Great time, the owner is a Legend! Wonderful dining experience + great food!
Five extremely enthusiastic stars! When I’m on vacation, especially in a great food city like NYC, I have a rule that I don’t eat at the same place twice. I don’t think I’ve broken that rule anywhere in the world…until this trip. You know how when you take a bite of something really delicious you sometimes have to close your eyes and go “Mmmmm!” Every. Damn. Bite.
Excellent service and delicious, authentic food. Wide variety of homemade dishes and specials. We ate here multiple times during our trip to New York (breaking our own rule of never repeating a restaurant) and will come back next time we're in the area.
Awesome authentic Italian spot with a great balance of casual and elegant feel. I walk by it all the time walking my dog and always enjoy seeing its ambiance. Finally trying it did not disappoint! Amazing wine, chicken, pasta, meatballs. And gave us an accommodating corner booth for my service animal. Lovely place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Da Claudio NYC – An Exceptional Family Dinner We had a wonderful experience at Da Claudio, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable, elegant without feeling stuffy, which made it perfect for a family dinner. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The kids had pasta, which they absolutely loved (always a good sign). The portions were just right, and you could really taste the quality and care put into every dish. We enjoyed a bottle of the house red wine, which paired very well with the meal, and after dinner we finished with grappa and ice cream, the perfect way to end the night. Simple, classic, and exactly what you want after a great Italian dinner. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. While it’s on the higher end price-wise, the food, atmosphere, and overall experience made it well worth it. Da Claudio is a hidden gem in FiDi, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended for both date nights and family dinners.
Amazingly authentic and delicious italian food! The service and atmosphere welcoming and family-friendly or perfect for a date. We started with the burrata, which was so fresh and delicious. The red wine we had was sooo good. The parpadelle, eggplant parmesan, and chicken milanese came fresh, hot, and also very delicious. The desserts, affogato, creme brulee, and tiramisu were also first class all the way. We also got to meet the owners, who were so friendly and charming. 5 stars all the way. We’ll be back!
Absolutely loved this place. It felt like a little escape from the chaos of New York. Peaceful, intimate, and authentic. The food was incredible, clearly made with care, and the service was warm and attentive. One of those rare spots where you can slow down, enjoy the moment, and savor every bite. We came back for a second time we loved it so much. Thanks!
The food is a combination of traditional with a contemporary twist with spices. Delicious! The cocktails are so original—a smoked bourbon that is out of this world. Service is very attentive and helpful in describing dishes.
The Lasagna was perfect. The service was fantastic! I have not met someone so polite and respectful since coming to the US for a holiday, he needs a payrise. The vibe of the place was on point. The price may seem high for the lasagna but flavour outweighed the price don’t worry. The chocolate moose was amazing and not too sweet.
Yes, Manhattan is home to hundreds of Italian restaurants, and yes, you’ll stumble upon thousands of spots serving pasta, pizza, and wine. But there is only ONE place where you’re welcomed with the kind of warmth, generosity, and attention that makes you feel less like a guest and more like family: Da Claudio. From the moment you step inside, there’s a noticeable difference. The team greets you not with formality, but with genuine hospitality, remembering faces, recalling preferences, and making every guest feel as if their table is the most important one in the room. In a city where service can sometimes feel rushed or transactional, this level of personal care is rare and unforgettable. The food itself is both comforting and contemporary. Classic Italian dishes are elevated with modern touches, seasonal ingredients, and a level of execution that shows the kitchen takes pride in every plate. But Da Claudio isn’t just about the food or the drinks, it’s about the feeling. It’s the warmth of the staff, the buzz of conversation, the balance between casual and elegant. It’s knowing that no matter how many restaurants New York may offer, there’s one place you can always return to and count on a memorable evening. The food may be the icing on the cake, but it’s the heart of the people behind Da Claudio... Linda, Claudio and their staff... that makes it a treasure.
Food was lovely and flavorful. We ordered the frito misto which had a mixture of calamari, zucchini rings, shrimp and onions it was all well seasoned and lightly battered. We ordered two pasta dishes and they both were delicious, the pasta had a good texture. I would go back to try the lamb entree. Don’t skip dessert here!! The tiramisu was so good it had a drizzle of raspberry jam on the bottom which elevated the coffee flavor of the tiramisu. They had a good selection of other desserts. The staff and service were outstanding. We went on a Wednesday night without a reservation and were seated right away, might need a reservation if you go on the weekend. We ordered everything at once but they waited for us to finish each course until they brought out the next, it was a little detail but I really appreciated it.
We had dinner at Da Claudio while staying in the finical district and truly enjoyed the experience. It restaurant has a relaxing, non-pretentious vibe. The food was simple and tasty…made with fresh clean ingredients. We enjoyed the beef carpaccio, arugula salad, squid in pasta with shrimp, and bolognese. All very good! The staff was friendly and easily accommodated food allergies (dairy). Highly recommend.
I just had a wonderful dinner at Da Claudio. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was delicious! The meal was made exactly the way I like it. The service was exceptional A+. The atmosphere was very nice and would be an excellent choice to take a friend or loved one! I will definitely go back highly recommended! 92
Solid neighborhood Italian in FiDi—Da Claudio feels welcoming and upscale without being stuffy. Food was tasty: handmade gnocchi with pesto was fresh and herby, bucatini arrabbiata had nice spice and al dente pasta, and the black linguine (squid ink) was rich with good seafood flavor. Portions generous for the area. Service was attentive, friendly, and professional—great recs on wine/pasta. Atmosphere cozy and elegant (warm lighting, spacious tables, intimate vibe), though it can get a bit noisy when busy. Great for a relaxed dinner downtown!
Came in for the chicken Parmesan based on other reviews and was told they don’t make it. Sad. Plenty of other options in the regular and specials menu. I opted for the wagyu beef lasagna ($30). Sounded like a good comfort food option with a quality meat. First came the bread and olive oil. Was nice to have an option with nuts and raisins, something you don’t see all the time. Bread nice and soft too. Lasagna had good taste but had no structure that lasagna should have. It was a mound of dough, sauce and cheese instead of a crafted structure. House made desserts sound nice but didn’t have time to try them out. Next time!
Your average Italian fare. If I had to eat here again, I would, but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. The staff are nice but one of the servers a little quirky 😅 The pasta was cooked a bit too much and the sauce watery. It needed a bit more time in the pan. The charcuterie was also not great. The special “mule” drink they had was awesome. I would come back to have more of their drinks. I loved my time because I was with great company of my friends so the food didn’t matter as much.
I am giving it a 2 star review because I am just really disappointed that the food isn't better. It's not hard to make it better. Just dont drown your fries in oil (honestly, every time, you judt drown them in oil and think thats what makes them good? Cmon). Don't add wasabi or whatever other nonsense your adding to your broccoli rabe, which makes it inedible, even for those of us who love our dark green cruciferous veggies, and just add better seasoning to your pasta. We live a few streets away and it would be pretty convenient if we only liked this place more. Especially since people are really lovely. But what the hell is happening in that kitchen. For the love of god. Just make it better.
The carbonara was too watery. The Wagyu bolognese was just very mid and nothing special, tasted like pasta I made at home from a jar. Only food item that was good was the crème brûlée. Staff was friendly, and let us sit 20 mins before closing. Probably the reason food was not great. Visited oct 16th. Food prices were fair, but wine prices were aggressive. Starting price for a glass of wine was 17 (18 for red). Atmosphere was good enough for a date.
I celebrated my wife’s birthday here last Saturday. And we were charged $125 for a person who didn’t show up. Please take your money somewhere else. Wish I knew what I was getting into.
