for decades, to all join in singing La Marseillaise the day after Bastille Day, led by a member of the Restaurant staff🍷🍹😊!!
Had dinner last night with three friends and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent at La Mirabelle. The decor is lovely, the personnel charming, efficient and accommodating, the food completely delicious and you can entertain a conversation without having to scream or use sign language ! A quite delightful evening and many more to come ! I very highly recommend this lovely French restaurant, Odile
If you're into snooty French restaurants this might be just your spot. The food is tres bon, the service is nonchalant and the ambience is par amour. But when someone at the next table got up and started singing in French, I thought it was a bit much. Also, for some reason, this place seems to be a favorite of the over-70 crowd, so everyone talks loudly.
Straight-up French fare served with comfort and style. Very popular with locals. If you are lucky, you might also get to hear the owner sing French songs--she has an amazing voice.
Very good French food and a longtime mainstay of the Upper West Side. It's a bit pricey but worth it. Nice ambience and relatively quiet for a NYC restaurant, i.e., no kids, no bar scene, no house music, etc. A restaurant for adults with a sophisticated palate where you can enjoy a conversation.
Lovely meal! Loved the fact that they serve organ meats French style. Excellent sweetbreads and kidneys in mustard sauce. Very good service though a little slow.
La Mirabelle is an unknown French Bistro in the UWS. This bistro is very authentic and good! I've had their: Escargot - butter, garlic pesto Coquille St. Jacques - mussels, mushroom, scallop with a layer of swiss on top Monk Fish - with lobster & tarrragone sauce (worth passing) Duckling with mirabelle plum sauce (must eat) Try the duck, it's nice and tender!
Service was friendly. Food was okay at best and did not justify its price.
The food was ok, not worth the cost. The staff was overwhelmed and never even asked us how our food was. I got explosive diarrhea after eating the bland monkfish. Other than that, everyone else enjoyed their food. I have no interest in going back.
My husband and I went to La Mirabelle last night for my birthday dinner. The food was average, but the service was extremely slow. We had I believe the only male waiter on staff last night and once we received our menus he would not ask us what we would like to eat until thirty minutes later. My husband even asked for a second glass of wine and he never received it. After our dinner, we received the dessert menu, and of course again the waiter never came back to our table to ask us what we would like. We would have liked to have ordered dessert, but after another almost twenty minutes of waiting, we asked another waitress to just give us our check. I will not return to this restaurant again. Bad experience.
Last night our party of 4 dined in La Mirabelle - the special occasion was a birthday and the dinner was memorable. It was an enjoyable evening and the service and food were very good. HOWEVER, unfortunately the night ended with fierce stomach pains followed by a major bout on the commode for 2 of us. We both ate the fettuccine with basil pesto accompanied by "parmesan cheese".
